This study is conducted for the evaluation of corrosion and lifetime prediction of fire extinguishing pipelines in residential buildings. The fire extinguishing pipeline is made of carbon steel. Twenty-four samples were selected among all the fire extinguishing pipelines in a building; the selection was based on specimenspositions, pipeline diameters, and pipeline thickness. Analysis was conducted by using the results of visual inspection, electrochemical potentiodynamic anodic polarization test, pitting depth measurements, and extreme value statistics with the Gumbel distribution. The maximum pitting depth and remaining life were statistically predicted using extreme value statistics. During visual inspection, pitting corrosion was observed in several samples. In addition, extreme value statistics demonstrated that there were several pipelines that were very sensitive to pitting corrosion. However, the pitting corrosion was not critical in all the pipelines; thus, it was necessary to change only those pipelines that were severely corroded.

This study aimed to lay the groundwork for overcoming extreme polarization due to over-politization of North Korean issue by applying an approach based on the concept of 'conflict transformation' in order to analyze the North Korea's intervention in 'South-South conflict' and the structure of conflict in South Korean society. First of all, it analyzed how North Korea intervened in the two presidential elections in 2007 and 2012, the 'candlelight protest' in 2008, and the 'candlelight protest' in 2014 that were conducted in South Korean society. To this end, this study analyzed the contents of articles published by North Korea's official media, the Rodong Sinmun. It also analyzed aspects and characteristics of the North Korea's intervention in South-South conflict, also substance and cause of extreme polarization and over-politization of North Korean issue in South Korean society in terms of conflict context, relations, and memories. As a result, not only inter-Korean relations but also relations between the conservative and progressive forces in South Korean society need to be reset to overcome them. And based on these new relationship settings, it is evident that reconstruction of mutual memory and sharing work are required. This study is meaningful in that it has tried to incorporate existing researches while compensating the limitation of existing researches through a conflict transformation approach.

What will the gaming industry look like in the future? Where is it heading? Most producers, developers, and gamers have been pondering such questions since the very beginning of video games. This paper asserts that the current trend in video games to emphasize rationalization will, in time, bring about an extreme polarization within the game industry. Each year the barriers to entry are becoming lower and the size of the game market is growing, which will bring about an emphasis on who has the power to be recognized in the industry. This paper argues that such trends will, in turn, lead to a power play in which the winner will always be the player with the most monetary power. In time, this prolonged power play is expected to bring about what this discussion refers to as a dystopian model within the game industry.

As polarization intensified in the United States, the voting support of the presidential party lawmakers has become the most important source of power for the president. The presidential party has been believed to legalize the president's agenda in a unified government and prevent legislation opposed by the president from being passed by the Congress within a divided government. However, even under party polarization, all the lawmakers and factions of the presidential party have not voted in accordance with the president's policy preferences. Statistical analysis shows that lawmakers who corresponded to the ideology median of the presidential party most strongly supported the president's agendas during the unified government. However, lawmakers with extreme ideologies voted more actively for the president than those with median ones during the divided government. Furthermore, this trend has been amplified regarding ideological factions.

This research will mainly focus on security issues in a university campus and delve into the risk factors and its characteristics due to the extreme polarization growth, and ultimately conduct research on legislative issues regarding safety & security management. A university campus is a miniature of the society, concentrated with human resources, material resources and knowledge information resources. It is also a region in which various underlying risk factors threaten these resources. However, due to the insensibility of danger and carefree indolence, these risk factors have been ignoring, leaving university campus amidst a "dead zone." Currently, a systematic and synthetic measures not only for safety inside the laboratory but also for the new type of crimes such as cyber crimes and motiveless crime due to extreme polarization, stress, uneasiness about the future, increase of mental illnesses, and drug abuse are urgently required. Therefore, I would like to introduce a legislative program in a crisis management perspective that can prevent universities from danger and protect the resources which would ultimately create a new security system.

Clay minerals show a distinct induced-polarization phenomenon, which is one of the most important factors for predicting groundwater flow and contaminant transport. This paper presents a step-by-step process to estimate Cole-Cole parameters from spectral induced-polarization (IP) data measured on the surface of three-dimensional earth. First, the inversion of low-frequency resistivity survey data is made to identify the dc resistivity ${\rho}_dc$ of a volume having IP effects. The other parameters, chargeability m, time constant $\tau$, and frequency dependence c, are sought for the polarizable volume. Next, using multi-frequency data, c can be obtained as high or low asymptotes of the slope of log phase vs. log frequency. Further, for low m, intrinsic $\tau$ is approximated by apparent one, ${\tau}_a$, which is derived from the relation ${{\omega}{\tau}}_a$=1 at an angular frequency $\omega$, where the imaginary component of spectral IP data has an extreme value. Finally, to obtain intrinsic m a two-step linearized procedure has been derived. For a body of given $\tau$ and c, forward modeling with a progression of m values yields a plot of observed vs. intrinsic imaginary components for a frequency. Since this plot is essentially linear, to extract the intrinsic imaginary component is quite simple with an observed value. Using the plot of intrinsic imaginary component vs. m, intrinsic m is determined. We present a synthetic example to illustrate that the Cole-Cole parameters can be recovered from spectral IP data.

Because of economic polarization and difficulties, extreme personalization, and the complexity of social relationships, modern people are experiencing various mental disorders or pathologies. Accordingly, there is an urgent need to prepare more active countermeasures and support those with mental health difficulties to improve mental health and prevent abnormal pathologies. Artificial intelligence (AI) is expected to improve the mental health of individuals through emotional enhancement beyond affective computing. We investigated how to use AI to prevent and diagnose mental diseases or disorders, support treatment, and manage followup. In particular, promising services that can be used in daily life or medical clinics were discovered and active directions for realizing these services are suggested.

This paper deals with the nature and function of intensification in Korean in a wider scope of context which was not paid proper attention. Unobserved new areas of intensification are paid more attention like sound split of polysemy e.g. [s'eda], [kyongk'i] by n of intensification and north Korean application of intensification on [wonsu] and intensification of borrowed English. The recent phenomenon of 'gwua' intensification is experimented on two groups of people, young students and old people beyond 65 years old by means of sociolinguistic analysis. The result shows that its intensification is a form of student violent power and a mark of extreme solidarity among activist students. In conclusion, the nature of so called saisiot[t] e.g. intensification is voiceless tensed pause and its functions are the polarization of the original meaning of the word, sound split of polysemy and attachment of social values by intensification.

The recent phenomenon of ‘gwua’ intensification is experimented on two groups of people, young students and old people beyond 65 years old by means of sociolinguistic analysis. The result shows that its intensification is a form of student violent power and a mark of extreme solidarity among activist students. Thirty three university students(male 16, female 17) are asked to explained to write the meanings(feelings or when to use, etc.) of the words which have normal form and intensified forms. The results show intensification attaches the meaning of ‘emphasis,’ to bring the extremely polarized emotion: samll to the smallest, exact to the perfect exactness, bad to the worst feeling. Four words are being split to express different meaning with the word intensified. In conclusion, the nature of so called saisiot(t) e.g. intensification is voiceless tensed pause and its functions are the polarization of the original meaning of the word, sound split of polysemy and attachment of social values by intensification.
