  • Recently, for the purpose of maintenance of facilities and energy, there have been growing cases of the 3D image scan-based reverse design technology mostly in the manufacturing field. In the MEP field, because of differences between design and physical model, the reverse technology has been utilized in factory facilities such as a semiconductor factory. Because 3D point clouds from scanning include accurate 3D object information, the efficiency of management works related to the complex MEP facilities can be enhanced. In this study, the reverse technology was surveyed, and the MEP facility management based on 3D image scanning was analyzed. Based on the results, a method of 3D image scan-based MEP facility management was proposed.

  • In this study, we fabricated the dual gate (DG) ion-sensitive field-effect-transistor (ISFET) with flexible polyimide (PI) extended gate (EG). The DG ISFETs significantly enhanced the sensitivity of pH in electrolytes from 60 mV/pH to 1152.17 mV/pH and effectively improved the drift and hysteresis phenomenon. This is attributed to the capacitive coupling effect between top gate and bottom gate insulators of the channel in silicon-on-transistor (SOI) metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) FETs. Accordingly, it is expected that the PI-EG based DG-ISFETs is promising technology for high-performance flexible biosensor applications.

  • This paper deals with hysteresis losses on the superconducting slap by using type II superconducting theory and classical maxwell equations. Transport current is transmitted to the longitudual direction and applied magnetic field is perpendicular to the slap length and simultaneously parallel to the plat. And the sinusoidal transport currents and the magnetic fields are applied to the slap. Properties of hysteresis loss can be understood, using computer simulation with apply field, transport current and phasor difference. From this result the efficiency and the stability of superconducting system can be enhanced.

  • The x-ray PIV method was improved for measuring quantitative velocity fields of real blood flows using a coherent synchrotron x-ray source. Without using any contrast media or seeding particles, this method can visualize flow pattern of blood by enhancing the phase-contrast and interference characteristics of blood cells based on a synchrotron x-ray imaging mechanism. The enhanced x-ray images were achieved by optimizing the sample-to-scintillator distance, the sample thickness, and hematocrit. The quantitative velocity fields of blood flows inside opaque tubes were obtained by applying a 2-frame PIV algorithm to the x-ray images of the blood flows. The measured velocity field data show typical features of blood flows such as the yield stress effect. The non-Newtonian flow characteristics of blood flows were analyzed using the x-ray PIV method and the experimental results were compared with hemodynamic models.

  • Microstructure evolution including morphological change in the vicinity of the electrodes, porosity change and grain boundary migration was observed in polycrystalline CoO subject to electric fields at 1100 and 121$0^{\circ}C$ in air. At the cathode, the transported cations react with oxygen in the surrounding to form new lattices, while, at the anode, the reverse reaction occurs leading to lattice annihilation. Lattice formation also takes place at the surface of pores near the cathode inducing pore-filling effect. Grain boundary migration was found bo be enhanced or retarded depending on the field direction. It is therefore implied that the driving force of grain boundary migration is the vectorial sum of the curvature-induced chemical potential gradient and the electric field applied.

  • Electro-theological fluid is recently used for the micro polishing of 3-dimensional micro-aspherical lens. It's also used for polishing small area defects on the wide flat wafer. Since ER fluid shows a behavior of viscosity changing under certain electric fields. micro polishing efficiency may be enhanced for certain cases. In this paper, a perfluorinated carbonyl fluoride oil based ER fluids was used to improve surface polishing rate and submicron-scale accuracy. As the polishing electrodes, micro size cylindrical tools had been used for maximizing the electric field. An experimental device, which was applied for micro polishing a number of wafers of 4inches in size and other workpiece. was made on a precision polishing system. It consisted of a steel electrode. a wafer fixture. l0㎃ current and DC 5㎸ power supply unit, and a controller unit. From the Experiments. the ER fluid is applicable for micro polishing of small parts.

  • We observed internal space charge behavior for two types of epoxy composites under dc electric fields to investigate the influence of water at high temperature. In the case of glass/epoxy specimen, homocharge is observed at water-treated specimen, and spatial oscillations become clearer in the water-treated specimens. Electric field in the vicinity of the electrodes shows the injection of homocharge. In aramid/epoxy specimens, heterocharge is observed at water-treated specimens, i.e. negative charge accumulates near the anode, while positive charge accumulates near the cathode. Electric field is enhanced just before each electrode. In order to further examine the mechanism of space charge formation, we have developed a new system that allows in situ space charge observation during ion migration tests at high temperature and high humidity. Using this in situ system.

  • A hybrid method is presented for efficient computation of turbulent flow noise at low Mach numbers. In this method, the turbulent flow field is computed by incompressible large eddy simulation (LES), while the acoustic field is computed with the linearized perturbed compressible equations (LPCE) derived in this study. Since LPCE is computed on the rather coarse acoustic grid with the flow variables and source term obtained by the incompressible LES, the computational efficiency of calculation is greatly enhanced. Furthermore, LPCE suppress the instability of perturbed vortical mode and therefore secure consistent and stable acoustic solutions. The proposed LES/LPCE hybrid method is applied to three low Mach number turbulent flow noise problems: i) circular cylinder, ii) isolated flat plate, and iii) interaction between cylinder wake and airfoil. The computed results are closely compared with the experimental measurements.

  • Temperature is an essential process variable in nanoimprint lithography(NIL) where the temperature varies between room temperature and above the glass transition temperature. To simulate NIL process, we employ both the Nose-Poincare method for temperature controlled molecular dynamics(MD) and force field for polymer material i.e. polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA), which is most widely selected as NIL resist. Nose-Poincare method, which convinces the conservation of Hamiltonian structure and time-reversal symmetry, overcomes the drawbacks inherent in the conventional methods such as Nose thermostat and Nose-Hoover thermostat. Thus, this method exhibits enhanced numerical stability even when the temperature fluctuation is large. To describe PMMA, we adopt the force field which account for bond stretch, bending, torsion, inversion, partial charge, and van der Waals energy.

  • Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are coated on green $ZnGa_2O_4:Mn^{2+}$ phosphor for filed emission display. The cathodoluminescent intensity of CNTs-phosphor is improved compared with uncoated phosphors. Also the effects of phosphors-coated CNTs on electrical and degradation characteristics are investigated to reveal the reason of the enhanced emission intensity.
