Thermal stress and elastic creeping stress analysis was conducted by finite element method to simulate start-up process of a boiler header of 500MW standard fossil power plant. Start-up temperature and operating pressure history were simplified from the real field data and they were used for the thermal stress analysis. Two kinds of thermal stress analysis were considered. In the first case only temperature increase was considered and in the second case both of temperature and operating pressure histories were considered. In the first analysis peak stress was occurred during the temperature increase from the room temperature. Hence cracking or fracture may occur at the temperature far below the operating maximum temperature. In the results of the second analysis von Mises stress appeared to be higher after the second temperature increase. This is due to internal pressure increase not due to the thermal stress. When the stress components of radial(r), hoop($\theta$) and longitudinal(z) stress were investigated, compression hoop stress was occurred at inner surface of the stub tube when the temperature increased from room temperature to elevated temperature. Then it was changed to tension hoop stress and increased because of the operating pressure. It was expected that frequent start-up and shut-down operations could cause thermal fatigue damage and cracking at the stub tube hole in the header. Elastic-creeping analysis was also carried out to investigate the stress relaxation due to creep and stabilized stress after considerable elapsed time. The results could be used for assessing the creep damage and the residual life of the boiler header during the long-tenn service.
In deep open pit mines, slope stability is very important. Particularly, increasing the depths increase the risks in mines having weak rock mass. Blasting operations in this type of open pits may have a negative impact on slope stability. Several or combination of methods can be used in order to enable better analysis in this type of deep open-pit mines. Numerical modeling is one of these options. Many complex problems can be integrated into numerical methods at the same time and analysis, solutions can be performed on a single model. Rock failure criterions and rock models are used in numerical modeling. Hoek-Brown and Mohr-Coulomb terms are the two most commonly used rock failure conditions. In this study, mine planning and discontinuity conditions of a lignite mine facing two big landslides previously, has been investigated. Moreover, the presence of some damage before starting the study was identified in surrounding structures. The primary research of this study is on slope study. In slope stability analysis, numerical modeling methods with Hoek-Brown and Mohr-Coulomb failure criterions were used separately. Preparing the input data to the numerical model, the outcomes of patented-blast vibration minimization method, developed by co-author was used. The analysis showed that, the model prepared by applying Hoek-Brown failure criterion, failed in the stage of 10. However, the model prepared by using Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion did not fail even in the stage 17. Examining the full research field, there has been ongoing production in this mine without any failure and damage to surface structures.

The dynamic pricing of electricity, where the electricity rate increases in a time zone with a high demand for electricity is typically applied to a building whose power reception capacity is greater than a certain size. This includes the time of use(TOU) electricity pricing in Korea which can induce the effect of reducing the power demand of a building. Meanwhile, a VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) system that uses electricity is regarded as one of the typical heating and cooling systems along with central air conditioning (central HVAC) for its easy operation and application to the building. Thus, to reduce power energy and operating costs of a building in which the TOU and VRF systems are applied simultaneously, we suggested a control for changing the indoor temperature setting within the thermal comfort range or limiting the rotational speed of an inverter compressor. In this study, to describe the features of the above-mentioned control and verify its effects, we evaluated the results obtained from the analysis of its operation data. Through the actual measurements in winter operations for 73 days since mid- December 2014, we confirmed a reduction of 10.9% in power energy consumption and 12.2% in operating costs by the new control. Also, a reduction of 13.3% in power energy consumption was identified through a regression analysis.
The purpose of this paper is to propose the modeling of multiagent based SCM and implement the prototype in the Internet environment. SCM process follows the supply chain operations reference (SCOR) model which has been suggested by Supply Chain Counsil. SCOR model has been positioned to become the industry standard for describing and improving operational process in SCM. Five basic processes, plan, source, matte, deliver and return are defined in the SCOR model, through which a company establishes its supply chain competitive objectives. A supply chain is a world wide network of suppliers, factories, warehouses, distribution centers and retailers through which raw materials are acquired, transformed or manufactured and delivered to customers by autonomous or semiautonomous process. With the pressure from the higher standard of customer compliance, a frequent model change, product complexity and globalization, the combination of supply chain process with an advanced infrastructure in terms of multiagent systems have been highly required. Since SCM is fundamentally concerned with coherence among multiple decision makers, a multiagent framework based on explicit communication between constituent agents such as suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors is a natural choice. Multiagent framework is defined to perform different activities within a supply chain. Dynamic and changing functions of supply chain can be dealt with multi-agent by cooperating with other agents. In the areas of inventory management, remote diagnostics, communications with field workers, order fulfillment including tracking and monitoring, stock visibility, real-time shop floor data collection, asset tracking and warehousing, customer-centric supply chain can be applied and implemented utilizing multiagent. In this paper, for the order processing event between the buyer and seller relationship, multiagent were defined corresponding to the SCOR process. A prototype system was developed and implemented on the actual TCP/IP environment for the purchase order processing event. The implementation result assures that multiagent based SCM enhances the speed, visibility, proactiveness and responsiveness of activities in the supply chain.
Previous research on the management of health care organization has heavily focused on health care quality and operational efficiency, whereas this research deals with flexibility, an important strategic priority in the field of operations management. Particularly, this research analyzes the effects that internal and external resources of volume and product flexibilities have on the organization's financial performance. Survey data from various types of sampled domestic hospitals have been collected using the developed questionnaire and analyzed with a regression model. The results show that volume flexibility based on internal resources has not only main effects but also interaction effects with internal and external resources of product flexibility. However, volume flexibility based on external resources is not shown to have any effect on performance. The explanation and managerial implications from the results are discussed.

A study on fugitive dusts was conducted at Saemangeum reclaimed land located in Gim-je area. The monitoring result on the fugitive and suspended dust was significantly affected by the farming activities (harvesting and land cultivation) and vehicles passing nearby the measuring points. The concentration of the fugitive dust generated from the reclaimed land was reduced remarkably by the effect of halophyte present on the ground and the tide embankment. Comparing the data collected in 2006 and 2007, the concentrations of TSP and PM10 decreased by 47.4% and 29.5%, respectively. After harvesting operations at paddy field, TSP increased by 22% while PM10 increased by 54%. The concentration of a Cl- which is a representative ion of sea-salt decreased to about 35% in 2007 compared with 2006. This represents that the inside area change and plant covering rate affected on the decrease of fugitive dust. The correlation analysis for the compounds of topsoil at each measuring point shows that near the coastline is more comparable. The canopy of halophyte in the source area also increased which reduced the fugitive dust remarkably. The dust distribution measured by dust spectrometer at the same point shows that most particles are $0.5{\mu}m$ to 2um size but not greater than $5{\mu}m$.
As livestock diseases such as foot-and-mouth disease are highly infectious and likely to inflict nationwide damage, it is important to detect such diseases in advance. Infection of foot-and-mouth disease is determined in the field through examination of external symptoms such as rise in body temperature. However, as the disease is carried around initially by travelling veterinarians in some cases, it is critical to measure the body temperature of livestock to detect abnormal temperature pattern early on and transmit temperature reading data remotely to a veterinarian remotely to expedite decision. In this study, we have developed a telemedicine system designed to connect veterinarians and livestock farmers and measure the body temperature of Korean beef cattle with IR sensor module linked to ubiquitous ICT platform as a solution for controlling health conditions of Korean beef cattle and improving the efficiency of livestock farming operations at individual farm, regional, and national level by converging ubiquitous ICT platform and livestock farming practices. Successfully employing the state-of-the-art IT technologies of Korea, the system proposed herein is expected to make Korea's livestock farming industry more sustainable and help the nation to secure technological preeminence in the global livestock products market.

The linking system between the control system and the field devices in the existing EMS/SCADA, in order to increase the reliability of the data, and access control through the separation of external network. Currently, There is a tendency that the need for connection to an external network that takes into account the economic aspect, systematic management and efficiency of operations is increasing. Such is evolved linkage section, is to have more security vulnerabilities than in the past, Eventually communication EMS/SCADA linkage section requires special management method. In this paper, taking into account the domestic environment, were presented the security Certification and Accreditation technology that was applied to serial DNP3 and TCP/IP based DNP3 that are mainly used in EMS/SCADA linkage section. Presented to security of Certification and Accreditation technology, divided into Resource Robustness Test and Malicious Packet Test for evaluate the safety. Each of the security requirements and evaluation method in proposed technology, is an attempt to present the differentiation of the existing Certification and Accreditation technology.
The dissimilarities between South and North Korea have persisted in spite of the reconciliation campaign by both countries. The situation of the cleft lip & palate of North Korea was very unclear until now. The purpose of this study is to understand all the current facts of cleft lip & palate in North Korea so that we can find ways of helping North Korea in this field of medicine. The present data and analysis are extracted from North Korean textbooks. The results are as follow. 1. In North Korea, patients with CLP are treated by oral surgeons or maxillofacial surgeons. The detailed contents about the CLP are well described in the North Korean textbooks for the dental students. 2. The terminology of CLP in North Korea has changed from time to time, but the present terminology not being so different from South Korean counterpart. So there will be no particular problems in mutual communication. 3. The main classification for CLP in North Korea originated from Kernahan & Stark's classification as is with South Korea. 4. The incidence of CLP is 1 : 1,000-1,200 in North Korea, which is lower than that of South Korea. There is, however, some difference between the North and South Korean CLP in detailed statistics. 5. We found the North Korean physicians have shown much interest in pursuing the etiology and the prevention of CLP. 6. The timing of CLP operations varied a lot in North Korea. There was recommendation by few for the operation in much late age than in South Korea. 7. The classical operation techniques of cleft lip have changed. For unilateral cleft lip Tennison-Randall method was replaced by Millard I method: and for bilateral cleft lip LeMesurier method was replaced by Veau III and Tennison methods. But for cleft palate Pushback palatoplasty has been utilized consistently.
In this study, the Tier 2 method recommended by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was used to predict the methane generation rate at two landfill sites, designated as Y and C for purposes of this study, in South Korea. Factors such as the average annual waste disposal, methane emissions ($L_0$) and methane gas generation rate constant (k) were estimated by analyses of waste and the historical data for the landfills. The value of k was estimated by field experiments and then the changes in the methane generation rate were predicted through the year 2050, based on the value of k. The Y landfill site, which was in operation until the year 2008, will generate a total of 17, 198.7 tons by the end of 2018, according to our estimations. At the C landfill site, which will not be closed until the end of 2011, the amount of methane gas generated in 2011 will be 3,316 tons and the total amount of gas generated by 2029 will be 61,200 tons. The total production rate of methane gas at the C landfill is higher than that of the Y landfill. This indicates that the capacity of a landfill site affects the production rate of methane gas. However, the interrelation between the generation rate of methane and the value of k is weak. In addition, the generation of methane gas does not cease even when the operations at a landfill site come to a close and the methane gas production rate is at its highest at end of the operating life of a landfill site.
