In this study, main parameters: aperture, first bend and second bend which express a structure of ear canal are extracted in order to modeling and manufacture the ready-made ear shells of hearing aids. The proposed parameter extraction method consists of 2 important algorithms, aperture detection and feature detection. In the aperture detection algorithm, aperture of 3-D scanned virtual ear impression and parameters relating to ear shell of hearing aid are determined. The feature detection algorithm detects first bend, second bend, and related parameters. Through these two algorithms, parameters for aperture, first bend, and second bend are extracted to model the ready-made ear shell of hearing aid. The values of these extracted parameters from 36 people's right ear impression are analyzed and measured statistically. As a result of the analysis, it has been found that it is possible to classify ready-made ear shell parameters by age and size. The ready-made ear shell parameters are classified 3-size for 20 years old and 2-size for 60 years olde. Using 3D rhino program, virtual ready-made ear shell is reconstructed by parameters of every type, and simulated to model it. A final product was produced by transferring simulation result with rapid prototyping system. The modeled ready-made ear shell is evaluated with the objective and subjective method. Objective method is the comparison volume ratio and overlapped volume ratio of ear impression from randomly chosen 18 people and ready-made ear shell. And subjective method is that the final product of ready-made ear shell is used by users and the satisfaction number drawn from well fitting and comfortable testing was evaluated. In the result of the evaluation, it has been found that volume ration is 70%, big and middle size ready-made ear shell products are possible, and the satisfaction number is high.
This study was designed to development of stock tray for Korean. The subjects for this study were 374 persons(male : 204, female : 170) with age $19{\sim}28$. The study models were made with irreversible hydrocolloid impression material and conventional stock tray, Individual trays were made on the study model and the master models were made after impression with polysulfide rubber impression material. Each of the master models measured 12 measuring points on the maxillary model and 13 measuring points on the mandibular model with digital sliding caliper. The values were analyzed statistically by SAS analysis. The measuring points were analysed and were consulted for the development of new stock tray for Korean. Maxillary models were divided into four groups acceding to the width between buccal alveolar ridges below the contact point of first molar and second molar. The size of new tray of the upper first group was 82mm (width), 60mm(length). That of the upper second group was 77mm (width), 59mm (length). That of the upper third group was 72mm (width), 58mm (length). And that of the upper fourth group was 67mm (width), 57mm (length). Mandibular models were devided into three group according to the width between lingual alveolar ridges below the second molar. The size of new tray on lower first group was 40mm (width), 55mm (length). That of the lower second group was 36mm (width), 55mm (length). And that of the third group was 32mm (width), 55mm (length). The author tested the fitness of newly designed stock tray in 52 subjects with normal occlusion and obtained good results that the problems of conventional stock tray were worked out.
PURPOSE. The aim of this study was to analyze the shapes of lingual polished surfaces in lower complete dentures formed by polished surface impressions and to provide reference data for use when manufacturing edentulous trays and lower complete dentures. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Twenty-six patients with mandibular edentulism were studied. After lower wax dentures were fabricated, wax was removed from the lingual side of the wax denture and a lingual polished surface impression was obtained with tissue conditioner. The definitive denture was scanned with a three-dimensional scanner, and scanned images were obtained. At the cross-sections of the lingual frenum, lateral incisors, first premolars, first molars, and anterior border of the retromolar pads, three points were marked and eight measurements were taken. The Kruskal-Wallis test and a post hoc analysis with the Mann-Whitney test were performed. RESULTS. Each patient showed similar values for the same areas on the left and right sides without a statistically significant difference. The height of the contour of the lingual polished surface at the lingual frenum was halfway between the occlusal plane and lingual border, it moved gradually in a downward direction. The angle from the occlusal plane to the height of the contour of the lingual polished surface was increased as it progressed from the lingual frenum towards the retromolar pads. CONCLUSION. The shape of the mandibular lingual polished surface was convex at the lingual frenum, lateral incisors and gradually flattened towards the first molars and retromolar pads.
The purpose of this study is to investigate whether characteristics of the perceiver make differences in impressions of clothing types in the situation of first impression formation. Questionnaire was used as major method of gathering data. A poll of 650 men h women between the ages of 20∼39 living in Daegu was taken by the author for this study. Factor analysis, cluster analysis, frequency, ANOVA-test and t-test were implemented with the SPSS-package. The characteristics of clothing types used in our experiments include: sexy, masculine, feminine, dramatic, elegant-classic and casual. The results are as follows; 1 . Men favored sexy clothes more than women, whereas women tended to like masculine clothes more than men. 2. Positive, open-minded men were accepting of masculine, feminine, dramatic and elegant-classic clothes, but gave unfavorable responses toward casual clothes. In contrast, positive open-minded women continued to show unfavorable impressions of sexy clothes. Attitude towards clothing affected the outlook towards clothing by the perceiver 3. Clothing-dependent/vain men favored sexy, dramatic and elegant-classic clothes, while clothing-indifferent men tended toward casual clothes. Furthermore, clothing-dependent/vain women were interested in the feminine style, but women in general continued to show negative responses toward sexy and dramatic clothes.
The purpose of this study was (1) to identify the experimental bias which could appear person perception as results of development methods (2) to find out the most desirable method in developments of stimulus. The research was a quasi experiment and the subjects were 358 male and female undergraduate students by convenient sampling. The experimental instruments consisted of a set of stimulus and semantic differential scales of 7-point bi-polar adjectives. The collected data were analyzed by Principle Component Analysis, ANOVA(analysis of variance), Scheffe's multiple range test. The independent variables were developing methods of stimulus(live person, photography of real person, 2 kinds of black and white line drawing, 2 kinds of color drawing). The results were as follows. First, five factors which were potency, sociality, appearance, evaluation, activity impressional dimensions emerged to account for the methods of development of stimulus. Second, the methods of development of stimulus had significant effects on potency, sociality, appearance, activity factors. In sociality factors, the impression of photographic stimulus was the closest to the live person's impression. However in the appearance and activity impressions, significant difference existed between live person and other developing stimulus. In the potency impression, black and white line-drawing gave the highest impressional bias. In the sociability and appearance impressions, color-drawing stimulus gave the highest impressional bias. Result: On conclusion the developments of stimulus can effect on stimulus person's impressions and these effects can produce experimental biases, the photographic stimulus gave the least impressional bias. The study shows that photography of real person will produce minimize measurement error.

The image and impression characteristics of the consumer electronic products have become an important factor in purchasing decisions. This study aims to analyze and interpret the image and impression characteristics based on the consumer preference survey. The survey consisted of two parts. First part was to measure the predetermined 52 design variables that can represent the design variables of the products. In the second part, 60 subjects were requested to evaluate 36 audio/video electronic products on 25 different image attributes such as luxuriousness, attractiveness, and granularity. In this study, empirical data from the survey were analyzed through various multivariate analysis and ANOVA analysis. Additionally, this study suggested a statistical procedure that can be applied to select and/or screen critical design variables. It is expected that the results of this study can provide practical information to the designers of consumer electronic products.
A face is the place where individuals can first give their images visually. This chapter presents how 'Visual optical illusion' works in applying makeup and how to differentiate the direction, location and shape of Lip in the aspect of physiognomy. For this study, employed were five types of face shape produced by Photoshop program. The best-matched facial shape was examined through a questionnaire research after applying the optical illusion of Lip to the five types of face shape. The results were revealed to be identical to ones presented in make-up teaching materials. In conclusion, it was found that well-matched shape and size of Lip could make some changes in the facial impression, changing the face shape into oval shape. The facial line can be modified and supplemented by reshaping such facial parts as the Lip, producing well-balanced facial shape. Consequently, make-up was proved to be one of the methods which can be used to create social and psychological effect which can make a favorable facial impression and individuality, natural impression and image making depending on different purposes, taking advantage of optical illusion effect.

This paper mainly studies the national impression of college students on South Korea, selects students from some key universities as the target population, and conducts an in-depth investigation from the overall impression of South Korea, diplomatic image, food culture, language culture, tourism, entertainment circle and other aspects. Through a questionnaire survey of Chinese college students, this paper studies the image of South Korea in the eyes of contemporary Chinese college students, including the following aspects: First, Research the current Chinese college students' perception of the overall image of South Korea; Second, it studies the current Chinese college students' perception of the image of South Korea in the diplomatic, language, food, tourism and entertainment circles, and analyzes the internal dimensions of the image of South Korea in the minds of Chinese college students; Third, it studies the current Chinese college students' cognition of the overall image of South Koreans, and analyzes the internal dimensions of the image of South Koreans in the minds of Chinese college students; Fourth, to investigate the evaluation of Chinese college students on the image of South Korea. The survey results are analyzed from the perspectives of all subjects and gender differences, combined with the theories of communication and intercultural communication, and suggestions and prospects for the future development of the national image are made.

This study aims to evaluate the residential exterior environment and ascertain the factors having an effect on the visual environment viewed through the living room window. This study is based on a questionnaire on the exterior environment targeting residents living in the area of Nohyunng in Jeju city, Jeju-do. The results are as follows. First, residents are satisfied with the exterior environment as a whole; however, the longer-term residents' level of satisfaction is found to be relatively low while dissatisfaction is high. Additionally, there is a difference in satisfaction and dissatisfaction levels between the residents in their own housing and those in rental housing. The residents living in rental housing were found to have a relatively low level of satisfaction and high dissatisfaction. Second, in the case where the living room window faces roads, low satisfaction and high dissatisfaction levels with the visual environment were found, where the living room is on the first or second floor. Third, satisfaction and dissatisfaction with the exterior environment have a close correlation to the impression or nature elements of 26 questions but they show low correlation in size, height, color, design, traffic, artifact elements. Finally, as a result of extracting the factors influencing satisfaction and dissatisfaction with the visual environment, four factors were extracted including "Impression & Nature factor", "Building factor", "Design factor", and "Traffic volume & Artifacts factor". "Impression & Nature factors" is the most influencing factor with satisfaction and dissatisfaction and "Traffic volume & Artifacts factor" was found to have an effect on satisfaction, but not as clearly on dissatisfaction.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of reproduction of stone casts made from complete-arch impressions using different trays. The trays used were : 1) nonperforated custom tray, 2) perforated custom tray, 3) nonperforated Rim-Lock tray, 4) perforated stock tray. Impressions were made from an dentulous acrylic resin model with metal inserts in first premolars and second molars. Transverse distance, sagittal distance and diagonal distance were measured using 4 landmarks. Measurements were made by using 3 dimensional measuring machine. The impression material used was an addition silicone. Impressions were poured at once with a Type IV dental stone. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and student t-test with a sample size of five. The results were as follows : 1. There were statistical differences in amount of dimensional change in according to the tray types. In amount of mean dimensional change, perforated custom tray was the first smallest, nonperforated custom tray was the second, nonperforated Rim-Lock tray and perforated stock tray were the largest. 2. There were statistical differences in amount of dimensional change between nonperforated custom tray and nonperforated Rim-Lock tray, and between perforated custom tray perforated stock tray. 3. There were satistical differences in amount of dimensional change between nonperforated custom tray and perforated custom tray, but there was not a statistical difference between nonperforated Rim-Lock tray and perforated stock tray. 4. There was not a statistical difference in amount of dimensional change between upper and lower arch in all tray types.
