The differences in Cognition, Purchasing Experience and Attitudes towards Attributes of SPA Brands between Appearance Interest Groups (외모관심에 따른 SPA브랜드 인지, 구매경험 및 속성에 대한 태도 차이 분석)

  • This study explored the degree of cognition, purchasing experience and attitudes towards SPA brand attributes. This study examined the differences in variables and demographic characteristics against appearance interest groups. A questionnaire survey collected data from November $1^{st}$ and $15^{th}$ 2012. The convenience sample was drawn from females between the ages of 20 and 39 who lived in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions of South Korea. A total of 255 responses were complete and usable questionnaires. Data were tested through factor analysis, t-test, and ${\chi}^2$ test using SPSS 21.0. The results show that there were significant group differences in the cognition and purchasing experience of SPA brands and the attitudes towards SPA brand attributes. The high appearance interest group was more aware of SPA brands and evaluated SPA brand attributes more positively and bought more SPA brand products than the low appearance interest group. The high appearance interest group showed that domestic brands were excellent in low price among brand attributes but foreign brands were relatively excellent in various design and store display. There was a significant difference in educational level between appearance interest groups; however, there were no significant differences in age, marital status, and income level group. This study contributes to basic information for the SPA brand buying behavior research field and apparel industry marketing strategy by analyzing the relationship among appearance interest, cognition, SPA brand purchasing experience and SPA brand attribute attitudes.

The PPL Communication Effects of Fashion Brands in the Korean Movie - Focus on Setting Types and Exposure Times - (국내 영화 속 패션 제품의 PPL 커뮤니케이션 효과 - 배치 유형과 노출 시간을 중심으로 -)

  • This study measured the communication effect on the setting types and the exposure times to perform the effective PPL strategies. By the setting types(on-set and creative) and exposure times(short and long), 308 female older than 20 were divided into 4 experimental groups. Each groups were exposed to the edited movies and required to answer the questionaire. The data were analysed by SPSS 12.0 using Chi-Square, One-Way ANOVA and Duncan test. The results are as follows. First, in cognitive dimension, the on-set type and long exposure group showed the higher recognition and recall. Second, in emotional dimension, the signigicant difference was found in one brand(Kappa) of two which were used in the experiment. In this case, the on-set type and long exposure group showed the positive attitude toward the brand. Third, in behavioral dimension, there were no difference among the groups. The implications based on this results are as follows. First, when implementing of PPL the fashion brands in movies, the on-set type and long exposure would be the most effective method. Second, implementing IMC(Integrated Marketing Communication) linked to the PPL strategy can be more effective. In contrast to the other product categories, it is hard to recognize the brand of fashion goods if the logo or the brand name is not exposed directly. Therefore Combining other communication strategies such as press release simultaneously will birng the more effective result of PPL in the movie.

  • This study intended to investigate the benefits sought in 2(i s female formal wear and the clothing behaviors of 20's working women segmented by the benefits of female apparel and to provide marketing strategy on the segmented market. The subject of this study were 605 working women in their 20's living in seoul, and survey based on references and formal studies was used. The results of data analysis are as follows: 1. The factor structures of the benefit sought in clothing products were classified into symbolismㆍaesthetics, and practicality. 2. Consumer groups were segmented into four groups by the benefit factors sought in clothing products. 3. Product involvement, fashion involvement, information search and brand loyalty were proven significantly different among the segmented consumer groups. Demographic variables and purchasing traits such as subjective social class, average monthly expenditure on clothing, and usage of fashion credit card or credit cards were proven to significantly different among the segmented consumer groups.

Images Positioning of Women's Formal Wear Brands - Tuning in the three department stores in Daejon -

  • The purpose at this study was to analyze and to position the clothing images at women's formal wear brands carried by at least two department stores in Daejon, for providing data for a basic marketing strategy for fashion manufacturers and distributors. The results tram the study were as tallows; The brand that showed the highest classic image was 'BCBG'(83.6%), the brand that showed the highest feminine image was 'Obzee' (80.2%), the brand that showed the highest character image was 'Doho' (84.1%), and the brand that showed the highest mannish image was 'F.Station' (64.1%). On the brands image positioning map, brands, such as 'Deco', 'Mine', 'Time', and 'Anne Klein', lying on or near the point of intersection (where the vertical and horizontal axes meet) showed 4 types. They were 'smart & chic cluster', 'charming & luxury cluster', 'character elegance cluster', and 'sportive elegance cluster' that showed compound images. These clusters would be differentiated tram young casual lines by emphasizing the brands' shape and cut, higher quality fabrics and materials, and elegant and graceful colors. Analysis of target ages and tweed jacket prices for brands carried by at least two department stores showed that the target was between 23 and 50, and that the prices range from 198,000 won to 460,000 won.

The Relationship between Consumers' Life Style and Purchasing Frequency among the Purchasing Behaviors in Internet Shopping Mall (소비자의 라이프스타일과 인터넷 쇼핑몰에서의 상품별 구매횟수 관게 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to understand the relationship between life style that a consumer is pursuing and purchasing frequency among the purchasing behaviors in internet shopping mall. As a result, the factors of life style with respect to purchasing attitude of the consumer were categorized into 'price advising type', 'price-quality identifying recognition type', 'brand-oriented type', 'shopping time-effort non-investment type', and 'price-quality comparing type'. It showed that there was a close relationship between the life style and the purchasing frequency in internet shopping mall and that there was a significant influence between the life style and the purchasing frequency. The result of this study indicated that the relationship between the life style and purchasing frequency in internet shopping mall was actualized by measuring the purchasing inclination of the consumer under various situations of psychologically descriptive characteristics and desire and simulation. Therefore, this fact suggests that it is very important to measure the accurate purchasing attitude of its consumer when setting up the marketing strategy of internet shopping mall.

Consumer's Perceived Underwear Brand Identity (BI) Color and Brand Equity (소비자가 지각한 속옷상표의 BI컬러와 상표자산)

  • This study examined the effects of underwear brand identity color on brand equity. A self-administered questionnaire mainly consisted of BI color, brand image, and brand equity for underwear. Five underwear brands (Calvin Klein, Yes, Solb, Venus, and Body Guard) were selected based on the frequency they were purchased in pilot study. To collect data, respondents were asked to choose a brand which they were most familiar with, and to assess BI color, brand image, and brand equity including cognitive value, emotional value and purchase intention. A total of 228 usable questionnaires were obtained from consumers aged 19 to 46. BI colors were classified into four color groups: Achromatic (white, black, gray), Vivid (red, blue, yellow), Pink, and Beige. Additionally, underwear brand images consisted of four factors: Sophisticated, Classic, Casual, and Elegant images. Findings showed significant differences in the four factors of brand image and cognitive brand value between the BI color groups. Also, the factor of cognitive value was higher for achromatic or beige brand color groups, than for vivid or pink color groups. Also, brand image factors had positive effects on cognitive or emotional brand value. Especially, the factor of emotional value was more likely to increase purchase intentions than cognitive value in the BI color groups. The implications for managerial decision marking in fashion marketing strategy were also discussed.

Characteristics of Clothing Purchase Behavior in Korean Consumers of Living in America - Focusing on the Aspect of Size -

  • The purpose of this research is to suggest data available for being conducive to establishing a marketing strategy such as size of domestic clothing in global brand and producing a product of increasing consumers' satisfaction with the fit based on this research. A total of 177 questionnaires obtained from South Koreans in their 20s~50s who dwell in the state of North Carolina in America. The results follow; first, what there is significant difference in clothing purchase behavior of Koreans living according to income, duration of residence. Second, the reason for preferring Korean clothing according to educational level was the highest in the ratio of the response as saying of being 'size' with a decrease in the item of 'design'. This was because the higher in age and educational level leads to the more rise in importance of size according to a change in body type. Third, the outcome of evaluation on the fit by body part in American clothing was the largest in the response as saying of being 'similar' in the items of chest, waist, neck, arm, wrist circumference and crotch length.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of T-shirts product type and apparel benefit on consumer preference and purchasing intention. Data for the study were obtained by $3\times2$ mixed factorial design. The subjects were two hundred and thirty college male and female students. The data were analysed by factor analysis, cluster analysis, and ANOVA by using the SPSS program. The results of this study indicated that benefit did not have effects on consumers purchasing intention but significant influences on consumer preference for brand-parody products. For brand-copy products, benefit influenced the purchasing intention, and did not influence the consumer preference. This study suggested that new fashion trends, in association with consumer's benefit, have effects on consumer's purchasing behavior. The result of this study is likely to be useful in planning marketing strategy related to product type and new fashion trends.

Effects of Consumer Experience Related to Experience Providers of Apparel Companies on Brand Loyalty (의류기업의 경험제공수단에 따른 소비자의 브랜드 경험유형이 브랜드 충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was aimed at finding the effects of consumer experience related to experience providers of apparel companies on brand loyalty. The participants of this study included experienced SPA fashion brand shopping female consumers who are between the ages of 20 to 50 residing in Seoul. A total of 285 questionnaires were used for the survey of this study. Methods of data analysis included. The result of this study revealed the 9 factors of experience providers in apparel companies: co-branding, advertising, visual/verbal identity & signage, design & quality, physical environment, people, emotional environment, websites, and sales promotion. The 5 factors of consumer experiences were behavioral experience, relational experience, affective experience, intellectual experience, and sensory experience. The experience providers of the apparel company had a significant impact on consumer experience of SPA, such as behavioral experience, sensory experience, affective experience, intellectual experience and relational experience. Of all, consumer experience of SPA as well as behavioral, sensory and affective experiences had a positive impact on brand loyalty. In conclusion, experience providers, at the disposal of the apparel company, are tactical implementation components for creating consumer experience. Therefore, the marketing strategy of apparel companies should be focused on eliciting affirmative responses from consumers.

A Study on the Locution of TV Home Shopping Show Bests for Apparel Products - With Focus on Selling Points and Vocabulary - (TV 홈쇼핑 의류 상품 쇼핑 호스트의 방송 언어 분석 - 구매 설득 소구점과 사용 어휘를 중심으로 -)

  • This study analyzes the locution of television home shopping show hosts for apparel products with a focus on the selling points and vocabulary use. A qualitative content analysis was conducted for 15 recorded home shopping shows selling women's overcoats and jackets. The results are as follows. First, 8 dimensions of selling points were revealed: Promotions, brand popularities, the experiences of shopping hosts, fashion trend information, conformity motivation and suggestion, intangible attributes, tangible attributes, and compared/leading differences. The most frequent selling point was tangible attributes. Following this were, promotions, conformity motivation and suggestion, compared/leading differences, intangible attributes, brand popularity, the experiences of the shopping hosts, and fashion trend information in order. The selling points were almost proper to decrease the perceived risks of home shopping consumers. Second, shopping hosts frequently used the clothing terms without any expatiations and used loan words (foreign language terms) instead of the direct Korean translations. In the conclusion, the development of a marketing strategy focusing on shopping host management is suggested.
