Liquid metal heat pipes play a critical role in various high-temperature applications, with their optimization being pivotal to achieving optimal thermal performance. In this study, a deep learning based genetic algorithm is suggested to optimize the operating conditions of liquid metal heat pipes. The optimization performance was investigated in both single and multi-variable optimization schemes, considering the operating conditions of heat load, inclination angle, and filling ratio. The single-variable optimization indicated reasonable performance for various conditions, reinforcing the potential applicability of the optimization method across a broad spectrum of high-temperature industries. The multi-variable optimization revealed an almost congruent performance level to single-variable optimization, suggesting that the robustness of optimization method is not compromised with additional variables. Furthermore, the generalization performance of the optimization method was investigated by conducting an experimental investigation, proving a similar performance. This study underlines the potential of optimizing the operating condition of heat pipes, with significant consequences in sectors such as high temperature field, thereby offering a pathway to more efficient, cost-effective thermal solutions.
In order to investigate the structural defects of a cylindrical-type toluene storage tank, we carried out the acoustic emissions. The storage tank was manufactured with high strength steel in 1978 and its's first and second courses from bottom were entirely repaired, recently. Acoustic emissions were monitored with real time according to load sequences in the $75{\~}84\%$ level range of maximum allowable load. Our results show a non-genuine acoustic emissions as well as a genuine characteristics. The pseudo emissions considered as valve noises were transiently occurred on shut-off processes of inlet valve regardless of water loading. The acoustic emission events occurred during water filling phase were estimated due to defects, and in the $75{\~}84\%$ test load level no evidences of defect growth were observed. Those defects were ascertained as weld cracks and porosities through the post radiography testing conducted near active sensors.
The goal of this study is to develop an effective control system for cardiac output regulation based upon the preload and afterload conditions without any transducers and compliance chambers in the moving actuator type total artificial heart. Motor current waveforms during the actuator movement are used as an input to the automatic control algorithm. While the current waveform analysis is performed, the stroke length and velocity of the actuator are gradually increased up to the maximum pump output level. If the diastolic filling rate of either right or left pump begins to exceed the venous return, atrial collapse will occur. Since the diastolic suction acts as a load to the motor, this critical condition can be detected by analyzing the motor current waveforms. Every time this detection criterion is met, the control algorithm decreases the stroke velocity and length of the actuator step by step just below the critical detection level. Then, they start to increase. In this way the maximum pump output under given venous return can be achieved. Additionally the control algorithm provides some degree of afterload sensitivity. If the aortic pressure is detected to exceed 120 mmHg, the stroke length and velocity decrease in the same way as the response to the preload. Left-right pump output balance is maintained by proper adjustment of the asymmetry of the stroke angle. In the mock circulatory test, this control system worked well and there was a considerable range of stroke volume difference with adjustment of the asymmetry value. Two ovine experiments were performed. It was confirmed that the required cardiac output regulation according to the venous return could be achieved with adequate detection of diastolic function, at least in the in vivo short-term survival cases[2-3 days . We conclude that this control algorithm is a promising method to regulate cardiac output in the moving actuator type total artificial heart.

PURPOSE. Porcelain fused to metal (PFM) crowns provide the best treatment option for teeth that have a large or defective restoration. More than 20% of teeth with PFM crowns or bridges require non-surgical root canal treatment (NSRCT). This may be due to the effect of restorative procedures and the possible leakage of bacteria and or their by-products, which leads to the demise of the tooth pulp. Thus, this study was planned to compare the ability of the restorative materials to seal perforated PFM specimens. MATERIALS AND METHODS. The study evaluates the ability of amalgam, composite or compomer restorative materials to close perforated PFM specimen's in-vitro. Ninety PFM specimens were constructed using Ni-Cr alloys and feldspathic porcelain, and then they were divided into 3 groups: amalgam (A), composite + Exite adhesive bond (B) and compomer + Syntac adhesive bond (C). All the PFM samples were embedded in an acrylic block to provide complete sealing of the hole from the bottom side. After the aging period, each group was further divided into 3 equal subgroups according to the thermocycling period (one week for 70 cycles, one month for 300 cycles and three months for 900 cycles). Each subgroup was put into containers containing dye (Pelikan INK), one maintained at $5^{\circ}C$ and the other at $55^{\circ}C$, each cycle for 30 sec time. The data obtained was analyzed by SPSS, 2006 using one way ANOVA test and student t-test and significant difference level at (P<.01). RESULTS. The depth of dye penetration was measured at the interfaces of PFM and filling materials using Co-ordinate Vernier Microscope. The lowest levels of the dye penetration for the three groups, as well as subgroups were during the first week. The values of dye leakage had significantly increased by time intervals in subgroups A and C. CONCLUSION. It was seen that amalgam showed higher leakage than composite while compomer showed the lowest level of leakage.
This study was conducted to assess effects of soil moisture condition and ventilation on development of fermented fruit of oriental melon. In higher soil moisture condition (-10 kPa), roots absorbed more water and transpiration was decreased under low temperature and high humidity conditions. Development of fermented fruit may be come from absorbed water concentrated placenta with higher soluble solid. Fermented fruit was developed with higher level at Shintozoa and Elite, was developed with lower level at Hongtozoa, and was not developed at self-rooting of oriental melon. Ventilation on fruit did not affect development of fermented fruit at Shintozoa, Elite, Hongtozoa and self-rooting seedling. Ca contents of flesh and placenta of fruit under ventilation treatment were higher than control but contents of Acetaldehyde, Ethanol and Ethylacetate were lower.

Trauma to the tooth is the most common accidents in pediatric dentistry and tooth fracture occurs frequently. Fracture is classified into crown fracture, root fracture, and crown-root fracture which involves both. Also, it is classified into simple or complicated fracture depending on whether the pulp is exposed or not. When the fracture is extended down to the subgingival level following the long axis of the root, or when more than 1/3 of the root is involved, extraction is the primary treatment. But alternative treatment such as extruding the root fragment with orthodontic force and restoring it, or intentionally extracting the tooth and replanting it to a position which it can be restored. This is a case report on intentional replantation of a traumatized maxillary central incisor with crown-root fracture of a patient with mixed dentition. The teeth was extracted and immediate endodontic treatment, retrograde filling and resin restoration were carried out.
Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is one of the ten most common causes of cancer death worldwide. Assessment of molecular changes can help detect and control lesions. The aim of this study was evaluation of salivary levels of ErbB2 and CEA in OSCC patients. In this case-control study, 27 OSCC patients and 26 healthy controls participated. After obtaining consent and filling out a questionnaire, unstimulated saliva samples were collected from people in the morning for measurement of the two markers using ELISA. Data were analyzed using Mann Whitney U test in SPSS 19 software with P<0.05 considered significant. Subjects were in the age range of 40 to 65 years. \Salivary level CEA was elevated in OSCC samples ($42.6{\pm}21.1ng/ml$) as compared to those of controls ($22.6{\pm}22.1ng/ml$) (p< 0.01), but no significant variation was noted for ErbB2 ($5.2{\pm}1.8ng/ml$ and $4.93{\pm}2.14ng/ml$, p=0.28). The role of ErbB2 as a tumor marker in patients with OSCC must still be regarded as controversial and needs further studies to clarify any significance for early detection or screening. In contrast the salivary level of CEA may find application for early detection of patients.
Objective: The aim of this study was to provide a method to improve the compliance and reduce the time by reducing the workload during the model change work. Background: The enterprises are constructing the small quantity batch production system by increasing the number of model change and reducing model-changing. However, the compliance is low because the work is strenuous and high skills are needed, so the system management is facing with many difficulties. Method: After classifying the model change work according to the purposes(preparation, change and adjustment) with the target of mascara filling machine, element tasks time were measured and the motion analysis(therblig symbol) and REBA analysis were performed. The study incorporated 3 independent variables as the number of motion, REBA score and the element time. The dependent variable is the type of element work as preparation, change and adjustment. The statistical test was performed by one-way ANOVA(${\alpha}$ < 0.05). Results: For the preparation, the number of motions appeared in the order of Use(U), Transport Loaded(TL), and Position(P). The order appeared in change is Use(U), Release Load(RL), and Grasp (G). The adjustment appeared in the order of Position(P) and Use(U). The results of average motion time as the element work times divided by the number of motion appeared in the order of adjustment(1.85sec/motion), preparation(1.11sec/motion), and change(0.62sec/motion). The results of REBA showed that the average risk level of change and adjustment were medium, but 53.1% of change and 42.9% of adjustment were evaluated as high. Conclusion: Reducing the avoidance and improving the compliance of work could be expected if the job autonomy were improved by improving the working postures with high risk level. Application: It is expected to solve the problem of reducing the time of model change work in the small quantity batch production system. The future work is to carry out the improvement directions found in the results and compare the results after improvement.

One-dimensional (1D) photonic crystals (PCs) were prepared by $TeO_x(2<x<3)/SiO_2$ with the difference refractive index, and fabricated by sputtering technique from a $TeO_2$ and $SiO_2$ target. The $TeO_x$(2$Ar:O_2=40:10$). A 10-pair $TeO_x(2<x<3)/SiO_2$ 1D PCs were fabricated with the structure parameters of filling factor=0.5185, and period=410 nm. The properties of 1D PCs with and without a defect layer were evaluated by UV-VIS-NIR. A normal mode 1D PC have a photonic band gap (PBG) in the near infrared (NIR) region from 1,203 to 1,421 nm. In the case of 1D PC containing a defect layer, a defect level appears at 1,291 nm. The measured transmittance (T) spectra are nearly corresponding to calculated results. After He-Cd laser exposure, the defect level is shifted from 1,291 nm to 1,304 nm.

Purpose: This study was conducted to assess the effect of hard and/or soft tissue grafting on immediate implants in a preclinical model. Methods: In 5 mongrel dogs, the distal roots of P2 and P3 were extracted from the maxilla (4 sites in each animal), and immediate implant placement was performed. Each site was randomly assigned to 1 of the following 4 groups: i) gap filling with guided bone regeneration (the GBR group), ii) subepithelial connective tissue grafting (the SCTG group), iii) GBR and SCTG (the GBR/SCTG group), and iv) no further treatment (control). Non-submerged healing was provided for 4 months. Histological and histomorphometric analyses were performed. Results: Peri-implant tissue height and thickness favored the SCTG group (height of periimplant mucosa: 1.14 mm; tissue thickness at the implant shoulder and ±1 mm from the shoulder: 1.14 mm, 0.78 mm, and 1.57 mm, respectively; median value) over the other groups. Bone grafting was not effective at the level of the implant shoulder and on the coronal level of the shoulder. In addition, simultaneous soft and hard tissue augmentation (the GBR/SCTG group) led to a less favorable tissue contour compared to GBR or SCTG alone (height of periimplant mucosa: 3.06 mm; thickness of peri-implant mucosa at the implant shoulder and ±1 mm from the shoulder: 0.72 mm, 0.3 mm, and 1.09 mm, respectively). Conclusion: SCTG tended to have positive effects on the thickness and height of the periimplant mucosa in immediate implant placement. However, simultaneous soft and hard tissue augmentation might not allow a satisfactory tissue contour in cases where the relationship between implant position and neighboring bone housing is unfavorable.
