All respondents had significant experience with this type of store. • This study aims to derive the need for middle-aged women to consider using fashion product applications, styling, and personalized styling services. To analyze the fashion styling considerations of middle-aged women, 200 women in their 40s and 50s were surveyed. Middle-aged women usually tend to shop through home shopping, department stores, fashion soho (Small office home office) malls, and open market-type applications, and purchase fashion products more than two or three times a month, spending an average of less than 50,000 won per month. Middle-aged women consider choosing appropriate clothing based on the occasion and place, complementing the flaws of the changed body type as well as taking into account the weather in the styling process, and seek to showcase a sophisticated, luxurious, and youthful image through styling. However, they are confused and face difficulties in fashion styling, with regard to not only overall body shape but also partial body changes, such as increasing waistline, flabby thighs and arms, and decreasing hip volume. In addition, middle-aged women were looking for expert advice on styling to help them look the best. They also wanted to solve the difficulties of making a right choice amid the overflowing information related to fashion. The results of the study contribute to identifying products that meet the needs of middle-aged women and help develop detailed consumer-tailored marketing strategies, thereby improving sales of fashion products.

There were significant differences among the fashion lifestyle groups on five criteria (latest fashion, price, commonality with existing clothing, size, and the distance to the store) out of the 13 criteria. The display/brand oriented group showed high scores on the latest fashion and size. The active profit-seeking group generally showed high scores on all five factors. The fashion oriented group showed high scores on latest fashion and commonality with existing clothing when buying clothes. Finally, the tradition oriented group showed high scores only on the distance to the shop, while they (the tradition oriented group) showed low scores on the other criteria. The examination on the actual conditions of clothing purchase among fashion lifestyle groups showed that only the monthly expenditure for clothing is significantly different. • The purpose of this study is to find trends in new media fashion content by analyzing the fashion content of the official Instagram accounts of domestic fashion magazines that are being transformed by digital media. The framework for these analysis of fashion content type and methods of production is based on one used in an earlier research project. Empirical analysis is conducted on Vogue Korea's official Instagram accounts, using the highest number of major views as the secondary measure of interest. After screening for fashion content in posts on the Vogue Korea account for four months, 291 short video postings were extracted to analyze the number of views the postings received. The results were categorized as 'star', 'show/exhibition', 'product', 'shop', 'fashion film', 'designer', or 'event', included in the data are the number of postings by type and the number of views by post. Based on the characteristics of the creator and the editing, the posts were classified into 'professional production highlight', 'professional production private', 'UCC' or 'GIF' videos, the number of views per post were also collected. The research results show different levels of interest depending on the type of fashion content, and also on the way the videos were produced. The study also investigated how the combination of these two factors affects interest. When producing a new media fashion content, combining a 'star' type post with 'professional production private' video content was most popular. The selection of production method is therefore important even given the same type of content.

  • This case study investigates fashion brands that have entered the pet fashion market. A total of 25 cases were identified and analyzed from three perspectives: 1) product types, size systems, prices, 2) design aspects, fabrics, patterns, styles, and 3) marketing strategies. The study results are as follows. First, the product types of pet fashion are not diverse, and only the sizes of small dogs can be found. However, there is a significant price difference between brands. Second, knitted fabrics with good elasticity are mainly used for pet fashion products, and patterns incorporating their brands are extremely common. The style is casual and sporty. Third, marketing strategies should include a new line within a brand or launch a single specialized brand as a one-shot test for consumer reaction. Additionally, it has been expanded and presented as a family look to meet the needs of the petfam. Further, existing fashion brands and retail-based brands select diverse small-scale dog fashion product brands and expand their operation as a dog lifestyle total selectional shop. Therefore, brands entering the future should consider strategies such as size segmentation, product diversification, and premium price of high-quality materials that help market products such as the expansion or promotion of existing brands.
