  • Software product line (SPL) engineering is a reuse paradigm that helps organizations increase productivity and improve product quality by developing product from reusable core assets. In SPL, product configuration is the process of selecting the desired features and feature attributes for a given product from a feature model. In order to develop a successful product, feature and feature attribute selection that can achieve the product goal is important. There can be thousands of features and feature attributes resulting in myriads of configurations and finding the best configuration efficiently is a hard task. This paper proposes a systematic process for feature-based product configuration. To support development of a product that satisfys all product goals(business goals and quality goals), a model showing how feature and feature attribute combinations are related to product goals is included and a method for deriving an optimal product configuration using the model is proposed.

  • Feature selection is a preprocessing technique commonly used on high dimensional data. Feature selection studies how to select a subset or list of attributes that are used to construct models describing data. Feature selection methods attempt to explore data's intrinsic properties by employing statistics or information theory. The recent developments have involved approaches like correlation method, dimensionality reduction and mutual information technique. This feature selection have become the focus of much research in areas of applications with massive and complex data sets. In this paper, we provide a feature selection method considering data characteristics and generalization capability. It provides a computational approach for feature selection based on fuzzy cluster analysis of its attribute values and its performance measures. And we apply it to the system for classifying computer virus and compared with heuristic method using the contrast concept. Experimental result shows the proposed approach can give a feature ranking, select the features, and improve the system performance.

  • The high-dimensionality and insufficiency of gene expression profiles and proteomic profiles makes feature selection become a critical step in efficiently building accurate models for cancer problems based on such data sets. In this paper, we use a method, called Discrete Function Learning algorithm, to find discriminatory feature vectors based on information theory. The target feature vectors contain all or most information (in terms of entropy) of the class attribute. Two data sets are selected to validate our approach, one leukemia subtype gene expression data set and one ovarian cancer proteomic data set. The experimental results show that the our method generalizes well when applied to these insufficient and high-dimensional data sets. Furthermore, the obtained classifiers are highly understandable and accurate.

  • Feature selection is the one of important issues in the field of machine learning and pattern recognition. It is the technique to find a subset from the source data and can give the best classification performance. Ie, it is the technique to extract the subset closely related to the purpose of the classification. In this paper, we experimented to select the best feature subset for improving classification accuracy when classify success and failure factors in software reuse. And we compared with existing studies. As a result, we found that a feature subset was selected in this study showed the better classification accuracy.

  • This paper presents a method for classifier selection that uses distribution information of the training samples in a small region surrounding a sample. The conventional DCS-LA(Dynamic Classifier Selection - Local Accuracy) selects a classifier dynamically by comparing the local accuracy of each classifier at the test time, which inevitably requires long classification time. On the other hand, in the proposed approach, the best classifier in a local region is stored in the FSA(Feature Space Attribute) table during the training time, and the test is done by just referring to the table. Therefore, this approach enables fast classification because classification is not needed during test. Two feature space attributes are used entropy and density of k training samples around each sample. Each sample in the feature space is mapped into a point in the attribute space made by two attributes. The attribute space is divided into regular rectangular cells in which the local accuracy of each classifier is appended. The cells with associated local accuracy comprise the FSA table. During test, when a test sample is applied, the cell to which the test sample belongs is determined first by calculating the two attributes, and then, the most accurate classifier is chosen from the FSA table. To show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, it is compared with the conventional DCS -LA using the Elena database. The experiments show that the accuracy of the proposed algorithm is almost same as DCS-LA, but the classification time is about four times faster than that.

  • This study consists of three steps of data modeling procedures. The first step is to identify possible items for the data model based on literature review and expert interviews. The second step is to design delineate possible sub-themes, feature classes, feature types, attributes, attribute domains, and their relationships. These are presented in various UML class diagrams, and each feature type is clearly defined and modeled. The data model also shows geometry objects and their topological relationships in UML diagrams. Finally, a standardized data model has been provided to avoid possible conflicts in the field of geographic and Facility Area, and thus this study and the data model will eventually assist in alleviating efforts to build standardized geographic information databases for Facility Area.

  • Human apparent age estimation has become a popular research topic and attracted great attention in recent years due to its wide applications, such as personal security and law enforcement. To achieve the goal of age estimation, a large number of methods have been pro-posed, where the models derived through the cumulative attribute coding achieve promised performance by preserving the neighbor-similarity of ages. However, these methods afore-mentioned ignore the geometric structure of extracted facial features. Indeed, the geometric structure of data greatly affects the accuracy of prediction. To this end, we propose an age estimation algorithm through joint feature selection and manifold learning paradigms, so-called Feature-selected and Geometry-preserved Least Square Regression (FGLSR). Based on this, our proposed method, compared with the others, not only preserves the geometry structures within facial representations, but also selects the discriminative features. Moreover, a deep learning extension based FGLSR is proposed later, namely Feature selected and Geometry preserved Neural Network (FGNN). Finally, related experiments are conducted on Morph2 and FG-Net datasets for FGLSR and on Morph2 datasets for FGNN. Experimental results testify our method achieve the best performances.

  • The darknet is frequently referred to as the hub of illicit online activity. In order to keep track of real-time applications and activities taking place on Darknet, traffic on that network must be analysed. It is without a doubt important to recognise network traffic tied to an unused Internet address in order to spot and investigate malicious online activity. Any observed network traffic is the result of mis-configuration from faked source addresses and another methods that monitor the unused space address because there are no genuine devices or hosts in an unused address block. Digital systems can now detect and identify darknet activity on their own thanks to recent advances in artificial intelligence. In this paper, offer a generalised method for deep learning-based detection and classification of darknet traffic. Furthermore, analyse a cutting-edge complicated dataset that contains a lot of information about darknet traffic. Next, examine various feature selection strategies to choose a best attribute for detecting and classifying darknet traffic. For the purpose of identifying threats using network properties acquired from darknet traffic, devised a hybrid deep learning (DL) approach that combines Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) and Bidirectional LSTM (BiLSTM). This probing technique can tell malicious traffic from legitimate traffic. The results show that the suggested strategy works better than the existing ways by producing the highest level of accuracy for categorising darknet traffic using the Black widow optimization algorithm as a feature selection approach and RNN-BiLSTM as a recognition model.
