Developing the Digital Control System of in-core Flux Mapping System for Nuclear Power Plant (원자력발전소 노내 중성자 분포 측정 설비의 디지털 제어시스템 개발)

  • 노내 중성자 분포 측정 설비는 원자로 내부의 중성자 분포를 측정하는 설비로서 원자로 내부를 이동하는 검출기의 구동 메커니즘 제어와 측정 데이터 취득을 위한 제어시스템이 요구된다. 이 설비는 발전소 건설 당시 도입되었던 제어시스템으로 운전되고 있으나 노후되어 디지털 제어시스템으로의 설비 개선 연구가 착수 되었다. 개발된 제어시스템은 산업표준 Programmable Logic Controller 및 소프트웨어 기반으로 설계되어 기능개선, 설계변경 및 예비품 확보에 유연하게 대처할 수 있고, 진보된 검출기 구동 메커니즘 제어와 검출기 데이터 취득 기능을 통하여 측정 작업의 완전 자동화가 가능하다. 특히, 다양한 진단 기법을 통하여 작업상황 및 설비의 상태를 파악하여 필요한 보호기능과 경보기능을 제공함으로써 설비의 안정적 운영과 정비가 편리하다. 현재 개발된 시스템은 고리1호기에 설치되어 주기적으로 노내 중성자 분포 측정 작업을 수행하고 있다.

  • The induction motor is a high-efficiency machine when working close to its rated operation point. This paper uses a simple induction motor model that includes iron losses. The model, which only requires the knowledge of conventional induction motor parameters, is referred to a field-oriented frame. At steady-state light-load condition the minimum point of the input power can be found with the condition that it is possible to obtain the same torque with different combinations of flux and current values. Using the minimum point. the drive system with the proposed efficiency optimization controller can be controlled easily. Simulation and experimental results show the effectiveness of the control strategy proposed for an induction motor drive.

  • The vector control system of an induction motor is the high performance drive system to achieve the instantaneous torque control. The vector control system is greatly divided into the direct control, and the indirect control that the most widely is used, The indirect vector control needs the rotor time constant, which changes widely according to the temperature, frequency, and current amplitude. The incorrect time constant leads to the saturation of magnetic flux or under-excitation phenomena. As a result, that deteriorate the control performance. Therefore, in this paper, the effect of time constant variation is investigated and its on-line tuning algorithm is proposed. The time constant using the torque angles was calculated and that of the validity of algorithm proposed was proved through the computer simulation and the experiment.

  • This paper discusses study of torque ripple minimization employing an improved TDF(torque distribution function)-based instantaneous torque control to reduce acoustic noise and vibration problem of the SRM. As the flux linkage of the SRM is a nonlinear function of phase current and rotor position, design of optimal controller for the SRM is quite complicated. Hence, an accurate mathematical model considering the nonlinearity of the SRM is required. An improved TDF based torque control has been proposed in order to reduce the toque ripple at high speed operation. Dynamic simulation using Matlab/Simulink as well as Finite Element Analysis is presented. A prototype SRM for electric vehicle traction has been manufactured to validate the experimental results comparing the dynamic simulation results.

  • The field-oriented control of induction motor without speed sensor has been widely studied. This paper proposes the new design method of adaptive sliding observer for induction motor, which include the rotor speed identification together with the rotor flux estimation. The proposed adaptive observer has advantage of their global stability which is developed on some assumption. It is easy to analyse because the identifier is seperated from the controller. Finally, the chattering which is caused by switching is reduced by new control scheme, and the validaity of the adaptive algorithm is verified by simulation.

  • A Low cost and variable speed brushless motor drive system with single switch per phase is presented. The motor drive is realized with a novel two-phase flux-reversal-free switched reluctance motor and a split AC two switch converter. The strategy of the controller and the converter for its realization are described. Comparisons between a split AC converter, asymmetric converter, split DC converter, single controllable switch converter, and N+1 converter are performed for its device rating, cost, switching losses and conduction losses, and converter efficiency. The split AC converter is analyzed and simulated to verify the characteristics of the converter circuitry and control feasibility and the simulation results are presented. The efficiency with various loads is numerically estimated and experimentally compared from viewpoint of subsystem and system in details. The focus of this paper is to compare the presented motor drive system to the asymmetric converter system throughout experiments and demonstrate single switch per phase converter having comparable efficiency as the asymmetric converter system.

  • This paper describes the control of a utility-connected doublefed induction machine (DFIM) for wind power generation systems (WPGS). Real and reactive powers (PQ) at the stator side of DFIM are strictly controlled to supply the power to the grid without any problems. In this paper the control is realized using Fuzzy PI controller based on the stator-flux orientation control.

DC Bus Voltage Regulation With Six-Step Operation in Maritime DC Power System (식스 스텝 운전을 이용한 선박용 DC 전력 시스템의 직류단 전압 제어)

  • Active AC/DC converters with PWM operation are utilized to regulate rectified DC bus voltage of a permanent magnet synchronous generator in the maritime DC power system. A DC bus voltage regulation strategy that exploits the six-step operation is proposed in this study. Compared with that of the PWM operation, switching loss of the converter can be significantly reduced under the six-step operation. Moreover, conduction loss can also be reduced due to the high modulation index and reduced flux-weakening current of the six-step operation. A controller is used for the proposed DC bus voltage regulation strategy to verify its validity with the simulation and experimental setup. The simulation and the experimental test results showed that the converter loss reduces to a maximum of 70% and 19%, respectively.

  • This paper proposes a new overmodulation stategy to give a better voltage by the full utilization of the hexagon voltage range in the space vector PWM(SVPWM) inverter. This overmodulation strategy can apply to the vector control, leading to better output torque capability in the ac motor drive system. This strategy is that in the overmodulation range, the d-axis output current is given a priority to regulate the flux well, instead the q-axis output curent is sacrificed. Therefore, the vector control even in the overmodulation PWM operation can be achieved well. For this purpose, the d-axis output voltage of a current controller to control the flux is conserved. the q-axis output voltage to control the torque is controlled to place the reference voltage vector on the hexagon boundary in case of the overmodulation. The validity of the proposed overall scheme is confirmed by simulation and experiments for a 22[kW] induction motor drive system

  • In order to smoothly control the speed of the induction motor, it is necessary to obtain the required rotor speed information. In order to obtain the speed information, it must be obtained using a sensor, but it can also be obtained using an appropriate algorithm without using a sensor. In order to obtain speed information, a system was designed using a model reference adaptive system (MARS). Indirect vector control, one of the speed control methods of induction motors, was calculated from the motor current and rotor parameter values. The method of obtaining the position information of the magnetic flux by combining the slip frequency with the rotor speed was used. It is possible to simply perform instantaneous current control in a wide speed range without actual magnetic flux information, and has the advantage that the structure of the controller is simple. Therefore, in this paper, the control system was constructed based on the indirect vector control method, and the speed control system of the induction motor was developed by estimating the required rotor speed information as an intelligent algorithm developed without using it as a sensor.
