  • Switching power supply are widely used in many industrial field. Power factor correction(PFC) has become an increasingly necessary feature in new power supply designs. The power factor correction circuit using boost converter used in input of power source is studied in this paper. In a boost power factor correction circuit there are two feedback control loops, which are a current feedback loop and a voltage feedback loop. In this paper, it is analyzed regulation performance of output voltage and compensator to improve of transient response that presented at continuous conduction mode(CCM) of boost PFC circuit. The validity of designed boost PFC circuit is confirmed by simulation and experimental results.

  • Studies were made on the regulation of chorismate mutase and prephenate dehydratase of a species of Intrasporangium, a phenylalanine producing Actinomycete isolated from soil. Two distinctly regulated species of chorismate mutase, designated CM I and CM IIwere resolved by DEAE Cellulose and DEAE Sephadex A 50 chromatography. The activity of CM II was inhibited by L-tyrosine, whereas that of CM I appeared to be unregulated. Single species of prephenate dehydyatase was also separated in the same purification steps. The activity of the enzyme was strongly feedback inhibited by L-phenylalanine, but by L-tyrosine or L-methionine it was rather slightly stimulated. Synthesis of chorismate mutase was not influenced by the presence of phenylalanine, tyrosine or tryptophan, whereas prephenate dehydratase was found to be subject to strong feedback repression by L-phenylalanine. The rate of repression was 94% at the concentration of 1mM L-phenylalanine but the repression was completely offset by the presence of 5mM tyrosine. The critical regulatory site of the phenylalanine terminal biopathway was, therefore, proved to be the second reaction which was catalyzed by the L-phenylalanine inhibitable and repressible prephenate dehydratase.

  • For a autonomous parking of unmanned car, this paper proposes a posture regulation algorithm of a car-like mobile robot, which is supported by a docking formation and a feedback linearization control law. Unlike the previous researches based on a path-planning and optimization algorithms, the autonomous car implemented the proposed autonomous parking algorithm can be parked without much computational burden and a high performance processor. Stability of the proposed docking formation and feedback linearization control law are analyzed and performance of the proposed algorithm is shown by implementing to the simulations with six scenarios and an actual car in the experiment place.

  • This paper extends the authors' prior work on the regulation of flexible space structures via partial feedback linearization (PFL) methods to articulated systems. Recursive relations introduced by Jain and Rodriguez are central to the efficient formulation of models via Poincare's form of Lagrange's equations. Such models provide for easy construction of feedback linearizing control laws. Adaptation is shown to be an effective way of reducing sensitivity to uncertain parameters. An application to a flexible platform with mobile remote manipulator system is highlighted.

  • This paper investigated the effect of right half plane zero on the transient response in the buck-boost DC-DC converter. And it is clarified that the damping ratio decreases gradually by increases of the feedback loop gain and the regulation system of the converter becomes unstable. From the result, we obtained the stability region about the duty ratio and the output current by evaluating the feedback loop gain.

  • A simple single-stage AC/DC forward converter with transformer magnetic energy feedback technique for power factor correction is proposed. The operational principle of the proposed converter is presented. The proposed converter gives the good power factor correction, low line current harmonic distortions, and tight output voltage regulation. The prototype shows high power factor with low line current harmonics.

  • The Personal Information Protection Commission has been promoting the adoption of co-regulation to replace/improve the existing self-regulation programs since 2022. While the Commission's co-regulation framework has received positive feedback for its contribution to address the regulatory issues, it has also faced criticism for being seen as "co-regulation in appearance only without any real differentiation from existing self-regulation." This study aims to examine the case of industry-specific co-regulation proposed by the Personal Information Protection Commission, with the objectives of 1) determining whether their approach can be categorized as a type of co-regulation with differentiation from the existing self-regulation programs, and 2) proposing improvements for successful regulation. The 'co-regulation' of the Commission can be classified as a form of co-regulation that differs with traditional self-regulation, as it involves government and private organizations collaborating to establish self regulatory codes reflecting industry-specific characteristics as well as provides interest groups with incentives to comply with the codes. The co-regulation framework is evaluated to some extent as successful, but there is still room for improvement in three major aspects. (1) When selecting the areas for co-regulation, a focus should be placed on areas where technological changes are rapid, and government regulations should be applied in areas where they are not. (2) It is necessary to enhance the expertise of regulatory agencies, and (3) ensuring the democratic nature of regulation, such as encouraging the participation of civil organizations, is necessary.

  • This paper presents a control method of Single-Inductor Dual-Output DC-DC Converter using Common mode feedback and differential feedback loops. To generate duty used for differential mode feedback loop, this paper propose relative sawtooth circuit using current divider circuit which makes ramp signal with variable dead-time. Two outputs of the Single-Inductor Dual-Output DC-DC Converter are specified for 2.8 V and 4.2 V with input voltage 2.5 V. The maximum conversion efficiency of designed SIDO DC-DC Converter is 95% at total output power of 539mW. Cross regulations of Boost1 and Boost2 are 3.57% and 4% each, when increasing twice times output current.

  • Since Michael Porter (1991) has proposed that environmental regulation can help a firm increase its competitiveness by encouraging it to engage in more innovative activities to meet the environmental regulation, a number of researchers have empirically investigated the "Porter Hypothesis." However, the empirical results still remain mixed. Combining the perspectives of the behavioral theory of the firm and firm heterogeneity, we argue that the levels of regulation stringency and time-pressure would differentially influence a firm's innovative behavior depending on the firm's aspiration level, performance feedback and technological capabilities. Using the U.S. Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency (CAFE) regulation context, we empirically demonstrate that lagging firms that do not meet the new regulation standard announced by the government tend to search for more distant knowledge and that the impact of the patents they file for decreases as the regulation becomes more stringent. In addition, we also find that as time-pressure increases, lagging firms stand to apply for more patents than do leading firms whereas the overall impact of the patents decreases. These results help us advance our understanding of the nuanced causal relationship between regulation and innovation and provide practical implications for policymakers.
