스마트공장 운영 과정에서 나타나는 문제점 개선 방안 (Methods to Improve Problems in The Smart Factory Operation Process)

  • 스마트공장 구축 사업은 국내 및 국외에서 지속적으로 수행되고 있다. 특히 불확실성이 증대하는 시기에는 기업의 생산성 향상을 위해 스마트공장에 대한 관심이 높아지기도 한다. 현재 국내에서도 정부 주도의 스마트공장 구축 사업이 지속적으로 추진되어 오고 있다. 이러한 구축사업의 가시적인 성과가 생산성 향상, 품질개선, 원가 절감 등의 지표들에서 매우 긍정적으로 나타나고 있다. 반면에 스마트공장 구축 후에 운영상의 어려움 등을 파악하는 설문조사에서는 다양한 내용들이 나타나고 있다. 본 연구에서는 2017년과 2020년에 시행된 설문조사 내용에 나타난 시스템 구축 후 운영상의 어려움(문제점)등을 분석하여 이들에 대한 개선 방안을 도출하였다. 이러한 개선 방안들이 스마트공장 구축 사업의 해당 과정에서 시행된다면 기업들이 느끼는 운영상의 어려움 등이 감소될 것으로 보이며, 기존보다는 만족도가 높은 시스템이 구축될 수 있을 것이다.

A Study on Real Time Working Path Control of Vertical Type Robot System for the Forging and Casting Process Automation

  • In this study, we describe a new approach to real-time implementation of working path control for the forging and casting manufacturing process by vertical type articulated robot system. The proposed control scheme is simple in structure, fast in computation, and useful for real-time control of factory automation based on robot system. Moreover, this scheme does not require any accurate parameter information, nor values of the uncertain parameters and payload variations. Reliability of the proposed controller is proved by simulation and experimental results for robot manipulator consisting of arm with six degrees of freedom under the variation of payloads and tracking trajectories in Cartesian space and joint space. The vertical type articulated robot manipulator with six axes made in SMEC Co., Ltd. has been used for real-time implementation test to illustrate the enhanced working path control performance for unmanned automation of the forging and casting manufacturing process.

CPS(Cyber Physical System)와 MIS의 연구기회 탐색 (CPS(Cyber Physical System) & Research Opportunities for MIS)

  • Purpose Recently, much attention in building smart factory has dramatically increased with an emergence of the Industry 4.0. As we noted a connectivity gap between main concerns of MIS and the automated manufacturing systems such as POP and MES, it is recommended that CPS (Cyber-Physical System) can be an important building block for the smart factory and enrich the depth of MIS knowledge. Therefore, first, this study attempted to identify the connectivity gap between the traditional field of MIS (ERP, SCM, CRM, etc.) and the automated manufacturing systems, and then recommended CPS as a technical bridge to fill the gap. Secondly, we studied concepts and research trend of CPS that is believed to be a virtual mechanism to manage manufacturing systems in an integrated manner. Finally, we suggested research and educational opportunities in MIS based on the CPS perspectives. Design/methodology/approach Since this paper introduced relatively new idea of CPS originally discussed in the field of engineering, traditional MIS research method such as survey and experiment may not fit well. Therefore this research collected technical cases through literature survey in engineering fields, video clips from Youtube, and field references from various ICT Exhibitions and Conventions. Then we analyzed and reorganized them to highlight the necessity of CPS and draw some insight to share with MIS academia. Findings This paper introduced CPS to bridge the connectivity gap between the traditional MIS and automated manufacturing system (smart factory), a concern far away from the MIS academia. Further, this paper suggested future research subjects of MIS such as developing software to share big production data and systems to support manufacturing decisions, and innovating MIS curricula including smart and intelligent manufacturing technology within the context of traditional enterprise systems.

  • Machine vision system plays an important role in factory automation. Its many applications are found in automobile manufacturing industries, as an eye for robotic automation system. In this paper, an automobile position measuring vision system(APMVS) applicable to manufacturing line for under body painting of a car is introduced. The APMVS measures position and orientation of the car body to be sealed or painted by the robots. The configuration of the overall robotic sealing/painting system, design and application procedure, and application examples are described.

  • 본 논문에서는 상용 CDC 카메라를 동하여 각종 산업용 부품들의 영상 정보를 입력한 후 이를 이용하여 부품에 기록된 각종 문자들을 자동 인식하고 인식된 문자 정보를 활용하여 부품의 제조, 조립 및 검사 공정 등을 자동화시킬 수 있는 산업용 부품 문자 인식 시스템을 구축하였다. 이러한 영상 정보 기반 산업용 부품 문자 인식 시스템을 작업 현장에 적용할 경우 생산성 향상, 경비 절감, 고품질 제품의 생산 및 공정의 자동화 등 다양한 요구를 충족시킬 수 있을 것이다.

VHDL과 FPGA를 이용한 BLDC Motor의 속도 제어 시스템 구현 (Implementation of the BLDC Motor Speed Control System using VHDL and FPGA)

  • This paper presents the implementation for the BLDC motor speed control system using VHDL and FPGA. The BLDC motor is widely used in automation for its good robustness and easy controllability. In order to control the speed of the BLDC motor, the PI controller used for static RPM output of the BLDC motor to variations in load. In addition, by using the DA converter, we were able to monitor the BLDC motor reference speed and the current speed through real time. The motor speed command and the parameters of the PI speed controller were modified easily by the FPGA and the AD converter. Finally, in order to show the feasibility of the control algorithm the speed control characteristics of the motor was monitored using an oscilloscope and the DA converter. Further, the speed control system was designed in this paper has shown the applicability of the drive system of the factory automation.

  • The demand for automatic manufacturing systems is increasing. Flexible Manufacturing System(FMS) is usually considered as a soluting for the shop floor automation. One of the difficulties in FMS is the communications problem. Since various machineries with different communications protocoles are included, applying a unified scheme is almost impossible. Therefore, a systematic approach is a key point to solve the communication problem. A cell is difined as an automation unit where closely related for a job reside together. A cell is a messenger between upper level computers and lower level machine equipment. In this research, the fonctions of the cell are defined to have more capabilities than conventional cells since a cell can be often a total manufacturing system is a small to medium sized factory. The cell conducts communications with different machines through the communications schemes established here. A set of software system has been developed according to the defined communication. The software has been tested for a simulation and real experiments for proof.

  • The diagnosis and monitoring system of abnormal cutting condition is necessary to realize precision machining proces and factory automation, which are final goal of metal cutting in order to develop this system, theimage processing technique has been investigated in machining process. In theis paper, the measurement system of tool wear using computer vision is designed to detect the wear pattern by non-contact and direct method and get the realiable wear information about cutting tool. We measured the area of the side and front part of the diamond core dril which is used in 40kHz ultrasonic vibration machine.

  • The tire manufacturing process demands classification of tire types when the tires are transferred between the inner processes. Though most processes are being well automated, the classification relies greatly upon the visual inspection of humen. This has been an obstacle to the factory automation of tire manufacturing companies. This paper proposes an effective vision systems which can be usefully applied to the tire classification process in real time. The system adopts a parallel architecture using multiple transputers and contains the algorithms of preprocesssing for character recognition. The system can be easily expandable to manipulate the large data that can be processed seperately.

  • In milling process, monitoring and diagosis system is very importent to accomplish factory automation. In this study, to drvelope on-line tool breakage detection system in face milling operation, analysis and experiment were performed. The tool breakage detection experiment was performed in machining center and the effectiveness of the detection tool breakage detection alorithm and the usage of feed drive current as a detection signal were verified.
