  • This paper presents a robust method to combine a collection of images with small fields of view to obtain an image with a large field of view. In the previous works, there are two main areas which one is a cross correlation-based method and the other is a feature-based method. The former is based on motion estimation from video sequences. so there are a problem on rotating a camera about optical axis. In the latter method, it is difficult to match correspondence feature points correctly.'re find correct correspondences, we proposed the geometrical feature model and correspondence filters and the Gaussian distribution weight function to blend the images smoothly. The experiments show that our method is robust and effective.

  • Large-scale retrieval algorithm is problem for visual analyses applications, along its research track. In this paper, we propose a high-efficiency region division-based image retrieve approaches, which fuse low-level local color histogram feature and texture feature. A novel image region division is proposed to roughly mimic the location distribution of image color and deal with the color histogram failing to describe spatial information. Furthermore, for optimizing our region division retrieval method, an image descriptor combining local color histogram and Gabor texture features with reduced feature dimensions are developed. Moreover, we propose an extended Canberra distance method for images similarity measure to increase the fault-tolerant ability of the whole large-scale image retrieval. Extensive experimental results on several benchmark image retrieval databases validate the superiority of the proposed approaches over many recently proposed color-histogram-based and texture-feature-based algorithms.

  • This paper is a study on Korean word recognition and suggest the method that stabilizes the state-transition in the HMM by applying the `inertia' to the feature vector sequences. In order to reduce the quantized distortion considering probability distribution of input vectors, we used SOFM, an unsupervised learning method, as a vector quantizer, By applying inertia to the feature vector sequences, the overlapping of probability distributions for the response path of each word on the self organizing feature map can be reduced and the state-transition in the Hmm can be Stabilized. In order to evaluate the performance of the method, we carried out experiments for 50 DDD area names. The results showed that applying inertia to the feature vector sequence improved the recognition rate by 7.4% and can make more HMMs available without reducing the recognition rate for the SOFM having the fixed number of neuron.

  • This paper presents the feature extraction of fault currents related to the multi-shot reclosing scheme in the power distribution system. In order to get the fault current waveform, we have measured the fault currents by the fault recorders which have been installed at the secondary side of 154/22.9[kV] substation transformer. These waveforms are classified into temporary and permanent fault. For the classified waveforms, Fourier transform is used to extract the feature of the fault current waveforms. After the waveforms are analyzed by using Fourier transform, the magnitude spectrum and the relative variation of THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) are calculated. And then the relative variation of THD is great in the temporary faults, and is small in the permanent faults.

  • According to the fast growth of information on the Internet, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find and organize useful information. To reduce information overload, it needs to exploit automatic text classification for handling enormous documents. Support Vector Machine (SVM) is a model that is calculated as a weighted sum of kernel function outputs. This paper describes a document classifier for web documents in the fields of Information Technology and uses SVM to learn a model, which is constructed from the training sets and its representative terms. The basic idea is to exploit the representative terms meaning distribution in coherent thematic texts of each category by simple statistics methods. Vector-space model is applied to represent documents in the categories by using feature selection scheme based on TFiDF. We apply a category factor which represents effects in category of any term to the feature selection. Experiments show the results of categorization and the correlation of vector length.

  • This paper is proposed to image retrieval system using color and shape feature. Color feature used to four maximum value feature among the maximum value extracted from local color distribution histogram. The preprocessing of shape feature consist of edge extraction and weight central point extraction and angular sampling. The sum of distance from weight central point to contour and variation and max/min used to shape feature. The similarity is estimated compare feature of query image with the feature of images in database and the candidate of image is retrieved in order of similarity. We evaluate the effectiveness of shape feature and color feature in experiment used to two hundred of the closed image. The Recall and the Precision is each 0.72 and 0.53 in the result of average experiment. So the proposed method is presented useful method.

  • This paper presents a novel algorithm for nighttime detection of the lane markers painted on a road at night. First of all, the proposed algorithm uses neighborhood average filtering, 8-directional Sobel operator and thresholding segmentation based on OTSU's to handle raw lane images taken from a digital CCD camera. Secondly, combining intensity map and gradient map, we analyze the distribution features of pixels on boundaries of lanes in the nighttime and construct 4 feature sets for these points, which are helpful to supply with sufficient data related to lane boundaries to detect lane markers much more robustly. Then, the searching method in multiple directions- horizontal, vertical and diagonal directions, is conducted to eliminate the noise points on lane boundaries. Adapted Hough transformation is utilized to obtain the feature parameters related to the lane edge. The proposed algorithm can not only significantly improve detection performance for the lane marker, but it requires less computational power. Finally, the algorithm is proved to be reliable and robust in lane detection in a nighttime scenario.

  • This paper presents an algorithm for depression diagnosis using the Neural Network with Weighted Fuzzy Membership functions (NEWFM) and heart rate variability (HRV). In the algorithm, 22 different features were initially extracted from the HRV signal by frequency domain, time domain, wavelet transformed, and Poincar$\acute{e}$ transformed feature extraction methods; of these 6 optimal features were selected by significance evaluation using Non-overlap Area Distribution Measurement (NADM) based on NEWFM. The proposed algorithm uses these 6 optimal features to diagnose depression with an accuracy of 95.83%.

  • In this paper, we derive the likelihood function for the independent random order statistic whose underlying lifetime distribution is a two parameter Weibull form. For this purpose we first discuss the order statistic which represent a characteristic feature of most life and fatigue tests that they give rise to ordered observations. And, we describe the properties of the underlying Weibull model. The derived likelihood function is essential for establishing the statistical life test plans in the case of Weibull distribution using a likelihood ratio method.
