Prediction of Distribution for Five Organic Contaminants in Biopiles by Level I Fugacity Model (Level I Fugacity Model을 이용한 Biopile 내 유기화합물 5종의 분포 예측)

  • The purpose of this study was to predict environmental distribution of anthracene, benzene, benzo[a]pyrene, 1-methylphenanthrene and phenanthrene in a four phase biopile system - air, water, soil and non aqueous phase liquid (NAPL) phase using level I fugacity model. Soil samples used for this study were collected from three sites in the United Kingdom which were historically contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons. The level I fugacities (f) for the five contaminants were markedly different, however, the fugacities of each contaminant in three soil samples did not show significant difference. NAPL and soil were the dominant phases for all five contaminants. Results of this study indicated that difference in percentage of organic carbon strongly influenced the partitioning behavior of the cntaminants. The presence of benzene calls for an urgent need for risk-based management of air and water phase. Whereas insignificant amount of chemicals leached in the water phase for other organic contaminants showing greatly reduced potential of groundwater contamination. Furthermore, this study helped us to confirm the association of risk critical contaminants with the residual saturation in treated soils. They also can be used to emphasize the importance of accounting for the partitioning behavior of both NAPL and soil phases in the process of the risk assessment of the sites contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons.

Isolation and Characterization of Acidophilic Yeasts Producing Urease from Korean Traditional $Nuruk$ (전통 누룩으로부터 호산성 Urease 생산 효모의 분리 및 특성)

  • Two hundred and twenty three yeast strains were randomly isolated from Korean traditional $nuruk$. Among them, six urease producing yeast strains (designated JJA, JJB, JJ22, SHA, SHC and SH10) were selected on the Christensen urea agar plates. They showed the same pattern in the PCR-RFLP analysis of the ITS I-5.8S-ITS II region digested with $Hae$III and $HinF$1 restriction endonucleases. Its DNA sequences showed 100% (strains SHA, SHC and SH10) and 99.8% (strains JJA, JJB and JJ22) identity with those of $Issatchenkia$ $orientalis$ type strain ATCC 24210. Phylogenetic analysis resulted in that all the strains were closely related to $I.$ $orientalis$. Two representative strains, JJ22 and SH10, showing the highest urease activities were selected for further characterization. Their morphological, physiological and biochemical characteristics were also the same as $I.$ $orientalis$. Therefore, both the two strains were identified as $I.$ $orientalis$. They could grow at a wide range of temperature between $20-40^{\circ}C$ as well as pH between 2.0 and 10.0. However, a higher level urease activity were obtained at acidic pH than that at alkalic pH. The maximal level of urease activity was obtained at $30^{\circ}C$ (strain SH10) or $35^{\circ}C$ (strain JJ22) and in a liquid medium adjusted to the initial pH 5.0.

  • 기업들이 고객에 대해 관심을 가지는 이유는 고객관계관리(CRM: customer relationship management)의 중요성이 그 어느 때 보다도 강조되고 있기 때문이며, 또한 강력한 고객관계가 기업의 경쟁우위를 위한 주요 수단이 되고 있음을 지각하고 있기 때문이다. 특히 인터넷 쇼핑몰에 대한 고객의 충성행위는 인터넷 쇼핑몰이 제공하는 다양한 상품 및 서비스와 더불어 성공적인 고객관계를 위해서는 매우 중요하다. 또한 인터넷 쇼핑몰의 입장에서는 여러 가지 다양한 서비스를 인터넷 쇼핑몰 이용 고객에게 제공함으로써 인터넷 쇼핑몰을 이용하는 고객들에 대한 신뢰와 몰입을 증가시킴으로써 인터넷 쇼핑몰 이용 고객들로 하여금 인터넷 쇼핑몰에 대해 높은 충성도를 가지게 할 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 본 연구는 인터넷 쇼핑몰 이용 고객에 대한 고객충성행위를 신뢰형성요인, 몰입형성요인, 신뢰, 몰입이라는 측면에서 설명하고자 하였다. 즉, 인터넷 쇼핑몰의 신뢰형성요인(능력, 호의성, 무결성)이 신뢰에 영향을 미치고, 몰입형성요인(촉진정보, 상호작용성, 쇼핑몰디자인)이 몰입에 영향을 미친다. 그리고 신뢰는 몰입과 고객충성행위에, 몰입은 고객충성행위에 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 제안하고 이를 인터넷 쇼핑몰 이용 경험이 있는 고객들을 대상으로 실증적으로 분석하였다. 실증분석 결과에 따르면 제안모델은 수용가능한 모델적합도를 보여 주었으며, 또한 본 연구에서 제시한 9개의 가설 모두가 통계적으로 유의한 결과를 보여주었다. 특히 신뢰는 신뢰형성요인(능력, 호의성, 무결성)과 고객충성행위사이에 매개변수의 역할을 수행하고있으며, 몰입은 몰입형성요인(촉진정보, 상호작용성, 쇼핑몰디자인)과 고객충성행위사이 그리고 신뢰와 고객충성행위사이에 매개변수의 역할을 수행하는 것으로 나타났다.동지역의 고기후를 해석함으로써 고기후적 및 고생태학적 의미를 연구해 보고자 하였다.에서는 시스템 등급에 영향을 준다. 향후에는 더욱 더 다양한 상호의존 모델들이 정량화될 필요성이 있다고 본다. 진행하였다. 줄여서 보다 더 정확하고, 지능적인 규칙구성요소 추출 방법론을 제시하고 구현하여 지식관리자의 규칙습득에 대한 부담을 줄여 주고자 한다. 도움을 받을 수 있게 되었다.을 거치도록 되어있다. 교통주제도는 국가의 교통정책결정과 관련분야의 기초자료로서 다양하게 활용되고 있으며, 특히 ITS 노드/링크 기본지도로 활용되는 등 교통 분야의 중요한 지리정보로서 구축되고 있다..20{\pm}0.37L$, 72시간에 $1.33{\pm}0.33L$로 유의한 차이를 보였으므로(F=6.153, P=0.004), 술 후 폐환기능 회복에 효과가 있다. 4) 실험군과 대조군의 수술 후 노력성 폐활량은 수술 후 72시간에서 실험군이 $1.90{\pm}0.61L$, 대조군이 $1.51{\pm}0.38L$로 유의한 차이를 보였다(t=2.620, P=0.013). 5) 실험군과 대조군의 수술 후 일초 노력성 호기량은 수술 후 24시간에서 $1.33{\pm}0.56L,\;1.00{\ge}0.28L$로 유의한 차이를 보였고(t=2.530, P=0.017), 술 후 72시간에서 $1.72{\pm}0.65L,\;1.33{\pm}0.3L$로 유의한 차이를 보였다(t=2.540, P=0.016). 6) 대상자의 술 후 폐환기능에 영향을 미치는 요인은 성별로 나타났다. 이에 따른 폐환기능의 차이를 보면, 실험군의 술 후 노력성 폐활량이 48시간에 남자($1.78{\pm}0.61L$

Phylogenetic study of Korean Geranium(Geraniaceae) based on nrDNA ITS squences (ITS 염기서열에 의한 한국산 쥐손이풀속(Geranium)의 계통학적 연구)

  • Phylogenetic analyses were conducted to evaluate evolution and relationship of 16 taxa of Korean Geranium including 3 outgroups using ITS (internal transcribed spacer) squences of nuclear ribosomal DNA. Phylogenetic studies used most parsimony and neighbor-joining methods including bootstrapping and jackknifing analysis. As the result, Korean Geranium forms monophyletic group. In the parsimony tree G. koraiense var. hallasanense situated as the most basal clade and Erianthum group forms one clade by high bootstrap ans jackknife values (100% of bootstrap and jackknife values). G.dahuricum as one of the Krameri group is closely related with Palustre group by very weak relationship (37% of bootstrap and 44% of jackknife values) and the node collapse in the strict tree. G. Knuthii which was one of wilfordii group is closely related with Koreanum group. G. sibiricum, one of Sibiricum group, is the most closest relationship with G. soboliferum and these species are sister to G. krameri. G. tripartitum and G. wilfordii which are wilfordii group are linked to G. nepalense, G. thunbergii f. pallidum and G. thunbergii. This result suggested that the phylogenetic analysis of ITS sequences should be useful to address phylogenetic questions on the genus Korean Geranium.

Predictors and Frailty Level in the Frail Elderly Receiving Home Visiting Health Care Services (방문건강관리사업 대상 재가노인의 허약정도와 예측요인)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to identify the predictors and frailty level in the frail elderly receiving home visiting health care services. Methods: The subjects were 177 frail elders aged over 65 registered in the home visiting health care services of three public health centers in Daegu. The data collection was performed from June 9 to June 24, 2015. This study used descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, scheffe test and stepwise multiple regression by SPSS Win 18.0 program. Results: The mean of the frailty score was 10.05 (${\pm}4.52$). Age and life satisfaction were the significant factors related to the frailty score in frail elderly. Health promotion behavior, empowerment, social participation and perceived health status had a negative correlation with the frailty score. Thirty seven point four percent of the variance in the frailty score can be explained by perceived health status (${\beta}=-0.398$, p<0.001), health promotion behavior (${\beta}=-0.251$, p<0.001) and age (${\beta}=0.232$, p<0.001)(Cum $R^2=0.374$, F=25.744, p<0.001). Perceived health status was the most important factor related to the frailty score in our study. Conclusions: An integrative care program which includes these significant variables of subjects is essential to prevent the deterioration of frailty in frail elderly.

X-ray Image Processing for the Korea Red Ginseng Inner Hole Detection (홍삼 내공검출을 위한 X-선 영상처리기술)

  • 이 연구는 x-선 투과영상을 이용하여 홍삼의 내공을 검출하기 위하여 수행되었다. 이를 위하여 x-선관에 조사되는 x-ray 양의 차이에 따른 위치별 밝기 값 차이를 보정하고 내공 검출에 적합한 영상처리 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 주요연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1) x-선관에 조사되는 x-ray양은 중심에서 가장자리로 갈수록 감소하며, 이것은 위치에 따른 gray 값의 분포가 달라지게 되는 원인이 되었다. 2) 홍삼을 2치화 하기 위해서는 동일한 x-선 조사강도에서 입력된 원 영상에서 빈 영상을 뺀 감산 영상을 만들어 줌으로써 가능하였다. 3) 조사강도 별 감산영상처리 결과 36kV/4.15mA와 39kV/4.15mA에서는 조사량이 많아서 홈삼 지근 부분의 영상이 손실되는 경우가 발생하였다. 4) 내공 검출을 위해서는 정상부분과 내공부분의 자기 값 차이를 크게 하는 전처리 영상을 만들 필요가 있었고, multiple 감산영상에서 뚜렷한 골짜기가 나타났으나 주근의 내공부분의 밝기값 보다 지근의 정상부분의 자기 값이 더 낮게 나타나 이를 보정하기 위하여 홍삼 위치에 따라 부분 보정된 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 5) x-선관의 놓인 위치에 따라서 내공판정시험 결과 중심에 있을 때에 비해 가장자리에 있을 때는 영상이 일부 손실되었으며, 중심 위치에서 서로 다른 굵기의 홍삼에 대해서는 모두 양호한 결과가 나타났다. 6) 완전한 홈삼으로 내공판정시험 결과 내공주위의 정상부분가지도 일부 내공으로 잘못 검출되었으나 이것을 재차 line profile에 의해 한 라인씩 문턱 값을 설정하여 내공만을 정확하게 판정하는 알고리즘을 개발하였다.양체의 접종작업은 모든 배양실이 인력에 의존하였으며, 배양체를 배지와 분리하여 불필요한 부분을 제거하고 배양작물에 따라 생육정도를 2~3등급으로 구분하여 배양용기의 배지 위에 치상하는 과정으로 수행되었으며, 작업능률은 호접란의 경우 배양병에 25본을 접종하는데 시간당 6병, 심비디움은 원형 플라스크에 25본을 접종하는데 시간당 10병 정도였다. 바. 식물체의 대량증식에 사용되는 플라스크, 배양병, PE용기 등 배양용기의 세척작업은 농원의 1개배양실에서 간이식 세척기, 이 외의 9개배양실은 모두 물에 담겨 두었다가 세제와 브러쉬 등을 사용하여 인력으로 세척하고 있어 생력화 기술개발이 요구되었다.도가 빠를수록 건조속도가 빨라졌으며, 건조에너지도 1,334kcal/kg.water로 비슷하게 소요되었다. 마. 시험구와 대비구의 건감률은 시험구에서 1.08~1.36w.b./h로 나타나 대비구보다 약 9.9~18.3%가 높게 나타났고, 건조에너지는 10.2~14.6%가 절감되었다. 발아율은 열풍온도가 낮을수록 높게 나타났고 시험구가 대비구보다 발아율이 낮게 나타났으며, 동할률 증가량도 원적외선.열풍 복합건조방법이 높게 나타나 이것은 곡물 표면에 원적외선 방사에의한 복사열이 전달되어 열장해를 받았기 때문으로 판단되며, 금후 더 연구하여 적정 열풍온도 및 방사체 크기를 구명해야 할 것이다.으로 보여진다 따라서 옻나무 유래 F는 포유동물의 생식기능에 중요하게 작용하는 것으로 사료된다.된다.정량 분석한 결과이다. 시편의 조성은 33.6 at% U, 66.4 at% O의 결과를 얻었다. 산화물 핵연료의 표면 관찰 및 정량 분석 시험시 시편 표면을 전도성

Geochemistry and Stable Isotopes of Carbonated Waters in South Korea (남한 탄산수의 지구화학적 특성과 안정동위원소 조성)

  • Geochemical and isotopic analyses were carried out to investigate hydrochemical characteristics, source of carbon species in the carbonated waters in South Korea. Most Korean carbonated waters from different geologic settings are characterized by a Ca-HCO$_3$type with a relatively low pH range from 5.3 to 6.3 (avg. 6.0). The concentrations of cations and anions in the carbonate waters are in the order of Ca$^{2+}$>Na$^{+}$>Mg$^{2+}$>Si$^{4+}$>Fe$^{2+}$>K$^{+}$ and HCO$_3$$^{-}$>SO$_4$$^{2-}$>Cl$^{-}$, respectively. The HCO$_3$$^{-}$ ion is more enriched in the carbonated water from the sedimentary rock and granitic rock of Mesozoic age in the Gyungsang basin(GII) and the Precambrian metamorphic rock and Jurassic granitic rocks of the Gyunggj massif in the Gangwon province(GⅠ) than those of the meta-sedimentary rock and granite in the Ogcheon zone(GⅢ). Based on the oxygen and hydrogen isotopic data, the carbonated waters are derived from the meteoric water, showing apparent latitude and altitude effects. The $delta$$^{13}$C values of carbon species in the carbonated water are in between -6.23 and 0.0 $textperthousand$, suggesting inorganic source of carbon originated from the carbonate mineral and carbonate rock in the aquifer.

Comparative Study of Conventional Phlebectomy and Transiliuminated Powered Phlebectomy in Varicose Veins (하지 정맥류의 고식적 수술 방법과 광투시 전동형 정맥제거술의 비교연구)

  • Recently the cases of varicose veins are increasing because the patients with latent disease have come to realize that they want a positive treatment. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to compare and analyze two methods the conventional phlebectomy (CP) and transiliuminated powered phlebectomy (TIPP). Material and Method: From March 200f to December 2004, 114 patients (167 legs) with varicose vein were operated in Pusan National University Hospital. A retrospective review was performed on the clinical records. We analyzed age, sex, duration of illness, chief complaints, duplex doppler findings, number of skin incisions, operative time, length of hospitalization, complications, and remnant lesions. Result: Operative time was significantly shorter in the TIPP group than CP group (for one leg $108.4\pm27.6\;min\;vs\;83_4\pm24.4\;min,\;for\;both\;legs\;184.7\pm28.4\;min\;vs\; 137.8\pm24.4\;min)$. There was signifcant statistical difference in average number of skin incisions per leg between the CP group and the TIPP group $(5.9\pm2.2\;vs\;4.2\pm1.6)$. Mean duration of hospitalization was Significantly shorter in the TIPP group than CP group $(4.4\pm1.0\;days\;vs\;5.8\pm1.9\;days)$. Complications were pain $(15.9\%)$, remnant lesion $(9.5\%)$, and ecchymosis $(4.8\%)$ in the CP group and ecchymosis $(19.6\%),\;pain\;(7.8\%),\;and\;remnant\;lesion\;(7.8\%)$ in TIPP group. Sclerotherapy or reopertaion was done for the patients who had remnant lesions. Conclusion: Transilluminated powered phlebectomy in varicose vein could reduce operative time and number of skin incisions, and almost completely removed the multiple lesions. Although there were postoperative complications such as ecclymosis, they were absorbed within 2 months and patients were satisfied. Therefore, TIPP is a more effective operative technique than conventional phlebectomy in varicose veins.

  • Purpose : To compare fMRIs of visual and auditory word generation tasks, and to evaluate the difference of its activated areas and lateralization according to the mode of stimuli. Materials and Methods : Eight male normal volunteers were included and all were right handed. Functional maps were obtained during auditory and visual word generation tasks in all. Normalized group analysis were performed in each task and the threshold for significance was set at p<0.05. Activated areas in each task were compared visually and statistically. Results : In both tasks, left dominant activations were demonstrated and were more lateralized in visual task. Both frontal lobes (Broca's area, premotor area, and SMA) and left posterior middle temporal gyrus were activated in both tasks. Extensive bilateral temporal activations were noted in auditory task. Both occipital and parietal activations were demonstrated in visual task. Conclusion : Modality independent areas could be interpreted as a core area of language function. Modality specific areas may be associated with processing of stimuli. Visual task induced more lateralized activation and could be a more useful in language study than auditory task.

Predicting the Concentration of Obesity-related Metabolites via Heart Rate Variability for Korean Premenopausal Obese Women: Multiple Regression Analysis (심박변이도를 통한 폐경 전 한국인 비만 여성의 비만 관련 대사체 농도 예측을 위한 회귀분석)

  • Objectives Advanced researches on the relationship between obesity and heart rate variability (HRV), heretofore, focused on characteristics of HRV depending on the state of obesity. However, the previous researches have not quantified predictive power of HRV toward the obesity-related variables, which is rather more meaningful for clinicians who regularly treat obese patients. Hence, we designed a research to investigate whether HRV could predict serum levels of obesity-related metabolites. Methods Ninety obese premenopausal women meeting the inclusion criteria were recruited. The HRV test, blood sampling, and measurement of physical traits were conducted. Multiple regression analysis of the measurement data was carried out, putting obesity-related metabolites (insulin, glucose, triglyceride, hs-CRP, HDL, LDL, total cholesterol) as outcome variables and the others as predictors. To select appropriate predictive variables, the Akaike's Information Criterion (AIC) was applied. Normality and homoskedasticity of residuals for each model were tested to identify if there were any violations of the regression analysis's basic assumption. Logarithm transformation was used for the values of the concentration of metabolites and the HRV. Results The regression model including Total Power (TP) value and BMI had significant predictive power for serum insulin concentration (F(2, 88)=835.7, p<0.001, $R^2=0.95$). The regression coefficient of ln (TP) was -0.1002. However, it was not sure if the HRV could predict concentrations of other metabolites. Conclusions The results suggest that the Total Power (TP) value of the HRV can predict the level of serum insulin. If the BMI could be assumed as being constant, when the TP value is multiplied by n, the predicted change of insulin could be drawn by multiplying $n^{-0.1002}$. The uncertainty of this model can be assumed as approximately 5%.
