Recently, there have been a lot of researches on the whole face replacement system, but it is not easy to obtain stable results due to various attitudes, angles and facial diversity. To produce a natural synthesis result when replacing the face shown in the video image, technologies such as face area detection, feature extraction, face alignment, face area segmentation, 3D attitude adjustment and facial transposition should all operate at a precise level. And each technology must be able to be interdependently combined. The results of our analysis show that the difficulty of implementing the technology and contribution to the system in facial replacement technology has increased in facial feature point extraction and facial alignment technology. On the other hand, the difficulty of the facial transposition technique and the three-dimensional posture adjustment technique were low, but showed the need for development. In this paper, we propose four facial replacement models such as 2-D Faceswap, OpenPose, Deekfake, and Cycle GAN, which are suitable for the Cox platform. These models have the following features; i.e. these models include a suitable model for front face pose image conversion, face pose image with active body movement, and face movement with right and left side by 15 degrees, Generative Adversarial Network.
Computer vision and natural-language dialogue play an important role in friendly human-machine interfaces for service robots. In this paper we describe an integrated face detection and face recognition system for a welfare robot, which has also been combined with the robot's speech interface. Our approach to face detection is to combine neural network (NN) and genetic algorithm (GA): ANN serves as a face filter while GA is used to search the image efficiently. When the face is detected, embedded Hidden Markov Model (EMM) is used to determine its identity. A real-time system has been created by combining the face detection and recognition techniques. When motivated by the speaker's voice commands, it takes an image from the camera, finds the face inside the image and recognizes it. Experiments on an indoor environment with complex backgrounds showed that a recognition rate of more than 88% can be achieved.
In a face, there is much information of person's identity. Because of this property, various tasks such as expression recognition, identity recognition and deepfake have been actively conducted. Most of them use the exact frontal view of the given face. However, various directions of the face can be observed rather than the exact frontal image in real situation. The profile (side view) lacks information when comparing with the frontal view image. Therefore, if we can generate the frontal face from other directions, we can obtain more information on the given face. In this paper, we propose a combined style model based the conditional generative adversarial network (cGAN) for generating the frontal face from multi-view images that consist of characteristics that not only includes the style around the face (hair and beard) but also detailed areas (eye, nose, and mouth).
The comparisons of performance characteristics between the super-mirror face grinding machine using variable air pressure developed in this laboratory to grind precisely the sliding face of a surface hardened workpiece with thermal spray and the conventional one are investigated by measuring the surface roughness and hardness for a SCM440. To process variously workpiece according to shape, size and materials, the rotating and contacting forces of the developed grinding machine can be changed by air pressure. The surface roughness of processed workpiece can be also attained to state of mirror face by grinding precisely the sliding face with changing the rotating speed of diamond wheel. It is possible to be attached to the various machine tools because the super-mirror face grinding machine using variable air pressure is a small size. The grinding efficiency is elevated because it can be worked by two or more grinding machines attached to concurrently a machine tool for the large workpiece. In this study, results show that the cusp height of the super-mirror face grinding machine for the particle size of 100 and $1500No./mm^2$ is lower than that of the conventional one because the vibration is reduced by rotating very fast the diamond wheel with a pressed air and it can be processed by rotating the diamond wheel with a constantly varied air pressure perpendicular to workpiece surface, and that the workpiece in the super-mirror face grinding machine for the particle size of $3000No./mm^2$ can be processed to state of mirror face that is rarely seen by the cusp height. It is also found that the surface hardness of both the conventional and the super-mirror face grinding machines are increased as the particle size of diamond wheel is reduced, and the surface hardness of the super-mirror face grinding machine is HRC 1.1 ~ 1.8 higher than that of the conventional one.
In this paper, we propose the face identification method which is robust for lighting based on the feature points method. First of all, the proposed method extracts an edge of facial feature. Then, by the hough transform, it determines ellipse parameters of each facial feature from the extracted edge. Finally, proposed method performs the face identification by using parameters. Even if face image is taken under various lighting condition, it is easy to extract the facial feature edge. Moreover, it is possible to extract a subject even if the object has not appeared enough because this method extracts approximately the parameters by the hough transformation. Therefore, proposed method is robust for the lighting condition compared with conventional method. In order to show the effectiveness of the proposed method, computer simulations are done by using the real images.
Purpose: It is intended to investigate the satisfaction of dental hygiene students with non-face-to-face online classes and use them as basic data for successful lecture design and operation. Methods: The data collected in this study were analyzed using the lBM SPSS Statistics 21 program. The general characteristics of the study subjects were frequency analysis, non-face-to-face online class satisfaction, and test satisfaction were frequency analysis and technical statistics. Through the independent sample T test, a t-test was conducted to find out whether there was an average difference in online class and test satisfaction according to grade. Results: The advantages of non-face-to-face online classes were that repetitive learning was possible (57.7%), the disadvantage was that there was a lack of real-time communication (74.9%), and the most efficient teaching method was a mixed form of online and face-to-face classes (64.9%). The satisfaction level of online classes was 2.69 points for 'self-directed learning habits,' which was the highest compared to the overall average of 2.55 points, and 2.09 points for 'difficulty in interaction between instructors and learners in online classes.'Non-face-to-face test satisfaction was 2.68 points for 'short test time gives fairness to test results,' higher than the overall average of 2.45 points, and 2.07 points for 'no difficulty accessing the test.'In terms of satisfaction with the non-face-to-face test according to the grade, it was found that the third grade showed a more negative attitude than the second grade in terms of sexual fairness (p<0.05). Conclusions: Through the above results, non-face-to-face online classes require various content development and some mixed classes considering the level of students, and instructors' efforts to improve the quality of classes for interaction between instructors and learners are needed.
The purpose of this study was in a pandemic situation caused by COVID-19 to explore the online distance experiments and interaction of engineering freshmen, and to identify practical difficulties, resulting in to derive implications. Seven freshmen from engineering college participated in the interview, of which data were analyzed based on phenomenological analysis methods. The types of non-face-to-face experiments experienced by students were complete non-face-to-face experiment, mixed face-to-face experiment, and fusion face-to-face experiment. Students were completely isolated in time and space in complete non-face-to-face experiment. In biweekly mixed face-to-face experiment, isolation was halved. In fusion face-to-face experiment, isolation was removed. Non-face-to-face interactions can be characterized by restrictions on simultaneous activities, on rapport formation, and on observation opportunities. Based on these results, three implications were derived: First, it is necessary to allow students to manage time and space constraints on their own in non-face-to-face experiments. Second, support is needed to solve the difficulty of forming rapport, which is a characteristic of non-face-to-face interaction. Third, an opportunity to observe the interaction between other students and professors should be provided.
Until now it has not surely been pointed out about the relation between the biting force and the facial types in scientific view. But it's correlation was assumed by several scientists : recently some literatures reported about the maximum biting force and facial types, but there's only a little articles about the relation between the biting force(biting force contain maximum biting force, chewing force and swallowing force) and facial type. So this study was, firstly, performed to establish the relation of the nomal face and long face versus biting force. 2ndly it was performed to establish the relation between the difference in mouth opening degrees versus biting force. 3rdly it was performed to establish the relation between male and female versus biting force. Biting force was measured from 56 adults (normal 26, long 30) whose samples was selected from Yonsei university students and Hospital patients. Sample was divided into 2groups (normal and long) by lateral cephalogram. The results of this study was obtained as follows. 1. Maximum biting force and chewing force in long face was smaller than normal face. 2. When the thickness of transducer was changed from 6m to 9mm, maximum biting force andchewingforcewaslargerthanbefore. 3. In case of comparing with male and female, male was larger than female in maximum biting force and chewing force.
