  • In this paper, a session allocation algorithm for a switch with multiple shared links is proposed. The algorithm guarantees the reserved bandwidth to each service class and keeps the delay of sessions belonging to a service class as close as possible even if the sessionsare allocated to different shared links. To support these qualities of services, a new scheduling model for multiple shared links is defined and a session allocation algorithm to decide a shared link to be allocated to a new session on the connection establishmentis developed based on the model. The proposed heuristic algorithm allocates a session to a link including the subclass with the shortest (expected) delay that subclasses of the service class the session belongs to will experience. Simulation results verify that a switch with multiple shared links hiring the proposed algorithm provides service classes with fairer bandwidth allocation and higher throughput, and guarantees reserved bandwidth better than the switch hiring other session algorithms. It also guarantees very similarservice delay to the sessions in the same service class.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the degree of family support for diabetic patients and the diet therapy practice of patients themselves, and to analyze the relationship between family support and diet therapy practice and blood glucose control, and thus to prepare basic data for the development of effective education programs to improve blood glucose control in diabetic patients. The study subjects were 82 patients with type II diabetes, aged over 20 in the Chungbuk area. The gender distribution of subjects was 52.4% males and 47.6% females, and BMI showed 29.3% overweight and 35.3% obesity. Among the 82 study subjects, the relationship between diet therapy related family support and blood glucose control was examined in 67 subjects who answered practicing diet therapy, and the results showed that the family support score of a group with excellent blood glucose control was significantly higher than those of groups with fair or poor control (p<0.001) and the correlation between the two factors was very high (r=0.341, p<0.001). For the relationship between diet therapy practice by patients themselves and blood glucose control, diet therapy practice of a group with excellent blood glucose control was significantly higher than those of other groups (fair or poor control groups) (p<0.001) and the correlation between two factors was very high (r=0.304, p<0.001). For other factors influencing blood glucose control, a group with diabetes education showed significantly better blood glucose control compared to other groups without education (p<0.05). From the above results, diet therapy practice by patients, family support, and the necessity of diabetes education were confirmed to control blood glucose of diabetic patients. In conclusion, development and operation of education program should include not only patients but also their family members.

  • The Moon government, launched in May 2017, regards telecommunication service as part of people's welfare and is trying to save telecommunication costs. However, the direction of policy presented is assessed as symptomatic approach. This is largely attributable to the a partial improvement approach from the framework of the present mobile telecommunication industry. However if we restart from an essential point of view, the result is likely to be much better. The nation's mobile communication costs are not adequate because the government's role was not sufficient. There is a problem with the mobile phone supply chain, the subsidy payment mechanism, and the billing system. Addressing these complex issues requires the establishment of an independent system of handset distribution from telecommunication companies, ban on discriminative subsidies payment, and adoption of volume rate system. Telecommunications Business Act that defines the service charges to normalize the market might be somewhat useful, but the normal application of the Fair Trade Act is more important.

  • Research about QoS in the ad-hoc networks for stable service of various applications has been needed as the expectation about the realization of the ad-hoc networks grows bigger. Existing researches about QoS in the ad-hoc network had the problems which can not guarantee the quantitative services or create the overhead. In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm of QFAN(QoS Framework for Ad-hoc Networks) the framework to resolve such problems and considered application of the proposed algorithm into the ad-hoc networks. Our model can guarantee the minimum bandwidth of the real-time traffic as minimized the overhead. And, disproportionate distribution of bandwidth problem can resolve by the proposed algorithm through the fair share between real-time traffic and best-effort traffic about available bandwidth. We design both the TiRe(Tiny Reservation) and the ADR(Adaptive Drop Rate) control algorithm to apply the proposed QFAN. Using simulation, we confirm fair share of available bandwidth between real-time traffic and best-effort traffic as guarantee minimum required bandwidth of real-time traffic.

  • Torticollis is a deformity of the neck that shows tilting of the head toward the affected side and rotation of the chin toward the opposite side. In many cases with this condition, unilateral tightness of the sternocleidomastoid muscle is found frequently with fibrous tumor. The analysis of 43 cases of congenital muscular torticollis and result of their physical therapy are reported. The research was from Jan. 1, 1990 to Dec. 31, 1995 at Ulsan Dong Kang Hospital. The results obtained were as follows. 1. There were 30 males(69.8%) and 13 females(30.2%). Age distribution of patients showed below 2 month 20 cases(46.5%), above 1 year 7 cases(16.3%), 5~6/11~12 months 4 cases(9.3%), and 7~8 month 2 cases(4.6%). 2. 25 cases(58.1%) were on the right and 18 cases(41.9%) on the left side. Torticollis was mild to moderately severe in mild 22 cases(51.1%), moderate 18 cases (41.9%) and severe 3 cases(7%). 3. There were normal spontaneous delivery in 36 cases(83.7%), Cesaean section in 4 cases(9.3%) and breech presentation in 3 cases(7%). Sequence of birth, the 1st born babys were 30 cases(69.8%) and the 2nd born babys were 13 cases(30.2%). 4. Above fair result of physiotherapy were 36 cases(83.7%). 5. Of the 43 cases with fellow up, above fair 32 cases(74,4%) and poor 11 cases(25.6%) showed. As conclusion, passive stretch exercise of sternocleidomastoid muscle with early torticollis diagnosis seems more successful in recovery than no exercise.

  • In this study, the fauna of freshwater fish were investigated from March until October of 2016 in 24 independent streams in the Jeonnam and Jeonbuk provinces, which were flowing into the Yellow Sea. The health of the aquatic ecosystem in those streams was assessed through the biological and abiological character index (BAc index). During the surveyed period, a total of 4,127 individuals were collected; they belonged to 59 species of 44 genera in 18 families. The most dominant species identified was Zacco platypus, and 12 species were endemic species of Korea, including Rhodeus uyekii. The BAc index indicated a statistically significant correlation (p<0.01 or 0.05). The stage distribution of the aquatic ecosystem health assessment showed the highest rating of 41.7% at the "Fair" stage. The "Good" and "Poor" stages accounted for 20.8% while the "Excellent" stage took up 16.7%. It has been confirmed that the aquatic ecosystem health of independent streams is influenced more by the abiological character index as a consequence of geographical characteristics and artificial/natural limiting factors, than by the biological character index.

  • Background: Although prompt surgery after an orbital fracture is preferable, the actual timing of surgery in real-world settings varies. Therefore, this study investigated the outcomes of implant surgery for inferior orbital wall fractures by comparing three groups according to the time interval between the injury and surgery. Methods: A retrospective review was conducted of patients' medical charts and initial computed tomography images from 2009 to 2020. The time to treatment was chosen by patients or their guardians based on the patients' comorbidities and the physician's explanation. The patients were divided into three groups according to the time of surgery (group 1: 3-7 days, group 2: 8-14 days, group 3: 15 or more days). Data were collected on age, the time interval until surgery, the dimensions of the defect, the operation time, the follow-up period, and the postoperative paresthesia score (ranging from 0 to 10). The outcomes were evaluated using a 4-point scale: 4=good (no complications), 3=fair (no subjective symptoms), 2=poor (remaining paresthesia), and 1=very poor (strabismus and/or enophthalmos). Results: The study included 85 patients with unilateral fractures who underwent surgery from 3 to 93 days after injury. The overall score distribution of the surgical outcomes was as follows: good=63, fair=7, poor=6, and very poor=9. The three groups showed no significant differences in the transverse dimension of the injury (p=0.110) or the anteroposterior dimension (p=0.144). In groups 1, 2, and 3, the postoperative outcome scores were 3.84±0.37, 3.63±0.87, and 2.93±1.33 (p=0.083), and the percentage of patients with good outcomes was 84%, 81.25%, and 57.14%, respectively. Conclusion: Performing surgery using an artificial implant within 2 weeks of the injury showed better outcomes and fewer postoperative complications than when treatment was delayed.

  • The harvesting season of lompa fish, Thryssa baelama, through sasi, indigenous knowledge in resources management, in Haruku Village has become a socio-cultural event that attracts many people. The sasi of lompa fish has been conducted for hundreds of years. Information on the bioecology aspect of lompa fish is limited, while this information is crucial for lompa fish sustainability through the sasi approach. This study aimed to investigate some population parameters of lompa fish, its sustainability status, and proposed a sustainable management strategy for the lompa fishery of Haruku Village. Fish population parameter covers length-weight relationship, growth pattern, size distribution, sex ratio, and the body condition index. The sustainability status was assessed following the Rapfish approach. Fisheries management strategy was performed using a conceptual model framework based on Driver Pressure State Impact Response. The research shows that the total length varies between 9.2-14.3 cm. A high relationship was found between total length and weight, and the growth pattern was an allometric negative. There was a difference in sex ratio between males and females, with females dominant. The body condition index varies over time, probably due to reproductive status. The overall sustainability status was at fair condition (61.60%), with the ecological domain having the highest sustainable status (71.07%) and considered sustain. In comparison, the technological domain had the lowest sustainability status (52.58%) and was considered fair sustain. There were seven management strategies proposed for sustainable management for the lompa fishery.

  • Because our country was currently carrying out of municipality, a local independent athletic policy was required. The purpose of this study was to identify what extent athletic budget apportioned from the government, and review how to allocate a reasonable budget for each local government. We investigated detailed current situation of policy through literature review. Based on the athletic budget of the central government, financial independence rate of local governments, the results of 2012 London Olympics, and etc, the conclusions are as follows. (1) It should be increased more the athletic budget of the government. In addition, it should be stopped that the proceeds generated from the sports business is supported in unrelated sports sector. (2) It should be supported by considering the financial independence rate of local government and local characteristics. (3) It should be supported by the different rate based on a fair assessment results of each sports group. (4) Sports for all aid projects should be transformed into quality-based aid increasing the actual value from quantity-based support. (5) It should establish the valid principles and standards that can be fair distribution of athletic finances.
