  • The objectives of the research were to modify and validate a daily water balance model, DIROM, for irrigation reservoirs using field data, and to estimate daily water supply from the reservoirs in the Han river basin. Modified DIROM was applied to three test sites, and validated with field data. The relative errors between the simulated and observed water supply were less than 10 percent. Historical records on daily or ten-day’s storage for 110 reservoirs from the twenty Farmland Improvement Associations, FIA were collected and used to estimate the daily water supply during 1993 to 1997. The results were applied to the other 723 reservoirs that are not owned by FIA. The five-year averaged annual water supply from the reservoirs was estimated to be 180 million ㎥/yr. Maximum yearly water supply was recorded to be 190 million ㎥/yr in 1996.

  • A microdialysis coupled flow injection amperometric biosensor was calibrated to measure the concentration of glucose using 7 standard samples from 10ml to 70ml of glucose solution. The output of the sensor increased linearly with an increase in the glucose concentration with an $R^2$ correlation of 0.99. The amperometric biosensor was then applied to measure the. glucose concentration of 2 commercial samples(Orange and Pineapple juice) and the results compared with HPLC. Around 12% error was observed in glucose concentration measurements of the samples analyzed. The sensor has potential in rapid measurement once the calibration is done. Potential for on-line sensing is also discussed.

  • In this study, pyrocatechol violet (Pcv) is proposed for the first time as an efficient electrocatalyst for oxidation of sulfide and flow injection analysis (FIA) of sulfide. A graphite pencil electrode (GPE) was modified with Pcv via immersion of the GPE into 0.01 M Pcv solution for 15 min. Cyclic voltammograms (CVs) demonstrated that Pcv/GPE exhibits a good electrocatalytic performance due to shift in the potential from +400 at bare GPE to +70 mV at Pcv/GPE and obtaining an enhancement in the peak current compared with the bare GPE. A linear range between 0.25 and 250 μM sulfide with a detection limit of 0.07 μM was obtained from the recorded current-time curves in Flow Injection Analysis (FIA) of sulfide. Sulfide in water samples was also successfully determined using the proposed FI amperometric methods.

  • An automated flow injection analysis apparatus manufactured economically was used in the automatic measurement of E. col growth in shake-flask culture of nutrient broth. The detailed measurement of whole growth was possible at intervals of 10 minutes by the automatic measurement system which adopted the sterilized nutrient broth as a carrier solution. Using distilled water as a carrier solution showed less accurate results than nutrient broth.

  • A method for determination of ammonia-N in environmental water by air-segmented flow injection analysis using the colour reaction of phenol and sodium hypochlorite with ammonia was described in this paper. When the reaction temperature is $70^{\circ}C$ and the reaction residence time is 5 minutes, a sample frequency of $60-90h^{-1}$ can be achieved. The detection limit and relative deviation are $0.05mg.ml^{-1}$ and 4%, respectively. The recovery of this method is 96 - 110%, and the determination results of the method are greatly agreement with standard colorimetric method.

  • Flow injection analysis technique for monitoring of xylitol concentrations in biological processes has been developed using xylitol oxidase (XYO) immobilized on VA-Epoxy Biosynth carrier. The immobilized XYO cartridge has been integrated into a FIA system with an oxygen electrode and systematically investigated with regards to the factors which can affect the activity of the immobilized XYO, such as pH, temperature, salt concentration etc. The activity of the immobilized XYO increased with the temperature ($19.0 - 29.0^{circ}C$) and sample injection volume ($75-250\muL$) and molarity of potassium phosphate buffer (0.1-1 M), but it reached the highest value at pH 8.5. The XYO-FIA system has been also applied for on-line monitoring of xylitol concentrations in a reactor and showed good operational stability and agreement with off-line data measured with HPLC.

  • Ion-selective eleltrodes(ISEs) are simple electrodechemical devices for the direct measurement of ions in the samples. A novel potentiometric biosensor for the determination of L-Malate or D-isocitrate has been developed by using CO2-3 -ISE-FIA system was composed of a pump, an injector, a malic enzyme or isocitric dehydrogenase enzyme reactor, a CO2-3 -ISE, a pH/mV meter, and an integrater. The various factors, such as buffer capacity types of plstericizer and polymer, were optimized for the CO2-3 selectivity. In this novel CO2-3 --ISE-FIA system, the potential difference due to the amount of CO2-3 produced from each enzyme reaction was proportional to the amount of L-malate or D-isocitrate.

  • Future Internet has been designing and developing in the world because of overcoming limits of current Internet and accepting new requirements. Therefore it is totally different from architectures of current Internet and it is based on Clean-Slate. Future Internet already has been studying with enormous investment by advanced countries such as USA, EU etc. Technical characteristics of Future Internet can be categorized into Infra techniques, Architectures and Service techniques. Especially, our country is in a superior position in Infra techniques and Service techniques. We can have competitiveness to develop trust communication in Future Internet because we have advantages of various Services such as mobile communication, Machine to Machine and Sensor Networks. This paper aims to analysis reference model of trust communication in Future Internet. To achieve this, we studied analysis of security techniques in four Future Internet researches of NSF.

  • A rapid and sequential method was studied, which can determine nitrite, nitrate and ammonium ion in soil or water samples with flow injection analysis. Geometric factors including injection volume, length of the reaction coil and flow rate of carrier solution were investigated prior to sample measurement. Nitrite was determined at 540 nm by Griess reaction producing azo dye between N-(1-naphthylethylenediamine dihydrochloride) and sulfanilamide. Nitrate was also measured under the help of reduction mechanism toward nitrite with hydrazine. Ammonium was analyzed at 440 nm with Nessler's reagent. At the optimum condition, the detection limit(S/N=3) has been shown 0.1 ㎍/mL N(NO2-), 0.4 ㎍/mL N(NO3-) and 0.3 ㎍/mL N(NH4+) respectively. The results measured by colorimetry, ion chromatography and FIA were compared showing 80%-125% reasonable match each other. Injection throughput rate could be performed better than 30 times per hour.
