PID-Force Control of a Artificial Finger with Distributed Force Sensor and Piezoelectric Actuator (분포센서를 가진 인공지의 PID-힘 제어)

  • This paper is concerned with the theroretical and experimental study on the force control of a miniature robotic finger that grasps an object at three other positions with the fingertip. The artificial finger is uniform flexible cantilever beam equipped with a distributed set of compact grasping force secnsors. Control action is applied by a qiexoceramic bimorph strip placed at the base of the finger. The mathematical model of the assembled electro-mechanical system is developed. The distributed sensors are described by a set of concentrated mass-spring system. The formulated equations of motion are then applied to a control problem which the finger is commanded to grasp an object The PID-controller is introduced to drive the finger. The usefulness of the proposed control technique is verified by simulation and experiment.

  • 수주생산환경에서는 고객과의 주문 상담과정에서 여러 가지 정보(가격, 인도기간, 기호, 제품사양 등등)를 파악해야 된다. 본 연구에서는 고객의 요구에 부합하며, 최적의 제품구조를 가지는 우연한 BOM 시스템을 구성하고자 한다. 이러한 유연한 BOM 시스템을 위하여, 제공되는 정보를 분석할 수 있는 수리적 모형을 제시하고, 이를 객체지향적 패러다임을 이용하여 BOM 시스템 요소들을 UML로 구현한다. 또한, 이러한 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 주문형 컴퓨터를 위한 BOM 시스템을 실제로 구현한다.

  • An analyzing method for pressure fluctuation in oil hydraulic pipe network was developed in this study. The object pipe network has multi-branch configuration, and the pipeline of it is composed of steel tubes, flexible hoses. Also, accumulators, orifices and lumped oil volume components are attached on it. Transfer matrix method, in other words impedance method, was used for the analysis. The reliablity and usefulness of the analyzing method was confirmed by comparing and investigating computed results and experimental results got in this study.

Position estimation using combined vision and acceleration measurement

  • There are several potential error sources that can affect the estimation of the position of an object using combined vision and acceleration measurements. Two of the major sources, accelerometer dynamics and random noise in both sensor outputs, are considered. Using a second-order model, the errors introduced by the accelerometer dynamics are reduced by the smaller value of damping ratio and larger value of natural frequency. A Kalman filter approach was developed to minimize the influence of random errors on the position estimate. Experimental results for the end-point movement of a flexible beam confirmed the efficacy of the Kalman filter algorithm.

  • This paper extends the work of Maji et al. (2001) to present the concept of interval-valued fuzzy soft sets and to present an algorithm for finding where the degree of membership are represented by interval values in [0, 1]. The proposed method is more flexible than the one presented in Maji et at. (2001) due to the fact that it allows the degrees of membership of object for parameters to be represented by interval-values rather than crisp real values between zero and one.

  • A theoretical and experimental study is presented for the force holding control of a miniature robotic ringer which is driven by a pair of piezoelectric unimorph cells. In the theoretical analysis, one finger is modeled as a flexible cantilever with a tactile force sensor at the tip and the mate of the finger is a solid beam supposed with sufficient stiffness. Further, the force sensor is modeled by a one-degree-of-freedom, mass-spring system and the output of sensor is then described by the sensor stiffness multiplied by the relative displacement. The problem investigated in this paper is that two typical holding tasks of the human finger are picked up and applied to the robotic finger. One is the work holding a stationary object with a prescribed, time-varying force and the other one is to keep the contacted force constant even if the object is in motion. The simple PID feedback control scheme is used to control the minute gripping force of order 0.01 Newton. It is shown both experimentally and theoretically that the artificial finger with the piezoelectric actuator works well in the minute force holding of the tiny object.

  • The AIN(Advanced Intelligent Network) employs the Intelligent Network Application Protocol(INAP) which is transparent to services and low layer telecommunication networks. In this paper, we introduce the standard structure of INAP, which has flexible structure for easy expansion as AIN evolves, and we propose a structure of INAP by defining its functional elements. Also we design, analyze the INAP for AAB(Automatic Alternative Billing) service, which is one of the target services of IN CS-1 using object-oriented methodology. We use OMT method which is modified by ObjectGEODE in the analysis phase and SDL language for design. Furthermore we simulate the INAP system to prove that the system has been correctly built and supplies the service correctly for which it was designed.

  • Grid portal services provide more flexible research environment by overcoming time and space limit of existing application-based grid services. However user's requirements such as user interfaces are not clear during development cycle and changed frequently. Therefore it is necessary to reduce the cost for creating and maintaining user interfaces of grid services. In this paper, we suggest an object-oriented user control model which allows easier development of user interfaces and increases code reusability by abstracting objects from presentation layer of web. In this model, structure of presentation pages can be described more clearly and implementation of actions is simple and easy.
