  • In this paper, in order to develop a remote progress management system through the Internet, we show a design method to make easy maintenance by developing the system with both the JAVA language and GoF Design Patterns. For the system implementation, we added the RS232C and RS422/RS485 communication modules to PLC(Programmable Logic Controller) in the control box which provide the real time status data of machines. Also we set up the RS232C to Ethernet converter based on wireless environment to communicate the PLC control data. We use JAVA Swing components to implement the multi-tier architecture system supported the GUI of the Applet and Frame at the same time so that the manager grasps the progress of work easily at the remote machines through the Internet. The key objective of the multi-tier architecture is to share resources among clients, this proposed system can help to develop the software to control the remote machine, and also it has the advantage that developer who wants to make a similar software can make easy to add new function reusing the existing codes.

  • We tried to analyze the growth time for secretion of the iron containing superoxide dismutase by comparing the intra-and extracellular enzyme activity from Streptomyces subrutilus P5 and analyze possible genetic information for this enzyme secretion. The mycelial dry weights and glucose concentrations in culture filtrates were determined during growth. Glucose was consumed rapidly during logarithmic growth phase and almost exhausted at 24 h of cultivation. While the intracellular activity of iron containing superoxide dismutase was first appeared at three hours, the extracellular activity of this enzyme appeared from 7.5 h of cultivation, early logarithmic growth phase. This early presence of the superoxide dismutase might not be the result of cell lysis but active secretion pathway. There was no information for signal peptide responsible for the enzyme secretion in sodF. However, we found a type three secretion box in the promoter region of sodF that has been known for the genes of type III secreted proteins in other bacteria. This is the first report on the possible existence of type III secretion in Streptomyces.

  • Neutron single crystal and powder diffraction techniques have been applied to the structure analysis of yttria-stabilized zirconium, Z $r_{0.73}$ $Y_{0.27}$ $O_{1.87}$., prepared by the skull-melting method. The crystal structure has been determined to be cubic symmetry, space group Fm/equation omitted/ with a=5.155(2)$\AA$, V=136.99(5)$\AA$, Z=4, and R(F)=5.65%, $\omega$R(I)=10.57% for 70 integrated intensities of Bragg Peaks observed from single crystal of Z $r_{0.73}$ $Y_{0.27}$ $O_{1.87}$. The stabilizer atoms randomly occupy the zirconium sites and there are displacements of oxygen atoms with amplitudes of $\Delta$/a~0.033 and 0.11 along <110> and <100> directions from the ideal positions of the fluorite structure, respectively. There are no significant differences in crystallographic data between the single crystal and powder studies. Diffraction pattern after Rietveld refinement, using neutron powder data, has shown the evidence of a tetragonal impurity phase, or a slight tetragonal distortion.

  • The characteristics of steady two-dimensional laminar boundary layer flow of a viscous and incompressible fluid past a moving wedge with suction or injection are theoretically investigated. The transformed boundary layer equations are solved numerically using an implicit finite-difference scheme known as the Keller-box method. The effects of Falkner-Skan power-law parameter (m), suction/injection parameter ($f_0$) and the ratio of free stream velocity to boundary velocity parameter (${\lambda}$) are discussed in detail. The numerical results for velocity distribution and skin friction coefficient are given for several values of these parameters. Comparisons with the existing results obtained by other researchers under certain conditions are made. The critical values of $f_0$, m and ${\lambda}$ are obtained numerically and their significance on the skin friction and velocity profiles is discussed. The numerical evidence would seem to indicate the onset of reverse flow as it has been found by Riley and Weidman in 1989 for the Falkner-Skan equation for flow past an impermeable stretching boundary.

  • A new encryption algorithm had been proposed as a replacement to the Data Encryption Standard (DES) in [1,2]. It called the Extended DES (EDES) has a key length of 112 bits. The plaintext data consists of 96 bits divided into 3 sub-blocks of 32 bits each. The EDES has a potentially higher resistance to differential cryptanalysis that the DES due to the asymmetric number of f functions performed on each of the 3 sub-blocks and due to the increase of S-boxes from 8 to 16. This paper propose a hardware design for the EDES and its implementation in VLSI. The VLSI chip implements data encryption and decryption in a single hardware unit. With a system clock frequency of 15Mhz the device permits a data conversion rate of about 90Mbit/sec. Therefore, the chip can be applied to on-line encryption in high-speed networking protocols.

  • AR (Augmented Reality) is a technology that provides virtual content to the real world and provides additional information to objects in real-time through 3D content. In the past, a high-performance device was required to experience AR, but it was possible to implement AR more easily by improving mobile performance and mounting various sensors such as ToF (Time-of-Flight). Also, the importance of mobile augmented reality is growing with the commercialization of high-speed wireless Internet such as 5G. Thus, this paper proposes a system that can provide AR services via GNN (Graph Neural Network) using cameras and sensors on mobile devices. ToF of mobile devices is used to capture depth maps. A 3D point cloud was created using RGB images to distinguish specific colors of objects. Point clouds created with RGB images and Depth Map perform downsampling for smooth communication between mobile and server. Point clouds sent to the server are used for 3D object detection. The detection process determines the class of objects and uses one point in the 3D bounding box as an anchor point. AR contents are provided through app and web through class and anchor of the detected object.

  • It was studied on the reductive extraction between the eutectic salt and Bi metal phases. The solutes were zirconium and the rare earth elements, where zirconium was used as the surrogate for the transuranic(TRU) elements. All the experiments were performed in a glove box filled with argon gas. Two types of experimental conditions were used -high and low initial solute concentrations in salt. Li-Bi alloy was used as a reducing agent to reduce the high chemical activity of Li. The reductive extraction characteristics were examined using ICP, XRD and EPMA analysis. Zirconium was successfully separated from the rare earth elements by the reductive extraction method. The LiF-NaF-KF system was favorable among the fluoride salt systems, whereas the LiCl-KCl system was favorable among the chloride salt systems. When the solute concentrations were high, intermetallic compounds were found near the salt-metal interface.

  • Magnetron is applied in microwave ovens for generating microwaves. It is composed of r-fin, yoke, A/F seals, gasket base, filter box. The temperature is occurred highly, when magnetron operate in its systems. Therefore the thermal characteristics must be considered in the design of magnetron. Because of its geometric complex, it is difficult to analysis the thermal characteristics. In this paper, temperature analysis is performed for all components. The commercial software ANSYS is used to consider both conduction and convection. The analysis is carried out by adding each component. An experiment on the thermal characteristics is performed to verify the reliability for simulation.

  • A reliable analytic model that determines the exit cross sectional shape a workpiece(material) in round-oval (oroval-round) pass sequence has been developed. The exit cross sectional shape of an outgoing workpiece is predicted by using the linear interpolation of the radius of curvature of an incoming workpiece and that of roll groovw to the roll axis direction. The requirements placed on the choice of the weighting function were to ensure boundary conditions specified. The validity of the analytic model has been examined by not rod rolling experiment with the roll gap and specimen size changed. The exit cross sectional shape and area of the workpiece predicted by the proposed analytic model were good agreement with those obtained experimentally. We found that the analytic model has not only simplicity and accuracy for practical usage but also save a large amount of computational time compared with finite element method.

  • We have developed a high-$T_C$ SQUID magnetometer system to measure magnetocardiograms of laboratory rats. White noise of the measurement system was about 50 fT/$Hz^{1/2}$ when measured in a magnetically shielded box. We optimized the measurement position to obtain clear MCG wave from rat's small heart by using grid measurements. With the optimization, the MCG signal was successfully detected with the peak amplitude of about 50 pT. We could observe well defined P-, QRS-, and T-wave from the rat MCG. The results suggest that the developed system has a strong potential to monitor the progress of heart disease model using laboratory rat.
