In the first stage, age, educational level, and motivation(physical cure) had a positive effect on involvement. However, Occupation(public officials/faculty staff) had a negative effect on involvement. In the second stage, age, educational level, motivation(physical cure), and propensity to pursue wellness had a positive effect on involvement. In the third stage, age, educational level, propensity to pursue wellness, attention restoration awareness, and rural healing tourism satisfaction had a positive effect on involvement. The results of this study show that not only the characteristics of rural healing tourists, but also positive experiences in healing tourism have the greatest influence on tourists' involvement. The results of this study suggest practical implications for how to effectively increase the degree of tourists' involvement in healing tourism.

In this study, a total of 433 cases were used for analysis. A total of four clusters of rural healing tourists were derived based on the purpose of visit and involvement with rural healing tourism. The names of each cluster were determined as 'high involvement, daily escape purpose type', 'high involvement, stress relief purpose type', 'low involvement, daily escape purpose type', and 'high involvement, exotic experience purpose type.' Each groups were found to have significant differences according to educational level, purpose of visit, companion, and expenditure. The satisfaction and the behavioral intention of rural healing tourists was highest in the group of 'high involvement, stress relief purpose type.' The results of this study suggest that the characteristics and satisfaction of rural healing tourists were differ according to the segmented group. • Purpose - This study presents the relationships between parent brand-self image congruence, parent brand -functional congruity, perceived fit between parent brand and extension product, and consumer's attitude toward extension product using the structural equation model. As for preceding concepts having a direct effect on consumer's attitude toward brand extension, the study focuses on parent brand-self image congruence and parent brand-functional congruity. It also looks at the effect of parent brand-self image congruence and parent brand-functional congruity on the consumer's attitude toward extension product and identifies if the perceived fit between parent brand and extension product is a concept playing a mediating role between parent brand-self image congruence or parent brand-functional congruity and consumer's attitude toward brand extension product. Research design, data, and Methodology - SPSS for Windows 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 were used for data analysis. Then, the Cronbach's α coefficient was obtained using SPSS for Windows 18.0 to measure reliability. In addition, the convergence and discriminative measures of the measured items were statistically verified using AMOS 18.0. Finally, we have validated a path model and a parameter model in which brand personality-self-matched attitude toward brand extension. Results - Studies have shown that the impact of parent brand-self image consistency and parent brand-functional consistency on the attitude of extended products was positive. Perceived fit between parent brand and extension products has been shown to play a role of intermediary between parent brand-self image congruence and consumer attitudes to extended products. However, perceived fit between parent brand and extension products did not play a role as intermediary between the parent brand-functional congruity and the attitude toward the extended product. Finally, in relation to the causal relationship between parent brand-congruity (self image/functionality) and attitudes to extended products. The effect of parent brand-functional coherency on attitudes toward extended products was found to be greater in groups with higher involvement than in those with lower involvement. Conclusions - Although few studies have been done on what variables mediated when parent brand-self image consistency and parent brand-functional coherency affect consumer attitude, this paper is significant in finding whether perceived fitness between the parent brand-congruity and the extension product is mediated.

  • This study investigates the influence of the mother brand's product types on the consumers' brand evaluations on consistent and inconsistent brand extensions. The study shows that brand extensions consistent with the mother brand's product type have better brand evaluations than inconsistent brand extensions. The study also shows that brand extensions consistent with utilitarian mother products are much more important than consistent brand extensions with hedonic mother brands. Furthermore, results show that the types of consumer involvement influence the consumers' brand evaluations by interacting with types of mother brands and consistency of brand extensions.

  • Intracranial involvement by adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) is very rare and there is no report of intracranial extension from the palate ACC in Korea. Intracranial involvement can occur in one of three ways: direct extension, perineural spread, and hematogenous spread. A case report of a 35-year-old woman with intracranial ACC is presented. Initially she had ACC of the right palate and was treated by surgery and postoperative radiation therapy. Three years and 10 months later, the paresthesia in the distribution of ophthalmic and maxillary branch of right trigeminal none developed without evidence of recurrence in CT scan. Ptosis and total ophthalmoplegia developed sequentially and the second operation was peformed. It was suggested that the tumor was spread perineurally along the trigeminal news into the Gasserian ganglion and then cavernous sinus and orbit. Seven years and 6 months after the first operation, direct intracranial extension into the right temporal lobe developed via sphenoid bone, sphenoid sinus and temporal bone and the third operation was done. And then lung metastasis was diagnosed. She is alive for 9 years 5 months after first operation.
