섬도제어 연신공정에 의한 세섬화 양모 소재의 물성 연구 (Physical Properties and Dyeability of Fine Count Wool Yarns and Its Fabrics by Drawing Process of Fineness Control)

  • In the wool textile industry, the necessity for technology development has been steadily raised to create improved fineness and yarn count of existing wool yarns with thick fineness for ensuring higher quality grades of wool yarn. Recently, through controlling fineness of wool yarn for making finer wool in relation with environmentally-friendly and high-sensitivity trend, a differentiated continuous drawing process where the quality of wool can be artificially manipulated has been suggested in the latest textile industry. This study investigated the basic conditions during the continuous drawing process which enable to manufacture wool yarn with fine count by controlling reducing agent treatment, physical drawing and drying after reducing agent treatment, and oxidizing agent post-treatment conditions. Furthermore, this study reviewed the drawing effects by applying the basic conditions for reduction and oxidation reaction in the drawing processes of wool/cashmere, wool/silk, wool/polyester blended yarns as well as such wool yarns. Also, in order to review the practicability, this study examined the physical properties and dyeability of drawn wool yarn applied textile materials in comparison with normal wool yarn applied textile materials.

거주자의 거동으로 발생하는 바닥진동의 층간 전달 및 바닥충격음의 음압레벨 특성 평가 (Characteristics of Transmission of Floor Vibration and Floor Impact Noise Due to Human Activities)

  • Noise complaints among neighbors in apartment building are mainly caused by floor impact noise that is structure born noise due to occupant induced floor vibration. To control this noise problems many researchers have investigated floor systems and finishing materials. Light-weight impact noise affects by finishing materials, but heavy-weight impact noise induced by heel impacts during normal walking or jumping of children is concerned with structural system and floor vibration. To figure out the characteristics of floor impact noise and transmission of floor vibration due to human activities, vibration tests were conducted in apartment buildings. Impact hammer, heel drop and walking activities were loaded at center of upstairs living room, and accelerations of slabs for both upstairs and downstairs and sound pressure levels for downstairs were measured. The acceleration ratio of transmitted floor vibration to downstairs and human induced vibration in upstairs was between 0.5 and 1.0 according to slab size, wall, and load type. And floor impact noise occurred in the range of natural frequency of slab.

  • Hard turning replaces grinding for finishing process with expectations of higher productivity and demanded surface quality. Especially for the surface roughness as surface quality demanded in finishing process of hard turning, know-how of machining characteristics of hardened materials by cutting force analysis should be accumulated in company with achievement of precision of elements and high stiffness design technology in hard turning. Considering chip formation mechanism of hardened materials, adequate cutting conditions are selected for machining experiments and cutting forces are measured according to cutting conditions. Increase of cutting forces especially thrust force and increase of dynamic instability could occur in hard turning. Analysis of dynamic characteristics of the cutting forces is executed to investigate relation between dynamic instability and surface roughness in hard turning. Investigation on effects of relative motion of machining system generated by vibration due to dynamic instability shows that ultimate surface roughness could be predicted considering relative motion of machining system with geometrical surface roughness.

An Eight-directional Airborne Chloride Collection Method for the Application of an Appropriate Anti-corrosive Material for Each Side of a Building

  • To secure the anticorrosive performance of structures in the oceanic environment it is necessary to select appropriate finishing materials and thickness of cover. However, airborne chloride deposition varies depending on the collector used, and it is difficult to select appropriate finishing materials. For this reason, an eight-directional collector is proposed in this study through reviewing the differences between existing airborne chloride collectors and the new one. To analyze airborne chloride deposition according to the direction from which it flows and verify the performance of the collector proposed in this study, airborne chlorides were deposited on the collector for one year at five different locations in an oceanic environment. From the experiment, it was verified that in terms of direction, there were differences in airborne chloride deposition of up to more than 1.5 times. Based on these research findings, the anti-corrosive method applied can be different for each side of a building's structure, and this is believed to serve as an effective and systemic chloride resistance design.

투습도 측정방법에 따른 스포츠웨어용 투습직물의 투습특성 (Breathability of Breathable Fabrics for Sportswear according to Measuring Method)

  • This study investigated water vapor permeability of the 73 breathable fabrics for sports-wear according to the materials, finishing methods and fabric structural parameters. The water vapor permeability by KS K 0594 method of PET breathable fabric was superior than that of nylon one, in addition, water vapor permeability of coated or laminated breathable fabrics were higher than those of hot melt or dot laminated fabrics. The water vapor permeability of breathable fabric was dependent on the thickness, weight and density, which was consistent with measuring method. However, water vapor permeability according to materials and finishing method showed different results according to measuring method. The correlation coefficient of WVP of PET breathable fabrics between ISO and KS K measuring methods was -0.83 and the correlation coefficient of WVP of coated breathable fabrics was -0.72 and -0.71 for KS K and ASTM and -0.72 for KS K and ISO in hot melt laminated breathable fabrics. According to regression analysis, WVP of PET breathable fabric by both KSK and ISO measuring methods was highly dependent upon on the density and weight. In addition, WVP of hot melt laminated breathable fabric was highly dependent upon thickness, weight and density. Therefore, relevant measuring method for WVP of breathable fabrics has to be adopted to measure precise breathability.

면직물의 음이온화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Anionisation of Cotton Fabric)

  • Cotton has no adsorption ability for the cationic dye and heavy metal but, if anionized cotton can be made, it will be possible. In this study, to enable the anionisation of cotton fabric, it was modified using sodium vinylsolfonate(SV) as the anionisation reagent, employing a pad-dry-cure(PDC) technique. The effects of curing time, treatment concentrations of urea, sodium hydroxide and SV on the weight increase were experimented and then, the physical characterizations of sulfoethyl cotton(SEC) depending on the finishing conditions were estimated, thus the application possibility of SV as anionisation reagent was investigated. It was not much changed by anionisation except wrinkle recovery. And the structure of SEC was elucidated by Raman and NMR spectoscopy. The feasibility of using Raman and NMR spectroscopy with the band at $1,043cm^{-1}$, and 50.5ppm, respectively as marker band to determine sulfoethyl group of SEC was reported. The total degree of SV substitution(DSV) was determined via elemental analysis. SEC with diverse total DSV up to 0.066 was obtained. In the thermal decomposition(pyrolysis) by DSC, it can be found that the pyrolysis temperature was about $30^{\circ}C$ lower than that of non-treated cotton fabric.

  • The purpose of this study was to grasp major elements and actual condition of apartment unit remodeling by in-depth interviews on residents and specialists. The interviews had been conducted to interior designers who have a wide experience of apartment remodeling and residents who live in recently remodeled apartment unit. In-depth interview is a kind of qualitative method in which attention to reply of responses with open-access between interviewer and respondents. According to the results, remodeling elements were generally changing of lighting fixtures and finishing materials in the all spaces, integration of balcony into children's room, installation of furniture in kitchen and entrance, changing storage furnitures and equipments in bathroom. Artificial lighting method were selected generally whole lighting. Finishing materials were used ordinary (non environmentally-friendly) wallpaper and adhesion and tempered floor. There were unsatisfied factors after remodeling, these were dissatisfaction of design, construction defects, and stink of reflecting 'sick house'. Also they responded that they should be considering to use environmentally-friendly material at next remodeling.

발수제가 수성페인트의 물리적 성능에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Water-Repellent on the Physical Properties of Water Paint)

  • 본 연구는 외부 표면마감 재료로서 발수제를 직접 혼입한 수성페인트의 내구성능을 분석하여 실제 현장에 적용하기 위한 실용성을 평가하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 일반적 성능 및 발수효과 실험하였으며 도출된 결과를 바탕으로 실제 현장에서 적용하기 위한 하나의 공법으로서의 가능성을 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 도출하였다. 열전도성, 통기성, 흡수성 및 부착강도의 성능 실험에서도 수성 페인트에 발수제를 혼합하여 마감재료로 사용하는 것은 적정한 것으로 판단된다. 일반적인 내구성능을 종합적으로 고려해 볼 때 혼합비율은 2, 5, 8% 범위가 안정적인 것으로 판단된다.

Hexachlorocyclophosphazene과 Triethanolamine을 이용한 면섬유의 포름알데히드-프리 내구성 방염가공 (Formaldehyde-Free Durable Flame-Retardant Finish of Cotton Using Hexachlorocyclophosphazene and Triethanolamine)

  • Hexachloro-cyclophosphazene(HCCP), a formaldehyde-free flame retardant (FR), was steam-cured with triethanol amine(TEA) to impart durable flame-retardancy to cotton fabrics. While the HCCP treatment alone showed very limited resistance to repeated laundering cycles, the addition of TEA substantially improved the laundering durability of the FR cotton up to twenty laundering cycles. The extended washing resistance was accomplished by the increased nucleophilic substitution of unreacted P-Cl groups in HCCP by the TEA resulting in the more densely crosslinked FR networks. With increasing molar ratio of TEA to the HCCP up to 2, the flame retarding effectivity and the synergistic effectiveness improved to 2.8 and 1.8 respectively. TGA and microscale combustion calorimetry verified the pyrolysis and combustion behaviors of the FR-cotton, which showed lower maximum pyrolysis and combustion temperatures together with substantially decreased peak pyrolysis and heat release rate, synergistically yielding larger amounts of carbonaceous chars. The formaldehyde-free HCCP and TEA can be a durable FR finishing agents for cotton fabrics acting through a solid-phase flame-retarding mechanism.

수로교 경관선호도 및 이미지 특성 분석 (The Study on the Landscape Preference and Characteristics of the Agricultural Aqueduct Bridges)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the landscape preference and landscape images of the Agricultural Aqueduct Bridges(AAB) by several different criteria. Semantic Differential Scale(SD scale) with landscape adjectives and landscape preference are used to estimate the alternatives of the AAB. The statistic methods such as descriptive analysis, t-test, factor analysis and regression, cluster analysis, are operated. The landscape preference of the alternatives is generally positive, 3.977 out of 7.000. The gate type is the most preferred, but the road-along type is the worst, by the location types. The simple repair type is the worst preferred, but total remodeling is the most, by the repair types. The characteristics of the AAB are analyzed and 4 factors of visual landscape are contracted; interest, orderliness, naturality and spatiality. Cumulative factor loading of these factors is about 65%, which is quite high. The higher and bigger AAB's are preferred, and the advanced finishing materials are also preferred, such as aluminum or wood panels. The long span is also preferred and the high repair cost would be preferred. But in this study, the cost-benefit analysis is not included, so it is recommended to research further, considering the cost variable with the visual factors.
