Adapting two step aeration system to a waste water treatment of W-paper manufactory as Full-Scale Plants, we drew a following conclusion from its practical working. 1. Because BOD removal efficiency was 20% in A-Stage, 90% in B-Stage and total removal efficiency was 97%. It worked treatment plant well and was suitable for effluent water standard as well. Because COD removal efficiency was 42% in A-stage, 71% in B-stage and the total removal efficiency was 94% COD control was possible in effluent water quality. 2. Treatment efficiency according to a load capacity was average 20% in 1.401 BOD kg/m3/d load of A-Stage and average 90% in 0.273 BOD kg/$\textrm {m}^3$ / d load of B-Stage. 3. Treatment efficiency according to a ratio of F/M was 2.657--5.024 kg BOD/kg MLSS/d in A-Stage and BOD removal efficiency was 16-261 in the same stage. The ratio of F/M was 0.068-0.094 kg BOD /kg MLSS/d and BOD removal efficiency ratio was 85-94%. Therefore treatment efficiency could be kept stably and volume of aeration tank could be reduced wholly. 4. Treatment efficiency according to MLSS appeared BOD 20%. COD 42%, in A-Stage and removal efficiency appeared BOD 90%, COD 71% in B-Stage. They were suitable for plan condition. 5. Because of working of complemented treatment plant by AB-Process. 20,000,000 Won a month was saved than the ordinary working cost. Therefore, it was assumed that invested cost could be recollected in 19 months or so consequently.
The response of the freshwater microalga, Chlorella vulgaris, to heavy metal stress was examined based on chlorophyll fluorescence analysis to assess the toxic effects of heavy metals in freshwater ecosystems. When toxic effects were analyzed using regular chlorophyll fluorescence analysis, photosystem II activity($F_v/F_m$) decreased significantly when exposed to $Cu^{2+}$ and $Hg^{2+}$ for 12 h, and decreased in the order of $Hg^{2+}>Cu^{2+}>Cd^{2+}>Ni^{2+}$ when exposed for 24h. The effective photochemical quantum yield(${\phi}{\prime}_{PSII}$), chlorophyll fluorescence decrease ratio($R_{Fd}$), minimal fluorescence yield($F_o$), and non-photochemical quenching(NPQ), but not photochemical quenching(qP), responded sensitively to $Hg^{2+}$, $Cu^{2+}$, and $Cd^{2+}$. These results suggest that $F_v/F_m$, as well as ${\phi}{\prime}_{PSII}$, $R_{Fd}$, $F_o$, and NPQ could be used to assess the effects of heavy metal ions in freshwater ecosystems. However, because many types of heavy metal ions and toxic compounds co-occur under natural conditions, it is difficult to assess heavy metal toxicity in freshwater ecosystems. When Chlorella was exposed to heavy metal ions for 12 or 24h, $F_v/F_m$ and maximal fluorescence yield($F_m$) changed in response to $Hg^{2+}$ and $Cu^{2+}$ based on image analysis. However, assessing quantitatively the toxic effects of several heavy metal ions is challenging.
The objective of this research was executed to investigate the effect of molar ratio of formaldehyde to urea and melamine (F/(U+M)) of urea-melamine-formaldehyde (UMF) resin on bonding high and low moisture content veneers. For that purpose, UMF resin types with 5 different F/(U+M) molar ratios (1.45, 1.65, 1.85, 2.05, and 2.25) synthesized were used in present study. First, their curing behavior was evaluated by differential scanning calorimetry. Second, their adhesion performance in bonding high and low moisture content veneers was evaluated by probe tack and dry and wet shear strength tests. Curing temperature and reaction enthalpy decreased with the increase of F/(U+M) molar ratio. And the dry and wet shear strengthsof plywood manufactured from low moisture content veneers were higher than thoseof plywood manufactured from high moisture content veneers. Also, the maximum initial tack force on the low moisture content veneer was higher than that on the high moisture content veneer.

The slip-weakening model developed by Ohnaka and Yamashita is extended over the breakdown zone by equating the scaling relationships for the breakdown zone and the whole rupture area. For the extension, the study uses the relationship between rupture velocity and radiation efficiency, which was derived in the theory of linear elastic fracture mechanics, and the definition of fmax given in the specific barrier model proposed by Papageorgiou and Aki. The results clearly show that the extended scaling relationship is governed by the ratio of rupture velocity to S wave velocity, and the velocity ratio can be determined by the ratio of characteristic frequencies of a Fourier amplitude spectrum, which are corner frequency, fc, and source-controlled cut-off frequency, fmax, or vice versa. The derived relationship is tested by using the characteristic frequencies extracted from previous studies of more than 130 shallow crustal events (focal depth less than 25 km, MW 3.0~7.5) that occurred in Japan. Under the assumption of a dynamic similarity, the rupture velocity estimated from fmax/fc and the modified integral timescale give quite similar scale-dependence of the rupture area to that given by Kanamori and Anderson. Also, the results for large earthquakes show good agreement to the values from a kinematic inversion in previous studies. The test results also indicate the unavailability of the spectral self-similarity proposed by Aki because of the scale-dependent rupture velocity and the rupture velocity-dependent fmax/fc; however, the results do support the local similarity asserted by Ohnaka. It is also remarkable that the relationship between the rupture velocity and fmax/fc is quite similar to Kolmogorov's hypothesis on a similarity in the theory of isotropic turbulence.
Productivity of biosurfactant (rhamnolipid) by Pseudomonas aeuginosa F722 was investigated in the several culture conditions and culture composition. Biosurfactant production by P. aeuginosa F722 was amounted to 0.78 g/l as the result of the nitrogen sources and carbon sources without investing of optimum conditions. As for that one was investigated, biosurfactant production by P. aeruginosa F722 was amounted to 1.66 g/l. Biosurfactant production increased twofold because the composition of a modified C-medium was investigated efficiently. $NE_4$Cl or $NaNO_2$ inorganic nitrogens and yeast extract or trypton organic nitrogens were effective, but others inorganic nitrogens and organic nitrogens tested were not efficient far biosurfactant production by P. aeruginosa F722. The optimum concentration of $NH_4$Cl; inorganic nitrogen and yeast extract; organic nitrogen were 0.05% and 0.1%, respectively. In various carbon sources, others with the exception of hydrophobic property substrate (n-alkane) and hydrophilic property substrate (glucose, glycol) were not found to be effective fur biosurfactant production, and 3.0% was better in yield than other concentration of glucose. This yielded C-to-N ratios between 17 and 20. In our experiment, the highest biosurfactant production by P. aeruginosa F722 were observed in 5 days cultivation, containing glucose 3.0%, $NH_4$Cl 0.05%, and yeast extract 0.1% and C-to-N ratio was 20. Optimal pH and temperature for biosurfactant production were 7.0 and $35^{\circ}C$, respectively. Under the optimal culture conditions with glucose, biosurfactant production was amounted to 1.66 g/l. Velocity of biosurfactant production and strain growth increased after nitrogen depletion. The average surface tension of 30 mN/m after the 3 days of incubation under optimal culture condition was measured by ring tensionmeter.
Two calorimetric experiments were performed to investigate the effects of two diets with same concentrate: roughage ratio (70:30) but varying in composition on energy metabolism and methane production in faunated (F) and defaunated (DF) Muzaffarnagari sheep. For experiment I, ten animals were divided equally into two groups of which one was kept normally F as such while other was DF using 10% sodium lauryl sulphate. All the animals were offered diet I which comprised of oat hay and concentrate mixture I (CM I) containing maize grain (93%) as a major ingredient in 70:30 ratio. Similarly, the experiment II was conducted for which four F and four DF sheep (same as used for experiment I) were switched to diet II that consisted of maize hay and CM II (maize grain 59% + molasses 36%). Through diet II, DM intake in DF sheep was significantly (p<0.05) lower. Intake of GE through both the diets was similar in F and DF sheep. Digestibility of DM, OM, CP and GE and also metabolisability (ME/GE) was similar in F and DF sheep on both the diets. Total urinary energy loss did not differ in F and DF on both the diets, but methane energy loss as a percent of GE in DF was significantly (p<0.05) lower on diet I (3.75 vs 2.48), while it did not differ on diet II (3.20 vs 3.60). Heat production was significantly (p<0.01) reduced in DF on both the diets. Although, efficiency of utilisation of ME for maintenance calculated as per ARC (1984) did not differ in F and DF on both the diets, efficiency for maintenance and growth was higher (0.60 vs 0.672) on diet I in DF. It was inferred that methane production in DF sheep reduces on good quality hay-based diet supplemented with slowly fermentable carbohydrate (maize grain) but supplementation of molasses (rapidly fermentable CHO) nullify this effect when sheep were fed diets with concentrate: roughage ratio of 70:30.
The flow characteristics on the periodically arranged semi-circular ribs in a rectangular channel for turbulent flow have been investigated numerically. The aspect ratio of the rectangular channel was AR=5, the rib height to hydraulic diameter ratio was 0.07 and rib height to channel height ratio was e/H=0.117. The v2-f turbulence model and SST k-${\omega}$ turbulence model were used to find the flow characteristics of near the wall which are suited for realistic phenomena. The numerical analysis results show turbulent flow characteristics and pressure drop at the near the wall as observed experimentally. The results predict that turbulent kinetic energy(k) is closely relative to the diffusion of recirculation flow, and v2-f turbulence model simulation results have a good agreement with experimental.
This work was conducted to investigate on the effect of urea-formaldehyde (UF) resin viscosity on plywood adhesion. The viscosity of UF resin was controlled either by adjusting the condensation reaction during its synthesis to obtain different target viscosities (100, 200 and 300 mPa.s) at two levels of formaldehyde/urea (F/U) mole ratios (1.0 and 1.2) or by adding different amounts (10, 20 and 30%) of wheat flour into the resins for the manufacture of plywood. When the viscosity of UF resin increased by the condensation reaction, the adhesion strength of plywood bonded with UF resin of 1.2 F/U mole ratio consistently increased, while those bonded with the 1.0 F/U mole ratio resin slightly decreased, suggesting a difference in the adhesion in plywood. However, the adhesion strength of plywood decreased as the viscosity increased by adding wheat flour, regardless of F/U mole ratio. The manipulation of UF resin viscosity by adjusting the condensation reaction was much more efficient than by adding wheat flour in improving the adhesion performance of plywood. These results indicated that a way of controlling the viscosity of UF resin adhesives has a great influence to their adhesion in plywood.

This research investigates how the fineness modulus of fine aggregates and the grain shape of coarse aggregates affects flow characteristics, packing characteristics and compressive strength characteristic. The experimental results, show that increase of the fine aggregate's fineness modulus improved concrete flow, but filling ability was high at over KS regulation extent due to segregation phenomena. It is considered that the improvement of 0.1 spherical rate was effective to concrete fluidity elevation by reducing about $6\%$ of fine aggregate ratio displays which the smallest gap rate of aggregate. Compressive strength was increased to about 0.6MPa everytime F.M. 0.1 of fine aggregate fineness is increased. However, it was decreased to about 9MPa at F.M. 3.5 compared to F.M. 3.0.

A Dual Mass Flywheel system is a evolution to the reduction of torsional vibration and impact noise occuring in powertrain when a vehicle is eit-her moving or idling. The name already explains what it is : The mass of the conventional single mass flywheel is divided. One section continues to belong to the mass moment of inertia of the engine-side. The ot-her section increass the mass moment of inertia of the transmission-side. The two masses are connected via a spring /damping system. This reduces the speed at which the dreaded resonance occurs to below idle speed. Since 1984 Dual Mass Flywheel has been de-veloped again and again. But the prosidures of de-velopment of D.M.F system didn't have had differe-nce from conventional clutch system's trial and err-or This paper presents the method for systematical design of D.M.F system with demensionless design variables of D.M.F system mass ratio between two flywheels λ. natual frequency rate of two flywheel s, ${\gamma}$and viscosity coefficient ζ. And experimental re-sults are used to prove these theoretical results.
