  • CAN(Controller Area Network)은 시스템이 간단하고 저렴하게 구현 할 수 있는 필드버스(Field bus)로써 1980년대 독일의 BOSCH사에 의해 자동차 제어용 네트워크로 개발되었고, 실시간 계측제어 능력이 우수하여 산업전반(산업 자동화, 건을 자동화, 의료 장비, 열차, 중장비 차량)에 사용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 CAN의 단일 마스터 시스템(Single Master System)에서 마스터 노드에 문제가 발생할 때, 전체 시스템이 다운되는 현상을 악기 위해 마스터 노드를 동적으로 변화시키는 동적 마스터 시스템(Dynamic Master System)을 제안하고 기존의 시스템과 비교하여 시스템의 가용성을 알아보았다.

  • In recent years, a lot of industrial equipments have serial communication channel such as FieldBus (CAN, Profibus, etc.) or Ethernet that provides real time communication between industrial equipments. Theses applications include gantry crane, robot, chip mounter, etc.. In this paper, we discuss the synchronization technique for networked multi-motor systems where controllers (commercial servo amps) are distributed and interconnected by CAN (Controller Area Networks). We first describe the equivalent model for the individual servo-amp and motor using the frequency response. We design the $H{\infty}$ controller for motion synchronization. Finally, the synchronization technique using the equivalent model and the $H{\infty}$ controller is verified by the simulation and the experiment.

  • This paper presents a Train Communication Network simulator (TCNS) that can be used to evaluate the performance of TCN. TCN was accepted as the standard of the protocol for the communication network in trains. We carry out some simulation tests using the TCNS to show practical uses of the simulator. Results of some simulation tests are also reported

  • To solve the problems of energy and environment conservation issued recently, mainly in mechanical engineering point of view, R&D's on the thermal, fluid and environmental engineering technology have been carried out by two R&D departments in the Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials (KIMM). Now there are 65 researchers in the two. The representative projects in the field of thermal and fluid engineering are development of an inactive gas generator and development of a cryogenic cooler for electronic sensors. Pyrolysis and melting of wastes, gas treatment using nonthermal plasma, and desalination are important technology to be developed in environmental R&D areas. To reduce the emission from the existing diesel engines for buses, an LPG direct injection type of bus engine is being developed supported by LPG supply companies. These several R&D projects which have been carried out in KIMM are introduced briefly.

  • 본 고에서는 분산제어 시스템의 일반적인 요건 및 기능, 시스템 구조에 대하여 정리해 보고, 발전소용 분산제어 시스템으로써 국내 최초의 개발품이 될 KEDIC 시스템의 구성과 기능들을 살펴본 후 선진제품과 대등한 수준 더 나아가 앞서 수준으로 가기위해 노력해야 할 향후 과제들을 설정해 보았다. 기술 대형화 및 종합화 측면에서 분산제어 시스템의 기구 기술, 아날로그 및 디지탈 하드웨어 기술, 현장의 엔지니어링 기술, 프로세스 제어기술, Field Bus 및 LAN(Local Area Network)등의 통신기술, GUI로 대표되는 MMI(Man-Machine Interface) 기술, 기타 소프트웨어적으로 현장 데이타 및 운전 지원 데이타 관리에 필요한 데이타베이스 관리 기술과 실시간 처리기술 등이 통합되어 있다. 따라서 요소기술의 확보 혹은 기술 수준의 향상에 꾸준한 관심을 기울여야 함은 물론이거니와 무엇보다도 요소기술 변화에 대응할 수 있는 시스템 통합기술력 배양에 노력을 기울여야 할것이다.

  • FieldBus communication systems in industrial wired and wireless network may cause the degradation of the TCP performance due to the racket loss. TCP is particularly targeted at the wired networks, a packet loss is assumed to be caused by the network congestion. As a result, the performance of TCP decreases significantly when used over networks that exhibit a high bit error rate. In order to solve this problem, this paper designs and implements the WFSnoop mechanism which offers a fast local retransmission. The proposed mechanism does not require any changes in customer premises. Base on the simulation in the wired and wireless network environment, we analyzed the performance of the WFSnoop mechanism.

  • Cryogenic technology is one of the key technologies for fusion reactor equipped with superconducting coil for plasma confinement. The KSTAR(Korea Superconducting Tokamak Advanced Research)Project is in progress since 1996. Major parameters of the KSTAR tokamak are : major radius 1.8m, minor radius 0.5m, toroidal field 3.5 Tesla and plasma current 2MA with a strongly shaped plasma cross-section and double -null diverter. Considering practical engineering constraints, the KSTAR device is designed for a pulse length of 300 sec in up-graded operation mode but in the initial configuration would provide a pulse length of 20 sec provided by the poloidal coil system in base-line operation mode. The cryogenic system is composed as follows : cold box, helium compressor system, distribution box, helium gas buffer tank, helium gas purifying system, gas recovery system, liquid helium storage dewar, current lead box, current bus line and liquid nitrogen storage tank.

  • This paper is concerned with the vibration characteristics of medium-rise building, which severely vibrated by vehicles. The field vibration measurement was employed for finding the vibration source and vibration reducing method. Time domain data from measurements were also utilized for vibration characteristics, such as effect of buses and subways-induced vibration on the floor vibration of the building. effectiveness of the vibration reducing method was also demonstrated.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a scheme to provide children safer and more comfortable walking circumstances by survey current walking circumstances of school zone ways. First, to avoid pedestrian roads being interrupted and to expand waiting space near school zone ways, several measures are needed including fixing roads, using schools' unemployed spaces and building additional gateway. Second, pedestrian crossings in front of school gate should be located at least 23.16m away from the left side of the gate. Third, on narrow path which cross main streets, the interval of pedestrian signal should be extended as against of the moment. And traffic calming facilities should be built on accurate position. Fourth, to secure pedestrians' safety and field of view, trees lining streets and any obstacles located within 10m from bus stop sign should be removed. Finally, education system about school zone ways should be improved to help children get used to more complicated roads' conditions.

  • Diminishing fare rate to distance is widely applied in transportation field including bus, but the decision method of diminishing rate is not established. The basic concept of diminishing fare rate to distance is that passengers have a benefit according to their travel distance. Furthermore, this can be justified in the standpoint of operator because the cost of long-distance traveller is lower than that of short-distance traveller to make same income. It is essential to introduce diminishing fare rate to distance to decide diminishing rate. We suggested methodologies regarding how to decide diminishing rate on the basis of operator costs.
