From January, 2004 to July, 2007, 97 patients were diagnosed with Acute coronary syndrome(ACS) in Emergency Medical Center in Jecheon City in Korea. Among 97 patients, the prehospital assessment rates were as follows ; blood pressure check(27.80%, pulse rate check(33.0%), respiration check(23.7%). In hospital emergency care, oxygen supply was 52.6%, absolute bed rest was 12.4%, electrocardiogram(EKG) check was 4.1%, and nitroglycerin and intravenous fluid therapy was 0%. Therefore, ACS patients have not received sufficient prehospital cares till now. In order to improve the proficiency of the first aid emergency medical technicians(EMTs), it is necessary to provide the continuing On-the-job training(OJT) programs for prehospital emergency care.
Purposes: This study was designed to survey current and past health promotion programs in schools and to assess the needs of health promotion programs based upon the opinions of health teachers. Methods: Self-report questionnaire were given to health teachers who attended board meetings in each province or who participated in a qualification training course in Daegu. The questionnaire was developed by authors and revised it based on experts' advice. Results: The most common health promotion programs were sexual education, sexual violence prevention, drug abuse prevention, first aid, dental health. In contrast, many mental health promotion programs, such as suicide prevention, ADHD, and those involving personality disorders were all relatively uncommon. The needs of health promotion programs showed almost same priority with health promotion programs that are being done. Conclusions: The development of effective health promotion programs requires input from students, parents, teachers, experts, and health teachers.
The purpose of this study was to determine the level of reasonable consumer habits of adolescents based on their consumer socialization, consumer education, and purchasing skills, and to determine their brand orientation based on facts that adolescent years is the determining period for consumer socialization, that their role as consumers take up relative importance, and that consumer habits during this period is extremely important. The directions of consumer education for forming a reasonable consumer culture for adolescents based on the results of the study are presented as follows. First, by conducting a training program for consumer counselor that supports courses such as consumer aid that are held for adolescent consumers, adolescents must be led towards logical purchase habits and to practice reasonable purchase habits. Second, since consumer attitude that is learned and formed since youth is important, discussion sessions as well as consumer education programs that can foster proper consumer knowledge, attitude, and function needs to be developed by schools and the government. Third, This can form improper consumption values such as over consumptions, conspicuous consumption, and impulsive purchase that may appear in their adult years; therefore, a consumer education program must be continued in the homes, schools, and by the government so that adolescents can learn manage reasonable consumer values and consumer habits.
Purpose: This study explores school nurses' emergency care experiences and their needs for systemic institutional support. Methods: Data were collected in 2016 from the interviews with five focus groups comprising thirty school nurses. Qualitative content analysis was then performed using the collected data. Results: The study found that school nurses were vulnerable to over-reaction in uncertain situations as the school's sole health service provider. The study's findings are divided into ten categories. 1) Major obstacles to overcome as the sole health service provider, 2) Assessing an uncertain situation and making appropriate decisions, 3) Providing limited first aid while maintaining control over the situation, 4) Referring or transferring a student to a hospital that creates tensions and raises cost, 5) Becoming an advocate for information disclosure and treatment, 6) Ensuring follow-up actions and proper transfer of responsibility, 7) Making preparations for future emergency, 8) Responding to conflicts arising from over-reaction as a safeguard and professional expertise, 9) Need for the development of standardized manual for school emergency care, 10) Need for practical case-based training. Conclusion: The findings of this study should contribute to the development of the programs aimed at improving school emergency care and the professional competence of school nurse.
Three German Shepherd dogs (5 years old, 30 kg, male; 4 years old, 23 kg, female; 4 years old, 24 kg, female) with history of acute vomiting, hemorrhagic diarrhea, anorexia and dullness were admitted to veterinary clinic in the military working dogs training corp (MWDTC). All of them showed same symptoms after ingestion the $'PREVNTIC^{(R)}'$ collar to control ecto-parasites infection in field. One dog was operated by gastrotomy and the $5{\sim}6$ pieces of the $'PREVNTIC^{(R)}'$ collar were removed. The dog was completely cured by intensive care within 2 hours after $'PREVNTIC^{(R)}'$ collar ingestion. However, two dogs were operated by gastrotomy and intensive care over 24 hours after $'PREVNTIC^{(R)}'$ collar ingestion but died. In autopsy, the $5{\sim}6$ pieces of hard materials were found in the stomach, and severe thickness, congestion hemorrhage and swelling of the stomach walls and mucous membrane were observed. In these cases, it was suggested that the first aid of treatment such as gastrotomy within two hours after $'PREVNTIC^{(R)}'$ collar ingestion as soon as possible was helpful for attenuating of toxicosis.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the structural relationship among child care center innovativeness, the early childhood(EC) teacher's digital literacy(DL), technostress and teacher efficacy. Methods: The participants were 454 EC teachers and were selected only if they had worked for more than one year. The innovativeness of childcare centers, the teacher's DL, technostress, and teacher efficacy were assessed through online self-report questionaries. Data were analyzed through ANOVA, t-test, and SEM. Results: First, DL and technostress of EC teachers differed in some ways depending on the teacher's demographic background, the characteristics of their working institution, and their educational level of digital skills. Second, the childcare center innovativeness directly had a significant positive effect on DL, technostress, and efficacy of the teachers. In addition, the effect of the innovativeness on teacher efficacy was mediated by DL and technostress of the teachers. Conclusion/Implications: The more efforts made of childcare centers for recognizing the rapid development of DL and trying to change, the better the teacher's scores of DL and the appropriate technostress were, which increases teacher efficacy. So, continuous training and education for teachers with consideration of age and teaching experience, as well as public aid to improve teachers' DL skills are required.
Objectives: Although a manual for a disaster medical support using Korean medicine doctors for disaster survivors has been developed, education programs for using the manual in disaster situations need to be developed. As the need for switchover to FA and for rationalization increases in the industrial world, educational courses in schools are more and more taking up the subjects of electronic machines, mechatronics and systems, etc., subjects which are a fusion of the previous subjects of electricity, electronics and machines. At our junior college, a control engineering course was inaugurated in 1974 prior to any other schools that offered such courses. As automation progressed, the use of industrial robots spread rapidly. The year of 1980 is regarded as the first year that the use of industrial robots become widespread. Responding to the current requests, a one-year research course was added to the control engineering course in 1983. Moreover, a robot engineering course was newly established in 1984, in which mechatronics and industrial robotics were instructed intensively in high efficiency. As a teaching aid, an air robot system which was based particularly on the FMS model and possessed pattern recognition capabilities was completed in 1982. This system has been used since then as the nucleus for hands-on training with robots and systems. As more and more intelligent machines and artificial intelligence become widespread in industry, these subjects are taking on greater importance and greater sophistication in the education offered by this department. Educational institutions are seeking to provide facilities and curricula which will meet the technological needs of this age. Our college is not an institution at the graduate school level, but rather a school which is at the more practical junior college level. An outline of the facilities introduced at our school is presented and the results of utilizing it in industrial robot engineering education is reported.
