  • Silver impregnated activated carbon fibers were post-modified using hydrochloric acid. Adsorption behaviors, SEM morphologies, and functional groups for the silver impregnated ACFs were compared with those of post-modified ACFs. Adsorption isotherms were used to characterize $S_{BET}$, the pore structure and volume of silver-activated carbon fibers (ACFs) before and after acid post-treatment. In order to the reveal the causes of the differences surface states after the samples were washed with hydrochloric acid, outer surface and pore structure were investigated by SEM. And the type and quality of various functional groups were studied from FT-IR spectra and Boehm titration method. Finally, the quantitative properties in silver contents were also examined by EDX spectra.

  • This study used the heat conductive silicone rubber sample of 0.95 mm thickness to research the properties of current by changing voltage. When the 1, 10, 30, 60, and 90 minute have passed, the running current has been measured through the applied voltage range of 200 V~800 V on setting temperature of $110^{\circ}C{\sim}170^{\circ}C$. As the temperature increased in applied voltage of 800 V, so did the current value according to time in proportion to the increasing temperature. In an analysis of FT-IR (fourier transform infrared) spectrum, the hydroxyl radicals group(O-H) was created by effects of the hydrogen that methyl group is eliminated by addition of the cross-linking agent peroxide.

  • Fault rate of RCD is increasing due to deterioration and long period usage in domestic. According to Korean standards, the RCDs are installed in panel boards. When RCDs are installed at outdoor, the RCDs must be protected from uv, water etc. by using the housing. However, many RCDs are exposed to the external environment. As a results, many RCDs have malfunctions so that cause the electrical accidents. The RCDs manufactured by four makes were used as the sample to weathering test. Futhermore, those were analyzed the ingredients of RCD'S using SEM, EDX and FT-IR/TAR before and after weathering test.

  • In this studying, we investigated the basic properties of N-doped plasma polymer. The N-doped ethylcyclohexane plasma polymer thin films were deposited by radio frequency (13.56 MHz) plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition method. Ethylcyclohexenewas used as organic precursor (carbon source) with hydrogen gas as the precursor bubbler gas. Additionally, ammonia gas [NH3] was used as nitrogen dopant. The as-grown polymerized thin films were analyzed using ellipsometry, Fourier-transform infrared [FT-IR] spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, FE-SEM, and water contact angle measurement. The ellipsometry results showed the refractive index change of the N-doped ethylcyclohexene plasma polymer film. The FT-IR spectrashowed that the N-doped ethylcyclohexene plasma polymer films were completely fragmented and polymerized from ethylcyclohexane.

  • Silk fibers excavated at Fujinoki mounted tomb, Shimoikeyana mounted tomb and Kuriyama site were examined using FT-IR microscope and two peaks called amide I and II present in modern silk fibers were compared with those of excavated fibers. It was found that amide ground in a polymer molecule decreased with the progress of degradation and peak intensity of amide group in infrared spectrum decreased correspondingly. The advantages of FT-IR microscopy for the analysis of organic remains in archaeological view point were evaluated and it was concluded that the systematic investigation of spectral change due to the degradation of respective material is essential.

  • In this study, we synthesized p-hexyloxybenzaldehyde(HBA) by using p-hydroxybenzaldehyde and n-hexylchloride. p-dodecylaniline(DDA) prepared by nitration and reduction of dodecylbenzene. The schiff base, p-dodecylbenzylidene-$p^\prime$-hexyloxyaniline (DBHA) was synthesized by reaction of HBA and DDA. The color of synthetic compound was pale-brown and the yield was 62%. All the synthetic compounds were identified by TLC, FT-IR and ${^{i}H}$-NMR.In this study, we synthesized p-hexyloxybenzaldehyde(HBA) by using p-hydroxybenzaldehyde and n-hexylchloride. p-dodecylaniline(DDA) prepared by nitration and reduction of dodecylbenzene. • Recently, owing to the development of industry and improvement of building techniques, concrete structures are becoming larger and higher. This study was performed to analyze hydration reation properties of concrete with binders and admixtures, such as OPC, low heat cement, belite rich cement, slag powder, lime powder and fly ash. To investigate effects of PC type superplasticizer on the hydration, experiments involving FT-IR, XRD, DSC, SEM were analyzed at the curing age 1day, 3days and 28days. The hydration reaction rate of OPC concrete slightly delayed at the curing age 1day, blast furnace slag powder and fly ash were more effective. BRC and LHC concretes can be used for concrete structures in winter season.

  • In this research, (3-alkyl benzimidazalium)-TCNQ complexes were synthesized to obtain the necessary components for Langmuir-Blodgett Technique. (3- Alkyl benzimidazolium)-TCNQ complexes were prepared by the reaction of LiTCNQ with 3-alkyl benzimidazolium bromides and the products were confirmed by elemental analysis. FT-IR, UV-Visible spectroscopies. FT-IR spectra of (3-alkyl benzimidazolium) TCNQ(1:2) complexes were characterized by a broad band with a maximum at about $2900cm^{-1}$ appears and were ascribed to electronic rather than vibrational absorption.

  • Hydrogenated amorphous carbon nitride [a-C:H(N)] films were deposited on pretreated silicon(100) substrate in activated gas phase using. RF plasma-assisted CVD. We measured the FT-IR spectrum to investigate $C{\equiv}N$ stretching mode(nitrile), C-H stretching mode, C-H bending mode, C=C stretching mode C=N(imino) mode, and the EDX to investigate the ratio of N to C(0.25). By the results of FT-IR and EDX spectrum, We confirmed that hydrogenated amorphous carbon nitride films successfully were synthesized by RF-PACVD

  • The crystallization behavior of poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET) /ethylene-methyl acrylate-glycidyl methacrylate copolymer (E-MeA-GMA) blend was studied. The extent of reaction and the reaction rate between PET and E-MeA-GMA were measured with torque rheometer, FT-IR and SEM. The effects of the grafting reaction on the crystallization behavior were investigated with DSC and time-resolved light scattering (TR-LS) techniques. The morphological change at the lamellar level was also examined by using a small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) method.
