  • In this study, we designed tooth profile of the fly-cutter for antisymmetric rotor which is used in screw compressor. In order to verify this profile, we manufactured three different pairs(J46, N46, P46) of antisymmetric rotor using fly-cutter. We got the following conclusions from this study. (1) We obtained better contact condition using 3pairs of rotor which are manufactured by the fly-cutter. (2) We could prevent the cutter interference near bottom point of the robe of screw rotor.

  • The paper presented here covers the work associated with the flight control law design, ground based and in flight simulation and handling qualities assessment of the Fly-by-Wire type Aircraft (FBWA). The control law was designed for the most unstable aircraft configuration flight regime for the target aircraft (FBWA). The ground based simulation including math-model, real-time pilot-in-the-loop and iron bird simulation were used for validation of the control law before the experimental in-flight simulation on the IFS (In.Flight-Simulator) aircraft. The flight tests results showed that Level 1 handling qualities for the most unstable flight regime were achieved.

  • Recently developed aircrafts use Fly-By-Wire(FBW) or Fly-By-Light(FBL) system. These systems have some merits; they can perform very complicated missions, they can expand the flight region and improve the reliability of the aircrafts. With the development of flight control systems that use FBW technique, flight envelope protection concept is introduced to guarantee reliability of the aircraft and improve the efficiency of mission achievement. In this study, flight envelope protection system is designed using a dynamic trim algorithm, a peak response estimation, and a gain scheduling technique. The performance of these methods are compared by performing numerical simulation.

  • According to results of this research Fly-ash Cement permanent-form production was found to be possible by fly-ash mortal. The compress strength 350kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$, banding strength 120kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ were possible material separting and bleeding by excessive W/C rate was decreased permanent-form made by polymer solved high price of polymer by fly-ash. Model material was made by result of first research. There were no minute-crack on beam form and out surface of form was very smooth, So filling degree seemed desirable length of form after steaming curing was maintained as expected. with these results production of form seemed possible. In the banding load test, fly-ash showed increase of maxim load 12% than RC. in the case of minute-crack, comparing with RC, fly-ash showed no crack at connect. at the first stage under continuing loading size of crack increased. These phenomena seemed to be based on contribution of stress of inner bars in permanent-form. in the test of defection, fly-ash shower about 10% beam load increase than RC. in the case of beam defection, RC showed sudden decrease of tolerance at maxim load and total breaking, but permanent-form showed breaking of bending maintaining defection with contribution of steel stress ($\Phi$6 wire-mash). There phenomenic seemed to be attributed to increase of surface and steel tolerance of form. According to construction explacemaion, it was guessed that each panel was constructed by conner-steels in form edge. so cohesiveness was small. on these bases. keeping width of horizontal band 30cm, form-panel of 20mm width was found to be of use. Permanent-form was found to be efficient in compressibleness, defection, safety and use of Fly-ash mortal.

  • Most large commercial aircrafts and high performance military aircrafts use fly-by-wire (FBW) or fly-by-light systems to improve their controllability, comfort, and safety. A flight envelope protection technique is used with flight control systems utilizing the FBW technique. Such flight envelope protection systems prevent these aircraft from exceeding the structural/aerodynamic limits and control their surface limits. This is accomplished by predicting the values of the future state variables and adaptively compensating the control action. In this study, the conventional dynamic trim algorithm of the flight envelope protection is modified to increase the method accuracy and to handle cases with multiple variables. Numerical simulation is also performed to verify the performance of the proposed method.

  • Geopolymer concrete production is interesting as it is an alternative to portland cement concrete. However, workability, setting time and strength expectations limit the sustainable application of geopolymer concrete in practice. This study aims to improve the production of geopolymer concrete to mitigate these drawbacks. The improvement in the workability and setting time were achieved with the additional use of NaOH solution whereas an increase in the strength was gained with the addition of recycled steel fibers from waste tires. In addition, the use of 25% basalt powder instead of fly ash and the addition of recycled steel fibers from waste tires improved its environmental feature. The samples with steel fiber ratios ranging between 0.5% and 5% and basalt powder of 25%, 50% and 75% were tested under both compressive and flexure forces. The compressive and flexural capacities were significantly enhanced by utilizing recycled steel fibers from waste tires. However, decreases in these capacities were detected as the basalt powder ratio increased. In general, as the waste wire ratio increased, the compressive strength gradually increased. While the compressive strength of the reference sample was 26 MPa, when the wire ratio was 5%, the compressive strength increased up to 53 MPa. With the addition of 75% basalt powder, the compressive strength decreases by 60%, but when the 3% wire ratio is reached, the compressive strength is obtained as in the reference sample. In the sample group to which 25% basalt powder was added, the flexural strength increased by 97% when the waste wire addition rate was 5%. In addition, while the energy absorption capacity was 0.66 kN in the reference sample, it increased to 12.33 kN with the addition of 5% wire. The production phase revealed that basalt powder and waste steel wire had a significant impact on the workability and setting time. Furthermore, SEM analyses were performed.

  • To have the competitiveness in the future worldwide small aircraft market, we should be able to develop the aircraft which is highly safe, easy to fly, and having excellent flight characteristics. FBW(Fly-By Wire) system is essential for the enhancement of flight safety and control easiness. FBW system that has been applied only to the modern fighter and transport aircraft is recently applied to smaller aircraft such as regional aircraft, business aircraft and even small aircraft. The purpose of this research includes the development of flight control computer, the definition of FBW system component, the design concept of each component for redundant management, OFP(Operational Flight Program) development, FBW system integration and HILS(Hardware In-the Loop Simulation) verification environment to test this FBW system.

  • In this paper, we consider a physics-based 2D flight simulation game where users can easily control realistic flight of a vehicle equipped with two thrusters that allow vertical takeoff and vertical landing. The flight vehicle can be manipulated by directly controlling the thrusting force at each thruster using a pair of analog input devices such as joysticks. However, it might require too much practice to make aerobatic flying solely with this kind of control. We propose a set of fly-by-wire methods that provide easy-to-use, intuitive control of a VTVL vehicle. Based on PD controllers, the proposed methods allow users to specify the velocity or position of the vehicle directly. Furthermore, they are easy to understand and simple to implement. We expect that the proposed vehicle model and control mechanism could be used in various 2D games.

  • Recently the embedded software has been widely applied to the safety-critical systems in aviation and defense industries, therefore, the higher level of reliability, availability and fault tolerance has become a key factor for its implementation into the systems. The integrity of the software can be verified using the static analysis tools. And recent developed static analysis tool can evaluate code integrity through the mathematical analysis method. In this paper we detect the autocode error and violation of coding rules using the formal verification tool, Polyspace(R). And the fundamental errors on the flight control law model have been detected and corrected using the formal verification results. As a result of verification process, FBW helicopter control law autocode can ensure code integrity.

  • For the performance upgrade of a supersonic jet fighter, the processor and FLCC(Flight Control Computer) Architecture were upgraded from a baseline FLCC. Prior to the hardware implementation phase, the exact CPU throughput estimation is necessary. For this purpose, an experimental method for new FLCC throughput estimation was introduced in this study. While baseline FLCC operating, the CPU address bus was collected with logic analyzer, and then decoded to get the exact access times to each memory-memory and the number of program Instruction branches. Based on these data, a throughput test in CPU demo-board of the new FLCC configuration was performed. From test results, the CPU-Memory architecture was design-changed before FLCC hardware implementation phase. To check the flight stability degradation due to power-interrupt problem due to CPU-Memory architecture change, the piloted HILS (Hardware-In-the Loop Simulator) test was conducted.
