The direct brazing technology which could be used for the simplification of brazing process and the improvement of brazed joint quality was studied with $Al_2O_3$ and stainless steels. The brazing of $Al_2O_3$ to STS304 or STS430 was performed under different brazing conditions such as brazing filler metal, temperature, heating rate and brazing time. Microstructural observation and chemical analysis be SEM/EPAM were carried out to verify the quality of brazed joints. 4-point bending strength of brazed joints was also measured to find the optimal brazing conditions. The results showed that, in brazing of $Al_2O_3$, the mixed oxide layer resulted from the reaction between Ti in filler metal and oxide layer on the material surface to be brazed was found to be bery important for the joint quality. The width of oxide layer varied with the brazing conditions such as brazing time, heating rate and chemical composition of filler metals. The strength of brazed joints was more affected by the type of materials and their thermal properties than by brazing heat cycle.
We analyzed thermal stress of the STS VOD ladle by the variation of material property of refractory, and determined the location of back filler using FE analysis. Thermal distribution of refractory of ladle between hot face and back face were decreased by the increasing the thermal conductivity, and thermal stress of refractory were decreased about 2 to 4 times with the decreasing the young's modulus coefficients. Back filler, which is constructed to absorb the thermal expansion of dolomite refractory, has relatively low thermal conductivity. Inner side of refractory of ladle maintained high temperature, but temperature of outer side of ladle decreased low. Consequently, inner expansion and outer contraction were appeared. and thermal stress were increased, so thermal stress by the construction of back filler were increased.
A residue from the newsprint waste was investigated as a filler in adhesive for bonding southern pine plywood. The residue was prepared by drying the wet residue to 8% moisture content and grinding the dry material using a laboratory Wiley mitt with a 75-${\mu}m$(200-mesh) screen. The residue was compared to a commercial filler commonly used in structural plywood adhesives. A total of 48 three-ply panels. 12.7mm nominal thickness and 0.3 by 0.3 m in size, were fabricated at two press times(4 and 5 min) and three assembly times(20, 40 and 60 min). Evaluations of the residue were carried out by performance tension shear tests after two 4-hour boil accelerated aging tests on plywood. The test results included tension shear strength and estimated wood failure values. All plywood made with the residue filler were comparable to the control-bonded plywood. These results indicate that residue from the newsprint waste streams would be suitable as filler for plywood adhesives.
Tracking is one of the biggist problems to be overcome in polymeric materials for outdoor insulators. But It can be decreased with the addition of filler such as alumina trihydrate (ATH). In this paper, the tracking of surface and evaluation of insulating ability at silicone rubber is investigated, using the salt fog test. At initial state, the peak leakage current and numbers by dry band arcing is increasing with increasing the filler level, but at aged state decreasing at high concentration filler samples. This is because the roughness of the surface may contribute to the increase in peak leakage cur-rent and numbers. As increasing the filler level, the insulating ability of materials is higher and weight loss is decreased. The mechanism of insulating failure is occurred by the erosion than the tracking and the erosion caused weight loss of 2 g.

In this study, we report that effects of a filler with a high coefficient of thermal expansion on a sealant for high-temperature ($750{\sim}850^{\circ}C$) SOFC. We designed a $SiO_2-BaO-ZnO-B_2O_3-Al_2O_3$ glass system with a softening temperature higher than $750^{\circ}C$. The properties of the glass system show not only low volumetric shrinking but also low swelling. The glass system did not create a crystal phase during along-term heat treatment. We fabricated a seal gasket with 0, 10, 15, and 20 wt% cristobalite added as filler materials with glass powder. The coefficient of thermal expansion of the seal gasket increased according to cristobalite content. During along-term heat treatment, the leak rate decreased by about 5% after a heat treatment in an oxidizing atmosphere at $750^{\circ}C$ for 2000 h, also decreasing by about 6% after a heat treatment in a reducing atmosphere at $750^{\circ}C$ for 1000 h.
In this study, surface treatment of the elastomeric matrix was investigated to develop a substituting material for steel dynamic damper of automobile. The key technology is to get ultra high density elastomeric compound in order to substitute steel dynamic damper. The optimum matrix material(chloroprene rubber) and filler(metal powder) were selected for this. The several properties of elastomeric compound were examined. According to the results, the $t_{s2}$ of filled elastomeric compound was decreased with increasing the filler loading whereas the $t_{90}$ was increased. Also, tensile strength and rebound resilience were decreased with filler loading. To solve the problem of high filler loading, the photo grafting technique was employed on elastomeric matrix. The degree of grafting was determined by FTIR-ATR. Also, the filler surface was modified by chemical etching and the surface morphology was examine by SEM. After chemical treatment of filler, the particle size analyzer was used to examined the particle size, size distribution, and morphology of the modified filler.

Effect of heating rate on microstructure of brazed joints with STS 304 Printed Circuit Heat Exchanger (PCHE),which was manufactured as large-scale($1170(L){\times}520(W)){\times}100(T)$, mm), have been studied to compare bonding phenomenon. The specimens using MBF 20 was bonded at $1080^{\circ}C$ for 1hr with $0.38^{\circ}C/min$ and $20^{\circ}C/min$ heating rate, respectively. In case of a heating rate of $20^{\circ}C/min$, overflow of filler metal was observed at the edge of a brazed joints showing the height of filler metal was decreased from $100{\mu}m$ to $68{\mu}m$. At the center of the joints, CrB and high Ni contents of ${\gamma}$-Ni was existed. For the joints brazed at a heating rate of $0.38^{\circ}C/min$, the height of filler was decreased from $100{\mu}m$ to $86{\mu}m$ showing the overflow of filler was not appeared. At the center of the joints, only ${\gamma}$-Ni was detected gradating the Ni contents from center. This phenomenon was driven from a diffusion amount of Boron in filler metal. With a fast heating rate $20^{\circ}C/min$, diffusion amount of B was so small that liquid state of filler metal and base metal were reacted. But, for a slow heating rate $0.38^{\circ}C/min$, solid state of filler metal due to low diffusion amount of B reacted with base metal as a solid diffusion bonding.
Dermal injectables are the most popular material for facial enhancement, including volumizing and wrinkle correction. However, although hyaluronic acid is the most common component of dermal injectables, the character of hyaluronic acid products is quite variable. These materials can be described in terms of their viscoelastic properties using four parameters. In this article, the author would like to describe these properties in detail. Although many physicians consider this material to be convoluted, thoroughly understanding the characteristics of various injectables enables us to tailor procedures accordingly and to enhance the final results.

The properties of magnetic suppositories used in medicine has been tested with M ssbauer spectroscopy methods. The experiments were carried out on magnetic rectal suppositories containing parmadine and fine-dispersed ferrite powder BaO.nFe$_2$O$_3$as a magnetic filler. According to the data on the value of effective magnetic field on $^{57}$ Fe nuclei in ferrite magnetic sublattices, the stoichiometric n-number equals approximately 5.5; this vague corresponds to the composition range of optimal magnetic properties.

The paper reports on a study of the influence of the size of the particles of alumina trihydrate(ATH) filler on the surface aging characteristics of ehylene propylene diene terpolymer(EPDM). A fixed 100pph concentration of the filler of ATH was used (or all particle sizes from 0.7 to 20$\mu\textrm{m}$, It is show that hysteresis of contact angle and leakage current increase with increasing particle size, whereas tracking resistance decrease with increasing particle size.
