  • Poly (L- lactic acid-co-glycine-L-lactic acid) and Poly (L-lactic acid-co-glycine-L- methyl lactic acid ) have been prepared by ring opening polymerization. The monomer 6, 6-dimethyl morpho-line-2, 5-dione was synthesized by the bromoisobutylation of 2-bromoisobutyryl bromide with glycin e. L-lactide, 6-methyl morpholine-2, 5-diode. and 6, 6-dimethyl morpholine-2, 5-diode have been used as starting materials for polydepsipeptides. The synthesized monomers and copolymers have been identified by NMR and FT-lR spa- ctrophotometer. The thermal propert ies and glass transition temperature(Tg) of the copolymers have been measured by differential scanning calorimetry. The Tg values of poly(L-lactic acid co-glycine-L-lactic acid) system are increased from $53^{\circ}C\; to\; 107^{\circ}C$ with increasing the mole fraction of 6-methyl morpholine-2, 5-diode. And the Tg values of poly(L-lactic acid co-glycine-L-methyl lactic acid) system are increased from $53^{\circ}C\;to\;138^{\circ}C$ with increasing the mole fraction of 6. 6-dimethyl morpholine-2, 5-diode The thermal stability of poly (L-lactic acid-co-glycine-L-methyl lactic acid) is slightly greta text than that of poly(L-lactic acid-co-glycine-L-lactic acid) due to the methyl group.

고강도와 보통강도 콘크리트를 사용한 보-기둥 접합부의 구조적 거동 (The Investigation on the Behavior of Beam-Column Joint with High and Low Strength Concerte)

  • R/C라멘골조에 있어서 수직부재(기둥, 벽등)에 수평부재(보, 슬라브등)의 콘크리트 강도보다 1.4배가 넘는 강도의 콘크리트를 분리타설할 경우 ACI 318-89 R10. 13. 1은 수직부재에 타설한 콘크리트가 수평부재로 2ft(60cm)이상의 내민길으를 확보하도록 규정하고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 이 규정을 그대로 적용하기에 앞서 실험적인 검증을 통하여 구조적인 안전성을 확보하기 위하여 주요변수로서 콘크리트 압축강도, 전단보강비, 하중재하방법 등을 두어 총 6개의 시험체를 시험 및 분석하였다. 실험결과는 일방향 단조하중을 받는 시험체가 반복하중을 받는 시험체보다 다소 낮은 하중 수행능력을 보였다. 반복하중을 받는 시험체의 경우 접합면으로부터 5~20cm정도 떨어진 부분에 집중적인 균열이 발생하였으나 2ft(60cm)의 내민길이 면에서의 거의 균열이 발생하지 않아 현재 ACI의 내민길이 2ft(60cm)에 대한 규정은 매우 안전한 것으로 사료되며, 전단보강비가 증가함에 따라 부재의 연성능력이 증가하는 것으로 나타나 요구되는 전단보강근양의 50%이하는 부재의 거동에 다소 불리하나 50%를 초과하는 전단보강은 과다한 보강인 것으로 나타났다.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the transmission spectrum of the set calcium hydroxide dental cement (Dycal, L.D. Caulk Co. Milford, Del.) Cement was prepared for A T R spectra at a low powder-to-liquid ratio of 3.0gm/ml in order to retard the reaction and facilitate the manipulation of loading the cement into the cell. Spectra were recorded on an I R Spectrophotometer (MX-1, FT) at an agle of incidence of 55. The A T R cell was a RIIc Model TR5 with a hemisperical KRS-5 (Thallium-Bromide-Iodide). A spectrum was recorded within 3 minutes. Further spectra were recorded after 5,10,30 minutes and 1,5,24, 72 hours. The results were as follows; 1. The setting reaction between acid paste and base past would take place fastly within 10 minutes after mix, and that would be slow until 72 hours after mix. 2. In the set cements, some methyl salicylate and calcium hydroxide remained unreacted until 72 hours after mix. 3. The setting reaction and the reaction rate occuring at the surface and in the bulk cements were similar. 4. The chelates were bound together between calcium hydroxide and methyl salicylate.

Biosurfactant Production from Novel Air Isolate NITT6L: Screening, Characterization and Optimization of Media

  • In this paper, an air isolate (NITT6L) has been screened based on hemolytic activity, emulsification activity, drop collapsing test, and oil displacement test, as well as lipase activity. It was found that strain NITT6L was able to reduce the surface tension of the medium from 61.5 to 39.83 mN/m and could form stable emulsions with tested vegetable oils. Morphological, biochemical, 16S rRNA sequencing analyses, and fatty acid methyl ester analysis using gas chromatography confirmed that the air isolate under study was Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Characterization of the biosurfactant using agar double diffusion assay revealed that the biosurfactant was anionic in nature, and CTAB-methylene blue assay and Molisch test revealed its glycolipid nature. The FT-IR spectrum confirmed that the crude biosurfactant was a rhamnolipid. Using unoptimized medium containing sucrose as the carbon source, the isolate was found to produce 0.3 mg/ml of rhamnolipid in batch cultivation (shake flask) at $37^{\circ}C$ and pH 7. Optimization of the medium components was carried out using design of experiments and the yield of rhamnolipid has been enhanced to 4.6 mg/ml in 72 h of fermentation.

Purification and Physiochemical Characterization of Melanin Pigment from Klebsiella sp. GSK

  • A bacterium capable of producing melanin pigment in the presence of L-tyrosine was isolated from a crop field soil sample and identified as Klebsiella sp. GSK based on morphological, biochemical, and 16S rDNA sequencing. The polymerization of this pigment occurs outside the cell wall, which has a granular structure as melanin ghosts. Chemical characterization of the pigment particles showed then to be acid resistant, alkali soluble, and insoluble in most of the organic solvents and water. The pigment got bleached when subjected to the action of oxidants as well as reductants. This pigment was precipitated with $FeCl_3$, ammoniacal silver nitrate, and potassium ferricynide. The pigment showed high absorbance in the UV region and decreased absorbance when shifted towards the visible region. The melanin pigment was further charecterized by FT-IR and EPR spectroscopies. A key enzyme, 4-hydroxyphenylacetic acid hydroxylase, that catalyzes the formation of melanin pigment by hydroxylation of L-tyrosine was detected in this bacterium. Inhibition studies with specific inhibitors, kojic acid and KCN, proved that melanin is synthesized by the DOPA-melanin pathway.

  • 졸겔법에 의해 제조된$ MO-SiO_2$(M=Zn, Sn, In, Ag, Ni)이성분계 실리카 겔에서 금속이온의 종류에 따른 실리카 구조의 변화를 XRD, FT-lR, $^{29}$Si-NMR로 분석하였다. XRD peak을 관찰한 결과 $Ag-SiO_2$겔에서 $AgNO_3$의 부분적인 재결정화가 나타났지만, 첨가된 금속이온과 실리카 매트릭스의 결합에 의한 결정상은 관찰되지 않았다. FT-IR 분석결과 첨가되는 금속이온 중 Zn, Sn, In은 부분적으로 Si-O-M의 결합형태를 이루어 Si-O-Si 대칭 진동에 의한 흡수 peak의 위치를 변화시켰다. $^{29}$Si-NMR 관찰에 의해 Zn, Sn, In등의 금속이온은 실리카의 저온 졸겔 반응에 영향을 미치지 않고 불완전한 네트워크를 갖는 선형적 실리카 구조 내에서 비가교 산소와 결합하며 존재하였다. Ag, Ni는 실리카 네트워크가 형성되는 과정에서 실리카 형성을 위한 졸겔반응의 촉매로서 작용하여, 이러한 금속이온이 첨가된 실리카 네트워크는 보다 치밀한 구조적 특성을 나타내었다.

  • LPE(Liquid Phase Epitaxial)법을 이용하여 성장시킨 B $i_2$S $r_2$Ca(C $u_{1-x}$ N $i_{x}$ )$_2$ $O_{8+}$$\delta$/ 막(film)을 break junction 법을 이용하여 터널링 분광을 측정하였다. Ni 조성비 $\chi$$_{L}$의 증가에 따라 에너지 간격 2$\Delta$의 크기는 증가하였다. 에너지 간격 2$\Delta$(4.2 K)는 54.4~64 meV, 2$\Delta$/ $k_{B}$ $T_{c}$ $^{zero}$는 7.36~10.14로 BCS 이론에 의한 값 보다 큰 결과를 얻었다. 융액(melting solution) 속의 Ni 조성비 $\chi$$_{L}$의 증가에 따라, 임계온도 $T_{c}$ $^{zero}$와 격자상수 c-축의 길이는 감소하는 경향을 보였다.을 보였다.$^{zero}$와 격자상수 c-축의 길이는 감소하는 경향을 보였다.

Octyldiinethyl p-aminobenzoate와 \brta -Cyclodextrin$의 포접화합물에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Inclusion Complexation of Octyldimethyl p-aminobengoate with \brta -Cyclodextrin$)

  • Inclusion complex formation of octyldimethl p-aminobenzoate with $\beta$-cyclodextrin in aqueous solution and in the solid state was studied by the solubility method, spectroscopic(UV, FT-lR) and X -ray diffractometry. The solid complex of octyldimethy p-aminobenzoate with $\beta$-cyclodextrin was obtained in molar ratio of 1 : 2(guest/host). A spatial relationship between host and guest molecule was clearly reflected in the magnitude of the apparent stability constant (K') and in the stoichiometry of the inclusion complex. Furthermore, a typical type Bs phase-solubility diagram was obtained for octyldimethyl p-aminobenzoate and p -cyclodextrin in water at $25^{\circ}C$. The results indicated that the solubility of the guest molecule was higher by the formation of $\beta$-cyclodextrin inclusion complex.

BTCA로 방추가공한 면직물의 수착 성질 및 물리적 성질의 연구 (A Study on the Sorption and Physical Properties of the BTCA Finished Cotton Fabrics)

  • Cotton fabrics were treated with BTCA, which is used to improve the wrinkle recovery property of cotton fabrics. BTCA, with varying its concentrations, was treated on cotton fabrics by pad dry-cure technique. BTCA contents in treated cotton fabrics were determined by the weight gain and the FT-lR spectrometer. The effects on the sorption and physical properties of BTCA treated fabrics were investigated. IR spectra showed that ester-crosslinks were produced in BTCA treated cotton fabrics. And as increasing the concentration of BTCA, ester-crosslinks are increased in amorphous regions of fabrics. Moisture regain and water imbibition of treated fabrics were reduced. But, they were increased over a certain concentration. Dye sorptions also were reduced, but they were similar over 6% BTCA. When BTCA was treated on cotton fabrics, DP rating and wrinkle recovery angle were improved. On the other hand, strength retentions of treated fabrics were lower than untreated fabrics. Stiffness was increased.

키토산 유도체의 합성과 이의 전기유변학적 특성에 관한 연구 (Study on Electrorheological Properties of the Synthesized Chitosan Derivatives)

  • Chitosan derivatives, Fluorinated chitosan, and N,N,N-Trimethyl chitosan iodide were synthesized as the disperse phases for the electrorheological fluid. The synthesis of these materials were confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-lR). Chitosan derivative suspensions showed ER effect under the electric field. Especially, N,N,N-Trimethyl chitosan iodide suspension showed better electrorheological and electric properties than Fluorinated chitosan. It is due to difference in electron strength of polar groups composed derivatives. N,N,N-Trimethyl chitosan iodide suspension exhibited a linear dependence on an electric field power of 2.07.
