In order to explore the time dependence of the closure parameters of the two-fluid calculations for supernova remnants and the terminal shocks of stellar winds, we have considered a simple model in which the time evolution of the cosmic-ray distribution function was followed in the test-particle limit using the Bohm diffusion model. The particles are mostly accelerated to relativistic energy either in the free expansion phase of the SNRs or in the early phase of the stellar winds, so the evolution of the closure parameters during these early stages is substantial and should be followed correctly. We have also calculated the maximum momentum which is limited by either the age or the curvature of these spherical shocks. We found that SNRs expanding into the medium where the gas density decreases with the distance from the explosion center might be necessary to explain the observed power-law distribution of the galactic cosmic rays. The energy loss due to the escaping energetic particles has been estimated for the terminal shocks of the stellar winds.
The force exerted on particles when the momentum of light is changed at the boundary is used in accelerating particles in the fluid. So far, particles are accelerated by the gaussian beam focused by lenses or microscopic objectives. In this paper, particles arc moved by the light diffracted from the fiber end. And we proposed the possibility of particle acceleration using the fiber end.

The present study describes a numerical analysis for simulation of the sloshing of flows with free-surface which contained in a rectangular tank moving in harmonic or pitching motion. The VOF function, representing the volume fraction of a cell occupied by the fluid, is calculated for each cells, which gives the location of the free-surface filling any some fraction of cells with fluid. The time-dependent changes of free-surface height are used for visualization subject to several conditions such as fluid height, horizontal acceleration, sinusoidal motion, and viscosity. The free-surface heights were used for comparing wall-force, which is caused by sloshing of flows. Damping effects by baffles were extensively investigated for various conditions in terms of baffle shape and position.

Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) measurements have been carried out to investigate the pulsatile flow characteristics in a triangular grooved channel. The results showed that a vortex was generated at the tip of the groove and flowed into the groove rotating inside during the acceleration phase of the main stream promoting the mixing of the fluid. Then, at the deceleration phase of the main stream, the vortex entrained fluid from the relatively slow moving main stream to grow bigger than the groove size. Finally the vortex was ejected to the main stream carrying the fluid away from the groove, resulting in the enhancement of mixing between the stagnant fluid in the groove and the main stream in the channel. It was found that the fluid mixing enhancement is maximized when the pulsatile period is the same as the time duration which the vortex takes to grow larger enough to fill the groove and to be ejected to the main stream.

Fluid Pulsation in pipe usually cause several forces and these forces make mechanical vibration and noise. Protecting pipe from mechanical vibration is very important problem because vibration make pipe damage and break. To analyze pipe, we must formulate both the fluid pulsation force and vibration of pipe. In this paper fluid force from pulsation is modeled by Fluid Dynamics and solved by FEM(finite element method). The discharge pipe is also modeled by the FEM with use of 6 dof beam model. The acceleration of discharge pipe is estimated by the suggested method in this paper. The comparision of estimated results with experimental results show good agreement, which verified the validation of this method
In particle-based fluid simulation, applying sudden power to particle raise unnatural flow when wave is breaking. To solve this problem, we have used an linear interpolation technique that interpolate between fluid particle by subdividing the time interval in the previous work. Acceleration vector of the particle with increased pressure in boundary could change smoothly. However, particle looks like flow with viscosity because the number of the minimum samples to interpolate increases. We propose an weighted-interpolation technique to represent the realistic movement of fluid. it is accumulating that has added and assigned different weights to the previous acceleration vector and current one repeatedly. weighted-interpolation technique using less minium samples to flow than linear interpolation, so it can solve the problem which particle looks like flow with viscosity.

This study examines earthquake-induced sloshing effects on liquid storage tanks using computation fluid dynamics. To achieve this goal, this study selects an existing square steel tank tested by Seismic Simulation Test Center at Pusan National University as a case study. The model validation was firstly performed through the comparison of shaking table test data and simulated results for the water tank subjected to a harmonic excitation. For a realistic estimation of the wall pressure response of the water tank, three recorded earthquakes with similar peak ground acceleration are applied:1940 El Centro earthquake, 2016 Gyeongju earthquake, and 2017 Pohang earthquake. Wall pressures monitored during the dynamic analyses are examined and compared for different earthquake motions and monitoring points, using power spectrum density. Finally, the maximum dynamic pressure for three earthquakes is compared with the design pressure calculated from a seismic design code. Results indicated that the maximum pressure from the El Centro earthquake exceeds the design pressure although its peak ground acceleration is less than 0.4 g, which is the design acceleration. On the other hand, the maximum pressure due to two Korean earthquakes does not reach the design pressure. Thus, engineers should not consider only the peak ground acceleration when determining the design pressure of water tanks.

We developed a 'multi-point vibration acceleration method' for accurately predicting the cavitation intensity in pumps. Pressure wave generated by cavitation bubble collapse propagates and causes pump vibration. We measured vibration accelerations at several points on a casing, suction and discharge pipes of centrifugal and mixed-flow pumps. The measured vibration accelerations scattered because the pressure wave damped differently between the bubble collapse location and each sensor. In a conventional method, experimental constants are proposed without evaluating pressure propagation paths, then, the scattered vibration accelerations cause the inaccurate cavitation intensity. In our method, we formulated damping rate, transmittance of the pressure wave, and energy conversion from the pressure wave to the vibration along assumed pressure propagation paths. In the formulation, we theoretically defined a 'pressure propagation coefficient,' which is a correlation coefficient between the vibration acceleration and the bubble collapse pressure. With the pressure propagation coefficient, we can predict the cavitation intensity without experimental constants as proposed in a conventional method. The prediction accuracy of cavitation intensity is improved based on a statistical analysis of the multi-point vibration accelerations. The predicted cavitation intensity was verified with the plastic deformation rate of an aluminum sheet in the cavitation erosion area of the impeller blade. The cavitation intensities were proportional to the measured plastic deformation rates for three kinds of pumps. This suggests that our method is effective for estimating the cavitation intensity in pumps. We can make a cavitation intensity map by conducting this method and varying the flow rate and the net positive suction head (NPSH). The map is useful for avoiding the operating conditions having high risk of cavitation erosion.
In this study we perform Lagrangian stochastic model simulation for heavy particle. Reynolds(2002) construct simple LSM for heavy particle, which lack in detailed parameter study and statistics of turbulent flow within his paper. we investigate more simple but important turbulent statistics such as autocorrelation for velocity and acceleration, Lagrangian structure function and dispersion statistics parameterized by using DNS.

This paper proposes a novel acceleration method for particle based large scale fluid simulation. Traditional particle-based fluid simulation has been implemented by interacting with physical quantities of neighbor particles through the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics(SPH) technique[1]. SPH method has the characteristic that there is no visible change compared to the computation amount in a part where the particle movement is small, such as a calm surface or inter-fluid. This becomes more prominent as the number of particles increases. Previous work has attempted to reduce the amount of spare computation by adaptively dividing each part of the fluid. In this paper, we propose a technique to calculate the motion of the entire particles by using the physical quantities of the near sampled particles by sampling the particles inside the fluid at regular intervals and using them as reference points of the fluid motion. We propose a technique to adaptively generate a triangle map based on the position of the sampled particles in order to efficiently search for nearby particles, and we have been able to interpolate the physical quantities of particles using the barycentric coordinate system. The proposed acceleration technique does not perform any additional correction for two classes of fluid particles. Our technique shows a large improvement in speed as the number of particles increases. The proposed technique also does not interfere with the fine movement of the fluid surface particles.
