Plate anchors are primarily used in the foundation construction of earth-supported and earth-retaining structures. In order to estimate uplift capacity as well as suction force of clay, model tests were peformed with respect to various embedment depths and two different moisture contents in the prepared saturated kaolinite. Further, suction effects on the ultimate uplift capacity, at the various embedment depths of anchor, were also taken into account. Test results show that ultimate uplift capacity including suction force increases from 4.2kg at H/D=1 upto 11.6kg at H/D=5 in K1 and from 2.3kg at H/D=1 upto 7.3kg at H/D=5 in K2 respectively. The ratio of $F_s/Q_n/$ decreases along with the increases in the embedment ratio. In general, mud suction force under the ultimate uplift capacity in kaolinite decreases or becomes constant along with the increase of the embedment ratio.

The green-emitting CeMgAl11O19:Tb (CMAT) phosphor has been prepared at 1200 °C by the simple solid-state reaction using AlF3 as a self-flux. This preparation temperature is much lower than those (1500-1700 °C) for conventional solid-state reaction and spray pyrolysis method. In particular, the complete process to produce high-quality phosphor particles was carried out through the single-step heat treatment of the mixture of corresponding oxide-type metal sources. An addition of AlF3 as a self-flux significantly decreased the crystallization temperature of CMAT with plate-like shape. The particle morphology could be controlled from plate-like to spherical by using H3BO3 as an additional flux. Thus, an optimal morphology and luminescence characteristics of CMAT were achieved when both AlF3 and H3BO3 fluxes were simultaneously used. Compared with conventional solid-state process, which is accompanied by the calcination step(s), and other alternative liquid solution techniques such as sol-gel method and spray pyrolysis, no use of active precursors and liquid media that are harmful to the environment is a distinctive advantage for the industrial purpose.

In this paper, multi-band internal antenna which can adjust both resonant frequency and input impedance of antenna as using lumped inductor between shoring plate and ground plane is proposed. The structure of proposed antenna consists of PIFA (Planar Inverted F Antenna) structure and half-wavelength loaded line structure and has two shorting plates and one feeding plate. One shorting plate is shared. The operating frequency bands of designed antenna are GSM, GPS in the PIFA structure and DCS, US-PCS, W-CDMA in half-wave loaded line structure as varying the inductor value in 2.2nH, 3.3nH, and 4.7nH. As varying the inductor value in the shared shorting plate, input impedance of antenna is varied. To minimize the gain variation of antenna as adding lumped element, the inductor value is restricted at maximum of 6.8nH. The maximum gain of proposed antenna is measured as -1.60dBi in the GSM band, -1.16dBi in the GPS band, and 1.41dBi in the DCS/US-PCS/W-CDMA band.
To analyze the bending and transverse shear effects of laminated composite plates, a thirteen nodes triangular element will be presented. The suggested formulations consider a parabolic variation of the transverse shear strains through the thickness. As a result, there is no need to use shear correction coefficients in computing the shear stresses. The proposed element can model both thin and thick plates without any problems, such as shear locking and spurious modes. Moreover, the effectiveness of $w_{,n}$, as an independent degree of freedom, is concluded by the present study. To perform the accuracy tests, several examples will be solved. Numerical results for the orthotropic materials with different boundary conditions, shapes, number of layers, thickness ratios and fiber orientations will be presented. The suggested element calculates the deflections and stresses more accurate than those available in the literature.

Currently, CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer) plate bonding is used quite extensively as a strengthening method. In this technique, a composite CFRP plate or sheet of relatively small thickness is bonded with an adhesion material to steel or concrete structure in order to improve its structural behavior and strength. The sheets or plates do not require much space and give a composite action between the adherents. In this study, the rotation capacity of CFRP-strengthened cold-formed steel (CFS) beams has been evaluated through numerical investigation. Studies on different structural levels have been performed. At the beam level, C-section has been adopted with different values of profile thickness, web height, and flange width. At the connection level, a web bolted moment resistant type of connection using through plate has been adopted. In web-bolted connections without CFRP strengthening, premature web buckling results in early loss of strength. Hence, CFRP sheets and plates with different mechanical properties and geometric configurations have been examined to delay web and flange buckling and to produce relatively high moment strength and rotation capacity. The numerical results reveal that CFRP strengthening may increase strength, initial stiffness, and rotation capacity when compared with the case without strengthening.

Approximately 70 percent of shop's hull plate consists of three-dimensional curved shell. Concerning with the research on the automation of plate forming many studies have been carried out for the last decade. The purpose of this study is to develop the simulator of heating on the basis of the reasonable mechanical model representing a heating phenomenon. The beating experiment has been carried out with varying parameters influencing on the results of heating information at the kinematics analysis, simulatorestimate the shape of deformed plate that process along the processing information. When we get the initial shape and the object shape, we calculate the processing information first, using kinematics analysis. In a simulator we estimate deformed shape from the processing information. After this we compare deformed shape and object shape. If the error of deformed shape and object shape is in the proper limits, that information is determined the final processing information. Else we repeat the process changing variable.
In the mammography, X-ray beam quality is one of the most important factors. Using X-ray mammography unit model GE/CGR Senography 600T Senix H.F, Authors studied four subjects. 1. The aluminum attenuation rate in 30 kVp when used with or without compression plate. 2. HVLs at 5 different area of the X-ray field of $26{\sim}32kVp$. 3. HVLs to know the influence of corrected measurement or parallel measurement. 4. Film density with microdensitometer along and cross to the long axis of X-ray tube, in terms of the Heel effect in the X-ray field. The following results were obtained. 1. Beam quality of anode area was harder than cathode area. 2. The dose reduction rate of compression plate was approximately $65.5%{\sim}88.1%$ and the beam quality with compression plate was hardened up to 4kVp accordingly. 3. If the X-ray beam enters the attenuation plate obliquely, HVL was $2.6{\sim}2.9%$ harder than perpendicular to it. 4. Because of heel effect, the film density of cathode area is higher than anode area to film density of 0.5.

Hydrogen energy, a field of low-carbon substitute energy, can be produced by fossile fuel reforming and electrolysis of water etc. We developed 1kW class flat type reformer for PEM Fuel Cells. The PEMFC is highly sensitive to carbon monoxide because CO has detrimental effects on the performance of the fuel cell. Thus, reformed gas supplied to Fuel cell system, which maintained CO concentration below 10ppm. After applying optimum drive condition, reformed gas was measured with gas chromatography and could find out about each experimental condition of $H_2$ and CO concentration. As a results, The 1kW class plate type hydrogen generation system's optimum condition is A/F ratio ${\alpha}=1.3$, STR temperature 1023K, S/C ratio 3, and $PrOx1{\cdot}2$ 30cc/min. It turns out that installation of PrOx 2 stage is more efficient for reducing CO concentration.

Condensation heat transfer experiments were conducted with the oblong shell and plate heat exchanger without oil in a refrigerant loop using R-l34a, R-407C and R-410A. An experimental refrigerant loop has been developed to measure the condensation heat transfer coefficient h$_{r}$ and frictional pressure drop $\Delta$p$_{f}$ of the various refrigerants in a vertical oblong shell and plate heat exchanger. The effects of the refrigerant mass flux(40∼80kg/$m^2$s), average heat flux(4∼8kW/$m^2$), refrigerant saturation temperature(30∼4$0^{\circ}C$) and vapor quality of refrigerants on the measured data were explored in detail. Similar to the case of a plate heat exchanger, even at a very low Reynolds number, the flow in the oblong shell and plate heat exchanger remains turbulent. A comparison of the performance of the various refrigerants revealed that R-410A had the highest heat transfer performance followed by R-l34a, and R-407C had the lowest performance of the refrigerants tested. The pressure drops were also reported in this paper. The pressure drops for R-410A were approximately 45% lower than those of R-l34a. R-407C had 30% lower pressure drops than R-l34a. Experimental results were compared with several correlations which predicted condensation heat transfer coefficients and frictional pressure drops. Comparison with the experimental data showed that the previously proposed correlations gave unsatisfactory results. Based on the present data, empirical correlations of the condensation heat transfer coefficient and the friction factor were proposed.tor were proposed.sed.
In this study, $TiO_2$ nanotubes with different morphologies were prepared in the electrolyte consisting of ethylene glycol, ammonium fluoride($NH_4F$), and deionized water($H_2O$) by controlling the voltage and time in the anodization method. Thicknesses and pore sizes of these $TiO_2$ nanotubes were measured to interpret the relationship between anodization conditions and $TiO_2$ nanotube morphologies. Element contents in the $TiO_2$ nanotubes were detected for further analysis of $TiO_2$ nanotube characteristics. Photoelectrolyticdecolorization efficiencies of the $TiO_2$ nanotube plates with various morphologies were tested to clarify the morphology that a highly active $TiO_2$ nanotube plate should have. Influences of applied voltage in photoelectrolysis processes and sodium sulfate($Na_2SO_4$) concentration in wastewater on the decolorization efficiency were also studied. To save the equipment investment cost in photoelectrolysis methods, a two-photoelectrode system that uses the $TiO_2$ nanotube plates as photoanode and photocathode instead of adding other counter electrodes was studied. Compared with single-photoelectrode system that uses the $TiO_2$ nanotube plate as photoanode and titanium plate as cathode on the view of the treatment of dye wastewater containing different amounts of salt. As a result, a considerably suitable voltage was strictly needed for enhancing the photoelectrolyticdecolorization effect of the two-photoelectrode system but if salts exist in wastewater, an excellent increase in the decolorization efficiency can be obtained.
