CFIT 자율 회피를 위한 심층강화학습 기반 에이전트 연구 (Study of Deep Reinforcement Learning-Based Agents for Controlled Flight into Terrain (CFIT) Autonomous Avoidance)

  • In Efforts to prevent CFIT accidents so far, have been emphasizing various education measures to minimize the occurrence of human errors, as well as enforcement measures. However, current engineering measures remain in a system (TAWS) that gives warnings before colliding with ground or obstacles, and even actual automatic avoidance maneuvers are not implemented, which has limitations that cannot prevent accidents caused by human error. Currently, various attempts are being made to apply machine learning-based artificial intelligence agent technologies to the aviation safety field. In this paper, we propose a deep reinforcement learning-based artificial intelligence agent that can recognize CFIT situations and control aircraft to avoid them in the simulation environment. It also describes the composition of the learning environment, process, and results, and finally the experimental results using the learned agent. In the future, if the results of this study are expanded to learn the horizontal and vertical terrain radar detection information and camera image information of radar in addition to the terrain database, it is expected that it will become an agent capable of performing more robust CFIT autonomous avoidance.

제주도 후기 플라이스토세 퇴적층에서 산출된 깃털 화석 (A Fossil Feather from the Late Pleistocene Deposits in Jeiu Island, Korea)

  • 제주도의 후기 플라이스토세 퇴적층에서 깃털 화석을 발견하여 기재하였다. 수심이 얕은 바닷가에서 퇴적된 이 퇴적층에서는 사람 발자국을 포함하여 다양한 새 발자국 화석과 포유류 발자국 화석이 풍부하게 산출되었다. 담회색 이암에 밝은 색의 얇은 막으로 잘 보존된 깃털 화석은 깃 판(vane)이 있는 깃털의 일부분이다. 비록 표본의 크기가 길이 10.3 mm, 폭 9.0 mm로 비교적 작지만, 깃대 양쪽에 두 개의 편평한 깃판(vane), 거의 나란하게 휘어진 깃 가지(barbs)그리고 수많은 전면과 후면의 작은 깃 가지(barbules)들이 잘 보존되어 있다. 이 깃털 화석은 국내에서 최초로 발견되어 기재된 것이며 또한 전 세계의 플라이스토세 퇴적층에서도 처음으로 발견된 것이다.

Biomarkers Screening Between Preoperative and Postoperative Patients in Pancreatic Cancer

  • Objective: To investigate discriminating protein patterns and potential biomarkers in serum samples between pre/postoperative pancreatic cancer patients and healthy controls. Methods: 23 serum samples from PC patients (12 preoperative and 11 postoperative) and 76 from healthy controls were analyzed using matrix-assisted laser desorption and ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) technique combined with magnetic beads-based weak cation-exchange chromatography (MB-WCX). ClinProTools software selected several markers that made a distinction between pancreatic cancer patients and healthy controls. Results: 49 m/z distinctive peaks were found among the three groups, of which 33 significant peaks with a P < 0.001 were detected. Two proteins could distinguish the preoperative pancreatic cancer patients from the healthy controls. About 15 proteins may be potential biomarkers in assessment of pancreatic cancer resection. Conclusion: MB-MALDI-TOF-MS method could generate serum peptidome profiles of pancreatic cancer and provide a new approach to identify potential biomarkers for diagnosis and prognosis of this malignancy.

항공 승무원의 방사선 지식에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석 (Analysis of Factors Affecting Radiation Knowledge among Aircrew)

  • Objectives: This study identified factors impacting radiation knowledge among aircrew, who are affected by cosmic radiation exposure due to their occupational environment. Methods: In September 2019 we conducted an online survey of aircrew through a Google link. We evaluated the level of radiation knowledge using a ten-item (10 points) questionnaire. The following exploratory variables were evaluated in relationship with the level of radiation knowledge using univariable linear regression models: sex, age, duration of employment, position level, company, marriage, education level, personal/family history of disease, and the number of times acquiring information on radiation through various channels (internet searching, watching television, reading newspaper, conversation about radiation with aircrew/non-aircrew, in-house training). With a p of 0.2 in univariable models, we built a multivariable linear regression model using a stepwise selection method. Results: The average radiation knowledge score of the 356 respondents was 7.22. Univariable linear regression analysis showed that radiation knowledge of the aircrew was associated with their company, position level, age, and number of conversations with other aircrew members. Our multivariable model showed that the radiation knowledge level of aircrew decreased as they had more conversations about radiation with other aircrew members and as their age increased. Conclusions: Korean air crew showed a lower level of radiation knowledge as their age and the number of conversations with colleagues increased. The study suggests that more education is needed in order for aircrew to gain accurate radiation knowledge.

멀티로터 UAV 환경에서의 CNN 기반 복소 스펙트로그램 향상 기법 (CNN based Complex Spectrogram Enhancement in Multi-Rotor UAV Environments)

  • 멀티로터 UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle)를 이용해서 수집한 음향 데이터는 모터나 프로펠러에서 발생하는 자체 소음이나 비행 중 발생하는 바람 소리 등으로 인해 음향 품질이 크게 손상되는 문제가 발생한다. 멀티로터 UAV 환경에서는 목표 음향의 크기뿐만 아니라 위상도 크게 손상되기 때문에 크기와 위상을 모두 고려해서 음향을 향상시킬 필요가 있다. 하지만 위상은 크기와 달리 구조적인 특징이 잘 나타나지 않으므로 향상시키는 것이 쉽지 않다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 크기와 위상을 모두 표현할 수 있는 복소 스펙트로그램을 기초로 잡음을 제거해서 목표 음향의 품질을 향상시키는 CNN 기반 복소 스펙트로그램 향상 방법을 제안한다.

액체로켓 부스터를 부착한 한국형발사체의 발사 성능 분석 (Performance Analysis of KSLV-II Launch Vehicle with Liquid Rocket Boosters)

  • 발사체 개념설계 교육 및 추진기관 요구 분석에 활용을 목적으로 발사체 성능 해석 프로그램을 작성하였으며, 이를 이용하여 액체로켓 부스터를 장착한 한국형발사체의 성능해석을 수행하였다. 액체로켓 부스터의 성능은 75톤급 액체로켓엔진을 기본으로 하여 한국형발사체의 2단부 구조비를 참고하였다. 발사체의 성능해석은 700 km궤도를 목표로 부스터의 수를 2, 3, 4개로 늘려가며 분석하였다. 발사체 궤적은 비행환경을 고려한 2차원으로 가정하였다. 부스터를 장착하는 경우 탑재가능화물 무게는 3톤까지 증가함을 확인하였지만, 화물 능력은 상단부의 추력에 크게 제한받는 것으로 판단된다.

플라잉 상태에서 바지형태의 하네스에 대한 하중압력 분포 측정 및 가상착의 적용 (Investigation of the body distribution of load pressure and virtual wear design of short pants harnesses in flying condition)

  • Virtual reality is currently mainly used in games, but is starting to be applied as a variety of media fields, such as broadcasting and film. Virtual reality provides more fun than reality, and can provide new experiences in areas that cannot be experienced in reality due to the constraints of time, space, and environment. In particular, as the social non-contact arena has increased due to COVID-19, it is being applied to education, health, and medical industries. The contents are further expanding into design and military fields. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to observe the change in distribution of load and pressure felt by the body in the flying state while wearing a short pants harness, which are mainly used in the game and entertainment industry. In the experiment, the average pressure in the flying state was measured by attaching a pressure sensor to the back and front of a human mannequin. As a result, it was confirmed that the load concentrated on the waist in the flying state was 44 N, with a pressure of 1353 kPa. The pressure distribution was concentrated in front of the center of gravity, and was measured was at 98% by the pressure sensors, with an average pressure value of approximately 15 kPa, and a pressure value of approximately 12 kPa at the back, which was measured at 67% by the pressure sensor. The results of the load and pressure distribution measurement are presented as fundamental data to improve the wearability and comfort of harnesses in the future, and are compared to actual measured pressure values by analyzing the clothing pressure in flight through virtual wear of harnesses through the CLO 3D program.

UAM 시뮬레이터를 활용한 공포심과 어지러움에 대한 실증 연구 (An Empirical Study on Fear and Dizziness Using UAM Simulator)

  • 2025년을 목표로 UAM을 상용화하겠다는 정부의 의지를 바탕으로 국가기관과 전 세계 기업을 중심으로 UAM 기체 개발을 포함한 여러 분야에서 놀라운 성과를 이뤄내고 있다. 또한 최근에는 도심항공모빌리티(UAM) 개념을 기반으로 도심 항공 운용과 관련이 없는 장거리 또는 근거리 도시 간 상용운용, 화물배달, 공공 서비스, 항공 관광, 개인/레저용 기체와 같은 사용을 포함하는 선진항공모빌리티(AAM; Advanced Air Mobility) 개념으로 진화하고 있다. 이처럼 UAM 산업이 기체 개발, Vertiport 설계 및 구축, 항행시스템 등의 다양한 분야에서 활성화되고 있지만, UAM을 이용한 승객 이동 시 저고도 운항 특성과 3차원 내에서의 속도감, 외부 환경에 의한 기체 흔들림 등으로 인한 승객의 공포심과 어지러움 등 신체적 문제에 관한 연구는 지금까지 거의 찾아볼 수 없는 상태이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 헬리콥터를 활용하여 UAM의 예상 고도와 속도로 비행하면서 실제 영상을 촬영, VR과 Motion이 장착된 UAM 시뮬레이터를 활용하여 일반인들에게 체험함으로써, 추후 UAM 실제 운항 시 발생할 수 있는 승객들의 공포심과 어지러움 등의 신체적 반응을 확인하고, 문제점을 분석하고자 한다.

자동차 연료유형에 따른 배출 입자상 물질의 화학적 특성 (Physicochemical Characteristics of Particulate Matter Emissions of Different Vehicles' Fuel Types)

  • The physicochemical characteristics of particulate matter emissions from various vehicle's fuel types were studied at the facility of Transport Pollution Research Center(TPRC), National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER), Korea. Three different types of fuels such as gasoline, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and diesel were tested on the NIER driving mode and the constant speed modes(30, 70, and 110 km/h). Chemical composition of submicron particles from vehicle emissions was measured by the High Resolution Time of Flight Aerosol Mass Spectrometer (HR-ToF-AMS) during running cycles. Organics were dominant chemical species of particulate matter emissions for all three different vehicles' fuel types. Moreover, regardless of fuel types, emission rate of organics and inorganics decreased as the average speed of vehicle increased. The portion of fully oxidized fragment families of $C_xH_yO_z$ accounted for over 98% of organic aerosol(OA) in LPG and diesel vehicles, while the relatively high fraction of $C_xH_y$ in OA was observed in gasoline vehicle.
