  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the mechanical properties of high strength concretes reinforced with hooked steel fiber. For this purpose, total 36 specimens whose variables are concrete compressive strength, steel fiber aspect ratio, and steel fiber volume contents, are made and tested. From the test results including previous research work, flexural performance of steel fiber reinforced high strength concrete is evaluated in terms of flexural strength and toughness index. Flexural behavior of steel fiber reinforced high strength concrete is enhanced with respect to the fiber volume content, the aspect ratio, and concrete compressive strength. More efforts are devoted to evaluate quantitatively between the flexural strength and the structural parameters such as the fiber volume content, the aspect ratio, and concrete compressive strength.

  • This study evaluated the flexural performance of steel and PP fiber reinfroced shotcrete using round panel test according to ASTM that can consider the actual stress of fiber reinforced shotcrete in tunnel and under ground structures. The results of round panel test are converted to the square panel test results according to the EFNARC. The energy absorptions of each fiber reinforced shotcrete were classified according to the EFNARC toughness classification. Test results show that the PP fiber reinforced shotcrete has better flexural performance compared with the steel fiber reinforced shotcrete.

  • The results of an experimental study on the manufacture and the mechanical properties of fiber reinforced fly ash$\cdot$lime$\cdot$gypsum composites are presented in this paper. 'The composites using fly ash, lime, and gypsum were prepared with various fibers (PAN-derived and Pitch-derived carbon fiber, alkali-resistance glass fiber) and a small amount of polymer emulsion-styrene butadiene rubber latex (SBR). As the test results show, the manufacturing process technology of fly ash$\cdot$lime$\cdot$gypsum composites was developed and its optimum mix proportions were successfully proposed. And the flexural strength and toughness of fiber reinforced fly ash$\cdot$lime $\cdot$gypsum composites were increased remarkably by fiber contents, but the compressive strength of the composites were influenced by the kinds fiber more than by the fiber contents. Also, the addition of a polymer emulsion to the composites decreased the bulk specific gravity, but the compressive and flexural strength, and the toughness of the composites were not influenced by it, but were considerably improved by increasing fiber contents.

  • This study is a study on the flexural adhesion performance of polymer cement composites(PCCs) repair section according to the crack depth, and the flexural adhesion strength was obtained through a flexural strength test of cement mortar that was filled into cracks and repaired to a certain thickness using PCCs made of ultra high-early strength cement and polymer dispersion of EVA. As a result of the study, the flexural adhesion performance according to the crack width and crack depth was expected to decrease the flexural adhesion strength as the crack depth increased at the crack width 3.0mm, but the crack width 2.0mm and 1.5mm did not show any tendency according to the crack depth. In addition, even in the final destruction, the fact that the cracks and bottoms filled with PCCs were not cut or dropped proves that PCCs have excellent adhesion and rich toughness.

  • An experimental evaluation of crack propagation and post-cracking behavior in steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) beams, using full-field displacements obtained from the digital image correlation technique is presented. Surface displacements and strains during the fracture test of notched SFRC beams with volume fractions ($V_f$) of steel fibers equal to 0.5 and 0.75% are analyzed. An analysis procedure for determining the crack opening width over the depth of the beam during crack propagation in the flexure test is presented. The crack opening width is established as a function of the crack tip opening displacement and the residual flexural strength of SFRC beams. The softening in the post-peak load response is associated with the rapid surface crack propagation for small increases in crack tip opening displacement. The load recovery in the flexural response of SFRC is associated with a hinge-type behavior in the beam. For the stress gradient produced by flexure, the hinge is established before load recovery is initiated. The resistance provided by the fibers to the opening of the hinge produces the load recovery in the flexural response.

  • Leakage in the structure due to the irregular flow of groundwater in the underground structure penetrates into internal spaces such as underground parking lots and basement through underground walls, which is expensive in terms of maintenance of the building. In this study, various composite waterproofing methods installed on the outer walls of underground structures were selected to evaluate the structural performance of composite specimens due to bending behavior through experiments and analysis on bending test behavior on concrete attachment surfaces.

  • This study will not only prove experimental dynamic properties which are classified to slump, compressive strength, tensile strength, flexure strength and toughness granite soil concrete with a fine aggregate of granite soil and blast-furnace cement and polypropylene fiber over 45 mm, but also establish a basic data in order to use environment-friendly pavement through prove useful pavement mixed with granite and polypropylene (PP) fiber which is a kind of material to prevent a dry shrinkage clack, a partial destruction and useful and light. The value of slump test was gradually increased by PP fiber volume 3 $kgf/m^3$, but compressive strength took a sudden turn for the worse from 5 $kgf/m^3$. The compressive strength indicated a range of 13.72~18.35 MPa. On the contrary to compressive strength, the tensile strength showed to decrease with rising PP fiber volume, and the tensile strength indicated a range of 1.43~1.64 MPa. The tensile strength was stronger about 2~15 % in case of mixing with PP fiber volume than normal concrete. The flexural strength indicated a range of 2.76~3.41 MPa. The flexural strength was stronger about 20 % in case of PP fiber volume 0 $kg/m^3$ than PP fiber volume 9 $kg/m^3$. The toughness indicated a range of 0~25.46 $N{\cdot}mm$ and increased proportionally with PP fiber volume. The toughness was stronger about 8.3 times in case of PP fiber volume 9 $kg/m^3$ than PP fiber volume 1 $kg/m^3$. The pavement with PP fiber volume over such a fixed quantity in the park roads and walkways can have a effect to prevent not only resistance against clack but also rip off failures.

  • In this study mechanical properties of various fiber reinforced permeability concrete mixtures are investigated. Several mixes with fiber kinds(steel fiber, polyprophylen fiber, carbon fiber) and different fiber content(steel fiber : 0.3~0.9vol.%, polyprophylen fiber : 0.1~0.5vol.%, carbon fiber : 0.2~0.7vol.%) were studied. Test results are presented in terms of compressive strength, tensile-flexural strength and load-deflection behavior. The effect of fiber reinforcement does not increase the compressive strength of permeability concrete without fiber. Also, the tensile-flexural strength using various fibers are appeared good strength increase as conventional fiber reinforced concrete. Therefore, use of fiber for permeability concrete is necessary to improve of tensile-flexural properties and deformation performance(toughness).
