In this paper, the process of predicting efficient durability performance for vibration durability test of automobile parts using vibration test load on automobile fuel tank is presented. First of all, the common standard load that can be applied to the initial development process of the automobile was used for the fuel tank and the vulnerability of the fuel tank to the vibration fatigue load was identified through frequency response analysis. In addition, the vulnerability of the fuel tank was re-enacted through vibration durability test results, and the scale factor was applied to the standard load. In order to predict the vibration durability performance required for detailed design, vibration fatigue analysis was performed on the developed vehicle with the frequency of vibration severity equivalent to the durability test, and the vulnerability and life span of the fuel tank were identified through the process of applying weights to these selected standard loads, thereby reducing the test time of the development vehicle.
This study is to investigate the behavior of fatigue crack growth with ATOS 55 steel which can be applied to the commercial car Dump Frame. It is to obtain the material coefficients after tensile and fatigue crack growth test with the variation of thickness or heat treatment. Also, that is proved the Pari's law by experiment. The summarized results are as follows ; 1) Increasing thickness, tensile and yield strength measured highly regardless to heat treatment and measured lowly as variation of heat treatment temperature. 2) Specimen of thickness 8.0㎜ measured the faster of crack growth rate than another thickness according to the results of experiment. It was the different of stress conditions in crack tip. 3) It was found that the experimental constant m was range of 2∼5 to the relationship between fatigue crack growth rate and stress intensity factor range. Also, it was to prove the Paris's law by the experiment.

Crew fatigue has been recognized as a major cause of maritime accidents. Systematic study on crew fatigue has a direct impact on the human factor, but the various measures being taken to prevent human error account for most of the causes of marine accidents situation are still insufficient. In this study, 128 people who have a variety of career and job types boarded the T/S Hanbada were analyzed the changes of fatigue during the 87-days a Maritime Silk Road Sailing Expedition. Crew fatigue was measured by period of time onboard classified as mental, physiological and physical changes through survey responses and individual interviews of nurses. Also, it was identified the fatigue factor through quantitative statistical analysis. As a result of repeated measures analysis of variance for the changes of fatigue in position and gender criteria in accordance with boarded period, the position-specific analysis was that Professor Rating group has appeared to feel more mental and physical fatigue than the student population. Also, the results of fatigability about the sex-specific analysis have been found that women feel more physical fatigue than men.
Effects of tensile and compression residual stresses in the welded SS41 and A17075-76 on fatigue crack propagation behavior are investigated when a crack propagates from residual stresses region. We propose the fatigue crack growth equation on tensile and compression residual stresses in welded metal. The results obtained in this experimental study are summarized as follows . 1 ) A fatigue crack growth equation which applied fatigue fracture behavior of the welded metal is proposed. (equation omitted) where, $\alpha$, $\beta$, ${\gamma}$ and $\delta$ are constants, and R$_{eff}$ is effective stress ratio [R$_{eff}$=(Kmin+Kres)/(Kmax+Kres)], Kcf is critical fatigue stress intensity factor. The constants are obtained from nonlinear least square method. The relation between crack length and number of cycles obtained by integrating the fatigue crack growth rate equation is in agreement with the experimental data. 2) The experimental results confirmed that the cause of crack extension and retardation by residual stresses has relation to the phenomenon of crack closure. 3) The relaxing trend of residual stresses by the crack propagation was greater In case of compressive residual stress than that of tensile residual stress in the welded metal.tal.
The rotated bending fatigue test was conducted in air md in 3.5% NaCl salt solution to investigate the fatigue fracture behaviour of raw material and F.E.M dual phase steel made from raw material(SS41) by a suitable heat treatment. This study has compared the initial microcrack creation of material by tensile test with that by fatigue test. And the rotated bending test of cantilever type under the condition of 3.5% NaCl salt solution and air has investigated the corrosion fatigue fracture behaviour with the variation of stress concentration factor determined by each of notch shapes. The initial microcrack have been developed in fragile grainboundary with general corrosion occurring in raw material : in the pits built up by corrosion in F.E.M. dual phase steel because pits bring out stress concentration. It is small that the degree of decrease in corrosion fatigue life for F.E.M. dual phase steel compared with raw material because the notch sensitivity of F.E.M. dual phase steel is lower than raw material in reason of characteristics with two-phase construction.
In this study, static and fatigue tests on the self-piercing riveted (SPR) joint were conducted using cross-shaped specimens with aluminum alloy (Al-5052) sheets. Mixed mode loading was achieved by changing the loading angles of 0, 45, and 90 degrees using a special fixture to evaluate the static and fatigue strengths of the SPR joints under mixed mode loading conditions. Simulations of the specimens at three loading angles were carried out using the finite element code ABAQUS. The fatigue specimens failed in an interfacial mode where a crack initiated at the upper sheet and propagated along the longitudinal direction and finally fractured Maximum principal stress, von-Mises effective stress failed to correlate the fatigue lifetimes at three loading angles. However, the equivalent stress intensity factor was found to be appropriate to correlate the fatigue lifetimes at three loading angles.
Charles Lindbergh has experienced the uncontrolled situation of the aircraft while he was asleep with open eyes during his Atlantic crossing flight around 20 hours after departure from the New York in 1927 because of the fatigue. According to the NTSB(National Transportation Safety Board) reports, about 40 incidents are related fatigue in each year. The sleep loss is the most wanted item for the NTSB and may cause the similar effect as the alcohol does. The fatigue may affect the management of the threats and errors especially during take-off and landing. In this study, threats and errors of major accidents that NTSB analysed fatigue as a causal factor will be identified in order to understand the seriousness of fatigue.

The purpose of this article is to examine the relationship between unsafe behavior, human factor and human error. For the object, several correlation analyses for those three elements were implemented. Several hypotheses for the relationship between them was suggested. The suggested hypotheses were verified by a comprehensive survey received from 132 safety manager of manufacturing industry. The conclusions were proven from the hypotheses verificaiton as belows; 1) The dependent relation items between unsafe behavior and human factor are dress protection tool, machine(equipment) and working rule have a dependent relation. 2) The dependent relation items between human factor and human error are uncommunication, control, slaps, fatigue, education, system, unmonitoring, failure. 3) The dependent relation items between human error and unsfafe behavior are decline and product/working method, failure and uncommunication have a dependent relation.
Fatigue life estimation by the theoretical stress concentration factors are, in general, considerably different from test results. And in calculating stress concentration factor, it is very difficult to consider actual geometry and material property which are the notch shapes, imperfections or defects of materials such as porosities inclusions and casting defects, etc. Therefore, the paper deals with the experimental method to find out the more exact stress concentration factors by measuring the strain distributions on each specimen by 3D-ESPI(Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry) System. Then the fatigue lives are compared between theoretical calculations using stress concentration factors determined by 3D-ESPI system and fatigue test results

The impact factor of bridges is analyzed based on experimental data to examine the characteristics of the dynamic responses of bridges. The experimental impact factors are compared with the impact factor of Korean Highway Design Specification and Japan T-load in terms of the span length. According to the superstructural types of bridges, the variation of the impact factor is analyzed. When vehicles are passing on a bridge, the dynamic effect acts on the bridge impact factor more than at the time of design because of the velocity of vehicles, the surface roughness reduction due to the deterioration of the bridge deck pavement, and the disconnection of the bridge entrance and the expansion joint. Because the actual value is greater than the expected value at the time of design, the dynamic response of the bridge accelerates the deterioration of the bridge due to the accumulation of fatigue, and the bridge's life-time is shortened and can have an influence on the serviceability and safety of the bridge.
