관련 소 재를 살펴보면 항공기 엔진에 많이 사용되는 nickel-based superalloy로부터, land-based turbine rotor 등에 사용되는 low alloy ferritic steel 등으로 다양하다.

  • A study has been made to clarify the microstructural effect on static tensile properties of the dual phase steel, in which the martensitic phase encapsulated islands of ferritic phase. The main results are as follows: Yield strength is associated with the degree of plastic constraint factor and tensile strength increases with increasing of strain hardening exponent. Also, the variation of ductility is dependent upon the amount of micro-brittle facets.

  • Ferritic stainless steels would be the most important alloys under the chloride environment. They are a cheaper alternative to austenitic stainless steels [1]. The present study is related to gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) characteristics of Type 444 stainless steels. The heat of welding leads to grain coarsening in the HAZ and in the weld metal of ferritic stainless steels because they solidify directly from the liquid to the ferritc phase without any intermediate phase transformation. It is therefore recommended that these alloys be welded with a low heat input and at high welding speeds. Attempts to improve weldability were made by using of direct current straight polarity (DCSP) and pulsed current GTAW processes in this study. Measuring weld bead, grain size and Erichsen test were performed and the effects of heat input, pulse frequency on the weld metal and HAZ were studied. The main results were obtained as followings: decreasing heat input was effective to control the width of weld both in DCSP welding and in pulsed current welding; pulsed current welding was found to refine the grain size effectively and the finest grain size was found at the frequency of 150Hz in pulsed current welding; it was found that decreasing heat input also refine the HAZs effectively and the frequency had no different effect on HAZ at the same heat input; the ductility could be improved effectively in pulsed current welding.

  • The oxidation behaviors of Y-Cr bilayer deposited on ferritic steel by magnetron-sputtering for application of the Fe-Cr alloys as interconnectors of planar-type solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) were studied. After oxidation at $800^{\circ}C$ for 40 hours, the major phase of $Y_2$$O_3$and the minor phase of $YCrO_3$, $Mn_{1.5}$ $Cr_{1.5}$ $O_4$and Cr$_2$SiO$_4$were formed in the Y/Cr bilayered samples, while the major phase of Cr$_2$O$_3$and the minor phase of $Y_2$$O_3$were formed as the major phase in the Cr/Y bilayered samples. The Log(ASR/T) that expresses electric resistance of the Y/Cr coated specimen with nonconducting $_Y2$$O_3$oxide showed high value of -2.80 Ω$\textrm{cm}^2$$K^{-1}$ / and that of the Cr/Y coated specimen with conducting $Cr_2$$O_3$oxide appeared to be -4.11 Ω$\textrm{cm}^2$$^{K}$ . The electric resistance of the Y/Cr coated specimen was largely increased due to the formation of high resistance oxide scales. However, the Cr/Y coated specimen did not show any increase in the electric resistance and had the long-term stability of oxidation because there was no formation of the secondary phases with low conductivity.

  • The integrity of the industrial equipment in use under high temperature and high pressure must be assessed by regularly measuring the degraded mechanical properties during service time. In order to nondestructively monitor the degraded mechanical properties of industrial equipment, a measuring method of the reversible permeability(RP) using surface type probe is presented. The method for measuring the RP is based on that RP is the differential value of hysteresis loop. The RP is exactly the foundation hatmonics induced in a detecting coil measured by lock-in amplifier tuned to a frequency of the alternating perturbing magnetic field. The peak of RP is measured around the coercive force. Steel material used in this work was 12Cr ferritic heat resisting steel. The eleven kinds of samples aged during different times under same temperature ($700^{\circ}C$) were prepared. Peak interval of reversible permeability(PIRP), Vickers hardness, and tensile strength measured for the aged samples decreased abruptly for short aging time (below 500 h), but the change became small at a long aging time. Vickers hardness and tensile strength linearly decreased as RIRP decreased, so the degraded mechanical properties of 12Cr ferritic heat resisting steel could be nondestructively evaluated by measuring RIRP.

  • Asymmetric rolling, in which the circumferential velocities of the upper and lower rolls are different, can give rise to intense plastic shear strains and in turn shear deformation textures through the sheet thickness. The ideal shear deformation texture of fcc metals can be approximated by the <111> // ND and $\{001\}<110>$ orientations, among which the former improves the deep drawability. The ideal shear deformation texture for bcc metals can be approximated by the Goss $\{110\}<001>\;and\;\{112\}<111>$ orientations, among which the former improves the magnetic permeability along the <100> directions and is the prime orientation in grain oriented silicon steels. The intense shear strains can result in the grain refinement and hence improve mechanical properties. Steel sheets, especially ferritic stainless steel sheets, and aluminum alloy sheets may exhibit an undesirable surface roughening known as ridging or roping, when elongated along RD and TD, respectively. The ridging or roping is caused by differently oriented colonies, which are resulted from the <100> oriented columnar structure in ingots or billets, especially for ferritic stainless steels, that is not easily destroyed by the conventional rolling. The breakdown of columnar structure and the grain refinement can be achieved by asymmetric rolling, resulting in a decrease in the ridging problem.

  • The ultrasonic test is recognized for its significance as a non-destructive testing method to detect volume defects such as porosity and incomplete penetration which reduce strength in the weld zone. This paper illustrates the defect detection in the weld zone of ferritic carbon steel using ultrasonic wave and the evaluation of pattern recognition by chaotic feature extraction using time series signal of detected defects as data. Shown in the time series data were that the time delay was 4 and the embedding dimension was 6 which indicate the geometric dimension of the subject system and the extent of information correlation. Based on fractal dimension and lyapunov exponent in quantitative chaotic feature extraction, feature value of 2.15, 0.47 is presented for porosity and 2.24, 0.51 for incomplete penetration The precision rate of the pattern recognition is enhanced with these values on the total waveform of defect signal in the weld zone. Therefore, we think that the ultrasonic pattern recognition method of weld zone defects of ferritic carbon steel by ultrasonic-chaotic feature extraction proposed in this paper can boost precision rate further than the existing method applying only partial waveform.
