All pixels of image sensor do not react uniformly even if the light of same radiance enters into the camera. This non-uniformity comes from the sensor pixel non-uniformity and non-uniformity induced by the changing transmission of the telescope over the field. The first contribution to the non-uniformity has high spatial frequency nature and has an influence on the result and quality of the data compression. The second source of non-uniformity has low frequency nature and has no influence of the compression result. As the contribution resulting from the sensor PRNU(Photo Response Non-Uniformity) is corrected inside the camera electronics, the effect of the remaining non-uniformity to the compression result will be negligible. The non-uniformity correction result shall have big difference according to the sensor modeling and the calculation method to get correction coefficient. Usually, the sensor can be modeled with one dimensional coefficients which are a gain and a offset for each pixel. Only two measurements are necessary theoretically to get coefficients. However, these are not the optimized value over the whole illumination level. This paper proposes the algorithm to calculate the optimized non-uniformity correction coefficients over whole illumination radiance. The proposed algorithm uses several measurements and the least square method to get the optimum coefficients. The proposed algorithm is verified using the own camera electronics including sensor, electrical test equipment and optical test equipment such as the integrating sphere.

The optimization of long-range ensemble climate prediction for rice phenology model with advanced bias correction method is conducted. The daily long-range forecast(6-month) of mean/ minimum/maximum temperature and observation of January to October during 1991-2021 is collected for rice phenology prediction. In this study, the concept of "buffer period" is newly introduced to reduce the problem after bias correction by quantile mapping with constructing the transfer function by month, which evokes the discontinuity at the borders of each month. The four experiments with different lengths of buffer periods(5, 10, 15, 20 days) are implemented, and the best combinations of buffer periods are selected per month and variable. As a result, it is found that root mean square error(RMSE) of temperatures decreases in the range of 4.51 to 15.37%. Furthermore, this improvement of climatic variables quality is linked to the performance of the rice phenology model, thereby reducing RMSE in every rice phenology step at more than 75~100% of Automated Synoptic Observing System stations. Our results indicate the possibility and added values of interdisciplinary study between atmospheric and agriculture sciences.

In order to determine the amount of explosives that can minimize the vibration generated during tunnel construction using the blasting method, it is necessary to derive the blasting vibration coefficients, K and n, by analyzing the vibration records of trial blasting in the field or under similar conditions. In this study, we aimed to develop a technique that can derive reasonable K and n when trial blasting cannot be performed. To this end, we collected full-scale trial blast data and studied how to predict the blast vibration coefficient (K, n) according to the type of explosive, center cut blasting method, rock origin and type, and rock grade using deep learning (DL). In addition, the correction value between full-scale and borehole trial blasting results was calculated to compensate for the limitations of the borehole trial blasting results and to carry out a design that aligns more closely with reality. In this study, when comparing the available explosive amount according to the borehole trial blasting result equation, the predictions from deep learning (DL) exceed 50%, and the result with the correction value is similar to other blast vibration estimation equations or about 20% more, enabling more economical design.
Objective: This study analyzed errors due to rotation or tilt of the magnetic resonance (MR) imaging indicator during image acquisition for a stereotactic radiosurgery. The error correction procedure of a commercially available stereotactic neurosurgery treatment planning program has been verified. Materials and Methods: Software virtual phantoms were built with stereotactic images generated by a commercial programming language, Interactive Data Language (version 5.5). The thickness of an image slice was 0.5 mm, pixel size was $0.5{\times}0.5mm$, field of view was 256 mm, and image resolution was $512{\times}512$. The images were generated under the DICOM 3.0 standard in order to be used with Leksell GammaPlan$^{(R)}$. For the verification of the rotation error correction function of Leksell GammaPlan$^{(R)}$, 45 measurement points were arranged in five axial planes. On each axial plane, there were nine measurement points along a square of length 100 mm. The center of the square was located on the z-axis and a measurement point was on the z-axis, too. Five axial planes were placed at z=-50.0, -30.0, 0.0, 30.0, 50.0 mm, respectively. The virtual phantom was rotated by $3^{\circ}$ around one of x, y, and z-axis. It was also rotated by $3^{\circ}$ around two axes of x, y, and z-axis, and rotated by $3^{\circ}$ along all three axes. The errors in the position of rotated measurement points were measured with Leksell GammaPlan$^{(R)}$ and the correction function was verified. Results: The image registration errors of the virtual phantom images was $0.1{\pm}0.1mm$ and it was within the requirement of stereotactic images. The maximum theoretical errors in position of measurement points were 2.6 mm for a rotation around one axis, 3.7 mm for a rotation around two axes, and 4.5 mm for a rotation around three axes. The measured errors in position was $0.1{\pm}0.1mm$ for a rotation around single axis, $0.2{\pm}0.2mm$ for double and triple axes. These small errors verified that the rotation error correction function of Leksell GammaPlan$^{(R)}$ is working fine. Conclusion: A virtual phantom was built to verify software functions of stereotactic neurosurgery treatment planning program. The error correction function of a commercial treatment planning program worked within nominal error range. The virtual phantom of this study can be applied in many other fields to verify various functions of treatment planning programs.
In ocean color remote sensing, atmospheric correction is a vital process for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of ocean color products. Furthermore, in recent years, the remote sensing community has intensified its requirements for understanding errors in satellite data. Accordingly, research is currently addressing errors in remote sensing reflectance (Rrs) resulting from inaccuracies in meteorological variables (total ozone, pressure, wind field, and total precipitable water) used as auxiliary data for atmospheric correction. However, there has been no investigation into the error in Rrs caused by the variability of the water vapor profile, despite it being a recognized error source. In this study, we used the Second Simulation of a Satellite Signal Vector version 2.1 simulation to compute errors in water vapor transmittance arising from variations in the water vapor profile within the GOCI-II observation area. Subsequently, we conducted an analysis of the associated errors in ocean color products. The observed water vapor profile not only exhibited a complex shape but also showed significant variations near the surface, leading to differences of up to 0.007 compared to the US standard 62 water vapor profile used in the GOCI-II atmospheric correction. The resulting variation in water vapor transmittance led to a difference in aerosol reflectance estimation, consequently introducing errors in Rrs across all GOCI-II bands. However, the error of Rrs in the 412-555 nm due to the difference in the water vapor profile band was found to be below 2%, which is lower than the required accuracy. Also, similar errors were shown in other ocean color products such as chlorophyll-a concentration, colored dissolved organic matter, and total suspended matter concentration. The results of this study indicate that the variability in water vapor profiles has minimal impact on the accuracy of atmospheric correction and ocean color products. Therefore, improving the accuracy of the input data related to the water vapor column concentration is even more critical for enhancing the accuracy of ocean color products in terms of water vapor absorption correction.
We present a method for modelling the terrain response of gravity gradiometry surveys utilising an adaptive quadtree mesh discretization. The data- and terrain-dependent method is tailored to provide rapid and accurate terrain corrections for draped and barometric airborne surveys. The surface used in the modelling of the terrain effect for each datum is discretized automatically to the largest cell size that will yield the desired accuracy, resulting in much faster modelling than full-resolution calculations. The largest cell sizes within the model occur in areas of minimal terrain variation and at large distances away from the datum location. We show synthetic and field examples for proof of concept. In the presented field example, the adaptive quadtree method reduces the computational cost by performing 351 times fewer calculations than the full model would require while retaining an accuracy of one E$\"{o}$tv$\"{o}$s for the gradient data. The method is also used for the terrain correction of the gravity field and performed 310 times faster compared with a calculation of the full digital elevation model.
Previous settlement prediction methods based on settlement monitoring were developed under instantaneous loading condition and have restriction to be applied to soft ground under ramp loading condition. In this study, settlement prediction method under ramp loading was developed. New settlement prediction method under ramp loading considered influence factors of consolidation settlement such as thickness of clayed layer, quantity of surcharge load and preconsolidation pressure, etc. Geometrical correction method based on hyperbolic method (1991) and correction method based on probability theory were applied to increase accuracy of settlement prediction using field monitoring data after ramp loading. Large consolidation tests for ideally controlled one dimensional consolidation under ramp loading condition were performed and the settlement behavior was predicted based on the monitoring data. New prediction method yielded good result of entire settlement behavior by using data during an early stage of ramp load. Additionally, new prediction method offered better settlement prediction which had final settlement prediction in close proximity and low RMSE(Root Mean Square Error) than previous method such as hyperbolic method did.

Real time location system was development for safety management at road and bridge maintenance field. The system can check the real-time location detection, movement history, behavior of a number of laborers. The system consisted of a Bluetooth and ZigBee that uses low-power. It had a very large error that the previous method for the position recognition by triangulation using the RSSI. Because This study proposed a new distance measurement and correction scheme using RSSI and accelerometer. It was evaluated in the maintenance field. A development system were evaluated in the field, the results are shown an error between 0.2 m and 0.4 m. And through the acceleration of history it was confirmed by determining possible to determine the safety situation of the laborers.
This study was performed to calculate the degration rate coefficient, operating parameters to meet the effluent standards, and the temperature adjustment coefficients to each parameter of pollution by seasonal variation of concentration and temperature of influent in livestock wastewater treatment by sequencing batch reactor process in field scale. The followings are the conclusions that were derived from this study. 1. In the field, temperature of livestock wastewater in reactor was 20.3$\circ$C in summer and 6.0$\circ$C in winter. The ratio of BOD:TKN: T-P in influent was 100:80:7. BOD loadings in winter and spring were 0.26 and 0.43 kg $BOD/m^3$ day, respectively. Those in summer and fall were 0.25 and 0.13 kg $BOD/m^3$ day, respectively. 2. The degradation rate coefficient for TKN was larger in summer and fall in which temperature was high than that in which temperature was high than that in winter and spring in which concentration was high. On the contrary, the phosphorus uptake rate was larger in winter and spring than that in summer and fall. 3. The hydraulic retention time in winter and spring was longer than that in summer and fall. Especially, in order to meet the standard for TKN of 120 mg/l in winter in which temperature of wastewater was 6.0$\circ$C, as the MLSS concentration was increased from 4, 000 to 7, 000 mg/l, the hydraulic retention time was increased from 212 to 121 hours. But, in order to shorten that less than 121 hours for the economical wastewater treatment, countermeasure to increase temperature of wastewater in the reactor should be considered. 4. the temperature adjustment coefficients for BOD, $COD_{Mn}$, TKN and T-P were 1.0241, 1.0225, 1.0541 and 1.0495, respectively. Namely, the treatment of TKN was most sensitively affected by temperature. For the purpose of the effective removal of nitrogen and phosphorus which are sensitive to temperature, it is necessary to keep the temperature of livestock wastewater more than 20$\circ$C which is the temperature of it in summer.

For the purpose of the acoustic performance evaluation of noise reduction device(NRD) installed at the top of noise barrier for further decreasing of noise level of 400km/h class high-speed railroad(HEMU), the acoustic performance test method using speaker instead of really running railway vehicle was suggested in this paper. For this, noise source location and frequency spectrum of HEMU was analyzed through the field noise test. These data were used for the determination of speaker's installation positions and frequency correction values applied to the speaker noise source. And, 400 meters long NRD was installed at the site where HEMU will be running at a speed of 400km/h. Finally, the outdoor speaker test with and without NRD showed that this NRD could decrease noise level even more than 3dB(A). In the future, the acoustic performance results of NRD conducted with speaker test will be compared with that of field test for HEMU running at a speed of 400km/h.
