머신 비전을 이용한 금형 품질 검사 시스템 개발 (Development of Stamping Die Quality Inspection System Using Machine Vision)

  • In this paper, we present a case study of developing MVIS (Machine Vision Inspection System) designed for exterior quality inspection of stamping dies used in the production of automotive exterior components in a small to medium-sized factory. While the primary processes within the factory, including machining, transportation, and loading, have been automated using PLCs, CNC machines, and robots, the final quality inspection process still relies on manual labor. We implement the MVIS with general-purpose industrial cameras and Python-based open-source libraries and frameworks for rapid and low-cost development. The MVIS can play a major role on improving throughput and lead time of stamping dies. Furthermore, the processed inspection images can be leveraged for future process monitoring and improvement by applying deep learning techniques.

소프트웨어의 품질개선을 위한 사례연구 (A Case Study of Software Quality Improvement)

  • 최근 소프트웨어 산업계에서는 소프트웨어의 품질향상을 위해 다양한 품질보증활동을 수행하고 있다. 이 활동들의 궁극적인 목적은 개발 소프트웨어의 결함을 줄이기 위한 것이다. 국내 S사는 "결함 있는 제품은 고객에게 납품하지 않는다"는 모토를 내걸고 이의 실천운동으로 1999년 3월에 "ZERO DEFECT 21" 운동을 시작하였다. 본 논문에서는 "ZERO DEFECT 21" 운동의 활동방법 및 활동성과에 대해 소개하였다. "ZERO DEFECT 21" 운동은 사내감리 및 소프트웨어 제품검사로 수행되었다. 그 결과, 사내감리를 통해서 22건의 고객 클레임을 예방할 수 있었으며, 설계산출물의 품질을 11.7% 개선시킬 수 있었다. 또한, 산출물 재사용 측면에서는 23.3%가 개선되었다. 개발 및 테스트 단계에서의 주기적인 샘플링 검사 및 종료단계에서의 제품 출하검사로 이루어진 소프트웨어 제품검사를 통해서는 결함률을 개발 및 테스트단계에서 123%, 종료단계 에서는 무려 247%의 개선 효과를 거두었다. 사내설문조사에 의하면 "ZERO DEFECT 21" 운동을 통해서 프로젝트팀은 품질에 대한 자신감을 갖게 되었고, 그 결과 국내 S사에 대한 고객의 신뢰도도 상당히 개선되었던 것으로 조사되었다. 되었고, 그 결과 국내 S사에 대한 고객의 신뢰도도 상당히 개선되었던 것으로 조사되었다.

브라운관의 화상계측 자동화 시스템 개발 (Development of Automated Display Image Characteristic Inspection System of Braun Tube(CRT))

  • Automatic inspection system software for display image characteristic of CRT is developed. There are two major contributions of this software development. One is that the data from measuring equipments which was usually collected manually is automatically collected through RS-232C port and is saved in computer, then, trend analysis graph and final reports are generated. The other is that evauation of characteristic of electron gun was automatically processed by CCD camera and image processing technique. The system is developed under MS-Windows environment utilizing Borland C++4.0 Compiler and DT 3852-8 image processor board. This system can save the time and man power to measure and to anayze the image characteristics relative to current method.

  • On-machine automatic measuring software from 3-D solid modeler is generally applied to assess the functional performance of a final produce for computer numerical control (CNC) machine. Automatic measuring software may also be performed on individual components of CNC machine in which some functional aspect of the component must be examined and cannot be implicity determined by means of a mechanical inspection. The manufacturing specialist, combined with the appropriate software simulation, can not only create the commands to drive the virtual measuring but also can check for mistakes by viewing the computer graphics simulation of the tool cutting sequence.

RBI 절차의 석유화학 플랜트 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on Implementation of Risk Based Inspection Procedures to a Petrochemical Plant)

  • During the last ten years, the need has been increased for reducing maintenance cost for aged equipments and ensuring safety, efficiency and profitability of petrochemical and refinery plants. RBI (Risk Based Inspection) methodology is one of the most promising technologies satisfying the need in the field of integrity management. In this study, a user-friendly software, realRBl for RBI based on the API 581 code was developed. This software has modules for evaluating qualitative and semi-quantitative risk level, analyzing quantitative risks using the potential consequences of a failure of the pressure boundary, and assessing the likelihood of failure. A quantitative analysis was performed for 16 columns in a domestic NCC (Naphtha Cracking Center) plant whose operating time reaches about 12 years. Each column was considered as two equipment parts by dividing into top and bottom. Generic column failure frequencies were adjusted based on likelihood data. After determining release rate, release duration and release mass for each failure scenario, flammable/explosive and toxic consequences were assessed. Current risks for 32 equipment parts were evaluated and risk based prioritization were determined as a final result.

  • Reverse engineering is an emerging technology to obtain CAD models from existing physical parts in the case that CAD models are not available or paras are changed an(1 modified so that new CAD models for final parts are necessary. Reverse engineering helps designers to quickly generate computer interpretable data from existing Physical objects So it is applying for field of Rapid Prototyping NC Processing CAE, Inspection and so on. The objective of this study is to develop the software that deals with unorganized point data and quickly obtains CAD model. In this paper, several models such as human\`s bone, car, are experimented by the proposed methods.

Multi-Channel Vision System for On-Line Quantification of Appearance Quality Factors of Apple

  • An integrated on-line inspection system was constructed with seven cameras, half mirrors to split images. 720 nm and 970 nm band pass filters, illumination chamber having several tungsten-halogen lamps, one main computer, one color frame grabber, two 4-channel multiplexors, and flat plate conveyer, etc. A total of seven images, that is, one color image form the top of an apple and two B/W images from each side (top, right and left) could be captured and displayed on a computer monitor through the multiplexor. One of the two B/W images captured from each side is 720nm filtered image and the other is 970 nm. With this system an on-line grading software was developed to evaluate appearance quality. On-line test results with Fuji apples that were manually fed on the conveyer showed that grading accuracies of the color, defect and shape were 95.3%, 86% and 88.6%, respectively. Grading time was 0.35 second per apple on an average. Therefore, this on-line grading system could be used for inspection of the final products produced from an apple sorting system.

원전 주증기배관 웰더렛 용접부 위상배열초음파검사 적용연구 (A Study on the Application of Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing to Main Steam Line in Nuclear Power Plants)

  • KSNPs(Korea Standard Nuclear Power Plant) have been applied the break exclusion criteria to the high energy lines passing through containment penetration area to ensure that piping failures would not cause the loss of containment isolation function, and to reduce the resulting dynamic effects. Systems with the criteria are the Main Steam system, Feed Water system, Steam Generator Blowdown system, and Chemical & Volume Control system. In accordance with FSAR(Final Safety Analysis Report), a 100% volumetric examination by augmented in-service inspection of all pipe welds appled the break exclusion criteria is required for the break exclusion application piping. However, it is difficult to fully satisfy the requirements of inspection because 12", 8" and 6" weldolet weldments of Main Steam pipe line have complex structural shapes. To resolve the difficulty on the application of conventional UT(Ultrasonic Testing) technique, realistic mock-ups and UT calibration blocks were made. Simulations of conventional UT were performed utilizing CIVA, a commercial NDE(Nondestructive Examination) simulation software. Phased array UT experiments were performed through mock-up including artificial notch type flaws. A phased array UT technique is finally developed to improve the reliability of ultrasonic test at main steam line pipe to 12", 8" and 6" branch connection weld.

유제품 산업의 품질검사를 위한 빅데이터 플랫폼 개발: 머신러닝 접근법 (Building an Analytical Platform of Big Data for Quality Inspection in the Dairy Industry: A Machine Learning Approach)

  • 품질검사는 중간상품이나 최종상품을 품질관리 표준을 만족하는 양품과 불량품으로 분리하는 일을 수행한다. 대량생산체계에서 품질을 수작업으로 검사하는 것은 일관성과 효율성을 저하시키므로 대량으로 생산되는 상품의 품질을 검사하는 것은 다수의 공정에서 기계에 의한 자동 확인과 분류를 포함하게 된다. 생산공정에서 발생하는 데이터를 활용하여 공정을 개선하고 최적화하려는 선행 연구들이 많았음에도 불구하고, 실시간에 많은 데이터를 처리하는데 있어서의 기술적인 한계로 인해 실제 구현에서의 제약이 많이 있었다. 최근 빅데이터에 관한 연구에서는 데이터 처리기술을 개선하였고, 실시간에 데이터를 수집, 처리, 분석하는 과정을 가능하게 하게 하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 품질검사를 위한 빅데이터 적용의 단계와 세부사항을 제안하고, 유제품 산업에 적용 사례를 제시하려고 한다. 먼저 선행 연구들을 조사하고, 제조 부문에 적용할 수 있는 빅데이터 분석절차를 제안하며 제안된 방법의 실현가능성을 평가하기 위해서, 유제품 산업 분야의 품질검사과정 중 하나에 회선신경망(Convolutional Neural Network) 기술 및 랜덤포레스트(Random Forest) 기술을 적용하였다. 품질검사를 위해 제품의 뚜껑 및 빨대의 사진을 수집, 처리, 분석하여, 결함 여부를 판단하고, 과거 품질 검사결과와 비교하였다. 제안된 방법은 과거에 수행되었던 품질검사에 비해 분류 정확성 측면에서 의미 있는 개선을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해, 유제품 산업의 빅데이터 활용을 통한 품질검사 정확도 개선 가능성을 확인하였다.
