This study is conducted for the evaluation of corrosion and lifetime prediction of fire extinguishing pipelines in residential buildings. The fire extinguishing pipeline is made of carbon steel. Twenty-four samples were selected among all the fire extinguishing pipelines in a building; the selection was based on specimenspositions, pipeline diameters, and pipeline thickness. Analysis was conducted by using the results of visual inspection, electrochemical potentiodynamic anodic polarization test, pitting depth measurements, and extreme value statistics with the Gumbel distribution. The maximum pitting depth and remaining life were statistically predicted using extreme value statistics. During visual inspection, pitting corrosion was observed in several samples. In addition, extreme value statistics demonstrated that there were several pipelines that were very sensitive to pitting corrosion. However, the pitting corrosion was not critical in all the pipelines; thus, it was necessary to change only those pipelines that were severely corroded.

본 연구는 북한의 남남갈등 개입과 이를 둘러싼 한국사회의 갈등구조를 '갈등전환' 개념에 입각한 접근방법으로 분석함으로써, 북한문제의 과잉정치화로 인한 극단적 양극화의 극복방안을 모색하는 토대를 마련하고자 했다. 우선 한국사회에서 진행된 2007년과 2012년 두 차례의 대선 국면과 2008년 광우병 문제로 전개된 촛불집회 국면, 그리고 2014년 세월호 사건으로 진행된 촛불집회 국면에서 북한이 어떻게 개입했는지를 분석하였다. 이를 위해 북한의 공식 매체인 『로동신문』이 게재한 기사 내용을 분석하였다. 그리고 북한의 남남갈등 개입 양상과 성격, 한국사회에서 북한문제의 과잉정치화와 극단적 양극화의 실체와 원인을 갈등의 맥락, 관계, 기억의 차원에서 분석하였다. 그 결과 이를 극복하기 위해서는 남북관계뿐만 아니라 한국사회 내 보수-진보세력 간 관계의 재설정이 필요하고, 이러한 새로운 관계설정을 바탕으로 한 상호 기억의 재구성 및 공유 작업이 요구됨을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 갈등전환적 접근을 통해 기존 연구의 한계를 보완함과 동시에 종합을 시도했다는 점에서 그 연구의 의의를 찾을 수 있다.

What will the gaming industry look like in the future? Where is it heading? Most producers, developers, and gamers have been pondering such questions since the very beginning of video games. This paper asserts that the current trend in video games to emphasize rationalization will, in time, bring about an extreme polarization within the game industry. Each year the barriers to entry are becoming lower and the size of the game market is growing, which will bring about an emphasis on who has the power to be recognized in the industry. This paper argues that such trends will, in turn, lead to a power play in which the winner will always be the player with the most monetary power. In time, this prolonged power play is expected to bring about what this discussion refers to as a dystopian model within the game industry.

As polarization intensified in the United States, the voting support of the presidential party lawmakers has become the most important source of power for the president. The presidential party has been believed to legalize the president's agenda in a unified government and prevent legislation opposed by the president from being passed by the Congress within a divided government. However, even under party polarization, all the lawmakers and factions of the presidential party have not voted in accordance with the president's policy preferences. Statistical analysis shows that lawmakers who corresponded to the ideology median of the presidential party most strongly supported the president's agendas during the unified government. However, lawmakers with extreme ideologies voted more actively for the president than those with median ones during the divided government. Furthermore, this trend has been amplified regarding ideological factions.

이 연구에서는 대학영역에서의 안전관리 문제에 초점을 두고 대학의 양적 발전과 성장에 따른 위험 사회적 요소와 특성을 탐구하고, 안전관리에 관련된 법제문제를 연구하고자 한다. 대학캠퍼스는 인적자원과 물적자원, 지식정보자원이 집중되어 있는 사회의 축소판으로써 이러한 자원들을 위협하는 다양한 위험요인이 압축적으로 잠재되어 있는 영역이다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 지금까지 위험불감증과 무사안일주의로 인하여 캠퍼스내에 누적된 위험요소들을 인식하지 못하고 대학은 안전관리의 사각지대에 방치되고 있다. 최근에는 대학 연구실 안전사고 뿐만 아니라 사회양극화 현상의 심화, 스트레스와 장래에 대한 불안감, 정신질환의 증가로 인한 무동기범죄와 마약류 범죄, 사이버범죄 등 신종범죄에 대하여 체계적이고 종합적인 대책이 절실히 요구되고 있다. 따라서 대학에서 각종 안전사고와 재난을 예방하고 자원을 보호할 수 있도록 위기관리 관점에서 안전관리시스템을 구축할 수 있는 법제방안을 제시하고자 한다.

Clay minerals show a distinct induced-polarization phenomenon, which is one of the most important factors for predicting groundwater flow and contaminant transport. This paper presents a step-by-step process to estimate Cole-Cole parameters from spectral induced-polarization (IP) data measured on the surface of three-dimensional earth. First, the inversion of low-frequency resistivity survey data is made to identify the dc resistivity ${\rho}_dc$ of a volume having IP effects. The other parameters, chargeability m, time constant $\tau$, and frequency dependence c, are sought for the polarizable volume. Next, using multi-frequency data, c can be obtained as high or low asymptotes of the slope of log phase vs. log frequency. Further, for low m, intrinsic $\tau$ is approximated by apparent one, ${\tau}_a$, which is derived from the relation ${{\omega}{\tau}}_a$=1 at an angular frequency $\omega$, where the imaginary component of spectral IP data has an extreme value. Finally, to obtain intrinsic m a two-step linearized procedure has been derived. For a body of given $\tau$ and c, forward modeling with a progression of m values yields a plot of observed vs. intrinsic imaginary components for a frequency. Since this plot is essentially linear, to extract the intrinsic imaginary component is quite simple with an observed value. Using the plot of intrinsic imaginary component vs. m, intrinsic m is determined. We present a synthetic example to illustrate that the Cole-Cole parameters can be recovered from spectral IP data.

Because of economic polarization and difficulties, extreme personalization, and the complexity of social relationships, modern people are experiencing various mental disorders or pathologies. Accordingly, there is an urgent need to prepare more active countermeasures and support those with mental health difficulties to improve mental health and prevent abnormal pathologies. Artificial intelligence (AI) is expected to improve the mental health of individuals through emotional enhancement beyond affective computing. We investigated how to use AI to prevent and diagnose mental diseases or disorders, support treatment, and manage followup. In particular, promising services that can be used in daily life or medical clinics were discovered and active directions for realizing these services are suggested.

This paper deals with the nature and function of intensification in Korean in a wider scope of context which was not paid proper attention. Unobserved new areas of intensification are paid more attention like sound split of polysemy e.g. [s'eda], [kyongk'i] by n of intensification and north Korean application of intensification on [wonsu] and intensification of borrowed English. The recent phenomenon of 'gwua' intensification is experimented on two groups of people, young students and old people beyond 65 years old by means of sociolinguistic analysis. The result shows that its intensification is a form of student violent power and a mark of extreme solidarity among activist students. In conclusion, the nature of so called saisiot[t] e.g. intensification is voiceless tensed pause and its functions are the polarization of the original meaning of the word, sound split of polysemy and attachment of social values by intensification.

Unobserved new areas of intensification in the initial position are paid more attention like sound split of polysemy e.g. (s'eda), (kyongk'i) by means of intensification and north Korean application of intensification on (wonsu) and intensification of borrowed English. The recent phenomenon of ‘gwua’ intensification is experimented on two groups of people, young students and old people beyond 65 years old by means of sociolinguistic analysis. The result shows that its intensification is a form of student violent power and a mark of extreme solidarity among activist students. Thirty three university students(male 16, female 17) are asked to explained to write the meanings(feelings or when to use, etc.) of the words which have normal form and intensified forms. The results show intensification attaches the meaning of ‘emphasis,’ to bring the extremely polarized emotion: samll to the smallest, exact to the perfect exactness, bad to the worst feeling. Four words are being split to express different meaning with the word intensified. In conclusion, the nature of so called saisiot(t) e.g. intensification is voiceless tensed pause and its functions are the polarization of the original meaning of the word, sound split of polysemy and attachment of social values by intensification.
