Purpose : The purpose of this study was to identify the degree of occupational therapist's sleep quality and examine the correlation between sleep quality and job stress. We also investigated the effects of the occupational therapist's sleep quality on job stress. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the importance of sleep quality and find a way to reduce job stress in occupational therapists. Methods : We conducted a study from November 7 to from December 23, 2022. To assess sleep quality and job stress, sleep quality of scale and Korean occupational stress scale-SF (KOSS-SF) were used. The general characteristics, sleep quality, job stress were examined using a frequency analysis and presented with descriptive statistics. The pearson correlation coefficient was used to determine, whether there was a correlation between sleep quality and job stress. To find what factors have and effect on job stress, we conducted a multiple regression analysis. A significance level of α=.05 was used to verify statistical significance. Results : First, average sleep quality score was 2.10±.19. Second, a significant correlation was found between sleep quality and job stress (p<.01). And As a result of the relationship between sleep quality sub-factors and job stress, day time dysfunction (r=.23, p<.01), restoration (r=.18, p<.05), difficulty of falling asleep (r=.38, p<.01). difficulty of awakening (r=.36, p<.01), satisfaction (r=.33, p<.01) and difficulty of maintaining sleep (r=.24, p<.05) showed a statistically significant relationship with job stress. Third, the sub-factors of sleep quality influencing job stress were difficulty of falling asleep (β =.26, p<.01), difficulty of awakening (β=.23, p<.01) and satisfaction (β=.21, p<.01). Conclusion : The results of this study, demonstrated the importance of sleep quality in affecting job stress. Therefore, follow-up studies are, necessary to develop interventions to improve, occupational therapist's sleep quality in the future.

We analyzed risk factors of coastal gillnet fishers during fishing process and considered work safety measures to reduce safety accidents during fishing using a UWB (ultra wideband) based positioning system. The static position accuracy of the UWB based positioning system was 45 cm. When entering a port, there is a risk of falling overboard. When casting a net, there was a risk of falling overboard due to being hit by fishing gear or guards, or getting caught in a buoy line or sinker line. When hauling a net, there is a risk of getting caught between fishing gear and net hauler, and the risk of musculoskeletal disorders due to repetitive work over a long period of time. Most safety accidents during work on fishing boats are blamed on human errors of the fisher and skipper, but safety accidents occur due to a mixture of mechanical and equipment factors, work and environmental factors, and management factors in addition to human errors. Therefore, the 4E were presented as countermeasures against the 4M, which are causes of safety accidents, and the proposed measures were used to identify risk factors for operation process, comply with work safety rules, and ensure the wearing of personal protective equipments. We need to reduce safety accidents during work by making it part of our daily routine. These research results can be used in the future for optimal placement of fishing gear and fishing nets in other coastal industries where safety accidents occur frequently.

In the event of an earthquake, non-structural components require seismic performance to ensure evacuation routes and to protect lives from falling non-structural components. Accordingly, the seismic design code proposes horizontal force for the design and evaluation of non-structural components. Ground motion observed on each floor is affected by a building's eigen vibration mode. Therefore, the earthquake damage of non-structural components is determined by the characteristics of the non-structural component system and the vibration characteristics of the building. Floor response spectra in the seismic design code are estimated through time history analysis using seismic waves. However, it is difficult to use floor response spectra as a design criterion because of user-specific uncertainties of time history analysis. In addition, considering the response characteristics of high-rise buildings to long-period ground motions, the safety factor of the proposed horizontal force may be low. Therefore, this study carried out the horizontal force review proposed in the seismic design code through dynamic analysis and evaluated the floor response of seismic waves considering buildings and predominant periods of seismic waves.
Objective: There are no guidelines for choosing appropriate gait assistive devices. The aim of this study was to evaluate gait assistive devices in patients with Parkinson's disease. Method: We evaluated 15 individuals with Parkinson's disease who did or did not use one of two different devices including canes and two-wheeled walkers. Data were collected using the GAITRite system. Results: Participants in the group using canes and two-wheeled walkers had significantly increased double support time and decreased gait velocity, normalized gait velocity, and stride length compared with those who did not. Participants who used a two-wheeled walker had significantly decreased gait velocity, normalized gait velocity, and stride length compared with those who used a cane. Furthermore, participants who used a two-wheeled walker had significantly decreased coefficients of variation for step time, stride length, and swing time compared with those who used a cane. Conclusion: Our results indicated that the two-wheeled walker offered the most consistent advantages for decreasing the risk of falling.
In this paper, we propose an in-plane switching (IPS) mode for liquid crystal displays (LCDs) that, in principle, is free of retardation of the LC cell. Basically, the optical configuration of the LC cell consists of an A-plate and an LC layer for switching between the dark and bright states. We could achieve a fast response time compared with the conventional in-plane LC cell because the free retardation condition of the proposed LC cell enables us to reduce the cell gap even by quarter-wave retardation without any change of the optimized LC material in the transmissive mode. Experiments for verification of the proposed in-plane switching LC cells have shown a significant reduction of the rising time and falling time simultaneously due to the small cell gap. Furthermore, we also proposed an optical configuration for wide viewing property of the retardation free IPS LCD by applying the optical films. We proved the wide-view property of the retardation free IPS LCD by comparing its optical luminance with the calculated optical property of the conventional IPS LCD.

In this paper, we investigate the effect of asynchronous haptic and video feedback on the performance of teleoperation. To analyze the effect, a tele-manipulation experiment is specially designed, which operator moves square objects from one place to another place by using master/slave telerobotic system. Task completion time and total number of falling of the object are used for evaluating the performance. Subjective study was conducted with 10 subjects in 16 different combinations of video and haptic feedback while participants didn't have any prior information about the amount of each delay. Initially we assume that synchronized haptic and video feedback would give best performance. However as a result, we found that the accuracy was increased when haptic and video feedback was synchronized, and the completion time was decreased when one of the feedback (either haptic or video) was decreased. Another interesting fact that we found in this experiment is that it showed even better accuracy when haptic information arrives little bit earlier than video information, than the case when those are synchronized.
Excavators are construction machines used for digging soil, transporting soil, dismantling buildings and clearing the ground at construction sites. There are various attachments attached to the arm end of the excavator and used for various operations. There are the most common types of buckets attached for excavation and other types of attachments used for foresting, road cleaning, snow removal, and waste disposal. When multiple types of work are done at the same time, several attachments must be replaced and a device called a quick coupler is used to reduce replacement time. Although a quick coupler reduces the replacement time of the Attachment, it is necessary to attach safety devices to prevent unintentional detachment of attached attachments during the operation. To prevent the attachment from leaving or falling regardless of the operator's intention, support is installed in the hook of the bucket pin and controlled through a separate hydraulic cylinder to ensure safety. When attaching an attachment, it shall be attached without any action. This study is intended to verify the design validity of safety devices to prevent falls of attachments occurring at construction sites.
This paper is concerned with the real-time automatic tuning of the positive position feedback controller for smart structures by the genetic algorithms. The genetic algorithms haute proven its effectiveness in searching optimal design parameters without falling into local minimums thus rendering globally optimal solutions. The advantage of the positive position feedback controller is that if it is tuned properly it can enhance the damping value of a target mode without affecting other modes. In this paper, we develop for the first time a real-time algorithm for determining a tuning frequency of the PPF controller based on the genetic algorithms. To this end, the digital PPF control law is downloaded to the DSP chip and a main program, which runs the genetic algorithms in real time, updates the parameter of the controller in real time. Hence, any kind of control including the positive position feedback controller can be used in adaptive fashion in real time. Experimental results show that the real-time tuning of the positive position feedback controller can be achieved successfully. so that vibrations are suppressed satisfactorily.
This study aims to examine the modified $A^2/O$ process is useful to reduce the environmental pollution caused by nutrient in wastewater. Specific results are as follows: The removal rate was evaluated at each time period, ie., 18h, 8h, 6h, and 3h after the reaction started. The anoxic rate was more than 94-97% from 18h to 6h but was less than 50% before 6h. Thus, the test of nitrification was done using 6h as the optimal anoxic retention time and the aerobic retention time set at 24h. When the flow change was 1:1, the average ammonia concentration inputted was $30mg/{\ell}$. Returned top nitric acid solution and the concentration of ammonia solution falling into the anoxic reactor was about 50% of the initial concentration, and the flow change was 1:2, the concentration of ammonia falling into the anoxic reactor was about 62% of that of influxed ammonia. And the results of this study showed that the nitrogen removal rate can be improved by inputting untreated nitric acid and changing the flow of top nitrate solution using the modified $A^2/O$ method.
This study was a quasi-experimental study of non-equivalent control group pretest and posttest design. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Tai Chi exercise program on physical functions, psychological functions, and fall among the fall-prone elderly. The data were collected from September 19, 2001 to January 31, 2002. The study, conducted at two facilities located in Kwang-ju, was targeted to the ambulatory aged 60 years or older who had at least one of the key fall risk factors. Experimental group participated in Tai Chi exercise for 40 minutes per one time and three times a week for 12weeks at an auditorium. Fifty nine fall-prone elderly were assigned to 12-week Tai Chi exercise program (n=29) and control group (n=30). They underwent tests of lower muscle strength, time for chair stand, balance, flexibility, depression, falls efficacy, fear of falling, and numbers of fall at the baseline and at the 12th week. Numbers of fall and fall injuries were monitored for 16 weeks(12-weeks intervention plus 4-week follow-up periods) using fall calendar. Each participant was given a calendar to record the numbers of fall per day for a month. The calendars were collected at the last week of each month. 1. Tai Chi exercisers showed significant improvement in the strength of knee flexors, and ankle dorsiflexors and plantarflexors compared to the control group. The experimental group had improvement in the strength of knee extensors while the control group did not, with no statistical significance. 2. Tai Chi exercisers reported positive change in the average time of chair stand as compared to the control group. 3. Tai Chi exercisers had significant improvement in flexibility as compared to the control group. 4. There was no significant difference in the depression between the two groups, even though the Tai Chi exercisers maintained depression score in the same level while the others were increased. 5. Tai Chi exercisers showed significant improvements in the falls efficacy as compared to the control group. The falls efficacy was significantly improved among the experimental group while the opposite was identified among the control group. 6. The experimental group reported the significant reduction of the fear of fall, whereas control group reported the opposite. 7. Of the 59 subjects for 16weeks(12weeks intervention period and 4weeks follow up), 9 (31.0%) of the 29 in exercise group and 15 (50%) of the 30 in the control group fell (relative risk=0.62. 95% CI 0.32-1.19), even with no statistical difference. The results suggest that the Tai Chi exercise program can improve the strength of knee flexors, ankle dorsiflexors and plantarflexors, chair stand. flexibility, falls efficacy, and fear of falling for the fall-prone elderly.
