The evaluation of Conflict detection and Resolution Algorithms require the use of analytical that describe encounter flight safety and the costs and benefits of optimization maneuver. A number of such algorithms have been applied in the past to the free flight. Each algorithm has benefits and limitations, and flight safety may be facilitated by combining the best features of various techniques. This paper studied a summary of conflict detection and resolution algorithm approaches. Algorithm techniques are categorized and the fundamental assumptions, capabilities, and limitations of each approach are described. The Algorithms are evaluated and compared based on their applicability to free flight airspace conflict situations.

The improvements in high performance and agility of modern fighter aircraft have led to improvements in survivability as well. Related to these performance increases are rapid response and adequate deflection of the control surfaces. Most control surface failures result from the failure of the actuator. Therefore, the failure and behavior of the actuators are essential to both combat aircraft survivability and maneuverability. In this study, we investigate the effects of flaperon actuator failure on flight maneuvers of a supersonic aircraft. The flight maneuvers were analyzed using six degrees of freedom (6DOF) simulations. This research will contribute to improvements in the reconfiguration of control surfaces and control allocation in flight control algorithms. This paper compares the results of these 6DOF simulations with the horizontal tail actuator failures analyzed previously.
This paper presents a comprehensive analytical approach for determining key maneuver parameters associated with the acquisition and maintenance of the ground track for a low-earth orbit. A livearized model relating changes in the drift rate of the ground track directly to changes in the orbital semi-major axis is also developed. The effect of terrestrial atmospheric drag on the semi-major axis is also explored, being quantified through an analytical expression for the decay rate as a function of density. The non-singular Lagrange planetary equations, further simplified for nearly circular orbits, provide the desired relationships between the corrective in-plane impulsive velocity increments and the corresponding effects on the orbit elements. The resulting solution strategy offers excellent insight into the dynamics affecting the timing, magnitude, and frequency of these maneuvers. Simulations are executed for the ground track acquisition and maintenance maneuver as a pre-flight planning and analysis.
In this study, we suggest a tilt rotor aircraft and attempt to apply a nonlinear model matching control method for its maneuver. The proposed method is very simple and useful to construct the control law for the complicated nonlinear system such as aircraft motion.

Statistical data have shown that most of aircraft accidents attributed to the spatial disorientation result from visually restricted environments such as a flight amid clouds or a night flight, in particular during roll maneuvering. This study investigates the time necessary for a flighting pilot to recognize a sloped status as a horizontal status on the condition that the roll maneuver is operating when the visual sense is blocked In this study, aspects which affect such disorientation phenomena are examined. The result of this study shows that a pilot is rushed into a somatogyral illusion when a certain time elapses with visual sense blocked, and that as a speed of the flight increases and a bank of aircraft decreases, so a rushing time increases rapidly.

Korea Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter (KPLO), also known as Danuri, was successfully launched on 4 Aug. from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station using a Space-X Falcon-9 rocket. Flight dynamics (FD) operational readiness was one of the critical parts to be checked before the flight. To demonstrate FD software's readiness and enhance the operator's contingency response capabilities, KPLO FD specialists planned, organized, and conducted four simulations and two rehearsals before the KPLO launch. For the efficiency and integrity of FD simulation and rehearsal, different sets of blind test data were prepared, including the simulated tracking measurements that incorporated dynamical model errors, maneuver execution errors, and other errors associated with a tracking system. This paper presents the simulation and rehearsal results with lessons learned for the KPLO FD operational readiness checkout. As a result, every functionality of FD operation systems is firmly secured based on the operation procedure with an enhancement of contingency operational response capability. After conducting several simulations and rehearsals, KPLO FD specialists were much more confident in the flight teams' ability to overcome the challenges in a realistic flight and FD software's reliability in flying the KPLO. Moreover, the results of this work will provide numerous insights to the FD experts willing to prepare deep space flight operations.

In this paper, the design procedure of a guidance algorithm in the boosting phase of missiles with free-flight after thrust cut-off is introduced. The purpose of the guidance is to achieve a required velocity vector at the thrust cut-off. Trajectory optimizations for four cost functions are performed to investigate implementable trajectories in the pitch plane. It is observed from the optimization results that high angle of attack maneuver in the beginning of the flight are required to satisfy the constraints. The proposed guidance algorithm consists of the pitch program to produce open-loop pitch attitude command and the yaw attitude command generator to nullify the velocity to go. The pitch program utilizes the pitch attitude histories obtained from the trajectory optimization.

A lot of studies to overcome the limitation of flight time have been studied, since the requirement of complicated mission achievement of aircraft including Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs) has been increased. The fuel limitation could bring about not enough flight time to accomplish missions. For this reason, the rendezvous maneuver is required to accomplish aerial refueling missions. The rendezvous guidance law based on variable pursuit guidance is designed using Lyapunov stability theory in this study. Numerical simulation is performed to demonstrate the performance of the proposed rendezvous guidance.

Although non-real time simulation and pilot based evaluations are available for the development of flight control computer prior to real flight tests, there are still many risky factors. The control law designed for prototype aircraft often leads to degraded performance from the initial design objectives, therefore, the proper evaluation methods should be applied such that flight control law designed can be verified in real flight environment. The one proposed in this paper is IFS(In-Flight Simulator). Currently, this system has been implemented into the F-18 HARV(High Angle of Attack Research Vehicle), SU-27 and F-16 VISTA(Variable stability. In flight Simulation Test Aircraft) programs. This paper addresses the concept of switching mechanism for FLCC(Flight Control Computer)-SWMC(Switching Mechanism Computer) using 1553B communication based on flight control law of advanced supersonic trainer. And, the fader logic of TFS(Transient Free Switch) and stand-by mode of reset '0' type are designed to reduce abrupt transient and minimize the integrator effect in pitch axis control law. It hans been turned out from the pilot evaluation in real time that the aircraft is controllable during the inter-conversion process through the flight control computer, and level 1 handling qualities are guaranteed. In addition, flight safety is maintained with an acceptable transient response during aggressive maneuver performed in severe flight conditions.
For its synergistic relationship, an integrated SDINS/GPS system has been adopted in many navigation areas. As an application of SDINS/GPS integration, the in-flight alignment process of a SDINS utilizing GPS carrier phase measurements is introduced and analyzed via an observability analysis using nul1 space method. A measurement model of double-differenced GPS carrier phase measurements is newly derived in order to be used with a SDINS error model. Also, conditions for determining the complete observability of a SDINS/GPS system are suggested and proved. Consequently, it is shown that the system is not completely observable in case of one basel me. With one baseline aligned with y-axis of body frame, pitch error and x-axis accelerometer bias are unobservable states. Also shown is that al1 states are completely observable when sequential maneuver is performed. Above results are confirmed by a covariance analysis.
