This study is implemented in the Department of Emergency Medical Technology of the Cheju Halla College in to evaluate behavioral changes in the recognition of the importance of the first aid, coping ability in the field, and competence of the first aid skills after taking the in-service program. The in-service program was hold from December 14 to December 22, 1998 under the title of "1998 First Aid and Emergency Rescue Training" for 176 drivers. The Questionnaire was distributed to 176 drivers, among them, 88 drivers took in-service program and 88 ones did not. After the data analysis, following conclusions we re made. 1. There are no significant statistical differences among demographic factors such as the level of education, age, career, and marital state of the subjects in the recognition of the importance of the first aid and competence of the first aid skills. 2. The drivers, who were the in-service program, significantly higher score in educated in represented all the area of recognition of the importance of first aid than non-educated drivers. 3. The drivers, who were educated in the in-service program, showed also significantly high score in competence of the first aid skills. According to the conclusions, there were significant change made In the recognition of the importance of the first aid and competence of the first aid skills after the in-service program. Therefore, nationwide emergency training program should be considered to improve emergency care ability of the nation. To make the program more effective for drivers, the in-service program should be required to newly licensed drivers during orientations or licence issuing.

Since a few years ago, great disasters have often took place in domestic and abroad, such as Sampoong Department store collapse, Sea-land disaster accident, Incheon Hof fire accidents. Whenever a lot of accidents occurred such as fire, gas explosion, traffic accident, mountain accident, various disease, people required 119 first aid service. As the result, even for the last year, average 2,608 person per day were temporary treated and carried to near hospital by 119 system. But first-aid team or first grade EMT(emergency medical technician) that should provide high quality service and save important lives, might have negatively treated or made their duty only for simple transfer, when they were imminent of emergency case in every kinds of accident spot. Because they worried about medical dispute for "task restriction for EMT" decided by medical laws or rules of first aid. So it was proposed that "task restriction for EMT" should be mitigated or released in the possible range on this occasion.
Data collected from crossbred dairy cattle at the Institut Haiwan, Kluang, were used to evaluate the effects of breed of sire, percentage of Bos taurus inheritance and season of birth on some calving traits. Breed of sire effect was significant on age at first service (p < 0.01), age at first calving (p < 0.01) and postpartum interval to first service (p < 0.05) but not on calving interval (p > 0.05). Linear contrasts indicate that crossbred-sired cows had first service 593 days earlier and first calving 508 days earlier than purebred-sired cows. Cows sired by Friesians, however, had the earliest first service (466 days) and were among the earliest at first calving (917 days). However, the crossbred-sired cows had slightly longer post-partum interval to first service (13 days longer) and calving interval (20 days longer). Percentage of B. taurus inheritance affected (p < 0.01) all the calving traits studied. In general, the cows with 50% inheritance had the best calving performance. Season of birth had no effect (p > 0.05) on them.
Currently, the world has experienced a mass exodus of workforce from the manufacturing industry to service related industry. In addition, the changes of industry structure toward service industry have been gradually accelerated. We have felt that it is time to conduct researches about IT service systematizing and discovering the essence of service itself with scientific and synthetic ways based on Service Science. For Service Science researchers, service identification is regarded as a difficult activity when they contact it for the first time and they want to apply it real environment. In reality, there exist mismatches between business and IT service to identify service since service is identified from the business point of view in Service Science area and it is identified from the technical point of view in IT service area. In this paper, we have conducted researches about service identification placed on the first priority and regarded as difficult area in service-oriented business area. To lessen aforementioned difficulties, we propose procedures and methods for extracting and identifying service in the viewpoint of business process. We conducted case study and comparison with existing researches to verify the applicability and the excellence of our proposal.

The one of the important problems in the design of queueing systems is the decision of the order of service stations. The object of this problem is the decision of the order that minimizes the expected sojourn time per customer in the given arrival process and service time distributions. In this paper, the tandem queueing system in series is studied with the emphasis on the optimal order of the tandem queueing system which has three stations with single servers. In one system, customers arrive at the first station with Poisson process. This system is composed of service stations with a constant, a general distribution and a Exponential distribution is studied. To select the optimal order after the orders of each pair of two stations is decided, it is compared the two orders of system. With this results, total expected delay of the systems which has three stations is compared. The result is the best that service station with constant time is on the first place, then the service station with general distribution and the service station with Exponential distribution is followed. And the other system is consist of service stations with a constant and two probabilistic distributions. In this case, two probabilistic distributions has a non-overlapping feature. It is the optimal order that the service station with constant time is on the first place then the service station with longer service time and the service station with shorter service time is followed.
Purpose : Centering on users(patients) who are offered the patient transport service by the emergency medical service system in our country, the use and satisfaction are analyzed with the transport service in 119 Emergency Medical Service System and Private transport agent. Results : 1. As for personnel in ambulance cars, 119 emergency staff showed a higher boarding rate of the first-class emergency medical technicians than private transportation centers : 48.4% and 17.7%, respectively. 2. Private transportation centers showed higher user satisfaction with transportation service than 119 emergency staff, which was not statistically significant. 3. As for the case that needs to receive the transport service in the future, the ratio with the will to use 119 Emergency Medical Service System(70.9%) was indicated to be much higher than the ratio of the private transport agent(29.1%). Suggestions : First, Centers transporting first-aid patients should essentially secure a sufficient number of first-class emergency medical technicians as professional emergency medical staff to reinforce qualitative improvement in emergency medical service. Second, It is necessary to establish a systematic monitoring system and develop educational programs in order to enhance satisfaction with the use of 119 emergency staff. Third, the government or the local government needs to positively support and guide the private transport agent, which is in charge of the public medical service.
Purpose: The old axion to put the customers first (e.g., customers are king, customers are always right) has been taken for granted in the service sector. In addition, many companies in South Korea are providing customer-first education for employees at their contact points to strengthen their competitiveness. However, excessive increase in the psychological power of the customer can lead to a problem of abuse of power, called 'Gap-jil.' Despite these concerns, most companies hardly discard policies to give high priority to customers because of the assumption that it enhances customer satisfaction leading to organizational performance. However, in recent years, some franchise catering companies have posted warnings about the abuse of power by customers, and a movement to pursue a power-balancing between service providers and their customers is spreading. Research design, data, and methodology: This research is conducted to reconsider the principle of the customer-first perspective and to create a basis for arguments that can solve the problem of abuse of power, which is recognized as a serious social problem. In this research, we test and analyze the effect of customers' psychological power in the context of a restaurant on expectation for service and response to service failure. Result: The result of an experimental study shows that the effect of psychological power on customer satisfaction can be somewhat negative. Also, customers with high psychological power are more likely to have high service expectations. Especially high psychological power of customers causes a difference in the expectation level of human factors such as employee attitude, while the difference in expectations of non-human factors such as restaurant atmosphere was not statistically significant. In addition, when customers with high psychological power encounter service failure situation, they are more likely to feel disappointment and regret with a service provider. Meanwhile, the effect of psychological power on complaining behaviors are not significant. Conclusions: The findings of this research provide meaningful implications that the service providers should reconsider their existing corporate culture and management policies that put customers first. In addition, the result of this research is provided meaningful opportunities to review the management philosophy for the company's customers and the education philosophy for the employee education.

Logistic Regression Analysis was used to compute the odds ratio (OR) and probability of conception of Holstein dairy cows of AL-MARAIE company. Data consisted of 103,778 reproductive records collected from three farms in the central region in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Records were classified according to lactation number, season of calving and milk level. At first lactation, OR of first service was 0.63 of other services and probability of pregnancy from first services was 0.39. Odds ratio increased to 1.72 at fourth lactation or probability of conception reached 0.63. The probability of conception increased from 0.39 for cows inseminated at first services to 0.75 at fifth service insemination. Odds ratio of cows calving in winter were higher than those calving in summer. Odds ratio of conception of low producing cows is about twice as likely to occur from first service as from other services. However, OR of conception of high producing cows was higher than one (probability=0.56) from first service and increased to 1.63 (probability=0.65) from third service. Odds ratio was in favor of the right uterus horn where probability of conception from first service was slightly greater than 50% in first and second lactations and less than 50% in favor of left horn in later lactations.

It is a daunting task to theorize the process effectiveness of IT convergence based service model. Despite the criticalness of investigating process enhancement impact of IT-convergence based service model, the theoretical research in this field is relatively scarce, possibly due to the too wide and comprehensiveness of research scope. In this vein, we conducted exploratory study to understand the contributional impact of IT convergence based service model on resolving service process limitations. We first identified five IT convergence based service models in the area of typical service industry, which include entertainment, learning, location based services, tourism, and healthcare. Our research model classified value creation factors of the IT convergence model in twofold. The one is defined as basic value creation factor of the IT convergence, which is treated as the second-order factor that consists of two first-order factors of mobile functionality and Internet with digital contents merging functionality. The other is defined as service process limitations resolving factor which are comprised with the two first-order factors of simultaneousity and perishability. Both the second-order factors are modeled, each respectively, with the two first-order factors in formative manner. Using PLS, empirical validation is executed to analyze each value creating factor's contribution impact on the relative advantage, as well as the mediating effect of basic value creation factor on resolving service process limitations. On the basis of the insights revealed from this paper, further theory building research could be elaborated in the area of IT convergence applications for service industry.
The purpose of the study was to assess customer satisfaction concerning service quality characteristics of university foodservice by using a developed DINESERV model. In particular, it was intended to develop a tool to assess the difference between customer judgements on importance and customers perceptions with actual service delivery by university foodservices. Quenstionnaires were distributed to 1,000 university students. A total at 820 university students responded with a usable response rate of 77.7%. A statistical data analysis was completed using SAS programs for descriptive analysis; a t-test, chi-square test and Dunan's multiple range test. The results of the study are as follows; 1) The mean number of students visiting university foodservices per week for males was larger than that of females. The students' first choice depended on distance when they selected foodservices. They answered their preference as the first factor when they order a particular menu items in foodservices. The first complaint factor concerning university foodservices was the price of the food. 2) Customers was not satisfied with the quality of the service of university foodservices. The important mean score of the service quality was 3.63 out of 5, but the perception mean score of the service quality was 2.87. Therefore, there was a gap(0.76) between the importance score and perception score. 3) Customers' satisfaction with the service quality by dimensions wee int he follow order: assurance>reliability>responsiveness>tangibles>empathy. Customers were more satisfied with the service quality of contracted management than that of self-operated facilities.
