  • Most conventional processors execute program instructions in a sequential manner. On the other hand, VLIW processor can execute multiple instructions at the same time. It exploits instruction level parallelism to improve system performance. To that end, program code should be rearranged to VLIW instruction format by a compiler. The compiler determine an optimal execution order of instructions of a program code. This instruction ordering is also called instruction scheduling. The scheduling is an algorithm that decides the execution order for instruction codes in loop parts of a program so that the instruction level parallelism can be maximized. In this research, we apply an existing scheduling algorithm to a VLIW FCC and describe analysis results to further improve its performance. And, we present a solution to solve some limitation of the existing scheduling technique. By using our solution, FCC's performance can be improved upto 32% compared to the existing scheduling only setting.

  • The methods that are used for receiving data from attached devices under real-time preemptive multi-task operating system (OS) by general processors can be categorized as polling and interrupt driven. The technical approach to these methods may be different due to the application specific scheduling policy of the OS and the programming architecture of the flight software. It is one of the most important requirements on the development of the flight software to process the data received from satellite subsystems or components with the exact timeliness and accuracy. This paper presents the analysis of the I/O method of device related scheduling mechanism and the reliable data I/O methods between processor and devices.

  • Recently, many kinds of satellites are developed in many countries. The satellite contains various data, such as hardware status data attitude date an information, etc. And the ground station must check these data for successful operation These data is called as telemetry. Flight software is responsible for the telemetry processing. In KOMPSAT(Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite)-2, the telemetry processing logic takes the table-driven method to make satellite data flow efficient In this paper, the telemetry processing in KOMPSAT-2 is described Verification test and integration test are being carried out for the FSW of KOMPSAT-2.

  • It seems to be increased rapidly that practical uses of intelligent Dron for public mission performance such as surveillance, prevention of disaster accident, relief etc with Dron technology development. Dron is needed for major technology realization of detection and trace technology of target, flight control and obstacle avoidance during flighting, detection and control of landing point functions to use smart safety-city platform construction. This dron system cause a great ripple effect technically and promote industrialization in the field of new technology. In this paper, an effective analysis and design method of dron system software will be presented by showing user requirement analysis using object-oriented method, flowchart and screen design.

  • 저궤도 위성은 지상과의 접축시간이 극히 제한되어 있어 위성에서 생성된 원격측정 데이터들을 위성의 대용량 메모리에 저장하였다가 지상과의 접촉시간에 저장된 데이터를 지상으로 전송하는 방식으로 운영된다. 위성에 저장할 수 있는 전체 데이터 크기는 대용량 메모리의 크기와 지상과의 통신 가용시간에 따라 제한을 받게 된다. 대용량 메모리 저장용량과 다운링크 버짓을 만족해야 하므로 일반적으로 각 탑재체로부터 수신하여 위성에 저장되는 원격측정 데이터들은 종류별로 일정한 주기를 가지게 되고 그 크기도 고정되어 있다. 그리고 각 데이터 종류별로 저장여부를 지상명령으로 조절할 수 있도록 되어 있다. 그러나 생성되는 데이터가 일정하지 않고 비주기성을 갖는 경우 데이터량을 예측할 수 없으므로 지상명령으로 데이터 저장여부를 제어하는 것은 거의 불가능하다. 이러한 경우에 생성되는 데이터량을 모니터링하면서 데이터를 전송할 수 있는 자동화된 데이터 통신 방식이 요구된다. 본 논문은 저궤도 위성 탑재체에서 비주기적으로 생성되는 데이터를 자동으로 전송받기 위한 데이터 자동 전송기능과 시험 결과에 대해서 기술하였다.

Simulation of Time of Flight Diffraction Signals for Reactor Vessel Head Penetrations (원자로 상부 헤드 관통관 TOFD 신호 시뮬레이션)

  • The simulation of nondestructive testing has been used in the prediction of the signal characteristics of various defects and in the development of the procedures. CIVA, a simulation tool dedicated to nondestructive testing, has good accuracy and speed, and provides a three-dimensional graphical user interface for improved visualization and familiar data displays consistent with an NDE technique. Even though internal validations have been performed by the CIVA software development specialists, an independent validation study is necessary for the assessment of the accuracy of the software prior to practical use. In this study, time of flight diffraction signals of ultrasonic inspection of a calibration block for reactor vessel head penetrations were simulated using CIVA. The results were compared to the experimentally inspected signals. The accuracy of the simulated signals and the possible range for simulation were verified. It was found that, there is a good agreement between the CIVA simulated and experimental results in the A-scan signal, B-scan image, and measurement of depth.

Development of a Preliminary Formation-Flying Testbed for Satellite Relative Navigation and Control

  • This research develops a GPS-based formation-flying testbed (FFTB) for formation navigation and control. The FFTB is a simulator in which spacecraft simulation and modeling software and loop test capabilities are integrated for test and evaluation of spacecraft navigation and formation control technologies. The FFTB is composed of a GPS measurement simulation computer, flight computer, environmental computer for providing true environment data and 3D visualization computer. The testbed can be simulated with one to two spacecraft, thus enabling a variety of navigation and control algorithms to be evaluated. In a formation flying simulation, GPS measurement are generated by a GPS measurement simulator to produce pseudorange, carrier phase measurements, which are collected and exchanged by the flight processors and subsequently processed in a navigation filter to generate relative and/or absolute state estimates. These state estimates are the fed into control algorithm, which are used to generate maneuvers required to maintain the formation. In this manner, the flight processor also serves as a test platform for candidate formation control algorithm. Such maneuvers are fed back through the controller and applied to the modeled truth trajectories to close simulation loop. Currently, The FFTB has a closed-loop capability of simulating a satellite navigation solution using software based GPS measurement, we move forward to improve using SPIRENT GPS RF signal simulator and space-based GPS receiver

  • The data acquisition unit, signal acquiring and processing equipment, processes and provides major data of an aircraft such as engine system, power train system, hydraulic system, etc. However, it had lots of failure related to the system during production test flight, and it is necessary to fix them perfectly as soon as possible because of the significance of the equipment. In this paper, it contains failure classification and analysis for each defect element to improve whole software as well as electrical circuit. Particularly, utilizing Fault Injection Method based interworking test, more efficient improvement activity was performed for not only equipment level but also aircraft level, and as a result, it is achieved that considerable betterment of Surion quality and flight safety.

  • Aeromagnetic survey generally require much more pre-processing steps than that of common land survey due to several complex and cumbersome steps included in pre-processing stage. Therefore it is desirable to use specific processing tool especially based on graphic user interface. For this purpose, aeromagnetic pre-processing software based on graphic user interface under the Windows environment, called $KMagLevelling^{TM}$ was developed and briefly introduced. In an aspect of its user-friendliness and originality, three noticeable features of $KMagLevelling^{TM}$ are summarized as the following (1) function of representation and handling for large amount of aeromagnetic data set as a visualization in the form of flight-path (2) function of selective exclusion of unwanted data by using survey area information expressed as polygon, and (3) function of selective removal processing for the irregular flight-path data acquired within the entire survey area by implementing the segmentation of flight-path technique.

  • We propose an application of the Object-Oriented design methodology to develop operational flight program(OFP) for stores management computer(SMC) which manages and controls stores inventory, stores activation, launch for missiles, and release of the conventional weapons. For the development of SMC, a military version of PowerPC 603e is used as a central processing unit board and VxWorks real-time operating system is used. The Tornado software development environment(SDE) and the programming language Ada95 are used for OFP development. We design three layerd in the OFP for the independency of the software modules. An avionics system computer(ASC) simulator and a test bench are developed for the SMC integration test and verification test. And the tests are rigorously and successfully conducted.
