  • 인터넷전화 서비스의 원활한 제공을 위해 세계 여러 국가와 표준화 기구에서는 E911과 같은 긴급통신서비스 제공을 위한 정책 수립 및 기술표준화 활동을 수행하고 있다. 2005년 5월 미국 FCC가 인터넷전화 사업자의 E911 서비스 제공을 촉구하는 결정을 내린 바 있으며, 캐나다, 유럽, 아시아 등에서도 관련 정책을 마련하고 있다. IP 기반의 긴급통신서비스 제공과 관련된 표준화 활동은 IETF의 여러 WG과 NENA, TIA, ITUT등의 기구에서 진행되고 있으며, 특히 IETF ecrit WG에서는 인터넷 기술을 이용한 비상 호 라우팅을 위한 요구사항 개발 관련 작업이 이루어질 예정이다. 본 문서에서는 이와 같은 세계 여러 국가와 기구의 정책 및 표준화 활동을 비롯하여, 911 서비스를 제공하는 것으로 밝히고 있는 해외 인터넷전화사업자의 서비스 제공 동향에 대해 살펴본다.

Design and Implementation of Power Amplifier for Digital TV Translator (디지털 TV 중계기용 전력증폭기의 설계 및 구현)

  • 본 논문에서는 90W/sub avg/급 디지털 TV 중계기에 사용되는 140W/sub avg/급 전력증폭기를 설계 및 구현하였다. 중계기 규격의 기반이 되는 미국 FCC(Federal Communications Commission) 의 규격과 KBS(한국방송공사)가 제시하는 사양에 적합한 전력증폭기의 설계 및 구현을 목표로 하였다. 전력증폭기는 4단으로 구성하였으며, 전치증폭기는 A 급, 구동증폭기와 종단증폭기는 AB 급으로 동작시켰다. 구동증폭기에서는 3W/sub avg/의 출력을 얻었으며, 3 개의 전력증폭용 모듈이 병렬 연결된 종단증폭기에서는 140W/sub avg/ 의 출력을 얻을 수 있었다. 사용주파수의 대역을 넓히고 입력 및 출력의 VSWR 을 개선시키기 위하여 발룬과 sage wireline coupler 를 이용하여 전력증폭용 모듈을 설계하였다. 모든 전력증폭용 모듈은 방송용 전력증폭기의 규격사양인 isolator 로 종단 처리하여, 종단 임피던스의 갑작스런 변화시에도 장비가 보호될 수 있도록 설계하였다.

The DCP HS and BS transceivers are composed of five systems, including the RF/IF unit, the Analog Front End(AFE), the baseband modem, the voice codec and the micro-controller.   • SMPS는 스위칭을 통해 전력을 변환하므로 높은 dv/dt 및 di/dt 특성을 갖게 된다. 이러한 스위칭특성으로 인해 발생하는 EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) 노이즈는 기기 내부 또는 외부에 간섭을 일으킨다. 미국의 FCC (Federal Communications Commission) 및 유럽 의 CISPR(International Special Committee on Radio Interference) 등의 규정을 만족시키기 위해서 전도성 노이즈에 대한 충분한 이해와 해석이 필요하다. 본 연구는 SMPS에서의 EMI/EMC 대책 구현에 앞서, 전도성노이즈의 기본개념 및 발생/결합 경로를 분석하고 실제로 노이즈를 측정한다. 측정을 위해 Boost 컨버터가 제작/사용된다.

Interference Cancellation On-Channel Regenerative Repeater Laboratory Test for ATSC Terrestrial Broadcasting (ATSC 지상파 방송을 위한 간섭제거 동일 채널 재생 중계기 성능평가)

  • This paper presents and analyzes laboratory test results of Interference Cancellation Digital On Channel Regenerative Repeater(IC-DOCR) to broadcast digital television signals in the Advanced Television Systems Committee(ATSC) transmission systems using single frequency networks(SFN). IC-DOCR laboratory test is classified to receiver test, transmitter test, and feedback interference cancellation test. The receiver part includes random noise, single echo, multi-path ensembles, and adjacent channel interference test. The transmitter part includes out-of channel emission, equality of transmitting signal, and phase noise test. By the laboratory test, the receiver part of the IC-DOCR eliminates 28dB of feedback signal higher than the received signal and has 17.8dB at TOV(Threshold Of Visibility) under random noise environment. Also, the transmitter part satisfies the specification of US FCC(Federal Communications Commission) as well as maintains good output signal quality for guaranteeing more than SNR 30dB.

Requirements for 6 GHz Unlicensed Bands (6 GHz 비면허 대역 이용을 위한 기술기준)

  • Federal Communications Commissions (FCC) has adopted a new rule that can provide a 1,200 MHz unlicensed spectrum to maximize the public benefits in the 5.925 ~ 7.125 GHz(6 GHz) band by expanding unlicensed broadband into the 6 GHz band while also ensuring that licensed services that operate in the band continue to thrive. In Korea, the M/W band of 6 GHz has been reallocated to introduce unlicensed services in the 6 GHz band. Considering the national interests, the entire 1,200 MHz will be supplied for the indoor uses, but only the 500 MHz of the lower bandwidth (5925 ~ 6425 MHz) will for the outdoor uses under the limited power to protect the incumbent services. The introduction of unlicensed devices is being actively promoted through the reallocation of the 6 GHz M/W band, but since it is desperately necessary to prepare technical requirements to operate them in Korea. In this paper, the US 6 GHz unlicensed rules has been analyzed, these results will be utilized for establishing Korean technical standards with the unlicensed spectrum expansion.

Interference Temperature based Frequency Sharing Scheme for Multiple Cognitive Radio Users (간섭 온도 기만의 다중 Cognitive Radio 사용자를 위한 주파수 공유 방안)

  • In this paper, we investigate a spectrum sharing scheme based on the interference temperature (IT), that is a recently introduced receiver-centric metric by FCC. We extend the existing frequency sharing procedure for single CR to the one for multiple CRs (or secondary users, SUs). In the proposed interference model, we consider the practical operating characteristics of primary users (PUs), stochastically activated (ON)/deactivated (OFF) at the time axis, and analyze quantitatively the CR user capacity based on the model. We define the instantaneous capacity for idle time-slot channel allocation and the mean capacity averaging this instantaneous capacity and use them for a proper frequency sharing. Apart from existing schemes, the proposed frequency sharing scheme changes the frequency parameters adaptively depending on the channel characteristics and does not need any sensing information from PUs. Through computer simulation, we verify the proposed model.

Implementation of Linear Power Amplifier with 1.9 GHz for PCS Basestation (1.9 GHZ PCS 기지국용 선형 전력증폭기의 제작)

  • In this paper, We designed and implemented a linear high-power amplifier which can be used for the commercial service in band of $1.9GHz(1.93{\sim}1.99GHz)$ at U.S.A. The output power of the implemented linear high power amplifier is 25W. In order to satisfy IMD characters decided by FCC, the Feedforward linearization techniques has been used. The used feedforward method has improved the IMD characteristics from 10.51dBc to 19.01dBc in each power level from 1W(30dBm) to 25W(44dBm). The IMD level of the final output shows from minimum 64.84dBc to maximum 68.17dBc. Because this good characteristics of IMD, the LPA is expected to use as a commercial product of PCS base station.

  • FCC of U.S. permitted usage of unlicensed system on unused spectrum in TV white space after DTV transition. The unlicensed systems are required to avoid harmful interference to licensed users by employing geo-location database and spectrum sensing. The conventional spectrum sensing algorithms for ATSC signal were focused on detection of pilot signal. However, they can not guarantee detection of ATSC signal when pilot signal is attenuated by channel environment such as fading. To overcome drawbacks of conventional schemes, in this paper, we propose a signal detection and data fusion algorithm using cyclo-stationary feature weighted by signal energy. Simulation results verify that the proposed algorithm can provide 2dB SNR gain for 90% detection probability compare with the conventional scheme. We can reduce quiet period for spectrum sensing and improve signal detection probability by employing the proposed algorithm.

A Study on Experiment of Transmission Power Assignment for Indoor TVWS Wireless Communication System (실내 TVWS 무선통신을 위한 송신 전력 설정 실험에 관한 연구)

  • To overcome a scarcity of radio resources to mobile broadband service, the usage of TV white space gains much attraction around the world. This paper carries out an interference analysis either by performing realistic experiments or by executing statistical Monte-Carlo simulation to exploit interference probability. The results obtained from experiments are compared to those from simulations in order to clarify the coexistence of utilization of TV band devices (TVBD) in indoor circumstances. Along the execution of our experiment in the presence of DTV receiver, we apply to a variety of transmission parameters proposed in FCC for TVBD. According to experimental and simulation works, the allowable transmission powers of TVBD systems are exploited for the plausible which are coexist on the first as well as the second adjacent frequency bands. Throughout results, it can conclude that TVBD systems can be coexisted via achieving proper transmission powers depending on the locations of themselves without showing harmful interference to DTV reception.
