Objective: The aim was to identify the inhibitory effects of Flos Bombacis Malabarici(FBM) on Monosodium Urate (MSU)-induced gout in rats. Materials and Methods: After pretreatment of FBM I (50mg/kg), FBM II (125mg/kg) for seven days followed by injection of MSU solution, the various indicators related to gout were measured, such as hematological and serum levels and including joint inflammation. Also, it was investigated whether FBM directly inhibits the activity of xanthine oxidase in vitro. Results: As a result of this study, FBM didn't show the cytotoxicity in Jurkat cells, but it showed significant inhibition of activity of xanthine oxidase in vitro. FBM slightly inhibited joint inflammation induced by MSU though not with statistical significance. FBM partially decreased MSU-induced AST, ALT, BUN, creatinine, WBC, ESR elevation and significantly decreased MSU-induced uric acid in serum. Conclusion: These results suggest that FBM has therapeutic effects that are applicable to prevention and treatment of gout. and should be further investigated.
We apply IEEE 802.3 frame burst mode (FBM) to the Ethernet passive optical network (EPON) downstream link and compare its performance with non-frame burst mode for various traffic patterns. Although in light traffic loads (p<0.5) the efficiency of the FBM mechanism is not significant, it does feature high throughput, small jitter, low queue occupancy, and short queuing delay in optical line terminals under various traffic loads with various numbers of optical network units (ONUs). The FBM performance always approaches that of full-duplex mode, especially under heavy traffic loads (p>0.5). Moreover, an increase in number of ONUs will decrease the burst performance. Our work shows that FBM scheme is very useful for EPON transmission and has low design complexity.

We consider an unlimited fluid queueing model which has Fractional Brownian motion(FBM) as an input and a single server of constant service rate. By using the result of Duffield and O'Connell(6), we investigate the asymptotic tail-distribution of the stationary work-load. When there are multiple homogeneous FBM inputs, the workload distribution is similar to that of the queue with one FBM input; whereas for the heterogeneous sources the asymptotic work-load distributions is dominated by the source with the largest Hurst parameter.

This study deals with exploring qualitative steps and paths that appear as YouTube users' usage time increases quantitatively. For the study, I applied theories from psychology and neuroscience, subdivided the interval between the personalization algorithm of the recommendation system, and active use and analyzed the relationship between variables in this process. According to the theory behavioral model theory (FBM), variable reward, and dopamine addiction were applied. Personalization algorithms easy clicks as triggers according to associated content presentation functions in behavioral model theory (FBM). Variable rewards increase motivational effectiveness with unpredictability of the content you search, and dopamine nation is summarized as stimulating the dopaminergic nerve to continuously and actively consume content. This study is expected to make an academic and practical contribution in that it divides the purpose of use of content in the personalization algorithm and active use section into four stages from a psychological perspective: first use, reuse, continuous use, and active use, and analyzes the path.

The effects of dietary supplementation with fermented blood meal (FBM) in two forms were evaluated on the growth performance, hematological parameters, innate immune response, antioxidant capacity, digestive enzyme activity and intestinal histology of Japanese eel Anguilla japonica. A commercial powder feed was used as a basal diet (Con). Six other diets were prepared by supplementing 2, 4 and 6% FBM either in powder or liquid form to the Con diet (designated as P2, P4, P6, L2, L4 and L6, respectively). In total 420 eels (initial mean body weight: 55.1±1.71 g) were distributed into 21 tanks (450L) at a density of 20 eels per tank. Three replicate groups of fish were fed one of the seven diets twice daily for 12 weeks. No significant differences were observed in the growth performance and survival among all groups. Fish fed FBM-containing diets showed significantly improved hematological parameters, innate immunity and antioxidant capacity than those in the Con group. Fish fed FBM-containing diets showed significantly enhanced digestive enzyme activity, villus length and goblet cells than those in fish fed Con diet. These results indicate that both powder and liquid FBM could be a good functional feed additive to improve innate immunity and digestion in Japanese eel.
In this paper, we proposed the 2-stage ultrasound liver image classifier which uses the fractal dimensions obtained from the original image and its 1/2 subsampled image, and the Normalized Fourier Power Spectrum. The fractal dimension based on Fractional Brownian Motion (FBM) is calculated from the variance of the same scale pixels instead of the mean of them. Since the actual ultrasound. liver images does not fully match the FBM, to get the fractal dimension, we use the scale vectors which satisfy the FBM model. In 2-stage classifier, we first classified normal and diffuse liver and then classified the fat liver and cirrhosis from the diffuse liver. For the test liver images. 70% of normal liver and 80% of fat liver and 90% of cirrhosis is classified classified with our 2-stage classifier.
Proximate, calcium, phosphorus and amino acid composition were determined for sardine fish meal (SM), herring fish meal (HM), anchovy fish meal (AM), alaskapolack by-product meal (ABM) and file fish by-product meal (FBM) produced domestically. These fish protein sources were fed to adult male of meat type (Waren G) broiler chicks to determine the true availability of amino acids. The true availability of essential amino acids were closely related to various fish meals with a few exceptions (e.g. valine, methionine, isoleucine and leucine). Average true availability of essential amino acids (9 amino acids) were 95, 93, 93, 91 and 91 percent for AM, SM, FBM; HM and ABM, respectively. Significant differences in the true availability of each individual amino acid were observed among fish meal tested (P<0.01). Lysine availability was low in HM, ABM and FBM whereas phenylalanine was the lowest in FBM and ABM, respectively. AM showed the highest true amino acid availability among all fish meal tested.
Recently, as the demand for secondary batteries for electric vehicles has rapidly increased, the efficient production of lithium compounds is attracting great attention. Bipolar membrane electrodialysis (BPED) is known as an eco-friendly, economical, and efficient electrochemical lithium compound production process. Since the efficiency of the BPED depends on the performance of the bipolar membrane (BPM), the selection of the BPM is very important. In this study, the characteristics of BPMs suitable for the BPED for electrochemical LiOH production were derived by comparative analyses of BP-1E (Astom) and FBM (Fumatech), which are the most widely used commercial BPMs in the world. Through systematical evaluation, it was confirmed that reducing membrane ion transfer resistance and co-ion leakage among the characteristics of BPM is the most important, and BP-1E has better performance than FBM in this respect.

The configuration of a musculoskeletal (MS) system is closely related to the individual motions of the human body. Many researches have been focused on evaluating the associations between the MS configuration and the individual motion using patient-specific MS models, but it still remains a challenging issue to accurately predict the motion by differed configurations of the MS system. The main objective of this paper is to predict the changes of a patient-specific gait by altering the geometric parameters of the hip joint using function-based morphing method (FBM). FBM is suitable for motion analysis since this method provide a robust way to morph a MS model while preserving the biomechanical functions of the bones. Computed-muscle control technique is used to calculate the muscle excitations to reproduce the targeted motion within a digital MS model without the motion-captured data. We applied this approach to a patient who has an abnormal gait pattern. Results showed that the femoral neck length and the angle significantly affect to the motion especially for the hip abduction angle during gait, and that this approach is suitable for gait prediction.
We study the weak convergence to Fractional Brownian motion and some examples with applications to traffic modeling. Finally, we get loss probability for queue-length distribution related to self-similar process.
