Arsenic에 노출된 틸라피아, Oreochromis niloticus의 항산화 효소반응에 미치는 수온의 영향 (Thermal effects on antioxidant enzymes response in Tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus exposed Arsenic)

  • 본 연구에서는 수온변화에 따른 비소 (As) 노출의 영향을 틸라피아 Oreochromis niloticus의 간과 아가미에서 항산화 방어기작 (antioxidant defense system)을 통해 알아보고자 한다. 틸라피아를 수온이 각각, 20, 25 및 $30^{\circ}C$ 일때, 비소 농도 0, 200 및 $400{\mu}g/L$에서 10일간 노출시킨 후, glutathione (GSH) levels, glutathione reductase (GR), glutathione peroxidase (GPx) and glutathione S-treansferase (GST) 효소 활성을 측정하였다. 비소 노출 이후, 틸라피아의 간과 아가미에서 이들 항산화 효소는 수온 변화에 따라 유의하게 변화하였다. 특히, 다른 온도구간에 비하여 수온이 $30^{\circ}C$ 일 때, 비소에 노출된 틸라피아의 간에서 이들 효소의 변동폭은 가장 유의하게 증가하였다. 즉, 본 연구는 틸라피아의 간과 아가미에서 GSH 및 항산화 효소인 GR, GPx 및 GST에 미치는 비소의 영향은 수온 상승이 동반되었을 때, 어류의 산화 스트레스에 대한 방어 기작의 감소를 촉진시켰음을 보여준다.

국가 보호지역 통합 시스템의 양적 확대 목표에 대한 평가 (Evaluating Quantitative Expansion Goals of the National Protected Areas Integrated System)

  • The study is conducted to establish the National Protected Areas Integrated System(NPAIS) which includes National Protected Areas(NPAs) and other conservation measures in terms of effective ways for biodiversity conservation. Additionally, it is carried out to evaluate progress toward quantitative expansion goals in Aichi biodiversity Target 11. The NPAIS consists of NPAs and other effective area-based conservation measures(OECMs). There are two different types of OECMs. OECMs type I, including water-source protection Areas(WPA), riparian zones(RZ), fishery-resource protection zones (FPZ), and urban natural park zones(UNPZ), is a potential protected area which is recommended to be incorporated into the NPAs for effective management. OECMs type II means development restriction zones(DRZ), natural recreation forests(NRF), and buffer zones for Korea national arboretum(BKNA). As a result of evaluating the quantitative expansion goals of the NPAIS, terrestrial and inland water protected areas exceed 17% of the quantitative goal in Aichi biodiversity Target 11. The larger the area of individual OECMs and the lower the degree of overlap with NPAs, the higher the contribution of them to the terrestrial and inland water protected areas. DRZ contributes to enlarge more than 3% of quantitative expansion. And RZ and NRF contribute more than 1%. The marine protected areas are expanded by $1,425km^2$ through FPZ, but the expanded area is very small as comparing with the total marine area. It adds only 0.321% to the quantitative expansion. The rest of OECMs also has very poor quantitative expansion contributions in the marine area. Consequently, the NPAIS is effective for quantitative expansion of land areas, but not for marine areas.

  • 이 연구는 투라치의 형태 및 골격 관찰을 위해 2017년에 여수시 돌산도와 부산에서 채집한 3개체를 대상으로 외부형태를 관찰하고 내부 골격을 삶아 채골하여 관찰하였다. 형태적 특징은 다음과 같다. 몸은 길고 측편되어 있었고, 위턱은 앞으로 돌출됐다. 체색은 은백색을 띠고 있었고, 눈은 크며, 가슴지느러미와 꼬리지느러미는 등쪽으로 향해 있었다. 작은 돌기들이 배쪽에 머리 뒤부터 꼬리까지 있었다. 새파 수는 (3~4)+(7~8)개였다. 등지느러미 줄기는 185~190개였고, 가슴지느러미는 12~13개, 꼬리지느러미에는 9개의 연조와, 5+2개의 짧은 극조가 있었다. 골격 특징은 다음과 같다. 주상악골은 길고 4개의 이빨이 있었다. 치골은 삼각형 모양이었고, 간새개골과 하새개골은 크고 넓었으며, 5개의 새조골이 있었다. 후쇄골은 가늘고 길게 발달 되어있었다. 척추골은 79~80개였고, 후방 추골은 길었으며, 미부봉상골에는 5~6개의 돌기가 있었다.

적조기상정보 : 기상인자를 활용한 연안 적조예측기술 개발 (Meteorological Information for Red Tide : Technical Development of Red Tide Prediction in the Korean Coastal Areas by Meteorological Factors)

  • 한국 연안 전 해역에 걸쳐서 매년 적조생물이 발생 한다. (1995년부터). 남해 중부 및 동부해역은 상습발생 지역이다 (7, 8월). 기상인자(기온, 수온, 강수량, 일사량, 일조시수, 바람)는 적조형성에 기여하며, 특히 수온 (기온)은 적조발생의 제한 인자로 작용한다. 수온 15$^{\circ}$C가 되는 일을 기점으로 적조발생에 소요되는 시간은 78${\sim}$104일 정도 걸리며, 누적일조시수, 누적수온, 누적강우량의 비교로부터 적조발생 해역을 구분할 수 있다. 즉, 남해중부 및 남해동부 해역은 고밀도 적조발생 해역이며 남해서부 해역, 동해남부 해역은 저밀도 적조발생 해역이다. 동해남부 해역을 제외한 나머지 해역은 수온 24.5${\sim}$25.5$^{\circ}$C의 범위에서 1000mg/l 이상의 밀도를 보이는데, 적조생물이 발생하면 대체로 수산피해를 가져다주는 적조경보의 범주에 든다. 위성원격탐사 기술로부터 우리나라 연근해 적조발생 해역 해황특성과 적조분포 상호간의 관계성으로부터 적조의 머무름과 이동은 냉수대의 발달 및 소멸 그리고 북상난류의 흐름과 밀접한 관계가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 식물성플랑크톤의 농도의 변화를 이용하여 적조분포 해역의 감지가 위성위격탐사 기술로 가능하였다. GIS 기술을 통한 적조정보관리시스템의 구축으로 적조정보를 통한 공간분석이 가능하게 되었다.

해양환경 기반 한국 연근해 어장 민감도 평가 기술 개발 (Development of Evaluation Method of Fisheries Sensitivity to Ocean Environments in Korea Waters)

  • Although scientist have been reporting recently that changes in ocean environment influence the species composition, movements, and growth of fish in Korea waters. Previous studies on fish vulnerability owing to climate changes are insufficient to explain the effect of fluctuating ocean environments on fisheries ground. In this study, we suggested a method for the assessment of fisheries sensitivity to various factors in ocean environments in Korean waters. To evaluate the fisheries sensitivity, catch data (Chub mackerel, Hairtail, Common squid, small yellow croaker) from National federation of fisheries cooperatives in Korea (1991-2017) and oceanographic data from Korea Ocean Data Center (KODC; 1960-2017) were normalized using the z-score method. Thereafter, the fisheries sensitivity was calculated using the difference between the catch data and the oceanographic data. Finally, the fisheries sensitivity was evaluated based on evaluation grade ratings. Result revealed that in the south sea, variability in catch data was obviously higher than environmental fluctuation (evaluation grade 1), indicating that catch variability in response to environmental change is most sensitive in the south sea among Korean waters in 2017. These results would be helpful for fishery management and policy for sustainable yield in Korean waters.

대문어 연안복합어업의 경제적 적정어획노력량 추정 -강원도 연안복합어업을 대상으로- (Estimating optimal fishing effort of giant octopus, Enteroctopus dofleini by combo fishing - In the case of combo fishing in Gangwon -)

  • In order to manage and rebuild fishery resources, the fishing effort should be controlled effectively. Especially in the setting up of the proper level of fishing efforts, economic standards as well as biological standards must be carefully considered to promote the sustainable and economically viable development of fisheries. This study is aimed to estimate optimal fishing effort of giant octopus by combo fishing which uses longline in Gangwon with statistical data. The result showed that current fishing effort is 28% higher than $E_{MEY}$. Unit fishing cost for each voyage will be 27% lower and unit fishing profit will be 17% higher than the current situation when the fishing effort meets $E_{MEY}$. Although current fishing effort is similar to the $E_{MSY}$, current catching is 16% higher than MSY and 22% higher than MEY.

  • Fetal bovine serum (FBS) is an essential element of cell growth and can also affect the viral replication. In this study, we tried to find out whether FBS concentration affects the viral infectivity titer of IHNV and IPNV. EPC cells were suspended with MEM supplemented with various concentrations of FBS (MEM0, MEM2, MEM5 and MEM10) and cultured in 96-well plate. Each virus was 10-fold diluted virus and inoculated in 96-well plate. The highest infectivity titer of IHNV was $10^{7.88}\;TCID_{50}/mL$ in 96-well plate using MEM5 and the lowest one was $10^{7.30}\;TCID_{50}/mL$ in 96-well plate using MEM10. The highest infectivity titer of IPNV was $10^{7.47}\;TCID_{50}/mL$ in 96-well plate using MEM5 and the lowest one was $10^{6.97}\;TCID_{50}/mL$ in 96-well plate using MEM10. This study showed that not only 0% FBS but 10% FBS leads low infectivity titer of IHNV and IPNV. Therefore, it is considered that the desirable concentration of FBS is 2% or 5% for measurement of infectivity titer of IHNV and IPNV.

Introduction of bacterial and viral pathogens from imported ornamental finfish in South Korea

  • Background: Live fish import may lead to the unintended introduction of pathogens. We examined the monthly distribution of microbial pathogens in ornamental finfish imported into South Korea over a 6-month period. Results: Vibrio alginolyticus was detected in one lemon damsel in June and July; V. vulnificus was detected in one lemon damsel, one caerulean damsel, and one pearl-spot chromis and one ocellaris clownfish in July, April, and May, respectively; Photobacterium damselae was detected in one ocellaris clownfish and one caerulean damsel in June and July, respectively; V. anguillarum was detected in one pearl-spot chromis in February; V. harveyi was detected in one ocellaris clownfish and two mandarin fish in February and April, respectively; Yersinia ruckeri was detected in a pearlscale goldfish group in June and July and in two colored carp groups in July; and Lactococcus garvieae was detected in a lemon damsel group and a sutchi catfish group in July and May, respectively. European catfish virus, the only viral pathogen detected, was found in two sutchi catfish groups in May. Conclusion: This study is the first to identify pathogenic species and the presence or absence of pathogens (non-quarantine diseases) in imported ornamental finfish. These results demonstrate that various pathogens with the potential to harm indigenous fish populations can accompany ornamental finfish imported into South Korea.

직업분류에 따른 의료비 지출 규모와 영향 요인 (Influence Factors on Medical Expenditure according of Occupation Classification)

  • 본 연구는 직업분류에 따른 의료비 지출 영향요인을 분석하였다. 한국의료패널(Korea Health Panel)의 2012년도 데이터를 이용하여 만20세 이상의 성인을 대상으로 결측값을 제외한 총 4,538명을 최종 분석대상으로 하였다. 자료분석은 의료비 지출 영향요인을 분석하기 위하여 로지스틱 회귀분석을 하였다. 연구분석 결과 Model 1은 단순노무 종사자에 비해 농림어업 숙련 종사자, Model 2의 경우 직종의 경우 판매 종사자에 비해 단순노무 종사자에서 의료비 지출 증가에 영향을 주는 것으로 분석되었다. 성별은 남자에 비해 여자, 혼인은 무에 비해 유, 소득계층은 1분위에 비해 4분위, 5분위, 만성질환은 무에 비해 유에서 의료비 지출이 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서, 건강검진 또는 예방활동 활성화를 위한 보건의료정책 및 보건학적 접근에 있어서 직종, 만성질환 등을 반영한 보다 체계화된 접근이 필요하다.

위성전자표지와 해양환경자료를 이용한 방어(Seriola quinqueradiata) 이동경로 추적 연구 (Tracking of Yellowtail Seriola quinqueradiata Migration Using Pop-up Satellite Archival Tag (PSAT) and Oceanic Environments Data)

  • Yellowtail Seriola quinqueradiata tagged with a Pop-up Satellite Archival Tag (PSAT) was released off the coast of near the Moseulpo, Jeju Island and the ecological data during about 40 days was obtained. However, it is difficult to determine the spatial location of underwater ecological data. To improve the accuracy of estimating the Yellowtail migration route using temperature, suitable background field of the oceanic environment data was evaluated and used for input data. After developing of the tracking algorithm for migration route estimation, three experiment cases were estimated with ecological data among the surface layer, the mixed layer, and the whole water column. All tracking experiments move from western to eastern Jeju Island. Additionally, tracking experiment using 3D ocean numerical model reveal that it is possible to estimate the migration route using the fish ecological data of the entire water column. Therefore, using a large number of ecological data and a high-accuracy ocean numerical model to estimate the migration route seems to be a way to increase the accuracy of the tracking experiment. Moreover, the tracking algorithm of this study can be applied to small pelagic fishery using small archival electronic tags to track the migration route.
