  • As homenetwork has been built at general homes, users want to connect various types of devices and control them. To realize a new environment that most people dream, there have been many services developed, and the various types of devices have been proposed and then their usage and validity have been reviewed. However, as the technical design guideline seems to be prepared soon for the standardization under the situation that has been progressed mainly by technology-lead style so far, making homenetwork a product is expected to be advanced, and therefore now it is the time to discuss the design development at full stage, which is really valuable for users. We have to consider it not to make any alienated class in the society on the whole when considering these devices, and also we have to develop the design by differentiating it toward the direction that we accept users and use environment's special conditions. In addition, each devices should have reliability, no malfunction or error and long life span. At the same time, those products, which can be new changes we can joyfully accept as well as the habits we are already accustomed to, should be developed, and thereby they may naturally have to be absorbed into our present living. The design development direction for future homenetwork can vary depending on our expectation and needs, and it will become a good guidebook for the producer who have to invest much financially or in time. Therefore, this study intends to examine the present network trend and development direction and then suggest the product design direction for future homenetwork.

  • The use of digital signage in the public and commercial communication areas has been increasing in recent years. By integrating cutting-edge information technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things, digital signage continues to break apart from traditional outdoor advertising media. This study identified the problems facing the domestic digital signage industry by exploring and analyzing major issues related to digital signage and derived future development measures. Specifically, online documents were collected based on the digital signage-related keywords created over the past 12 years to conduct big data network analysis, and key topics were derived through visualization of the results. This study has great policy implications in that it excluded biased interpretations based on the viewpoints of companies or the government and, more objectively, suggested the direction of the digital signage industry's development in the domestic media market.

  • A common problem encountered in product or process design is the selection of optimal parameter levels which involves simultaneous consideration of multiple response variables. This is called a multiresponse problem. A multiresponse problem is solved through three major stages: data collection, model building, and optimization. Up to date, various methods have been proposed for the optimization, including the desirability function approach and loss function approach. In this paper, the existing studies in multiresponse optimization are reviewed and a future research direction is then proposed.

  • Feed drive systems are used to position the machine tool components carrying the cutting tool and workpiece to the desired location. Hence, their positioning accuracy and speed determine the quality and productivity of machine tools. In this paper, technical trend of machine tools feed drive systems are analyzed by patent mapping. And this paper suggested future development direction of feed drive systems. The analysis is carried out by using problem solution map (PSM) for the applied patent during January 2000 and December 2009 in Korea, Japan, EU and U.S.A.

  • This study proposes the direction of planning and designing for the media related facilities through the future concepts of media-center even though the concept and environment of the media-center are developed mealy at elementary schools in Korea. This study investigates and analyzes whether the present facilities are ready for the efficient education and improved facilities through comparison between after and before the 7th education program of systems of the academic support facilities. Therefore this study proposes the direction of developing and designing media-center through the field survey, make-up questionaries and analyzing architectural drawings of media related facilities for the future.

  • R&D association is a very important institution to promote inter-firm technological cooperation, In Korea, they have begun to be established in 1982, and at now 56 R&D associations are working. The purpose of this study is In analyze the problems of the R&D associations, and to suggest a new direction of their future development Their problems were analyzed from the perspective of cooperative R&D mechanisms, especially with a new concept of R&D community : search community, planning community, community of research itself. This study emphases the importance of the R&D association's role as a planning community, and the institutional linkage between R&D association and National R&D program through the introduction of design-in planning system.

  • We investigated the dependence of the retardation dispersion on the polarization direction of ultraviolet (UV) light during the photopolymerization of self-organized smectic reactive mesogen (RM) molecules. RM retarder film that was photopolymerized with UV light linearly polarized parallel to the layer plane showed negative dispersion (ND) of retardation for a wide range of UV polymerization temperatures. On the other hand, film that was photopolymerized with unpolarized UV light showed negative dispersion in a narrow range of UV polymerization temperatures. With a certain UV polymerization temperature, the dispersion of retardation was converted from positive to negative, depending on the UV polarization.
