  • In this paper, flyout stability of missile that is launched in inclined launcher using sabots is analyzed. To include missile bending motion during flyout, FEA model of missile is converted into eight concentrated mass and equivalent stiffness matrix. Six d.o.f ship motion that have influence on flyout stability is modeled and missile firing time is modeled as probability variable to take arbitrary ship attitude into account. Gap between missile and sabot is modeled as normal distribution probability variable and Monte Carlo simulation is performed. As results, the coriolis acceleration effects by ship motion are analyed and statistical results of missile pitch rate are shown.

  • Rocket Plumes can cause serious damage to launch vehicles and adjacent structures. This paper describes the impact of an adjacent structure by a rocket plume. Each parameter related with dynamic behavior of a missile is modeled with probabilistic distributions of variables. Flyout analyses of initial behavior of a vertically launched missile are performed using Monte-Carlo simulation and flow-motion analyses were conducted by using CFD. In this way, when a missile is fired by a ship, the impact of an adjacent structure by a rocket plume was analyzed.

  • A vertical launching system(VLS) is a system for holding and firing missiles on surface ships. When a missile is launched in VLS, relative motion between canister and missile and drag force induced by wind can cause initial unstability of a missile. Thus dynamic analysis of initial behavior of vertically launched missile should be performed to prevent collision with any structure of a ship. In this study, dynamic analyses of initial behavior of vertically launched missile are performed using Monte-Carlo simulation, which relys on random sampling and probabilistic distribution of variables. Each parameter related with dynamic behavior of a missile is modeled with probability variables and Recurdyn, a commercial software for multi body dynamic analysis, is used to perform Monte-Carlo simulation. As a result, initial behavior of a missile is evaluated with respect to various performance indexes in a probabilistic sense and sensitivity of the each parameters is calculated.
