This study examined the structural relationship between life stress perceived by university students and their gambling behaviors through their self-control and family support. For this, it conducted the questionnaire on life stress, self-control, family support and gambling behavior with 387 university students attending universities in Gwangju city and analyzed the data collected. The results of the analysis were described below. As a result of analyzing the direct effects of life stress on gambling behavior, self-control and family support, it was found that the life stress had the positive effect on gambling behavior and it meant that when the university students couldn't cope with the life stress effectively and felt frustrated, they were likely to be involved in gambling behavior to escape from their helplessness. In addition, as a result of analyzing the direct effects of life stress on self-control and family support, it was found that life stress had negative effect on self-control and family support. The more experiences of life stress they had, the lower their self-control was. As their life stress was higher, they didn't make supportive relationship network with family members. As a result of mediating effects, it was shown that self-control and family support played the partially negative roles in the relationship between life stress and gambling behavior and it suggested that as the life stress was perceived less, self-control was performed better and as family support was higher, gambling behavior was effectively reduced. These results of the research suggested that life stress could be handled actively through self-control and family support and development and distribution of the program to cope with life stress could minimize the gambling behaviors. Also the limitations of this study and necessity of further studies were discussed.

The subjects were married women from the five year data of the Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Family (KLoWF). Data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, structural equational models, and Sobel test with SPSS software ver. 23.0, and Amos software ver. 23.0. The findings are as follows. First, gender role attitude had a direct effect on life stress, but work family balance had no significant effect on life stress. The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of family life stress and family values on marital stability among middle-aged couples. The subjects included a total of 302 men and women aged 45-64 who had been married for more than 20 years and were living in Seoul. The collected data were statistically analyzed with the SPSS 21.0 Package. First, Cronbach's alpha was calculated to measure the reliability of the scale that assessed the variables of the research model. Then, mean and standard deviation were calculated to determine the degrees of family life stress, family values, and marital stability among the subjects. Finally, a hierarchical multiple regression analysis was performed to identify factors that affected the subjects' marital stability. The results revealed that the level of family life stress in middle-aged married men and women was slightly higher than the mean value. Of all the sub-scales of family life stress, the subjects were found to experience the most stress from factors related to financial pressure, followed by family relationships, a sense of loss within a family, and work-family compatibility. Therefore, financial problems were one of the critical stressors for middle-aged married couples. Also, for this demographic, the levels of family values and marital stability were higher than the medians. The factors affecting marital stability in middle-aged couples were identified to be family relationship stress, financial stress, subjective economic status, family values, stress related to work-familycompatibility,religion,andage.Thedegreeofmaritalstabilitywashigherinmiddle-agedcouplesa stheirstresslevelsfromfamilyrelationshipsandfinancialproblemswerelower. Moreover, thehigherthes ubjectiveeconomicstatusandthemoretraditionalthefamilyvalues, thehigherthedegreeofmaritalstabili ty.Finally,marriedcoupleswhowerereligioushadalowerlevelofstressfromwork-family compatibility, and the younger the couples, the higher the degree of marital stability.
The purpose of this study is to examine the stress level and factors percepted by the married women during family life, and to identify the related variables influencing on stress level. For this purpose, questionnaires were distributed to the 650 married women who have been living in seoul. Among them 463 data were selected. For data analysis, the statistical method such as the factor analysis frequency distribution percentile , t-test, ANOVA, Duncan's Multiple Range Test and Stepwise Regression Analysis were used. the major findings were summarized as follows; 1) The general tendancy of the stress level percepted by the married women during family life was relatively low. 2) The household background variables(age, level of education, income, type of family, number of children, status of employment ) have turned out to be significant on the stress level of married women except family type. 3) All the social-psychological variables(socio-economic status, communication interaction, resources perception, psychological satisfaction) showed significant differences according to the stress level percepted by the married women during family life. 4) The level of work identity was the important factor on the stress level percepted by the married women during family life. 5) In Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis, the married women's stress level during family life was greatly influenced by variables such as the resource perception and the psychological satisfaction.

This study was also intended to examine the relations between mid-life family stress and family coping strategies. The subjects of this study were 150 married couples(300 persons) who were 40 to 59 years old in Seoul. McCubbin, Wilson & Patterson (1979)'s "Family Inventory of Life Events and Changes" and McCubbin, Larsen & Olson (1982)'s "Family Coping Strategies" were used to gather data for the study. For the statistical analysis of data, factor analysis, T-test, Duncan's multiple Range Test, Pearson's r and cronbach's α for reliability were performed. The major results of this study were summarized as follows; 1. There were significant differences according to conjugal sex and social class in family stress; Wives reported more family stress than husbands. And the lower social class of the family, the more family stress were found. 2. There were some significant differences according to conjugal sex and social class in family coping strategies; Wives reported more family coping strategies than husbands in "freind and neighbor's support", "religious support". Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the relationship between stress and quality of life of family caregivers of patients with lung cancer. Methods: From April 18 to May 4, 2009, data were collected using self-report questionnaires with 95 family caregivers of lung cancer patients in G cancer center. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and pearson's correlation coefficient with SPSS 14.0. Results: The mean score of the stress level was 27.5 (SD=14.77). The mean score of the QOL was 73.0 (SD=17.86). The stress level of family caregiver showed significant difference according to gender (psychological stress p=.011, total level of stress p=.042) and availableness of second caregiver (physical stress p=.023, psychological stress p=.035, total level of stress p=.001). The QOL of family caregivers showed significant difference according to daily caring (positive adaptation p=.045) and financial burden on treatment expense (positive adaptation p=.004, total quality of life p=.043). The negative correlation was found between stress and QOL of family caregivers (r=-.67, p=.032). Conclusion: These results indicate a need to develop nursing intervention programs for family caregivers to reduce stress and improve QOL.
