푸라졸리돈의 누에병치료약으로서의 응용가능성에 관한 연구 (제1보) (Studies on the Applicability of Furazolidone to the Silkworm Rearing Industry as a Useful Remedy for Certain Silkworm Diseases (Report I))

  • 본인은 1972년 춘잠기와 추잠기에 걸쳐서 서울대학교농과대학 잠실에서 FZD의 누에병치료약으로서의 응용가능성을 검토한바 있다. 첫째로 FZD의 누에에의 경구적투약이 가능함을 알아낸 본인은 FZD의 4가지 누에병병원체 (Bacillus thuringiensis, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus oryzae, Isaria farinosa)에 대한 시험관내 항균력 측정, B.thuringiensis 로써 일으킨 실험적연화병에 대한 FZD의 발병억제효과 내지는 치료효과 관찰 등 일련의 실험을 거쳐, FZD은 실험적세균성연화병에 대해서 발병 억제효과와 치료효과를 겸해서 발휘한다는 기본적 사실을 밝혔다. 즉, 푸라졸리돈은 시험관내항균력측정에 있어서 세균성 연화병의 병원체인 Bacillus thuringiensis에 대해서는 시험관법으로써는 1$\mu\textrm{g}$/mι의 농도로써 그리고 한천평판법으로써는 $\mu\textrm{g}$/mι의 농도로써 완전한 발육억제효과를 발휘했으며, 한편 B. thuringiensis가 접종된 5령기 누에에 대해서는 잠정적인 용량인 누에 10마리당 150mg. 비율의 용량(누에체액 1ml당 약 2.2mg. 비율의 용량)에 있어서 1일 1회색 2일(2회)투여할 때 거의 완전한발병억제효과와 상당히 좋은 치료효과를 발휘했다. FZD의 임상적 응용에 따르는 용량, 투약시기, 제제형태 등의 여러가지 문제는 앞으로 세밀히 검토되어야 할 것으로 안다.

Glass Transition Behavior of Dendritic Polymers Containing Mobile Aliphatic Polyether Cores and Glassy Peripheral Polystyrenes

  • We investigated the glass transition temperatures ($T_g$) of dendrons consisting of conformationally mobile aliphatic polyether dendritic cores plus glassy peripheral polystyrenes (PSs), and linear PSs in the molecular weight range of 1000-8500 g/mol. We compared their $T_g$ behavior depending on their polymeric architecture. The linear PSs show a typical growth of $T_g$ up to 92.5 ${^{\circ}C}$ as the molecular weight increases to 8300 g/mol, while the dendrons display nearly constant $T_g$ values of 58-61 ${^{\circ}C}$, despite the increase of molecular weight with each generation. The striking contrast of Tg behavior would be mainly attributed to the fact that the dendrons keep the ratio of $N_e$/M ($N_e$: number of peripheral chain ends, M: molecular weight) over all the generations. Additionally, for the influence of dendritic spacers on glass transition temperature we prepared dimeric PSs with different linkage groups such as aliphatic ether, ester and amide bonds. We found that the dimer with the ether spacer exhibited the lowest glass transition at 55.4 ${^{\circ}C}$, while the amide linked dimer showed the highest glass transition temperature at 74.2 ${^{\circ}C}$. This indicates that the peripheral PS chains are effectively decoupled by the conformationally flexible ether spacer. The results from this study demonstrated that polymeric architecture and dendritic core structures play a crucial role in the determination of glass transition behavior, providing a strategy for the systematic engineering of polymer chain mobility.

Genetic Polymorphism of MDM2 SNP309 in Patients with Helicobacter Pylori-Associated Gastritis

  • Background: Helicobacter pylori plays an important role in gastric cancer, which has a relatively low inciduence in Thailand. MDM2 is a major negative regulator of p53, the key tumor suppressor involved in tumorigenesis of the majority of human cancers. Whether its expression might explain the relative lack of gastric cancer in Thailand was assessed here. Materials and Methods: This single-center study was conducted in the northeast region of Thailand. Gastric mucosa from 100 patients with Helicobacter pylori associated gastritis was analyzed for MDM2 SNP309 using real-time PCR hybridization (light-cycler) probes. Results: In the total 100 Helicobacter pylori associated gastritis cases the incidence of SNP 309 T/T homozygous was 78 % with SNP309 G/T heterozygous found in 19% and SNP309 G/G homozygous in 3%. The result show SNP 309 T/T and SNP 309 G/T to be rather common in the Thai population. Conclusions: Our study indicates that the MDM2 SNP309 G/G homozygous genotype might be a risk factor for gastric cancer in Thailand and the fact that it is infrequent could explain to some extent the low incidence of gastric cancer in the Thai population.

다중비 신호처리에 적용한 선형 주기적 시변 시스템의 입출력 이득 (Input-Output Gains of Linear Periodic Time-Varying Systems with Applications to Multirate Signal Processing)

  • 본 논문에서는, 선형 주기적 시변 시스템에 대해서, 두 개의 입출력 이득을 정의한다. 그 하나는 단위 크기의 ι$_2$노름을 갖는 모든 입력에 대한 최악의 $\iota_2$ 노름의 출력의 비로서, G($\iota_2,\iota_2$ 로 표기한다. 또 다른 하나는 단위 크기의 RMS 값을 갖는 모든 입력에 대한 최악의 RMS 값의 출력의 비로서, G(RMS, RMS)로 표기한다. 선형 시불변 시스템에 대해서는 이 두 개의 이득은 등가라는 사실이 잘 알려져 있다. 본 논문에서는 선형 주기적 시변 시스템에 대해서도 이 두 개의 이득이 등가라는 것을 증명한다. 또한, 선형 주기적 시변 시스템에 대한 주파수 응답을 얻는 두 가지 방법 사이의 관계를 유도한다. 이렇게 정의된 입출력 이득은 M-채널 필터 뱅크에 적용한다. 필터 뱅크는 음성 압축 등에 사용되는 대표적인 다중비 신호처리 시스템이다. 이러한 필터뱅크에는 일반적으로 에일리어징 왜곡, 진폭 왜곡 및 위상 왜곡이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 오차 시스템의 G($\iota_2,\iota_2$ 이득을 최적화 하는 방법에 의해 필터 뱅크를 설계함으로써, 필터 뱅크에서 일반적으로 존재하는 왜곡을 작게할 수 있음을 보인다.

균체고정화 생물반응기에서 산소공급에 의한 에탄올 생산성 향상 (Enhancement of Ethanol Productivity by Air Supplement in Immobilized Cell Reactor System)

  • 고생산성의 알콜 발효용 생물반응기를 개발하기 위하여 sodium alginate로 효모균체를 고정화시킨 후 충전탑 반응기를 제조하였다. 이 때 gel속에 고정화되어 있는 세포에 산소를 공급하기 위하여 배지를 공기로 포화시킨 후 공급하였다. 그 결과 9% 포도당을 함유한 배지를 사용하였을 경우 최대 알콜생산성은 35g/$\ell$-gel-hr에서 55g/$\ell$-gel-hr로 증가되었고 90%의 전환율을 얻는데 걸리는 시간도 40분에서 25분으로 감소되었다. 즉 고정화세포 충전탑 반응기에서도 배지에 어느 정도의 산소를 공급하면 세포활성의 증가로 발효속도가 현저히 촉진됨을 알 수 있었다.

대장균 배양에서의 유기산 생성과 투석배양에 관한 연구 (A Study of Organic Acid Formation and Dialysis Culture in E. coli Fermentation)

  • 초산이온이 대장균 성장을 저해하는 현상을 규명 하기 위해서 M9 배지, LB 배지를 사용해서 플라스 크, 발효조 배양을 수행하였다. 대장균의 초산 생성 은 높은 포도당 초기 농도, LB 배지와 같은 복합 배 지에서 활발하였고, 플라스크 배양과 같은 pH 조절 이 되지 않는 배양방법에셔는 초산의 생성에 따른 pH 감소에 따라 세포성장이 많이 저해되었다. 초산 을 외부에서 첨가하여 세포성장에 마치는 영향을 조 사하여 보았는데 LB 배지를 사용한 플라스크 배양 에서는 첨가된 초산의 농도가 2g/l 이상, M9 배지 를 사용한 플라스크 배양에서는 초산의 농도가 4g/l 이상, 그리고 M9 배지를 사용한 발효조 배양에 셔는 8g/l 이상에서 초산의 성장 저해효과가 나타 다. LB 한천 배지를 볕에 깐 LB 액체 배지의 플라스 크 배양을 수행하였다. LB 한천의 양이 증가함에 따라서 한천에서 포도당의 방출이 일어나 최종 대장 균 세포 O.D.가 증가하였다.

인과립구 콜로니 자극인자 제제인 HM10411와 필그라스팀의 정맥, 근육 및 피하 주사시 흰쥐와 마우스에서의 약물 동태 (Pharmacokinetics of Recombinant Human Granulocyte Colony Stimulating Factor (rhG-CSF) Following Intravenous, Intramuscular and Subcutaneous Administration of HM10411 and Filgrastim to Rats and Mice)

  • The pharmacokinetics of recombinant human granulocyte colony stimulating factor (rhG-CSF) following intravenous (i.v.), intramuscular (i.m.) and subcutaneous (s.c.) administration of HM1041l-lyo and HM10411-liq (lyophilized and liquid formulations of rhG-CSF, recently under development by Hanmi Pharmaceutical Company) were studied in rats, and compared with that of Filgrastim (conventional formulation of rhG-CSF on market). The plasma concentration of rhG-CSF was quantified using a specific ELISA. The pharmacokinetic parameters of rhG-CSF, after i.v., i.m. and s.c. administration of Filgrastim, HM1041l-lyo and HM1041l-liq to rats at a rhG-CSF dose of $10\;{\mu}g/kg$, were almost identical among the three formulations. No dose-dependency was observed in the pharmacokinetic parameters of rhG-CSF following i.v. administration in the dose range of $5{\sim}100\;{\mu}g/kg$. rhG-CSF, after i.v. administration of the three preparations at a dose of $10\;{\mu}g/kg$ to rats, was detected at low levels in all of the body tissues with highest tissue/plasma ratio of $0.46{\sim}0.51$ for the kidney at 30 min after the administration. The pharmacokinetics of rhG-CSF, after i.v. administration to mice at a dose of $10\;{\mu}g/kg$, were comparable among the three formulations. In conclusion, HM10411-lyo and HM10411-liq exhibited similar pharmacokinetics for rhG-CSF with Filgrastim regandless of animal species. Considering the fact that HM10411 series, contrary to Filgrastim, are proteins lacking a methionine residue, the methionine moiety in rhG-CSF molecule does not appear to influence the pharmacokinetics of the protein significantly.

Soil Organic Carbon of Soil Series from 2003 to 2010 in Korea

  • Soil organic carbon (SOC) of soil series is necessary to calculate soil C sequestration due to IPCC default categorized by climate regions and by soil types. The 3,400 thousand data were downloaded from agricultural soil information system and analyzed to get averages of soil order, soil series, and textual family for the three different soil management practices in Korea. The SOC content was $13.3{\pm}5.38g\;kg^{-1}$ in paddy field, $13.7{\pm}7.19g\;kg^{-1}$ in upland field, and $15.2{\pm}8.22g\;kg^{-1}$ in orchard soil, respectively. As SOC in orchard was 10% greater than that in upland, orchard must be managed with applying compost. The SOCs of inceptisols, which was largely distributed in Korea, were $13.6{\pm}5.48g\;kg^{-1}$ in paddy field, $14.1{\pm}7.38g\;kg^{-1}$ in upland field, and $15.3{\pm}8.20g\;kg^{-1}$ in orchard soil, respectively. The SOCs of alfisols were $13.6{\pm}4.96g\;kg^{-1}$ in paddy field, $13.7{\pm}6.99g\;kg^{-1}$ in upland field, and $15.6{\pm}8.59g\;kg^{-1}$ in orchard soil, respectively. The SOCs of entisols were $11.7{\pm}5.16g\;kg^{-1}$ in paddy field, $12.8{\pm}7.05g\;kg^{-1}$ in upland field, and $13.7{\pm}7.81g\;kg^{-1}$ in orchard soil, respectively. The SOCs of ultisols were $12.7{\pm}4.79g\;kg^{-1}$ in paddy field, $12.7{\pm}6.22g\;kg^{-1}$ in upland field, and $16.3{\pm}8.49g\;kg^{-1}$ in orchard soil, respectively. The fact that soils containing greater clay content in textual family had also more SOC content revealed that SOC could be also dependent on some soil properties as well as soil order. Because SOC differences among soil series representing same textual family were greater than those among textual family, SOC differences should be mainly affected by management practices such as compost application.

Ingestive Behavior and Nitrogen Balance of Confined Santa Ines Lambs Fed Diets Containing Soybean Hulls

  • The objective of this study was to assess the effect of substituting corn with soybean hulls on the ingestive behavior and nitrogen balance of Santa Ines lambs. A total of 25 lambs with an initial body weight of $20{\pm}2$ kg at approximately six months of age, sheltered individually in stalls ($1.10m{\times}1.0m$), considering an entirely casual experimental delineation. Soybean hulls were substituted for corn at 0, 250, 500, 750, and 1,000 g/kg of dry matter (DM). The time spent feeding, ruminating, masticating, and resting was not affected by the substitution of corn with soybean hulls. In fact, the feeding efficiency in g DM/h and the rumination efficiency in g DM/bolus increased linearly with soybean hull substitution in the feed. Although the nitrogen balance was not altered by the use of soybean hulls as a substitute for corn in the diets of Santa Ines lambs, the N ingested and N digested expressed in g/d, N retained as a percentage of that ingested, and N retained as a percentage of that digested displayed quadratic behavior. In conclusion, corn can be substituted with soybean hulls up to 1,000 g/kg of dry matter in the concentrate, without changing the ingestive behavior and nitrogen balance.

Passive Design Elements in the Architectural Planning of the Public Libraries - Focusing on the Comparison between Site and Building in the G-SEED Pre-certified and Non-certified library -

  • Purpose: The definition and factors of passive design being the sustainable method of building plan through the preceding research is deducted and the effect of passive design within the public library by applying the deducted factors in the case of built public libraries and further the realization plan of green library aimed to be reviewed in this research. Method: This study is to induce common elements of architecture plan for public library and passive design, and assess application level of re-classified elements of sustainable public library in order to analyze present condition of passive design applied on facilities of public library. First, related laws and planning standards of public library will be reviewed, then the definition of passive design will be considered using advanced research. Through advanced research related to planing elements and passive design for library induced from various plans for library standards, a common ground of induced passive design element will be transformed into assessment items and practices to be analyzed. Result: Libraries which are and are not preliminarily certified by G-SEED will be compared with each other in order to analyze the effects of passive design on G-SEED. Even though various passive elements such as load reduction of air conditioning and energy efficiency exist, there are no assessment tool within G-SEED. The fact that there are only standards for temporary methods such as utilization of construction material and installation of equipment highlights the challenges in quantitative evaluation.
