가상공간 시뮬레이션을 활용한 고령자 행동특성 기반 계단 낙상사고 평가 (Evaluation of staircase accidents using 3D virtual simulation based on behavioral characteristics of the elderly)

  • Due to the rapidly aging population, the death rate of elderly people by safety accidents has been increasing. In particular, precautions are needed for falls prevention because they either directly or indirectly cause death. In the case of elderly people, most of the fall accidents occur in dense residential areas, and particularly, the staircase poses a risk of falling. Therefore, a safety assessment should be performed from the design phase. However, in general, staircases are designed using existing stair data or only aims to satisfy the installation criteria. Laws and regulations only define minimum requirements for safety, so it is not possible to prevent fall accidents even if they satisfy the requirements. Therefore, this study proposes a simulation-based method for evaluating the safety of staircases. The behavioral characteristics of the elderly are implemented to an virtual user in a virtual space including staircases, and fall accidents are evaluated by the evaluation logic related to the behavioral characteristics. The result shows that the safety of staircases can be preevaluated and reflected on the design to reduce the possibility of fall accidents of the elderly.

건설공사 추락 중대재해 발생특성 분석 (The Characteristics of Fatal Accidents Relative to Fall at Construction Job Site)

  • 2002${\sim}$2006년까지 총 5년 동안 한국산업안전공단에 접수된 중대재해건수 총 2546건 중 추락사고로 인한 중대재해건수는 1444건으로 전체 재해발생률의 56.7%로 가장 높은 비중을 차지하고 있다. 본 연구는 2002${\sim}$2006년 한국산업안전공단의 중대재해 조사목록을 대상으로 추락중대재해의 발생형태별 재해율, 규모별, 공사종류별, 기인물별, 동업종경력별, 발생시점별 현황분석과 추락중대재해에 대한 직종-공사종류별, 직종-기인물별 현황을 교차분석 하였다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 건설 중대재해 발생형태 중 추락중대재해를 중심으로 발생인자별 현황을 분석하고, 인자별 교차분석하여 건설공사의 추락중대재해 발생특성을 도출함으로써 건설공사 시공현장에서 추락중대재해의 안전계획 수립 시 기초적 자료를 제공하고자 한다.

  • Although accidents in the domestic construction industry have been decreased gradually, deaths in the construction sites have been occupied 49.9 percent of the total industry and deaths from fall accident have been accounted for 59.7 percent of the construction industry. In order to prevent fall accident, Occupation Safety and Health Act(OSHA) was enacted for setting management standards and detailed regulations was designed by the Ministry of Employment and Labor. Although government has been pushed for companies and workers to comply the regulations, currently, many domestic construction sites have been violated. On the other hand, in safety-advanced countries such as the United States, Japan, and the EU, industrial accidents have been decreased due to continual application of adapted safety policies according to characteristic in each country. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze laws and polices of advanced countries and apply them to domestic construction sites in order to reduce fall accidents. Therefore, the objective of this study is to compare domestic laws related fall accident with advanced countries laws. In the future, the results of this study will be utilized as a reference to reinforce Occupation Safety and Health Act(OSHA).

노인 안전사고에 영향을 미치는 요인 조사연구 (A Study on Factors Mfecting Safety Accidents among Elderly People)

  • The nation is turning into aging society, and safety accidents among elderly people are on the rise. When death roll caused by safety accidents was investigated, senior citizens who died from safety accidents outnumbered the other age groups who died for the same reason. The most common cause of death was traffic accidents, followed by suicide and a hurt from a fall, and Korea rated first among OECD member nations in death roll by traffic accidents. Aging brings a lot of physical changes to elderly people, and they are often likely to be involved in accidents such as a hurt from a fall due to degenerated sensory organs like hearing and eyesight and deteriorated motor skills. Unsafe social facilities also have them face a lot of accidents, including fracture and death, and such accidents take place even at home that is usually considered safe, or are triggered by things of daily use. As a result of comparing every age group's death roll by safety accidents, the number of senior citizens who died from safety accidents was far higher than that of the other age groups who died for the same reason in every accident field. In aging society, a sharp increase in the elderly population and ensuing safety accidents are expected to pose a serious threat to national economy, and diverse efforts should be put into tacking this problem. For instance, safety education should be provided to people in general including senior citizens on a regular basis, and more safety facilities should be prepared. Besides, safety equipment should be developed.

건설현장 추락사고 예방을 위한 사례 연구 (Case Study for Preventing Construction Site Fall Accidents)

  • 최근 정부는 재해 절감을 위한 다양한 노력덕분에 산업과 건설업 전반에 걸쳐 재해 사고는 감소추세를 보이고 있다. 그러나 건설업에서의 추락재해는 감소하지 않고 오히려 증가하고 있다. 특히, 달비계에 의한 추락재해는 매년 발생빈도는 낮지만 발생 시 작업자의 사망과 직결한다는 측면에서 재해강도가 매우 크다고 할 수 있다. 국내 건설업에서의 달비계 작업환경은 매우 열악하다. 더욱이 소규모 건설현장에서의 달비계 작업자들은 안전에 대한 감독과 관리를 받을 수 있는 주체가 없다. 따라서 본 연구는 본 연구를 진행하면서 달비계 추락재해 예방을 위해 가장 근본적으로 개선되어야 할 문제점인 수직구명줄 미설치 및 미부착이다. 또한 로프 풀림, 로프 파단, 고정점불량 등의 다양한 재해발생 원인에 대한 규명을 통해 건설현장 가설공사의 재해예방을 위한 해결방안이 되었길 희망한다.

Development of Expertise-based Safety Performance Evaluation Model

  • Construction projects have become increasingly complex in recent years, resulting in substantial safety hazards and frequent fall accidents. In an attempt to prevent fall accidents, various safety management systems have been developed. These systems have mainly been evaluated qualitatively and subjectively by practitioners or supervisors, and there are few tools that can be used to quantitatively evaluate the performance of safety management systems. We propose an expertise-based safety performance evaluation model (EXSPEM), which integrates a fuzzy approach-based analytic hierarchy process and a regression approach. The proposed model uses S-shaped curves to represent the degree of contribution by subjective expertise and is verified by a genetic algorithm. To illustrate its practical application, EXSPEM was applied to evaluate the safety performance of a newly developed real-time mobile detector monitoring system. It is expected that this model will be a helpful tool for systematically evaluating the application of a robust safety control and management system in a complex construction environment.

병원 내 다양한 구역의 미끄럼 위험성 평가 연구 (The Evaluation for Slip Risk of Various Hospital's zones)

  • Floor slipperiness is a leading cause in slip and fall accidents which are a major source of occupational injuries in Korea. Researchers have estimated the slip and fall related accidents rank number one or two in number of the injured. The objectives of this study were to find the field contamination effect and improvement countermeasure. Slipping and falling are common accidents in large public facilities, especially facility which vulnerable adults generally use as like hospital. So, we measured the coefficient of friction of several floors on the floor in hospital, under dry and wet using BOT-3000. The results of the coefficient of friction measurements showed that floor type and surface conditions were all significant factors affecting the coefficient of friction. The most surprising finding of this study was that there were significant friction improvement when the floors were properly cleaned with cleaning equipments.

중소형 건설현장의 추락재해 영향요인 분석 연구 (A Study on the Influencing Factors of Falling Disaster in Small and Medium-sized Construction Sites)

  • 본 연구에서 회귀분석을 통한 중소형 건설 현장 추락재해에 대한 안전사고 위험요소를 추출하기 위해 첫째, 10년간의 중소형 건설 현장에서 발생한 추락재해에 대한 데이터를 수집하였으며 둘째, t-test를 통해 중소형 건설 현장과 대형 건설 현장 두 그룹 사이의 추락재해 발생 시 진료일수의 차이가 있다는 것을 증명하였다. 마지막으로 회귀분석을 실시하여 안전사고 위험 요소에 대한 회귀 모델을 도출하였다. 추락재해에 영향을 미치는 요소는 사고 시간, 사고 요일, 직업 분류 순으로 크게 작용하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 건설 현장 규모에 따른 정책 개선 및 통계분석을 위한 기초자료와 중소형 건설 현장 위험 정량화 연구의 기초자료로 활용될 것으로 사료된다.

추락재해의 효과적인 위험관리 방안 (Effective Disaster Risk Management Measures Fall)

  • The present study was motivated by the needs to make diversified scientific approaches toward influential factors like human, technical, organization, policy and environmental on the basis of the specialized information concerning the cause for industrial accidents in a measure to prevent the falling accident which has the biggest priority among the three major frequent industrial accidents. In this connection, diverse policies have been practiced in the meantime, with little effects in fact to reduce occurrence of industrial accidents, seemingly because such policies have been practiced on the direct dimension, instead of tries to nip in the bud of fundamental causes. This study was thus conducted with a view to determine the causes that have influence on falling accidents from the overall context and unearth the factors requiring management with priority. For this aim, "Fall from Height"(2003), a study by HSE, UK was applied to various conditions of korea as an experiment to search for fundamental causes for falling accidents. The major findings of this study might be summed up as exploring a main critical path that has influence upon falling accidents and suggesting effective ways to cut down through the critical path.

손상으로 인한 사망자의 지역별 차이에 대한 HGLM을 이용한 연구 (A study using HGLM on regional difference of the dead due to injuries)

  • 본 논문에서는 최근 중요한 문제로 대두되고 있는 손상으로 인한 사망 중 운수사고, 자살, 낙상사고에 의한 사망률에 대한 시 군 구 별 차이를 체계적으로 파악하고자 한다. 2008년 사망원인통계 원시 자료 중 19세 이상이면서, 국제사인분류에 따른 사인이 운수사고, 자살, 낙상사고에 의한 자료만을 추출하여 분석대상으로 고려하였다. 분석모형으로 성별, 연령, 1인당 주민세를 고정효과로 보정하고, 사망자수가 포아송분포를 따른다는 가정 하에 지역효과를 변량효과로 둔 포아송 HGLM 모형을 고려하여 시 군 구 소지역별 효과의 차이를 질병지도로 나타내었다. 분석결과 운수사고, 자살사고로 인한 사망률은 시 군 구 소지역별로 유의한 차이가 나타났지만, 낙상사고로 인한 사망률은 시 군 구 지역별로 유의한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다.
