Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore job stress, job satisfaction and their relationship among Workers' Compensation Case Managers. Method: 137 Workers' Compensation Case Managers (89 case workers and 48 nurses) responded to a self-administered questionnaire. The data were collected in october, 2006 and analyzed using t-test and Pearson's Correlation Coefficient with SPSS WIN 14.0 program. Result: The mean score of job stress of nurses was 2.60 which was higher than that of the Korean female workers'. The mean score of job satisfaction was 2.30. The significant inverse correlation between job stress and job satisfaction was found (P<.01). In regard to the 7 items, the significant inverse correlations were found in lack of reward, interpersonal conflict, organizational system, insufficient job control, and occupational environment. Conclusion: The result indicated that the Workers' Compensation Case Managers have higher occupational stress and lower job satisfaction. To improve their job satisfaction, it is necessary to reinforce reward, organizational system, job autonomy, and cooperative occupational environment.
Fast food restaurants are growing in numbers in Korea since they were introduced abot a decade ago. To develop an effective marketing strategy for fast foods, it is important to assess consumer's acceptability and identify demorgraphic, environmental, and managerial factors which influence consumer's perception on the fast food restaurants. A total of 595 customers were surveyed at thirty hamburger chain restaurants in Seoul from November 7 to 15, 1988. Analyses of the collected data revealed that adolescents, females, and the people with high income were the major customers and visited more than once or twice a week; frequent visitors rated meals more favorably in terms of the quality, service and cleanliness, and they also rated meals of foreign brand more favorable than those of domestic one; the female group perceived the change in their dietary habits more than any other groups; cleanliness, convenience, atmosphere, courtesy, and the taste of foods were significant factors in purchasing fast foods; and customers were most satisfied with convenience, while least satisfied with the price and the quantity of foods. From these findings, it is sggested that the manager of the fast food restaurant must consider the consumer's perception of fast foods in terms of pros and cons in order to operate her/his restaurant successfully.
BACKGROUND: The present study is an exploratory research to establish national biosafety regulation systems through a survey on the recognition of safety regulation systems for the living modified organism(LMO). METHODS AND RESULTS: We have conducted a survey on an awareness of LMO safety regulation systems in scientific working groups. The data of 235 respondents were analyzed using various statistical methods. As a result, 72.8% of the respondents were male; 27.2% were female, and 43.4% of them work in the university. A total of 33.2% of the respondents majored in general biology, and their most common job position was the laboratory safety manager. The difference of an awareness on LMO law and regulatory system was not statistically significant by either work places or job positions. CONCLUSION: For the rapid settlement and the efficient implementation of LMO safety management policy, we conclude that it is required to reduce the gap between the recognition and fulfillment of safety management. Furthermore, the mutual exchanges of information among researchers are needed with the settlement of the safety management system and the harmony of policy with improvement of the absurd regulations. The ongoing and specialized training, inspections, and the strengthening of public relations are also required along with the efforts to improve the absurd regulations.
The purpose of this paper is to diagnose the errors by comparing putting motion with the single pendulum pattern applicable to putting in golf skill and order prescription that correct errors of putting. Six cameras, ProReflex MCU240(240Hz) made by Qualisys company is used to capture putting motion and data is processed by QTM(Qualisys Track Manager) and Mathematica 5.0. The result that differentiates the putting and the single pendulum pattern is acquired To make the pattern of subject's putting to the single pendulum pattern quasi-equal, one tries to lower center of mass gradually. As a result of it, one has a similar pattern like the single pendulum Conclusively, to lower C.O.M one orders prescriptions that increase the weight and length of a putter and lower C.O.M subject's segment. Further improvements to the study could be to train a subject according to prescriptions and to monitor putting again. It will probably be necessary to simulate putting motions and to research relations for body shapes and putting patterns in order to establish suitable putting-motions.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the cooker's regnition and real attitude abut standard cost system who are engazing in hotel restaurants in Seoul area. The sample was consisted of 307 cookers(male ; 82.7%, female ; 17.3%_ and the used method in analyzing is surveying method and statistical analysis(SPSS PC Package ; Version 3.0). The results of this study are summarized as follows ; 1. Standard cost system, mass purchase and proper recipe were presented in order to economize on real cost and the purchase and preservation of food were presented as important control factor to econimize cost. 2. Most coolers were recognizing the necessity of standard cost system and they relyed the purpose of standard cost calculation on standard cost control. They also thought standard cost accounting information system as good method to economize cost and they were favorable abut the usage of computer in improving working ability. 3. Most of cookers(80%) wanted to be independant restaurant manager and they were favorable Korean restaurant and Western restaurant. 4. The cookers represented the oder of importance by nutrition, preferance of food, economy in composing cooking menu and by taste, odor, variety, decoration in cooking.
As healthcare environment being more complex and turbulent, strategic approach of hospitals became more important. This study was to investigate strategic orientation of Korean hospitals and their related characteristics. We surveyed managers of 360 hospitals randomly selected from all hospitals in Korea. For typology of strategic orientation, we used that developed by Miles and Snow, and results are as follows. Firstly, major types of organizational strategic orientation of Korean hospitals were analyzer(42.0%) and prospector(34.0%). Secondly, characteristics affecting to hospitals' strategic orientation significantly were hospital ownership and sex of managers. Medical corporation had a high tendency of prospector strategic orientation by 2.7 times compared to personal ownership. Female managers had a low tendency of prospector strategic orientation by 0.2, which was statistically significant. Though 60+ age group (compared to twenties and thirties) and middle managers (compared to CEO) had a tendency of being more prospector strategic orientation, but insignificant. The study result that majority of strategic orientation were prospector and analyzer reflects Korean hospital environment are complex and unstable. Hospital managers need to more focus on environment and boundary spanning function for maintenance and survival of their organizations.
This study was executed to provide the basic data to prevent and manage the workers' metabolic syndrome (MS) in workplace by analyzing the health examination data of 1,152 workers at the ages from 19 to 34 and comparing the differences in MS prevalence, its components and living habits according to obesity. As a result, MS prevalence showed 8.9% in male and 1.5% in female respectively. MS prevalence according to obesity showed the differences that prevalence of male subjects without obesity was 1.6% and 21.7% with obesity and prevalence of female subjects without obesity was 0% and 12.5% with obesity. Components of MS according to obesity showed 4 factors except hypertriglyceridemia were significantly related with obesity in female subjects and all factors were significantly related with obesity in male subjects. With the above results, obesity is identified as the risk factor affecting MS prevalence and components of younger than 40 year old workers. Therefore, it is suggested health manager should consistently implement obesity management to prevent and manage the MS in working place and increase the workers' participation through the development and utilization of a web-based obesity management program considering space-time restriction and efficiently manage the MS.
Purpose - Recently, entrepreneurship education has been revitalized with interest in entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship education is an educational service activity that is provided for entrepreneurship and individual start-up success within a certain period of time. According to previous studies on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship, the satisfaction of entrepreneurship education affects entrepreneurship and as a result increases entrepreneurship. In recent years, the number of female entrepreneurs has also increased as the number of entrepreneurial issues has increased. Based on previous studies, this research proposed the theoretical framework about the structural relationships among mentoring quality (career development, psychological social, role modeling), education satisfaction, recommendation intention and entrepreneurial intention. This study is to find out the possibility of attempting to create a theoretical basis for entrepreneurial mentoring education in entrepreneurship education program. Research design, data, and methodology - In this model, mentoring quality consists of three sub-dimensions such as career development, psychological social, and role modeling. In order to test research model and hypotheses, the data were collected from 203 female college students who participated in entrepreneurial education. The data were analyzed using frequency analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equational modeling with SPSS 24.0 and SmartPLS 3.0 statistical program. Result - The results of the study are as follows. First, role modeling has a positive effect on recommendation intention and entrepreneurial intention. Second, career development has a strong negative effect on the entrepreneurial intention. Third, career development and role modeling had a positive effect on educational satisfaction, and educational satisfaction had positive influence on recommendation intention and entrepreneurial intention. Conclusions - As women's social advancement becomes more active, start-up support programs including entrepreneurship mentoring are increasing. The results of this study suggest how to use the mentoring program mix and how to allocate the resources for the education program when the entrepreneurial education manager plans and executes the mentoring education program. For example, this study shows that career development and role modeling enhance educational satisfaction, and in turn increase recommendation intention and entrepreneurial intention. This means that entrepreneurship education should consist of contents that include career development functions such as sponsorship, guidance, protection, and provision of challenging work. In addition, the findings of this study indicate that mentors should perform the function of allowing the participants to have confidence and professional thinking ability at the time of start up based on their experiences.

Objectives: The aim of the present study was undertaken to investigate the association between communication for chemical hazard information and characteristics of occupational safety and health managers. Subjects and Methods: We surveyed 78 occupational safety and health managers(64 male and 14 female) in 78 chemical manufacturing plants. Data were obtained using a self-reported questionnaire about size and type of company, products, communication system for chemicals and work-related characteristics of occupational safety and health managers. All analyses in this study were performed using SPSS program 12.0. Results: 64.1% of the study participants were occupational health managers aged 39.3 years on average and were graduated from college and university around 90%. 30.0% and of them were majoring in chemistry (engineering chemistry), 18.0% occupational health, 16% nursing and 30.0% others. Occupational safety managers were aged 39.4 years on average, 42.9% of them were majoring in chemistry (engineering chemistry), 21.4% environmental engineering, 10.7% occupational safety and 25% others. 86% of occupational health managers and 71.4% of occupational safety managers were classified as office job. Over 94% of the hazards information for chemicals were delivered by occupational safety and health managers, but about 28.2% workers preferred outside experts who have a profound knowledge about occupational safety and health and understandable. Occupational safety and health managers and workers had difficulties in understanding toxicological information, hazards identification, stability/reactivity, composition/information on ingredients, physical/chemical properties and ecological information. On multiple logistic regression analysis for the 16 heading of material safety data sheet, content of material safety data sheet was significantly associated with education level (odds ratio=0.286, 95% confidence interval=0.105-0.780). The hazard identification (odds ratio=3.947, 95% confidence interval=1.092-14.271) and toxicological information (odds ratio=0.841, 95% confidence interval=0.705-0.998) were significantly associated with type of occupation. Conclusions: This finding implies that the education level, type of occupation and speciality of occupational safety and health managers may affects hazards information delivery.
Objectives: The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationships among hospital safety climate, patient safety climate, and safety outcomes among nurses. Methods: In the current cross-sectional study, the occupational safety climate, patient safety climate, and safety performance of nurses were measured using several questionnaires. Structural equation modeling was applied to test the relationships among occupational safety climate, patient safety climate, and safety performance. Results: A total of 211 nurses participated in this study. Over half of them were female (57.0%). The age of the participants tended to be between 20 years and 30 years old (55.5%), and slightly more than half had less than 5 years of work experience (51.5%). The maximum and minimum scores of occupational safety climate dimensions were found for reporting of errors and cumulative fatigue, respectively. Among the dimensions of patient safety climate, non-punitive response to errors had the highest mean score, and manager expectations and actions promoting patient safety had the lowest mean score. The correlation coefficient for the relationship between occupational safety climate and patient safety climate was 0.63 (p<0.05). Occupational safety climate and patient safety climate also showed significant correlations with safety performance. Conclusions: Close correlations were found among occupational safety climate, patient safety climate, and nurses' safety performance. Therefore, improving both the occupational and patient safety climate can improve nurses' safety performance, consequently decreasing occupational and patient-related adverse outcomes in healthcare units.
