The characteristics of forced vibration by an external excitation force having a frequency were analyzed according to the amplitude and frequency of the excitation force. To obtain displacement, velocity, and acceleration, numerical analysis was performed to obtain the frequency response, and in particular, each FRF(Frequency Response Function) was analyzed to reveal the location of the system natural frequency and excitation frequency in the frequency domain. In the vibration model caused by external excitation, the natural frequency and distribution of the surrounding excitation mode in displacement, velocity and acceleration FRF. The FRF was also shown in the power spectrum and FRF of real and imaginary parts. The external excitation force was approximated with the excitation force of a sine wave by giving the amplitude and frequency, the mode generated by this excitation force could be distinguished. After numerical analysis by changing the equivalent mass, damping and stiffness, the forced vibration response characteristics by external excitation force were systematically analyzed.

As you known well, Ulsan port is very famous for handling chemical products which occupies about 80% of quantities of all Korean ports. Many ship's operators prefer to handle liquid cargo es at proper anchorages instead of the berth for saving port expenses. Ulsan M-10 anchorage was assigned for handling liquid cargoes, however this anchorage's space is restricted by the oil pipeline which lays under seabed about 400m off from the center of M-10 anchorage, for which we have to consider of the external force and counter force for keeping the safety of anchoring. Where, external force is induced by wind, tidal currents and wave while counter force is induced by holding power of anchor/chain. In this study, author evaluated a method to analyze theoretically the limit of external force condition up to which an anchoring ship can keep her position without dragging, and for which applied to many kinds of combined Ships as mother ship of 50,000 DWT Tanker and 4 sizes of Tanker as alongsided ship.

In domestic case, there are no results of corresponding researches for measuring external tendon force. The purpose of the present paper is therefore to measure external tendon force by using deriving ultrasonic method. For this purpose, we designed and manufactured wedges and test system, and measured ultrasonic pulse velocity and pulse amplitude. By using measured data, we tried to analyze the characteristics of tendon force, and to derive the relationship between tendon force and ultrasonic pulse velocity, finally to develop the technic of measuring system using ultrasonic pulse velocity. So tendon force-velocity relationship was proposed by equations, and those equations of which errors were 3.92~8.77% will be possible to adapt in-site.

In this paper, a force estimation method is proposed for force control without force sensor. For this , a disturbance observer is applied to each joint of an {{{{ { n}_{ } }}}} degrees of freedom manipulator to obtain a simple equivalent robot dynamics(SERD) being represented as an n independent double integrator system. To estimate the output of disturbance observer due to internal torque, the disturbance observer output estimator(DOOE) is designed, where uncertain parameters of the robot manipulator are adjusted by the gradient method to minimize the performance index which is defined as the quadratic form of the error signal between the output of disturbance observer and that of DOOE. when the external force is exerted, the external force is estimated by the difference between the output of disturbance observer and DOOE, since output of disturbance observer includes the external torque signal as well as the internal torque estimated by the output of DOOE. And then, a force controller is designed for force feedback control employing the estimated force signal. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed force estimation method, several numerical examples and experimental results are illustrated for the 2-axis direct drive robot manipulator.

This study analyzes the lateral distribution behavior of external post-tensioning force and evaluates the possibility of strengthening the servicing composite girder bridge by adopting the external post-tensioning force to the parts of the bridge girder. From the results of experiments and analyses, it is founded that the composite girder bridge can be strengthened by applying the external post-tensioning force to the parts of the bridge girder. It is also proved that bracing improve the lateral distribution behavior of post-tensioning force. The lateral distribution behavior of post-tensioning force which influenced by stiffness ratio, girder spacing and span length is changed by the bridge type and the location of tensioned girder. From the results of analyses, set up an equation which can predict the lateral distribution behavior of external post-tensioning force and evaluate the rationality.

The repetitive vibrating action of an aerodynamic load causes an external fuel tank's horizontal fin to experience a shorter life cycle than its originally predicted one. Store separation analysis is needed to redesign the fin of an external fuel tank. In this research, free-drop tests were conducted using 15% scaled models in a subsonic wind tunnel in order to analyze the store separation characteristics of an external fuel tank. The store separation trajectory based on grid tests was also obtained to verify the results of the free-drop tests. The results acquired from the free-drop tests correlated well with the grid tests in regards to the trajectories and behavior of the stores separated from the aircraft. This agreement was especially noted in the early stages of the store separation.

This paper proposes nonlinear behavior in a love model for Romeo and Juliet with an external force of discontinuous time. We investigated the periodic motion and chaotic behavior in the love model by using time series and phase portraits with respect to some variable and fixed parameters. The computer simulation results confirmed that the proposed love model with an external force of discontinuous time shows periodic motion and chaotic behavior with respect to parameter variation.

We investigated field-effect ion-transport devices based on carbon nanotubes by using classical molecular dynamics simulations under applied external force fields, and we present model schematics that car be applied to the nanoscale data storage devices and unipolar ionic field-effect transistors. As the applied external force field is increased, potassium ions rapidly flow through the nanochannel. Under low external force fields, ther nal fluctuations of the nanochannels affect tunneling of the potassium ions whereas the effects of thermal fluctuations are negligible under high external force fields. Since the electric current conductivity increases when potassium ions are inserted into fullerenes or carbon nanotubes, the field effect due to the gate, which can modify the position of the potassium ions, changes the tunneling current between the drain and the source.
Since the introduction of the mandatory energy efficiency design index (EEDI), several studies have been conducted on the maneuverability of waves owing to the decrease in engine power. However, most studies have used the mean wave force during a single cycle to evaluate maneuverability and investigated the turning performance. In this study, we calculated the external force in accordance with the angle of incidence of the wave width and wavelengths encountered by KVLCC2 (KRISO very large crude-oil carrier) operating at low speeds in regular waves using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). We compare the model test results with those published in other papers. Based on the external force calculated using CFD, an external force that varies according to the phase of the wave that meets the hull was derived, and based on the derived external force and MMG control simulation, a maneuvering simulation model was constructed. Using this method, a weather vaning simulation was performed in regular waves to evaluate the course-keeping ability of KVLCC2 in waves. The results confirmed that there was a difference in the operating trajectory according to the wavelength and phase of the waves encountered.

This paper discusses haptic display for grasping a virtual object by two fingers. Much research has been done on fundamental analysis for stability of haptic display. But it is difficult to apply the results immediately to grasping situations by two fingers, since the studies usually deal with a single device and a single object and the fingertip force in grasping situations has two components, internal and external components. The conventional methods, which specify the coupling impedance at each contact point separately, have no other alternative but to specify the impedance for the sum of the internal and external components. So even if only the impedance for the external force should be changed, the impedance for the internal force is also changed at the same time. In this paper, a new method, in which the coupling impedance is specified separately for the internal and external forces, is proposed and the stability of the proposed method is discussed using passivity analysis for 1 -DOF(Degree-Of-Freedom) system. Finally, some experiments are performed to study the effects of the proposed method.
